Another before / after picture . :)
Ok, giving this a try. This is me at my heaviest, granted, it was ten years ago, but my weight had been about this up until a few years ago. I think you can click them to see them in their full glory!!
![]() The before picture is me around the high 130's, tight size 12. The after picture is from a few days ago, 113 lbs, size 2-4. ![]() I know it isn't a dramatic change, but my progress has been slow and steady. I hope it's inspiring! |

KrisT, how long did it take you to lose the weight? Just curious because your weight loss sounds similar to mine. |

Let's see..my first attempt at Atkins was in 2005, but I didn't have DANDR, so it didn't work correctly, or as well as it probably could have. I relied too much on processed food, as it was the low-carb heyday. That stuff was everywhere! Between 1998, when the first picture was taken, and 2005, I had two children and wasn't able to exercise as much as I am able to now. Each child put a little more weight on me, and I was in the high 130's when I started Atkins in 2005. I lost about 10 lbs over the course of 2 years, very slowly-lol!
I was at 120-something this past January and started induction the end of Feb. I dropped about 7 lbs the first two weeks and have been slowly adding more carbs per day. I seem to be stable at 113 and have decided that even my goal weight was a little bit lower, I have lots of energy at this weight and feel strong. I think it's mostly muscle anyway, so I'm really not sure if I could get any lower without losing muscle. My body is strong and does what I want it to, so what more could I ask for? Besides, when I cut out too many carbs, I tend to be very cranky. ![]() I'd rather be a little soft in some areas and have a happy husband.. I tend to go up a few pounds and down a few pounds every now and then, but my clothing still fits. As long as I keep exercising, I find I can eat the occasional sweet treat. Today was kettlecorn. Yum!Last edited by Kris T.; 05-17-2008 at 03:08 PM.. |

Here's my before and almost after pics:
This was taken in 2004. Not sure what my weight was but I do know that I'd put on even more before finally losing. I think my highest weight was probably around 240 but when I saw 235 on the scale I quit getting on it. ![]() This was taken the beginning of this month. Not sure what my weight was but this morning I was at 150 and those 7's in the pic have been traded in for 5's. ![]() I still have another 30 pounds to go or so. I'm not really putting a magic number on it anymore. I figure when I can look at myself and say "I'm finally there" then I'll stop losing.

DBF told me the other day he can't believe how much I've changed since the first time he met me. I just don't see it. ![]() If I can do this anyone can. I had pretty much given up on myself then one day I just decided enough was enough. I made some pretty big changes -- the weight started coming off, my mind cleared, I started making me a priority and liking myself again, then ex and I decided to divorce. I think that's another big issue I also struggle with. I have a great BF who has a bit of an esteem issue ... because I lost weight and then the ex and I split he automatically thinks I'll leave him when I'm where I want to be. What he doesn't understand is that he's got a better me than I ever was in the past and I'm not going anywhere. I do things now, I'm out, I wear decent clothes, I enjoy being with people ... I think that also helps get the weight off. Personally, for me, weight loss is all in my mind. |

I'm laughing, because I was SO not the girly girl. I used to hate playing Barbies with my friends. I would always make up stories that involved them falling out of their mansion after being pushed by Skipper (that little brat) or falling off her horse and getting dragged to an untimely death. I preferred to do stuff with the boys in the neighborhood because they were always doing treehouse stuff, cross-country tag, kick the can. Now, go figure, I have a girly-girl of my own. She is SO into Barbie. Ugh. She even told me that she wants boobs like Barbie and me. Unfortunately, it's not in the genes, but it was worth every penny! ![]() |

Hi all. If you can handle another guy here, I'll share a few of my pix too. I lost about 95 lbs, and a great deal of depression as well.
Probably my heaviest and my most depressed state. You can just see the depression. One day I even nailed my size 48 pants on my wall so I could see how large I was. I used to have that photo.. ![]() This one, same period. You know when you "lay down" and your face slides to the side? ![]() ![]() _________________ recent on a hot day.. ![]() recent at work ![]() ![]() Last edited by pointboy; 05-19-2008 at 11:26 PM.. |

om wow Prozak. That is really the nicest thing to say. thank you so much.
I always find pictures so inspiring of people. They gave me hope. I guess that's why I posted mine as insecure as I am. I was housebound (agoraphobic) for almost two years until i 'grabbed a hold' of my life. Thank you again. Thank you too Ummrashid! Last edited by pointboy; 05-21-2008 at 12:04 AM.. |
