STAY AT HOME MOM

I'm a stay at home mom also. I live in New Mexico. I have 2 sons. I gained all my weight with my pregnancies. I wanted to get back to a healthy weight before my 30th birthday. I'm now 25, 236/205/160 at 5'9". My husband and I want to have another baby, but I was afraid of gaining another 30lbs. Believe it or not, I weighed 140 when I got pregnant the first time.

Hi!
I'm a stay at home mom to one daughter and live in Las Vegas, NV. I am on day 6 of my induction. And though I don't find it too hard (I am a carb junkie but have not caved so far!!! ) right now, I'm lucky that DH is also on it. I got our pictures back from our last vacation and thought that they'd made a mistake! How on earth did that happen! So my goal is to be 135 (the weight I married at) by the time I'm 40. I'm 36. I did weigh 198 but went on a tortuous lowcal/lowfat diet that shed 20 pounds. Then it started to creep back on. Sigh. Still I'm looking forward to this journey and would love to keep in touch with you!

I tried the low cal thing...it lasted about 2 days. I was so desperate I took Metabolife, so did my mom (tho, she doesn't need it). I didn't lose a pound. When my mom and I quit taking it we both gained extra pounds. I gained 20! My mom has never had a weight problem, and she went up 4 sizes!
I've been doing Atkins since March 16th. My start date was supposed to be the 15th, but I gave in to temptation. I felt very dissapointed in myself. Then I realized, in my life, I've quit smoking, overcame anorexia (by far), given birth to two BIG boys....I can do anything I set my mind to. I'm stronger than a can of Pringles! I haven't cheated since. I won't say it hasn't been hard... I had a very hard time last week during Easter. Today is my sons birthday party, so here we go again.

Hi guys

Thanks for replying.. I did the low cal thing too . Actually I lost 40 pounds on weigh watchers before I got pregnant with my last child . Then I tried to go back on it and forget it . My metabolism must have changed big time because I could not loose a pound . I am on Day 6 of induction. The first few days I had a heck of a headache . I think its because of the lack of caffenine , I switched to de-caf....I do feel much better now though. I weigh for the first time tomorrow. I feel like I have lost ..lets hope so .

I would love to have my hubby on this too ..( he does not need it ) but it would make it easier to cook. Thats the hardest part for me . Having 4 kids and a hubby who like their breads and potatoes. I figure I will just have to learn to live with it ....

Anyways nice meeting you guys, And having the extra support is great ...

Hello ladies!

Hi! I liked reading all your posts...I too am a stay at home Mom, and like Irene, I have four young kiddos, and a sweet Hubby, all "normal" eaters! So I know how hard it is to face every day, every meal, it's a challenge! I have been on Atkins before, but I have just started yesterday induction again, and this time I want to go for the gold! I need the companionship and support, so I would love to keep in touch.
I am 29 years old, 5'6", and my goal is to be 150 by my 30th Birthday, in October. I want to do it, and I know that if I believe I can do it, I will. I started at 240, but this morning I was 235!! I think much of it was just the "water weight", but it was encouraging!
Keep up the good work and God bless you all in your care of your precious ones (who drive us crazy on a daily basis! Ha!)

MEASURE

If you go to the chat room I'm sure you've all heard this alot, but definatly make sure you measure at least your waist!!!!!! I've only been on since 3/16 and I've lost 7 in. off my waist! During the times that I don't lose, I can still measure and be reasured that I am still losing.

The thing I don't understand is.... I weighed myself Sunday and I was 206. Then I broke the rules and weighed myself this morning, the scale said 210 again?!?! Any ideas how this happend? I haven't started eating anything different.

Wednesday!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Today I am starting my 3rd Day on induction, and so far I am doing alright and not cheating. I get a little depressed on the first few days of induction, because I miss my old foods... Ha ha!

But I am happy because I am today at 234, which is 6 pounds for 2 days! Yay! I think a lot of it was just water weight, though, as I tend to "hold" water when I'm eating carbs.

Do you ever sometimes wish you were just normal, and could eat like a skinny person? That is one of my delusions I need to get over.

This site is GREAT, and I am so happy to be getting to know you all. I made a little list I keep by my computer, with everyone's names and stats and info, so that I can remember you and gain encouragement through your progress!

By the way, my real name--yes, on my birth certificate--is Whisper.

God bless you all!

Wow! Congratulations to all of you for losing pounds! It's such a great feeling! I haven't weighed myself in a couple of days (last time I'd only lost a pound) but I can feel the stuff just melt away. I'm learning to visualize a skinnier me. It's very hard since I didn't think I was fat to begin with! Anyway, I hope you have a great day! I'm off to take my daughter to school.
