Trying to get back on the low carb band wagon agian

Hello everyone I havent posted here in about seven months. I stopped doing Atkins about 7 months ago after I had lost 40 pounds and was doing great. I dont really know why I stopped but as soon as I did I started realizing I was feeling lazy and tierd and just bad. So now after gaining 20 of the 40 pounds I lost back I am going to give it another try.

Hi THere -
DH and I went back on Atkins on 1/5 for about the 3rd time in 2 years. The first time I lost about 15 in about 3 weeks, then went out to dinner one night and that was all she wrote. I gave up. Gained the weight back pretty quick. Then went on again for about 1 week, but my heart (or stomach) just wasn't in it. Gained even more weight. Then after xmas we decided that was it. I've lost 23 lbs since 1/5. I've got another 7 to go to reach my goal.

Best of luck and hang in there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Absolutely get back on the wagon now, don't be an idiot like I was and not get control until all the 25 lbs I had worked so hard to lose were back. I re-started jan 5 and am down 16 so far but if I had never fallen off the wagon in the first place I may have been at goal by now. You know you will feel better, and look better so heres a kick in the a** from me!

I did very good my first day. I ate alot of veggies and a steak and some hard boiled egg whites. YUM the suprising thing is I didnt even want what everyone else in my home was eating and I felt very full probably because those were the first low carb meals Ive had since september. I feel great and dont think doing this this woe agian will be very hard for me at all.

I fell off the wagon after Thanksgiving and have been off ever since.

Four months...

I gained back about six pounds. I guess I'm lucky that was all. I'm kind of surprised that's all I gained back.

I have 3.5 lbs to lose to get back to goal. I want to lose it before I go on vacation on March 15th. We'll see....

The sad thing about going off plan, for me, was that I really do miss eating casually. What I mean is, I miss being able to sit down at any meal and eat what's served. I miss being able to just grab whatever is in my kitchen. I don't mean crud, necessarily, I just mean *food*. I hate having to prepare and arrange every single meal.

BUT, I don't have a choice, because I cannot control myself around carbs. *sigh*

Good luck to all of us climbing back on the wagon....

Your post saved me today. I don't know why but I've been feeling so very discouraged. I'm not losing weight or inches as fast as I'd like and have so very far to go that I just had this attitude today of "why am I even bothering? I'll just be fat forever." Then I signed on this board, trying to keep my motivation and saw your post about gaining 20 lbs. back. Since that's all I've lost, I'd gain it all back. At least I'm not gaining at the moment, so I'll stick with the WOE.

I am adding more exercise this week, so maybe I'll at least see some inches lost soon. Thanks for inspiring me and good luck on your own LC journey

Well, I've been lurking on the boards for the past week or so getting up the courage to commit myself to a true restart. I lost 40 lbs. from 11/00 to 6/02. But then I went to the States after 6 yrs. away and lost control. I've gained back about 20 lbs. I never totally lost sight of my Atkins orientation though. It was just little cheats here and there. Now, even though I've been trying to get serious I think I've grown accustomed to allowing those little cheats and I can't quite get a grasp on this thing!!

I know this WOL is for me because NOTHING ever worked in the past and I feel totally BLAH! when I eat carbs. But I need to get on this wagon again and really get down to "0" carbs for a while so that my lazy 'ole body will begin to cast off this excess!

Thanks for posting! I'm right there with you! I'm desperate - but I need the support and determination that I see in everyone here
