I was down 2.5 pounds this morning. I am not sure if it is related to the cinnamon or not but I add 1 tsb. of cinnamon to 2 tbsp of creamy PNB.
I just now had 1 tsp of cinnamon with 1 oz of cream cheese. We shall see what tomorrow brings. Reva |

The Cinnamin DeVinci is made with cinnamin extract, so why won't this count?

Beeb...it depends on what they do to it during the processing, like do they use ground cinnamon vs the cinnamon oil, etc.
I guess you would need to figure how much Davinci's it takes to equal 1 tsp of ground cinnamon. If it has the same efficacy as the ground version, that seems like fun way to take it! Last edited by bethany; 11-07-2004 at 06:54 PM.. |

I just mixed a tsp with a tsp of PB...kind of like eating chalk. (I would assume)
I use natural PB and always pour off the oil right when I open the jar, so it was pretty dry. Adding water still didn't help much. I'm starting my hunt for capsules online tonight! |

Just thought I would share a little research in case anyone is interested...
1 tsp = 4750mgs a day Most Cinnamon caps come in 500mg, so you would need to eat 9 or 10 a day!!! (or at least 5 to get 1/2 tsp in for the day). If you buy CAP-T-CIN (600mg), they are $33.55 for 360 (that's 2 bottles) If you buy Nature's Bounty (500mg), they are $27.96 for 400 (4 bottles) I might be looking for a non-capsule method after all, because I am just NOT up to swallowing another 9 or 10 pills a day (I already take a bunch of vitamins and some prescription meds too). |

That must have tasted awful! I mixed natural peanut butter with cinnamon (not a full tsp) and also added some sugar-free vanilla syrup. It was pretty tasty. Do you have any flavored syrups you can use to thin it out?Since your Walgreens doesn't sell the ready-made capsules, have you considered buying the empty capsules and filling them yourself? I know someone was going to try it. This thread has gotten so long I don't remember who! |

How would you fill the capsules? Does it come with something to do that? I had a tsp of cinnamon with PB and it was yummy! Just so thirsty after!

Bethany - I "sacrificed" a few of my new cinnamon capsules to measure out a teaspoon--just to get a better idea of how many to take in a day. Same as you, I was NOT looking forward to taking another 9-10 pills (I already take quite a few supplements). The capsules are not that small, and I didn't see how it could require so many to fill a teaspoon. My experiment results: happily, it only took 3.5 capsules to fill a measuring spoon teaspoon--maybe 4 if it was packed down. So, that's good news. Now if you could only find them in Jax. Have you tried a health food store? Maybe GNC? Let me know if you can't locate them and I'll shop for you here in Orlando, and send them to you. I cleaned my Walgreens out of their last two bottles, but there are more Walgreens not far away. Just let me know.

Lynn, that is totally weird! Maybe I need to redo my math on that conversion? (I actually used an online conversion site, so I guess I can't blame it on me!)
I'll hit GNC and a healthfood place down the street tomorrow and let you know...thanks for the offer! |

Do the thermogenic properties apply only to "true" cinnamon? Do you folks realize that what your buying in the grocery store that is labled as "cinnamon" is actually cassia bark and not true cinnamon? 98% of what is consumed as cinnamon in the world isn't actually cinnamon it's a bark that very closely resembles cinnamon in flavor.
Just curious. |

The cinnamon tabs I bought at the health food store are cinnamonium aromaticum and cinnamonium aromaticum bark. The label on the bottle also talks about cinnamon being used to help regulate blood sugar (which is why I chose to start using it) and suggests also adding GTF Chromium for the same reason.
These are 200mg tabs and the dosage on the bottle is 1 or 2 after meals. Nowhere near the 1/2 teas. everyone is talking about. ![]() |

Regarding dosage:
The studies suggest 1/2 a teaspoon day is beneficial (though I'm not quite sure how we got up to a whole teaspoon)...unless your pill dosage was based on the study's results, I'm not surprised they don't match. Quote:
