Dear Low Carb Friends members,

On behalf of Tom's family, I would like to thank all of you for your kind words and prayers. We truly appreciate the support we have received since Tom passed away on November 9, 2009. Healthy living was Tom's passion and he devoted a lot of time as an Administrator to Low Carb Friends. He made so many friends here and enjoyed interacting with all of you. It is comforting to us to know that he was admired by so many of you and that you thought so highly of him.

As you may have read in his obituary and subsequent news article in the Examiner.com, Tom was diagnosed with Glioblastoma brain cancer in April. Tom was a very private person and chose not to disclose his illness to the public. Since his death, we have received many requests for ways to honor Tom. Brain cancer, as with any cancer, needs more funds for research. In that spirit, if you would like to honor Tom's memory, we request that memorial contributions be sent to The Musella Foundation For Brain Tumor Research. In life, Tom enjoyed helping people. In death, our hope is that Tom's memory can continue his passion for helping people. Although we will never understand why we lost our brother to brain cancer at such an early age, perhaps we will find comfort in the knowledge that his death brought much-needed funds for brain cancer research.

Rest assured that LowCarbFriends will continue as Tom envisioned it ... a place where people can support each other in their pursuit of a healthier lifestyle.
