31 F. Military wife seeking penpal - 50 pds to loose

Hey everyone,

My name is Krista, I'm currently stationed in Ft.Leonardwood , Mo.

I'm looking for a penpal who can help share in my 50 pd weight loss!

I find that support , encouragement, advice,& tips are key & vital to staying focused and living this lifestyle that we all know works.

I've lost weight a few yrs back through Atkins, and have had several friends who have as well. Yes I am !!!!! Sorry for my late response ! I had to go out of state due to a death in my family. LCing has def. been a challenge with this going on, but I'm still trying my hardest! ..... Are you still interested in the job lol ?

Hi Krista -- I was late responding to your original post as well, and thought that maybe you had given up waiting for someone to respond! I kept checking, though! Glad to hear from you, but sorry to hear about the sad news of a death in your family. Sure, I'm still interested! I'll be glad to have someone to "talk" to along the way. I try and check this site every morning so I'll look forward to hearing from you again.

Oh what a nice surprise to wake up to, Thanks Dear, I sure would a appreciate your knit square. I'm hoping for lots moreas my son said he'll make a track the entire wall length attached close to the ceiling and I'm hoping to cover the entire wall before Christmas, so the more the merrier, I appreciate your offer so much! I'm hoping that this weekend that our (invisible friends), I don't like the word lurker, will pop in and say they are pleased to become a part of my Friendship Wallhanging. Over the many years so many have come out to say hello and it was very heartwarming, I remember when I lurked and it felt very lonely to me. So please everyone come on in your friendship square is so important to me.

One of my friends is decorating a 9"x 9" square of felt and is going to sew her name in sequins, so for anyone with the will can find a way. I expect that others will want their own wall hanging and we will have a lot of LCF with a project on the go. I'm working on crocheting squares too, however most days my fingers are narled up making my progress very slow.

I still haven't found the black yarn for joining the pieces, I'd give anything to have a trip to the mall.There are so many friends here that I'm hoping to hear from, and they know whom they are!

Hi Krista - Did you have a good weekend? Mine was OK, but I'm kind of glad it's Monday to get back into the routine! As I seem to do every Monday, I'm trying once again to successfully get back into the Atkins lifestyle -- instead of just low carbing "hit or miss" they way I've been doing it for a while. Like you, I lost weight through Atkins a few years ago but have since put most of it back on. It just seemed to be easier that first time. Maybe I was in a better frame of mind, or just had more time and was able to be more committed. I don't know ... I guess I'll just get started again today (and hope the cute little girl next door doesn't come over with a batch of freshly baked Oatmeal Chocolate Chip cookies like she did yesterday!) Great hearing back from you. I along with you am trying to get back in the swing of things, since being away from home for a while. How I managed to still Lc while being gone is beyond me ! I'm down to 182 and started at 196 I believe ....... How are you doing ? I was trying to figure out how to add you to my friends list, its been so long since I've used this site , i'm trying to figure it all out again lol................. Krista

Thanks! I have a very busy and hectic day ahead of me and I have to admit i've already caught myself twice almost picking up stuff I don't need! But now i've got my cofffee and i'm settled in at work. Just the rest of the day to keep myself on track!!

Hey Ladies,

So my day went well ! I didn't weigh and haven't for a few days ( battery on my dig scale went out ) maybe that's a good thing, I tend to over " do it " in the weighing myself dept.........

So for the past few days all I've craved are huge chef salads ! ...... I will occasionally since I've started at a few lc tortillas, and lc bread, which I don't over do , but will like I said occasionally have, and have found that it hasn't hurt my weight loss, I haven't lost as quickly this time as I'd hoped but due to my being out of state, and the circumstances I was under feel I've done well, by staying on it as much as possible, the only thing I haven't cut out is my diet pop, which is like coffee for me , since I'm not a coffee drinker ( though I certainly wish I was lol) I love the smell of it, but can't handle the taste, so that is my weakness.

I haven't ate sweets in the past 10 yrs, so I don't have a problem in that category, but do with starchie foods, such as white steamed rice , breads, pastas , chips etc etc .... Anyways, that's a lil more about me, and my day Hope all of yours went great !

Hey Jnn,

So sorry to hear you've had a " Weird" week. I can very much so relate to that, mine hasn't been " weird" but bad to be honest! ....... I'm staying on the LC plan as much as possible, however was a bit frustrated today when it showed I gained three pds rather than lost ....

I had to tell myself it was not that I wasn't losing fat, but gaining musc.! lol

Anyways, how much have you lost so far ? And what was your starting weight ?............ I was at like between 202 , or 197 my scale kept weighing me one way one min, and the next differently. I just stuck with the heavier of the two numbers..... I'm at 180 now ............. [/U]

Sorry I haven't been checking in -- I've been sick with a terrible sore throat and then a bad cold for the past week. I felt so horrible that I just ate whatever was handy -- my head hurt so bad I couldn't even think clearly! That was a set back! I still don't feel great, but was able to get back on plan yesterday -- finally! Had a pretty good day eating-wise, just didn't drink enough. I'm not a big fan of water and always have to force myself to drink - anything. Hope to do better today with the drinking and keep the eating on plan again, too!

I know what you mean about the starchy foods, Krista! I love Ruffles and bread and crackers -- you know what I mean. I'm not big on candy, but I do have a weakness for donuts and cake (well, baked goods in general!).
