Just starting!

Hi, I am beginning Atkins today! I will turn 29 on Wednesday and I do not want to go into my 30's being overweight! Everyone looks great and all of your photos are so inspiring. I'll send updated photos as the pounds start to come off!

Smoke and Mirrors???

Hey All, I wanted to share a progress pic. I am not sure if this is smoke and mirrors because of the body armor I am wearing under my clothes or what. I feel like my shape is changing. My scale has only moved 3 lbs since these two pics taken 1 month apart but I know my new clothes are fitting better.

Wow you look great. It is amazing, because you look like you lost weight and it went to lenghten your legs. Seriously, your legs went from short to long and lean. WTG

Wow, You look great. How motivating. I just started Atkins again , did it about 4 yearss ago. Everyone said it was bad so I joined Weight Watchers, only lost 14pounds on that in 1 1/2years!! You motivate me to stay with Atkins. If you don't mind, what is your typical day of food?? Thanks, Jill

Jill, not sure if you're referring to me, but since I did WW and switched I will assume you are!

Typically I have the following:

B: Either a full-fat kefir/Fuzzy Navel whey protein powder smoothie, OR 2 pieces of Ezekiel bread, toasted with melted cheddar on top, OR a scrambled egg with cheese, and 2 strips thick-cut bacon. A cup of decaf with cream OR a cup of tea.

S: Decaf coffee with cream

L: Usually leftovers from dinner, OR a sandwich made on Ezekiel bread with salami and cheese, or tuna mixed with mayo; sometimes a small Red Delicious apple, OR a few pieces of dried chile mango.

D: Usually a meat of some sort, a veggie or two, and/or a salad with homemade vinaigrette. I.e., rotisseried chicken leg & thigh with the skin, ovenroasted green beans and a piece of butternut squash with butter - that was dinner Fri. night - or last night was spaghetti squash with meat/marinara sauce, a fried Monterey Jack cheese stick.

S: Sometimes I might have a snack after dinner, if I get hungry, which might consist of an ounce of raw nuts (LOVE walnuts!), OR half a cup of LC ice cream, OR a piece of homemade pumpkin bread or the like.

I bore easily so my menus change a lot for lunch and dinner.

I have no idea how many calories or carbs that is, I am at the point where I count neither - but I DO eat foods that I know to be acceptable on a low-carb plan and am very happy with my choices!
