Hi Kathleen. Thank you so much for reaching out to me. I greatly appreciate it.

Brick, NJ is in Central NJ right next to both Toms River and Point Pleasant.

However, I am planning to move soon to elsewhere in NJ because the city Brick has gotten so bad. Especially the apartment house I live in.

Well I really look forward to hearing from you my dear sweet lifelong friend.

You take care and god bless you.

Warmly yours,
Chris

All right Chris.
I have friends that live in NJ but not near you. So, new to LC. I have been doing this off and on for about 6 yrs. mostly off

I would suggest that you browse and reply to any threads that interest you.
Also, look on the main board and try to find the threads that are for areas. you might be surprised to find a friend that lives near you on one of them
Any questions?

Hi! I'm game. I just signed up today. I don't even know where to start. I am a 36 year old married female who's been stuck in a rut! I am currently at 152 pounds (192 was my highest a few years ago). I got down to 140 last year but it crept back up when I moved to MS. I lowered my calories and it didn't help so I am thinking low carb might help....What's your story Chris?

Hi DaniMae, it's a pleasure to meet you.

Well DaniMae, I love exercising. Aerobics is my favorite, along with weight lifting and swimming.

My weight gone up and done over the years. I lost 40 pounds total this year but gained 20 back. I just wanna get rid of it, all of it. Even more than I ever did before. I love staying in great shape.

I think low carb is a great way to get help to get in great shape and make friends, hence the title. LOL.

Well my lifelong friend, as I made a great number on here as well. You take care and I always look forward to hearing back from you.

See ya later on.

Warmly yours,
Chris

Hi Kat! I live in Lucedale. It is terrible here. No jobs no gyms no life. Been here for about 5 months. I came here from Norfolk Virginia and I really miss it there! I used to go to the YMCA every day. We plan on either moving back there or to Orlando Florida sometime in the near future. I love Orlando! I don't get a whole lot of exercise here. I bought a cheesy bike/elipticall thing but it isn't very good. I do use my perfect pull up thing and my different weights and medicine balls.

Hey there Chris!
So you love exercising...I did too! Before I left Virginia that is. Not much to do here in Redneck hell. Too hot to go out. No gym to go to. I am getting outa here soon though! We are on our way to Orlando in the winter! Yay! Can't wait!

How long have you been doing the low carb thing? I haven't been doing it really at all BUT I have lowered my carbs a lot. And I have seen a drop of about 6 pounds or so. How much have you lost just doing low carb? I lost about 50 a few years ago just by lowering calories and exercising a lot...but it stopped working.... and then I came here.

Dani

you don't need to pay someone to exercise. I have some wonderful tapes that I use. also, the best way to work you muscles is by using your own weight. go walking or jogging around the watermelon fields!

I joined the Y here in Thomasville and have not gotten out of it what I really wanted. It's hard to go there by yourself ( I have found) but I am hoping with this "boot camp" training that i am doing for the month of july will kick start me to go and do something at least every day. the only thing at the Y that I REALLY want to do and have not done yet is to go swimming.

congrats on any weight loss and inmporving the sefl-esteem

Hi again Kat! I loved my Y in Norfolk! It was huge with 6 floors. 2 floors of cardio equipment alone! I went every morning after I took the kids to school. I prefer to go alone. No distractions that way. I can't do aerobics in my house. Too small. I have a step thing that I use in my room sometimes. The floor in there is solid plywood so the house doesn't feel like it is going to fall apart. I just noticed that our stats are similar. I was 160 a few weeks ago and am 151 now and my goal says 130 but I'd like 125 much better! I checked out the Linda's website....good recipes~ I'll try some after my vacation to Orlando next week~Roller Coasters! Yay!

I wish is was 151. 157 last i looked. by doing the "boot camp" training program I am hoping to look a little better in my clothes. I don't need to see lots of weight loss but i would like to see less FLAB. arms, stomach, thighs. you know, woman area problems

Chris, you staying busy?

Dani, orlando is great fun. I really like the universal and not disney. but some parks in Disney are fun to me. I like epcot and the safari parks. but universal is (in my opinion) more of an adult park. but who am I.

the best thing of all the parks is that you use lots of energy walking. and you don't really mind it.

Hi folks.

I'm so sorry I have not posted here in a long time.

Kat, it turns out that I've been extremely busy this past week. WOW!

I have business calls and opportunities to contend with as I will be starting my own business very soon! If things turn out well.

I am running around all over the place, everywhere! So at least I get alot of exercise that way. LOL.

Good to hear that you are doing great with your life Kat.

DaniMae, I'm so sorry you hate it where you live now. But, I am happy that you are moving elsewhere very soon. I wish you good luck on your move and I hope you enjoy your new home.

I have been extremely busy like I mentioned to Kat with my business opening up soon, if the deal does not go sour.

I have a hard time exercising in my apartment now. Too cramped. I hate it. I am planning to move elsewhere in NJ very soon. Hopefully to southeast Jersey right by the shore.

I agree that videotapes and dvds are perfect for exercise. Weight training ones are great! I love them.

I did a partial low carb diet and that contributed to my 40 pound loss in the last 6 months.

Well you two, that's it for now. I will be back later on I promise.

You take care. Thank you so much for checking in.

Warmly yours,
Chris

Hey Kat! I thought by your stats that you were 151. My scale said 152 this morning but I don't let it bother me. My weight goes up and down 1 to 4 pounds all the time.

