Diet started yesterday! UK dieter seeks penpal :-)

Hi everyone

I started the low carb diet yesterday, and discovered this site today

I'm female, 36 and live in the UK - and I think having a penpal who's also on the diet might just help me! I've a lot of willpower when it comes to most things, just hoping I can keep this up til I get the desired weightloss

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Best wishes,

Lulu

Pen Pal Seeker ~ ditto

I just started the first stage of the Atkins diet. This is my third time on this diet. I tried it for the first time 20 years ago and lost a good deal of weight; but then went back to my normal starvation and benging methods. Tried it again 3 years ago but only stuck with it for 7 days and started to cheat ...... landslide weight gain experience as a result of cheating.
In the past 4 years, I have gained 50 pounds. I have been blaming my anti-depressents and although the drugs may make weight loss a challenge; I now realize that the drugs are just an excuse for me to NOT try to lose weight.
This time around I threw out all my food and went out and bought the right low carb food according to many of the recipes on this web site.
It amazes me how far this diet has come along over the years. Twenty years ago there was no such thing as bread recipes, bulletin boards, or the internet for that matter. I am really looking forward to the diet this time around.
I am not pinching my pennies either; I am spending a lot of money to buy the right food and I am vigorously reminding myself to drink WATER.
I have also come to realize that I am a Carb Addict. Although I like somersize and carbo addicts diets; I am unable to stick with those diets because for me ... I need the induction process! I am such an addict that I need to rid my body of carbs as much as possible (jump start my system). The other diets allow me the carbs right from the get go and I too easily stray ....
I'm on day #3 and I am really enjoying buying all these new ingredients. The toughest part of this diet is that I love ....... juice. To substitute the juice, I purchased the flavored seltzer waters, crystal light and purchased some of atkins sugar free flavorings for ice crushed smoothies and flavoring for my coffee.
My biggest challenge is finding something to put in my coffee that will make it white with 0 carbs. Any advise on this topic would be great !!!
Good Luck All. I enjoy hearing from EVERYONE. (beachome@yahoo.com) ......... Lincoln City, Oregon
