From my Favorite Show of All Time - Seinfeld:
"Cinnamon takes a back seat to no babka. People love cinnamon. It should be on tables at restaurants along with salt and pepper. Anytime anyone says, "Oh this is so good, what's in it?" The answer invariably comes back, "Cinnamon." "Cinnamon." Again and again. Lesser babka?? I think not." - Jerry Seinfeld |

Somewhere early in this thread (which I just spent way too long reading) it said that the blood-sugar benefits weren't found in cinnamon oil, but in powdered cinnamon. I wonder where a water extract fits in there? |

I love to add cinnamon and splenda to some cream cheese and spread it on a oopsie roll. Also I drizzle olive oil and sprinkle cinnamon and tumeric on my chicken before I bake it. Yum! It is also good in stirfry.

Welcome to the CinSulin® Website CinSulin is a safe and effective dietary supplement made with just water, heat and cinnamon. No harsh chemicals or solvents are used. It is the only patented water extract of cinnamon to help maintain healthy blood glucose levels within the normal range. Water extract of cinnamon is a clinically proven nutrient that has been tested for safety and effectiveness in human clinical trials. The Differences Between CinSulin and Cinnamon CinSulin differs in two important ways: 1. The Process – CinSulin is made by mixing cinnamon bark with water, then applying heat, pressure and special techniques that insure a quality extract. A required part of the process sterilizes the extract for added assurance. 2. Extract Content – Desirable compounds are concentrated and unwanted substances largely removed. CinSulin’s yield ratio is 10:1, so 2 CinSulin capsules with 250 mg in each contain the concentrated benefits of 10 typical 500 mg plain table cinnamon capsules. Table cinnamon is often just ground-up cinnamon bark and contains both water-soluble and fat-soluble compounds. Fat-soluble compounds may accumulate in the body if ingested over a long period.

I can't believe how old this thread is
...or that I spent so much time reading it yesterday !Anyway...it looks like people were getting results & really good ones...so if it's not broke... !After reading this thread last night...I sprinkled about a tablespoon of cinnamon on my dinner. This morning, I sprinkled the same amount on my breakfast. I do not weigh in until tomorrow morning after my workout...so I won't be able to report day-to-day results! Any little bit helps Thank you to the person that brought this thread back !

The research on which the health claims for cinnamon are based have been debunked and those are not reproducible. they were based on using the plain old cassia cinnamon which is what you buy at the grocery store. The expensive supplements are a scam.
I have documented the research on this here: Worthless or Dangerous Supplements Cinnamon is delicious and can add flavor to many recipes but it isn't likely to give you more weight loss than you'd get without it if you are eating low carb. Last edited by Blood Sugar 101; 08-19-2009 at 04:05 PM.. |

I put about a tablespoon of cassia cinnamon in my protein shake every morning. Sometimes I'll use more throughout the day. Been doing this for about 3 or 4 months. Haven't noticed any difference in my weight but it sure is yummy :-)

I bought some Dutch cinammon yesterday. It tastes really sweet. The ingredients dont mention sugar. Is it supposed to be sweet?
I've cooked with cinammon before but have never tasted it on its own. Hmm. I also got some cinammon tea. I tried to find grenn tea and cinammon but could only find black tea with cinammon. Havent tried it yet, but will let you know how it goes. I put some cinammon in my coffee and it damn well curbs my appetite! ![]() |

Cinammon has a natural sweetness to it. No worries on added sugar!

simple way
Just go to the walmart or kroger and get the 500mg capsules take one in am and one in pm then add a little delight to the taste buds throughout the week try it on different things just regular ol cinnamon. But take the capsules like i said in the 1in the am and 1in the pm. I am thoroughly satisfied with the results 2 weeks 8lbs gone vanished and my sugar cravings have dropped tremendously!!!

I've been sprinkling cinnamon on my pork rinds, along with 1 packet of splenda (a little less)
and adding a small pat of butter. I nuke the rinds for about 15 seconds and oh, my gosh, nom, nom, nom... It's nice to know that this might actually be a legal treat that's helpful due to the cinnamon! |

I have tried this. It tastes great but I cannot say it did anything for my weightloss. HOWEVER the contipating affect of it was not worth eating/drinking it everyday. Anyone else have this problem.
