However, everyone is different. You'll recieve as many posts telling you how bad it was for them as you will how good it is for others. There are many meds out there right now for anxiety, depression, etc and there's one that's right for you. The only way you'll find out which one is best for you is to try it! It is expensive still tho. I was quoted $80 for 30 day 20 mg without my insurance. |

I take a very small dose, 5 mg, each night, as more makes me toooo sleepy, even taking it at night. I've just added it back into my meds, with winter coming on. It helps with the irritability I get with my depression. I also feel more like doing things, as long as I'm not too tired to do them!
good luck. |

That saved my life back at the end of last year. I was struggling to function. I would spend my days in my nightgown and just want to sit around my house or get in my bed. I didn't want to go to sleep, I just wanted to be left all alone.
I was on it for six weeks, and it was terrific. I took myself off of it (which I don't recommend!) and it took me two weeks to get back to normal. I was ready to move out of my life and made an emergency appt with my OBGYN who diagnosed me with Post Partum Depression (even though the baby was 6 months old) and that medication helped me so much. I was an avid "I don't believe in anti depressants" person until I started taking it. Funny how our opinions change when we are in the middle of a crisis! It was WONDERFUL.

MAJOR LCF POSTER!

My husband was put on Lexapro after his father's 4 month battle with pancreatic cancer (it was the worst time of our lives). It did wonders for him, but he experienced diminished libido and gained 20 lbs. Once they weaned him off, he lost the weight and his libido returned. Just thought I would let you know the side effects he experienced.

I was on Lexapro for about a month. I may not have given it enough time, but I the only side effect I had was in the "intimate relations" area. It was too frustrating so I quit taking it. I have a close friend on it who loves it so far.

i took it for about two months, it made me really sleepy, so they put me on welbutrin as well - the combination of both worked out perfect, except the damn welbutrin made me consitpated so i had to stop taking both.

I am on effexer i to swear by it, no weight gain and a positive outlook on life. What ever works for you. Lexapro is a relative of celexa w/ lesser side effects... suposably. Good luck. G.
