Has anyone tried this program. I know it is expensive. My sister in law has lost 35 pounds and loves it. She like me has been on every program going. She lost on Atkins but this according to her is more variety

I did Michael Thurmond. It's a great program. I lost 30 pounds in 8-10 weeks. The problem for me was the limited food. Well, limited for me. I could not eat that way the rest of my life. No salt, no sugar, and the veggies I could eat I didn't really care for. I like broccoli, but I couldn't put anything on it. NO cheese, no dressing.
You also have to weigh or measure everything you eat. The good part was it got me used to eating 5 times a day, and that really helps rev up the metabolism. Your body gets used to eating often and you keep constant energy. I still like eating like that. He also stresses exercising and even has specific exercises for yoru body type and what needs working on. The whole system is based on your body type, where you gain weight and how you gain and lose. I was a body type B and my husband was a C. You eat foods based on your body type, he got a greater variety of food than me, and he got more protein at each meal. I could go on, but I won't. Tell her good luck. I hope she can stick to it better than I did.

WOE: Michael Thurmond's 6 Week Body Makeover!
Start Date: January 1, 2004 on the Thurmond Plan
|
Hi, I'm back on it at day two. I lost 30lbs in two months, but I thought I would give the ol' Atkins' plan another try. Well, I did and I gained 6lbs since May. I was afraid that I was going to slowly creep back up to 190lbs and be miserable all over again.
I finally woke up and decided I liked the 6wbmo program, especially since I got to eat all day. There's tons of recipes on his board and as far as the omission of salt goes, after a while, don't really miss it. You can use low sodium broth or lite soy diluted with water for a little flavor in your meals; even have dessert. There's tons of recipes for that, too. It revs the metabolism up so fast that after a few weeks you go off plan, you still manage to keep losing weight, but staying on-plan 100% is the key. It's only been two days, and I can already feel my body loosening up again--all in a 2-day span. I was feeling heavy and bloated while on Atkins. I guess when I did Atkins four years ago, my hormones were balanced and my body was shocked by the lack of so many carbs I used to eat and rapidly shed the excess weight. Now, Atkins just doesn't work for me. I'm sure it works fine for a lot of people on this board, just not me. Michael Thurmond's 6 Week Body Makeover program was an investment. I spent my money wisely and will stick with it. I know I will reach my goal of 135lbs in a matter of weeks.

I too am back on Michael Thruman. I feel less bloated and it does trulely limit fats but I do not see that as a bad thing. I am combing things that work for me. I can have fruits and I do not eat red meat but since Monday...7.5 punds down! I played with the sme 5 or 6 pounds with atkins for months. Don't get me wrong I see great success with atkins for my husband and several other people. It is just not for me. I played with south beach too and ending up gaining. Off to cook some chicken up!!!

YaHoo! Michael Thurmond!
Glad to see a fellow 6wbmo member! In just two days, I'm down a pound! I can hardly wait to see what's in store in a week from Wednesday when I resume my workouts.
Hey, let's start a 6 Week Body Makeover Thread and keep track of our success! Only 100% Eaters! I am soooo excited to have another person on this thread doing it, too! Have you been over to the 6wbmo forum? There's a thread run by a friend entitled "100% Eaters, Not Cheaters! We can have one over here, too. I already made my chicken for the next four days, but need to run to Trader Joe's and get more veggies and my fruit. Caio! ![]() |

I posted this to the other Michael Thurman threads also......... for those interested.
Any one interested ..... Michael Thurman will be back on HSN on May 23 and May 24. His program is not on the site right now because it sold out. It was the best buy for the money.... you got alot of extras, unfortunately I missed it.... I am considering ordering on this next try (if the offer is still as good as it was).... Is anyone going to start a regular posting of achievement with this program??? Just wondered, if I get it........ The Provida boards are informative, but, I like it here better!!!! Vicki
