The first thing I thought of this morning when I was trying to figure out what I'll be eating today is your thread here! It's so intriguing and I wonder if I could get through 6 days of such low fat. What happens once you go back to normal eating? Or do you? I think I read that Jessica Simpson used a very similar sounding eating plan when she got into her great shape. I can't start today since I'm going to the Bucs game and I don't think they are going to have the food I would need. Plus, gotta have a cold one there.
It's an interesting experiment in eating....I'm really not hungry. But then I eat about every 3 hours! The food is quite bland though, and no where near enough variety. This isn't something I can maintain for more than the 6 days. Once this is over, I'll go back to Atkins Induction, but still keep lower (just not ZERO) fat and lower sodium.

Do a google search on Yumana ball rolling. You mostly get sites that sell the equipment but the main page for Yumana gives you a lot more info.

Thanks! I have just started really watching my carb and fat intake. I haven't been cheating at all on high carb stuff, just eating too much in general so the carbs have been increasing. I also have to give up the nuts. I've been low carbing for over two years and I find that my body does not handle the high fat like it did in the beginning. I'm going to keep it lower and see how that goes. If my body gets used to that then what do I do? I guess I'll always be fighting it.
Thanks for the Yumana info. I'll be checking it out!

Got through #5...today is the final day. Food pretty much the same.

I was going to wait until the end of the day today to give my thoughts, but I don't think they'll change.
This was difficult to stick to, because it required so much food pepraration and so much to carry around with you if you work out of the home. The food is bland and not much variety.
I feel good, lots of energy, sleeping well. BUT. That happens to me when I'm on induction as well. As far as weight loss. Yes, I have lost weight through this, but I can't tell that it's any more of a loss than when I've been on strict induction.
The end result is..I would highly recommend this book and this diet to someone who has been doing a diet other than low carb are not dieting at all. I think the impact for someone who hasn't been dieting to go low fat, low carb after doing this for 6 days would most certainly drop that 'dress size' and feel amazing. For me, who is close to goal and has been eating low carb already for so long as a lifestyle, the weight impact wasn't that great.
Don't get me wrong. Although I did not lose the advertised 'dress size' I DID lose. (I don't 'do' scales, so I can only judge by the mirror and the way my clothes fit). And I did take away some valuable lessons from sticking strictly to this.
1. The importances of planning and preparation ahead of time to keep you on track.
2. Eating 5 small meals and a snack works better for me. Although the food was bland I ate at the appointed times and measured small portions and did not get hungry at any point, thus there was no giving in to eating the wrong thing because I was hungry and nothing else was available,
3. I feel better after dropping the sodium and fat...now that doesn't mean I'm going to keep the fat and sodium THAT low. But I've gotten through the diet Pepsi withdrawal, that I've been drinking for as long as I can remember, (getting rid of the aspartame HAS to be a good thing to). I never though it would happen! I'll stick with that.
4. I'll also limit the red meat. Doesn't mean I won't have that occasional steak, but I won't be eating it 3 times a day.
5. I'll be limiting the added fats as well. Now that I've adjusted to the blandness, I think a TBS of mayo will be fine as opposed to a quarter cup LOL. and I'll bake or grill as opposed to frying in oil when I can.
6. The NuSalt salt substitute is not bad on meats, so I'll continue limiting my salt intake and try to use other spices for flavoring instead.
7. I'll be giving up the additonal carbs this diet allowed (especially that rice YUCK, no problem there!) Since I was used to 15-25 carbs and this diet put me at about 100-125, that could have been a factor for me. If I had been eating 800 or more g carbs before I would have seen more of a loss. One thing I will keep for sure is the 1/2 grapefruit in the morning. For some reason that just started my day off right. and I've NEVER been a grapefruite eater.
End result is, this was a vaulable experience for me. I've learned alot from it. Especially with regard to my particular body type and how it reacts to things. It wasnt' such a drastic change ( like adding breads, and high carb foods) so it won't be difficult at all to go back induction levels. All in all I'd say it was a good experience, and I would recommend at least reading the book for the 'science' behind the body type methodology.
Today is the last day. I did take pictures the morning of day 3. If I remember to, I'll take pics tonight and if they aren't too awful gross I'll post them

You may now return to your regularly scheduled programming.

The final result was is my post above. I took after pictures but the comparison really wasn't good due to the different angles and lighting so you really couldn't judge the difference. As I said above, it was a good experience, but I think due to my already low carb levels the loss and change was not as drastic as it probably would have been had I went from my old high carb woe to this.
I think I'm making better progress in changing my body with the body rolling. Decompressing the spine and elongating the abs naturally lends itself to flattening out that 'pooch' in the lower belly.
So...I'm back to lower carb, a bit higher fat. Still keeping the sodium lower.
