looking for someone to email

Wow this board is great! Been on Atkins for close to a month and lost about 8lbs. The scale seems to go up and down a bit, which makes me nervous. Trying soo very hard. I am 35 and started at 182 lbs, would love to get down to 150. Getting married in the carribean in Nov..on the beach- slightly horrified. havent been in bathing suit in years. Would love to email someone who is in the same boat as me. Any advice would certain be appreciated.
Big thanks

You Can DO IT!!!

Hi Wendy:

Don't fret, take it one day at a time and you will get there.

Just knowing you are getting married on the beach will help keep you on the straight and narrow. Besides you want to be a "knock-out" when your groom sees you in your wedding dress.

Would love to pen pal with you.

Linda

Hi Wendy

I have been on and off Atkins since 2001, but just recently I decided that it is time for me to get serious about it now.

The weight is coming off, but I would have been finished had I taken it seriously in the beginning.

I can definitely see the changes in the body fat since I have been on it. I try not to weigh myself no more than once per month and take weekly measurements so I don't get discouraged.

It is much easier to stay focused when you have someone's shoulder to cry on. I just take it one meal at a time and one day at a time. If I keep my blinders on-- I can handle it.

So what I have started doing is exercising at least do something every day, at least walk 1 mile. If I feel really good, I will walk for 1 hour and I usually get in 3 miles by that time.

I have started doing Pilates Mat work and I also have the machine so that is definitely a challenge. I do feel taller as they say, some of the exercise on the machine are kind of hard, but I have to keep trying until I get it right.

BF: Flax-O-Meal with pat of butter and 3 sweetners, Green tea with 3 sweeteners and 1 quart of water.

Mid-Morning: 1 quart of water

Lunch: Sparerib tips

Mid- Afternoon 2 glasses of water

Dinner: Chicken Breast on Foreman Grill, and 1 cup broccoli and 1 cup of lettuce and 1/2 cucumber with Italian Dressing

Total carbs today: 16g

I find that drinking the water is the most challenging thing for me at this time. Certain days I can drink 3-4 quarts and others just 2 and am forcing that down.

Hope you are doing well with it, as I said you can e-mail me any time and I will get back to you.

Have a great lowcarb day.

Linda

Hi Trisha,
Having a few struggles with weight loss, and am a bit panicky about wearing a bathing suit in the carribean. Would love to hear more about how you did it all.
Thanks
Wendy

Hi Wendy

First of all you have not not worry about being a perfect 10 in the Carribean. Wait until you get there and see what's walking around in a bathing suit. You will feel much better about it then. Plus this is a special time for you so if your not down to the size you want by then...go and strut your stuff and have a wonderful time.
Where are you getting married?

Hi, I have weigh 184 lbs. and would like to get down to about 130-135 lbs. I am not getting married, but thinking about going on a cruise in the fall. I have tried Atkins before, but never long enough to really lose a lot of weight. I have been on Weight Watchers for awhile, but can only lose about a pound every couple of weeks or so. So, today, after talking to a couple of people last night who had lost a lot of weighit on Atkins, I decided I would try it once again. I really hope I can do it this time. I have a back problem and doctor has told me I really need to lose some weight. I do exercise, go to gym four times a week at least plus walk a lot, that used to be enough to help me lose weight, not not now that I am in my 40's!!

Would love some support as I try to go through this once again.
