Hi Melly

My name is Melissa & I am 30 years old & new mommy to my first baby Morgan. I have been doing this WOE for about a month now. I have lost about 10 lbs & counting. I have stopped weighing myself for a while, though because I was getting obsessed. I would like to lose 60 lbs (maybe more). I live in West Texas & also work full time. Maybe we can offer each other support in our challenges. I am planning on making this a lifetime commitment. Have you read Dr Atkins new diet revolution? Well, I better get back to work! Melissa

pen pal

I'd like a pen pal too! So please feel free to email me. I've been doing this WOE which to me is a WOL, since February 9. 200/172.5/105. 105 seems like an unrealistic goal sometimes, but I really did use to weigh that - and that was when my kids were 1 & 4 mos until about the time I met my second husband (and I was HAPPY again!!!) and we started eating our way through life!!! Anyway, I'm 36, my kids are 14 1/2 & 15 1/2. I love this way of life, but my husband, who is also sort of following it, but really just doing his own thing and losing like crazy, is always questioning everything and it drives me crazy. So I need someone level headed who believes in this to help keep me grounded. I'm also a devout Christian - and I pray daily that God will let me see results from my endeavors. So far He sure has! I've gone from a VERY tight 18 to a comfortable 16/tight 14. I'm so excited to buy clothes in the "normal size" area, instead of the animal print ugly stuff I always find in the "plus size" area.

I have two emails, my work on is: mwendzillo@mtmc.edu and my home one is wendzillo@gpnet.com. You'll get a much faster response if you email me at work

Hi again

Melly, I know what you mean about eating so much meat & cheese. You just have to get creative. There are a lot of great recipes here in the recipe rooms. I made a broccoli cheese casserole recipe I found here for Easter. It was yummy. Even all the non LCarbers loved it. Usually I don't have time to make much, though so I eat out for lunch a lot. Usually I will get a cheeseburger w/out bun & salad or buffalo wings w/ranch & celery or taco salad (no shell or beans). Tuna salad is good also. I wrap it in lettuce to make a "burrito". Sometimes it is frustrating when you just want to grab something fast. I like to keep some beef sticks handy or Atkins chocolate shakes. Unfourtunately I discovered the SF Russell Stover & Reeses chocolates. If you can avoid it don't get hooked on them like I did. I think they stalled me & (TMI, sorry) gave me the runs. This website is awesome, though. It's so good to know you're not going through this alone.

Well, I better get back to work now...talk to you all later! Melissa
