WOE: Low Carb
Wanted: Low carb Buddy Needed!!!

Hi, Looking for 1 or 2 low carb buddies to keep me honest in my weight loss goal. I have experience with lowcarbs but have gained 10kgs since the start of 2009 "Boy have I lost the plot". I'm vacating in the Mediterranean in October and need to hit at least 100 kgs before I go...any extra (weight loss) would be a bonus.

I'm in my late, late 40's - height 5' 11'' and currently 116kgs...I know I can do it (loose the weight) but need some friends to "keep me on the pathway". I intend to post weight reports at least 4 times per week to help achieve my goal. Of course I will also support you in your efforts to lose or maintain a healthy weight and would like to continue the buddy partnership even after the vacation as my true goal weight is about 90 kgs. Your support would be a great boost for me.

PS. Sorry...New Zealand changed to the metric system in the late 70's so don't know (forgot) my weight equivalent in pounds. Cheers Pete.

Hi Pete,
I'm needing to lose about 75 pounds. Glad to cheer you on to your goal as I head for mine. By the way, New Zealand is a really beautiful place. Do you see a lot of parrots?

Hi Pete - I started a thread similar to yours on lastnight. I too am looking for a buddy. I just had a baby and lost 22 pounds as of today. My mini goal is 199. My ultimate goal is 160-150. I'm not a stranger to Atkins. I lost 72 pounds in the past and maintained until 2007. I got married last August and put on a lot of weight + got pregnant . Anyways, I'm focused again and sure I will reach my goal soon. My husband lost 62 pounds since our marriage and he looks good! I want to look good along with him.

Best wishes to you on your journey! You can do it!!

Hi Francis and Meekness...thanks alot for your replies. Im quite happy to work with both of you for our common goal of weight loss. I have recently seen my LC advisor and he was glad to see me...."been a while" he said. If you like we can make suggestions on how to support and encourage each other. If this okay with you I'll await your response.

Yes Francis...New Zealand is very beautiful...you'll enjoy these 2 Islands if you make it here. We certainly have some native birds of the parrot family Kea, Kaka and Kakariki...and perhaps others. Some can be seen near cities but most in bush or highland areas.

Hey Meekness congrats....on your wedding and baby. Yes the big day and an up coming baby will usually make you go off course. Well!...if your willing to go down the lowcarb way again...I'll walk the path as well. Looking forward to catching up with you both. Cheers.

Hi Guys,Just checkin in.

Yes I'm in for the low carb way Pete. I feel the very best when I eat this way anyway. Today I've done one Cambridge soup and I plan One more and finishing the day with eggplant grilled in egg and flaxmeal with sauce to dip in and my yummy lowcarb pizza. Actually nocarb pizza. Or maybe one carb. I just fry some cheese till brown then add sauce to the top. Today I may put some mushrooms in it. Let it cool a little and it will hold it's own shape. It's as good as pizza to me.
Well have a nice day, and let's do this

Hi Ladies...Glad that we can team up as weight loss buddies. Unfortunately...I'm currently in Hospital at the moment and maybe here for another 1 or 2 days (nothing serious). So...I'm somewhat restricted to Hospital food....yes you guessed it... high in carbs. I had some cornflakes and milk this morn but left the orange juice, sandwhich and apple. My partner did bring in Spinach and cold cut beef for lunch which was great and for dinner I had meatloaf...left alone the potato mash, carrots, gravy and bread. Drank plenty of water and a few carbless sweets. Stuck in a room with little option to exercise or walk around. Will be back on course as soon as i'm out of here. Soon as I get home I'll weigh in and post up. Keep up the good work...Peter.

down 4 pounds this week. Yeeeeh! Your doing good Pete in the hospital. I would have eaten all their carbs most probably. My justification would have been they don't give you much.

Hi everyone...back again...apart from being diagnosed anaemic...all is good...so far. (Now I know why I felt constantly tired, washed-out and cold). Just one more examination to go...but that will be as an out-patient. After downing seafood high in iron yesterday...got stuck into the exercise today ...heaps of energy and fully back into the carb-rehab phase. Will report progress regularly now that I've settled properly. By the way how is everyone doing? Pete.

I've had a few to many cheat days and ready to be real.

A good way to get Iron Pete is by cooking with cast iron. It really helps.

Hey Francis...Yes we do cheat from time to time and yes we often need to get ourselves "back on the horse" because we know that the weight can just peel off with even 2 weeks worth of perseverance...and thanks for the cooking tip...I remember when cast iron pots were quite popular in my childhood days...but hard to find these days.

Did an hour's worth of easy exercise tonight and have been eating properly for the last 2 days...weigh in tomorrow morn and will post asap. I'll progressively intensify my exercise and maintain the rehab phase for the next 2 weeks. I've got 44 days 'till I fly out to Europe...so still aiming to lose 10 to 15 kgs before I go. Keep up the good work ladies...if you falter...don't beat your self up...get back on the rails instead. Peter.

Weighed in today at 115.7kgs down from 116.7kgs so I have lost 1kg (2.2lbs) since Sunday (today is Tuesday in NZ). No doubt part of that is water loss...but am heading in the right direction. Currently on target. How is everyone doing?

Good afternoon ladies...just over 1.1 pounds loss today now 115.1 kgs. However, my friends birthday today and thus over indulged at his birthday lunch...2 exercise sessions was therefore required 1 already completed and another will be done tonight. Noticed stamina and fitness increasing so not too huffed and puffed as when I first started exercising. Hope everyone is doing well. Pete.
