I've used Kroger brand and McCormick. I don't think the store brand has as much flavor, but I can't really say if one "works" any better than the other.

cinnamon omlette :-)
My mom called me and told me she's lost 12 pounds in five days following Dr. Gundry's diet and is adding cinnamon to just about everything. So this morning I made an egg scramble with three egg whites, two cups chopped broccoli, curry powder, ginger, and dumped on the cinnamon. It was not bad at all. Hopefully if I follow this for a few weeks I'll be able to fit into my now-too-tight white jeans by forth of July :-)

Ya, I would like to know what that diet is, too. Thanks...
I may have to start the cinnamon again, too. I don't know for sure that it makes you lose weight, but is supposed to help control your blood sugar and cravings. Good luck... |

When I was on the cinnamon before I just used the store brand, as long as, it is fresh, I don't think that it matters...

mom's diet success
My mom is following Dr. Gundry's Diet Evolution. She has lupus and is on a number of medications that have caused her to gain weight. She's tried many diets before, and where everyone else looses quickly, she never has and ends up frustrated. This is the first one that's worked for her with all the meds she has to take. After her call with her shocked/excited success, I've ordered the book and even before getting it am adding cinnamon to everything starting today to get started right away. I'm an Atkins gal, and really don't like meat that much...so the ieal of tons of veggies and being able to eat yogurt/cottage cheese/soy milk.....sounds great :-)

Thanks! Wish the best to you too! After the birth of my 2nd son I signed up with Team in Training and trained for a marathon. Great way to lose weight! Plus after seeing how long it takes on the tread mill to burn off a few hundred calories it really makes me think before grabbing for the ice cream. The running has become addictive since then...I think because it's the only time I EVER get for just me...no kids climbing on me or begging for anything, just me and my own thoughts. Just getting home from vacation now and have had a combination of eating junk foods and laying on the beach instead of hitting the pavement or treadmill, so now it's time to get back in control before my weight gain gets out of control. (My clothes are tight and I'm wearing a beach coverup because it's the only thing that does not feel binding)
Hopefully in a few weeks I'll be able to fit back into my real clothes comfortably! Wish the best to everyone else trying to feel healthier and fit into their summer wardrobe. We'll get there!!! |

My dr put me on cinnamon but he told me to take the pills. He has me taking 2000 units per day to help lower my blood sugar levels (I have Diabetes) and lower my cholesterol. My levels are lower than they've ever been so I think the cinnamon, along with lc eating, is really helping.

I didn't know that cinnamon will lower your Cholesterol. My Mom couldn't eat cinnamon because it made her heart beat fast. Myself, I love cinnamon.
I thinking about making French toast with cinnamon for dinner. I am on CAD, so I am allowed. Just wanted to say that, so you all would know.. |

You can buy the pills at most department stores or pharmacies, as well as online. My pills are 500 units per pill and because I am trying to lower my blood sugar levels and cholesterol, my dr told me to take 2000 units daily, which is 4 pills. But I am doing that on a dr's recommendation. I think if you read the bottle, it should tell you what a normal dosage should be. (I'm thinking 1000 units per day).

I'm not sure if anyone has already suggested this...
I put ground cinnamon with a packet of Splenda and pork rinds in a baggy; shake it up and eat it as a snack. My 11 year old daughter loves them too. |

Well I don't know, if it was the cinnamon or not, but I was down 1.6 lbs today, after adding the cinnamon in last night. I will continue to do so and see what happens...

I could eat a clump of dirt if it was rolled in cinnamon..I think.
Every morning I make hazelnut coffee and sprinkle cinnamon over the grounds before I brew. I can get out of bed easier knowing there's a pot of that waiting for me. I've also put some in vanilla whey protein powder with low-carb milk and some ice cubes for a cinnamon-roll protein shake. LOVE cinnamon! Who says everything that tastes good is bad for you?? |

Cinch it with cinnamon
I have been taking cinnamon 1000mg. a day 500 am 500pm for 4 days now. I seem to think more clearly and I have noticed trimming in the waist line. I don't feel bloated. My brother-in-law has been taking it for a month and swears by it. Hes lost 7 inches in his waist. I am going to stick to it to see the results. What can it hurt? I'll get back later to let you guys know how its doing.

Hehe, this thread is what finally made be able to like cinnamon. Before it was just some icky sneezy burning red spice! Now I can drink Chai Tea and like it. Still can't chew Big Red Gum, though.

Costco carries a great cinnamon supplement I've started using -- made by "TruNature" -- it's called "CinSulin".
It is a water extract of cinnamon. 2 capsules contain 500mg cinnamon extract plus 200 mcg chromium picolinate. There are 120 capsules in a jar and they are usually about $15.59 and have been on sale the last couple weeks for $12.59. |