We are going to see Blue Man Group in Orlando. I don't know if we are going to any parks yet but I love Universal! The Blue Man thing is a meet and great where we get to meet the performers, have a q & a session, a little brunch, and we get to watch the sound check. It is fun. We went last year too.

Good luck on the business Chris! My husband wants his own plumbing company, but the hoops you have to jump through for a contractor's license are insane. Maybe one day.....I do cleaning, so if I ever move back to a city I might start up my cleaning business again....I worked for myself in Norfolk and made good money.

Okay so after I get back I am going to get serious on this low carb diet! I am going to do the whole induction phase and everything. Can't wait! Talk to you guys later!

Yeah I have the same problem! Not sticking to any one plan long enough....I got back up to 160 awhile back, but it is slowly working it's way back down. My cat is Snuggles...appropriatly named! He loves long hair! He likes to curl up in mine and sleep. I have another cat too. Her name is Chloe...she's fat! And I have birds. I'll have to post some photos. You have pets?

Cute doggies! I'd like a dog but the orange cat hates dogs with a passion. I'll post some pics when I get home next week. Can't wait to ride some coasters! But low carbing is very hard at amusment parks. Oh well...will jump in full force when it is over!

Are your parakeets friendly? I have one (Zig Zag) And I have a love bird (Rainbow) who is so pretty and lovable! My other bird is a port lincoln...he is from Australia (bought in Virginia). His name is Jake. He is beautiful. Well gotta finish packing!

my keets only like each other. My cats tolerate the dogs and the dogs use the cats to bark at. well except Max, he can't really hear what is going on anymore. just takes cues from Mia.
Have a good time on ORLANDO! brign sunblock!

I'm back~I miss Orlando already!

Well Orlando was a total blast! Went to Universal (both parks), saw Blue Man Group...got to go to a private meet and greet with 30 other people...fun! Ate tons of garbage....rode lots of rides, I love coasters! I think I only gained 1 pound from all the junk food. Burned off most of the calories with all of the walking I did! I am soooo ready to start my low carb diet. Guess I'll start using the journal I started. How did you do the past week?

What's up Chris?!

Hi Kat. Sorry I haven't posted much. I mostly been posting in my journal. My only news is that my weight is 150.2 this morning and it had been 150.8 for a few days. I just can't wait to see it say 149! Then we'll just go from there.

Hi! I wondered where you have been! I've never played that game. I get bored easily playing computer games. It makes me feel sleepy....so have you put weight back on? On Friday my weight was 149! Yay! But now it says 150 again....boooo!!!! I'm trying to exercise more. I have a step thingy I use while watching tv and use my weights. I found some good exercise videos on You Tube too. Let's say my abs are killing me this morning from doing "Planks" last few nights! Guess I need to give it a rest.

Still hate MS! Making our plans to move to Florida in March or so. (after tax time!) There are tons of jobs in the paper for the Orlando area. So I am hopeful. I'd love to work at Universal Studios! Doing anything!!! It has been humid here but not too bad. Stormy weather mostly.
Get back on the ball!!!!

Dani,
weight back on? not really, but not losing it either. I really need to watch what I eat.
Universal sounds like fun. but I can't live off that kind of $.
Orlando itself should be fairly amazing. but remember...that if you are looking so are a lot of others. make sure you sell yourself cause nobody else will.

started a cardio/kickboxing class at the y. OMG! my calves hurt the worst. I got there late and am sure that i did not stretch properly.

why after tax time?

Well, it is not as expensive to live in Orlando as you'd think. It is dirt cheap here in southern MS...BUT the jobs pay WAY under normal, and the county I live in is very scarce on jobs. I moved here from the Nofolk/Va. Beach area. A 3 bedroom apartment in a decent neighborhood was from $1000 to $1800 a month. 3 bedroom apartments in Orlando are $700 to $1000. And they are like luxury places with multiple pools, gated entries, fitness centers, computer centers, etc....All I do is clean stuff. One of the easiest jobs to get! My hubby is a plumber of 15 years so he should be good too. We gotta get out of here!

Glad to hear that you haven't actually put any weight on! I loved they Y in Norfolk! I am going to try walking a mile or 2 each night. I can make loops around my yard. It is 6 acres...no problem! Starting tomorrow I am going to try nothing but meat and veggies....with my Atkins shake too. I drink those for the vitamin and mineral content. If I lose even 1 pound I'll be a believer in low carb! (that would be 148). We'll see. The worst thing is having to cook something different for everyone else.

Dani, and what took you to MS? they only problem with Orlando is of course the iffy weather. right in the middle of hurricans alley.
you don't have to fix anything different. you just can't eat the carbs. so, meat, veggie and a carb will do the others fine.
let me know who you are doing.

oh.. want to join my other group?

I am in a hurricane zone now. Near the coast of MS. And I came from a hurricane zone in Va. Beach too so that doesn't really bother me. I am used to it. We moved here due to the fact that we hit a very rough patch in Virginia. Our interest rate went up so high that we could no longer afford the payments. Sure we would have liked to refinance to a low rate but we needed a whole new heating system. No one would finance us unless we got that done. Like we could just pull thousands of dollars out of the air! My mom's "boyfriend" had a house down here that he is renting us ridiculously cheap! But we hate it so we are scrimping and saving till tax time so we get the hell out of here.

I'd like to join your other group but I am not anywhere near 55 yet! 19 more years to go....is that okay?
