"Do you all know the dangers of cinnamon? Like don't take it while pregnant? it is an abortive agent and can cause bleeding and premature birth. especialy in early pregnacy. thats the main danger, it can also cause bleeding out of your menstral cycle or extra heavy bleeding because it effects the uterus." So you might have extra bleeding during TOM. But I would think you would have to eat a lot of cinnamon to have this effect. It is probably very large doses to abort a pregnancy. But if never hurts to be careful!

Almost every site I have been to has said that cinnamon can help with cramping and helps regulate menstruation...but I haven't seen anything regarding bleeding out. In fact, one site said it controls menstrual 'flooding'. If anyone knows where the OP's info came from I would like to look it up. Thanks. |

Well, some of the previous replies in this thread, as well as some of the articles had suggested that excess cinnamon can thin the blood, as well as cause TOM to be worse, and with more cramping.
I've been following the cinnamon stats to see everyones progress. But so far it seems they may lose a few pounds right off the bat, and then it slows or stops. Maybe water weight? Someone mentioned cinnamon is a diuretic. I am anxious to see what the long term effects are as far as weight loss. |

That's a good question. I just looked up Cinnamon in the USDA Nutrient Database. They didn't list a stick of Cinnamon. However, they did list ground cinnamon and according to them, it has 1.84 carbs in a teaspoon.

Hope all of you are using your cinnamon. I have done research and everything seems to be great with adding this product to our diet.

I believe the articles that are posted on this thread provide research for 1/2-1 tsp consumed a day. If you take the pills AND eat 1 tsp a day, that may be too much. What does everyone else think? |

Remembering of course that 1tsp = 4750 mgs.(as posted SOMEWHERE in this thread). So, subtract the number of mgs in the total number of pills you take in a day, then figure how many mgs are left for you to use as a spice.

I don't know if this has anything to do with too much or not--- Been putting "several" shakes in my coffee - morning & again in the evening. Started sneezing, running nose & eye. (just on one side.) I'm slowing down on it today and see if it is better.
I had put "too much" the other night I think & it was like it opened my sinuses & everything went to running & I went to sneezing - for 24 hours - steady running!! I wasn't sure if it was a cold or not but now I think it was too much cinnamon. I like the taste in my coffee, especially when I add a little cream & some Davinnici!!!!!! |

Karsen, I don't know, if taking cinnamon can cause these symptoms or not. I know that they tell you not to eat it dry, because it can give you a nose bleed. You might try staying off of it for a few days and see, if they quit, and then reinduce the cinnamon in your diet and see if it starts up again.
Good luck. ![]() |

I was wondering the same thing with all of that powdered milk. I went to the USDA database and found that whole dried milk is 49.18 grams carbs per cup (0 fiber). So, for the 1.75 cups would be 86.25 and add another 16 for the .75 cups of Splenda and you have a minimum of 102.25 grams carbs. So, depends on how many balls one gets what the carb count per serving would be.

Back to cinnamon...
I noticed in the "Stats" section that some people are haivng great success with cinnamon and others are not. I looked on a few websites and there are actually different types of cinnamon, some considered real cinnamon, some considered "substitutes."
So I was wondering if everyone could look at their cinnamon and also list what type they are taking. Maybe the type of cinnamon has something to do with the weight loss???? |

I started using the cinnamon at the beginning of the week. I put some in some cream cheese with some Splenda or Davinci's and mix it up and eat it. I also put it in my tea and coffee.
The greatest effect for me, in addition to losing a few lbs this week, is that I no longer have sugar cravings. Now this for me is amazing as I am a total sugar aholic. So I am going to keep doing this. |

I ordered the cinnamon capsules from Nature's Own and after taking the whole bottle (2 caps a day), I didn't have any loss.
It seems like nothing ever works for me.![]() |

Guys, I'm excited about this idea! I've been stuck at the same weight for months. This morning I had three cups of green tea with cinnamon, bacon, and mock danish with cinnamon. I hope I'll be looking at a woosh soon!

From what I have read, it doesn't matter which one you use. I just use the ole store brand.
They had an Article in Remedy Magazine to just use plain ole cinnamon. I put the Article on a thread. I guess some have not read it, or missed it. ![]() |

I haven't been doing the cinnamon thing, but just tried something really delicious, so I thought I'd post it here. Hope it's not a repeat!!
I spread a tablespoon of pistachio nut butter (0 net carbs) on LC bread. I sprinkled w/ 1 packet of Splenda, and a teaspoon of cinnamon. I then kind of mixed it together on the bread, folded it in half, an it was a very filling lunch/snack. I found the pistachio nut butter at the health food store. It's good, bland but tasty, and a little expensive. I think it will last a long, LONG time. Wendi
