Hello I just wanted to introduce myself and this is the only page I can find to do so. My name is Dean Moore and i have been thru induction-then turned to M/E only for my 3rd straight week. Thus far I have lost 24 lbs and all is well. Thank you for your time.

Happy Monday
MistySending positive vibes your way as you rededicate yourself to low carb. It may be a battle for you, but it helps to have a good support system, hope we all can encourage each other. May have to dust ourselves off a few times, but I am determined to lose the weight that's been creeping up hanging around for 20 years. Can't keep blaming those babies, that was 20 and more years ago!! Anyway, hang tough!! |

Hi everyone! Can I just say, first off, thank you Cheri for the awesome site. And thanks to everyone here on the boards. I've been lurking for the past few weeks reading everything I can. I started Akins DANDR and lost weight, but after a month in London of carbs and beer, gained it all back.
After searching online, I found this site. I learned about net carbs vs. actual carbs and have decided to do Kimkins. I started with a 5 day KE and have just started to add my veggies. So far, in a week and a half, I've lost 7 pounds! My goal is to reach 115 by the end of the month and reach my dream weight of 100 by the end of the year. I know with the holidays it'll be tough, but I feel in control for the first time. Ketosis is great and I have a controlled appetitie for the first time. I've always been hungry and addicted to carbs and finally getting rid of the sugar and carbs has been amazing. Also, my craving/desire to drink alcohol is virtually non-existent. A first for me! LCing is one of the best things that's happened to me. I'm happier and healthier. Thanks for all the inspiration and I can't wait to start figuring this board out--never really done anything like this before. But between the boards and fitday and everything else, I know I can do it... Oh, and I plan on treating myself to the T-tapp dvds next month and starting on that. And I hadn't even heard of T-Tapp until coming to this site. |

If anyone has questions please ask them on the main board so that your questions are better answered. Sometimes there are a few days that go by without anyone coming back to the thread and that might be discouraging to the newbies that need help...
Any comments about the newbie site are welcome because I have recently changed it up by adding a lot more information and getting rid of the second "additional information" page. Take care!! cheri ![]() |

Here is how to put pictures in posts...
You need to upload them to the internet first. A couple of free hosting sites are: photobucket.com and tinypic.com and http://imageshack.us/index.php Once you've uploaded the picture through one of those sites, or your own, copy the URL (properties) for the picture and place it between the image tags like this (but leave off the *) : [*img]yourpictureURL.jpg[/img] and your image will show up in your post If you need help resizing or cropping your picture feel free to send it to me at cherilynn8@hotmail.com and I can do it for ya. cheri

Me too, I mean I'm new here, not to Akin's
I'm not new to akin's, have done it since "76, but have lurked here for many years, the only name I remember from the beginning is "Dottie" ( I always try her receipe's), they are always good. I registered because of the fairly new thread on EFGT (excellent) but it's pure aktins and so glad it's on here.
Y'all have a lot of really caring people on this board. ![]() |

There is a very active thread in other plans, ETGT is a book by Barry Groves, (he lives in England, and actually often comes on and posts here), he says that diets should be appx. 70% fat, 20% protein, 10% carbs, or at least in that ratio. He doesn't advocate an induction like atkins, but a slow steady loss. I've been watching it daily and they seem to really like it and get results, but to me it's Atkin's the way he originally wrote it without the first induction period.

Hello everyone! I am so excited to meet you all. I just started induction today and feel great! It was a little diffcult because I am a junk food junkie, but I have made a promise to myself to lose the weight to feel better about myself, and I made it through. These boards are such motivation!! I had my second child in April and have some serious pregnancy weight to lose. I can't wait to get to know all of you!

Been lurking around here for a couple days and have been contemplating whether I should go "LC" or not. I have been down this road before and I was very successful. It has actually been the only way of eating I have lost weight with. I enjoyed LCing as well, just got side tracked with the "junk" food we are surrounded with. I have many excuses, but have decided no more. Starting fresh Monday morning I am going back to my LC way of eating. For the next couple days I will be planning and preparing to start. Looking forward to my new journey!!

welcome!!
Just thought I would share something I saw on green tea box:
"When you get into a tight place and evrything goes against you, til it seems as though you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn" I really needed this today- have been trying sooo hard and have been really good, but the pounds have not been flying off. Kicked it up a notch!! We'll see... |

Trying again
Just wanted to say how great this site looks and very inspiring. I joined ages ago and have never put much effort into it. I lost alot of weight doing atkins about 5 years ago. I have now come back to it and this site more determined than ever. I am looking forward to learning and losing. Bye for now

all soda's make me retain water. i have not had soda, carbonated beverages in over 10 years, if i drink one today i would swell up and be 5 pounds heavier by tomorrow.. so i have always drank unsweet tea or tea with equal and lately i just found flavored water with no carbonation and it comes in all flavors and it is awesome and i drink several a day. it has really enchanced my water drinking... i am so full right now i am miserable..... and i am full from water...........
