I know it is really suppose to be good to keep you blood sugar stable, but how about weight loss? |

Hi I am a late comer to this but I put 1/4th teaspoon on a hardboiled egg and weirdly enough--it tasted good. I will try it on scrambled eggs tomorrow. I am also doing the egg and meat experiment so I won't really know what to attribute things to; but my Mom is Type II so I figure it can't hurt me ![]() |

hey guys, i started using cinnamon when i read about it here and like a lot of you i tried it in tea and coffee. but then i tried mixing it with a little bit of cream cheese which wasnt bad and i would just have a peice every morining before i started my routine. but my favorite way to eat i that i tried is mis to mix the teaspoon(i actually use more than the tsp.) in with 2 tbsp of heavy cream. its easy to swallow, almost feels like a desert to me at this point and it has also provided a feeling of being full for me also |

We had a cinnamon users thread in the challenge area for a month or two. It seemed like everyone who was using cinnamon had "good" days and "bad" days just like all dieters.
When you first take cinnamon it will curb your appetite, but then it seems to lose it's power. Some will swear by it...others don't like it's side effects. It just depends on the person, like almost anything. I don't think cinnamon is harmful to take on a regular basis, just don't expect miraculous results. Every body is different and will react differently. Try it and see if it works for you! The easiest way to take it is capsule form (found in wal-mart) but there have been instances of people claiming better success when using ground cinnamon and the fresher the better. Hope that helps! I personally took cinnamon capsules for 3 months with a little appetite suppression for the first 3 days then nothing much after that.

Well I don't know if cinnamon will help me lose weight but I did learn a nice trick about adding it to my coffee before brewing. That and a splash of vanilla DaVinci should be yummy!!!

Pita that's funny becuz I've been doing that for years when DH mistakenly buys French Roast (Yuk, blegh!). I use it to cut the bitter after taste.
I should be the skinniest chick alive, as much cinnamon I eat in a day. At least a tsp. |

I think you need to injest 2 tsp a day to get the benefits of the blood sugar stabelizing thingy. (sorry bad speller) At least thats what I remember.
And don't take it around yout TOM I did and it made it a difficult one. |

It was a lot heavier(flo) than usual and more crampy (sorry if that was too much info) I'd read somewhere that this could happen, so now I stop about 4 days before TOM and it seems to help.

goldberg and o'mara (GO-diet) have done some testing and found that cinnamon has the effect of controlling blood sugar which would mean helping w weight loss, right? since that's what it's all about....anyway, that's where i got the idea to put cinnamon in my yogurt along w a little sweetener. you gotta try it!! you can use quite a bit w/o overdoing it.

A bunch of girls here at LCF did a cinnamon challenge for a few months and it really didn't seem to have much of an effect on our weightloss. Some of us took the capsules, some of us used the ground cinnamon. We all took between 1-3 tablespoons a day. But it didn't seem to do anything more than low-carbing alone.

About a month ago I had a 4.5 pound water bloat over a weekend that hasn't budged. I found this thread yesterday so decided to try some cinnamon on my cottage cheese with splenda and put it in my evening coffee. This morning, without changing anything else in the way I ate or drank yesterday except adding the cinnamon, the scale finally moved down 1/2 a pound. Diuretic, fat ... I don't care. First movement off the 4.5 pound gain in a month. Yippeeeeee!!!
Liz P.S. I haven't worked out this week due to a knot (or something) in my back but had previously been working out more than enough to counter act the water retention. Last edited by thinlizzy; 08-16-2006 at 11:37 AM.. |

When I go to an espresso stand, I always request that they sprinkle cinnamon in my coffee. I don't add cream or sweetener - the cinnamon (it's not cinnamon sugar - it's the real stuff - I made sure of it) is enough for a delicious coffee without all the added calories or carbs.

Down one more ... I don't know if it's the cinnamon or coincidence, but it's finally coming back off! Yippee!

Just tried the cinnamon in my smoothie. I was too chicken to risk 'ruining' my whole smoothie so I put about 6 oz. in a separate cup and mixed in 1/4 tsp. of cinnamon. It was REALLY good. I was drinking the rest of my smoothie in another cup and didn't enjoy it as much so I added another 1/4 tsp of cinnamon to it. No matter if this does anything for my weightloss, I'm going to continue adding in 1/2 tsp to my smoothies!
I can feel the spiciness (is that a word?) going down my esophagus and into my stomach. Not sure if I like the feeling but maybe that's the thermogenic properties. Gonna try it in some cream cheese this afternoon. Not sure if I'm gonna do it with some butter, sf vanilla, sf syrup, or heavy cream, OR ALL?!

Had cinnamon in coffee this morning. I weighed and was down 5 lbs. Course I know it wasn't all frm the cinnamon I had yesterday, but I'd be willing to bet at least 2-3 lbs were. I think it brought on a whoosh, cause I was up several times last night losing water weight

I mix a teaspoon of cinnamon and 2 T. flax meal in one of the Dannon carb control vanilla yogurts. Have it every night right after I finish my supper. Read about cinnamon stabilizing blood sugars on a diabetic board back in December and have been doing it ever since. Whether it helps or not, it tastes yummy--almost like cheesecake
My blood work has improved dramatically so something is working!Brenda |
