Jennifer I drink 2 Tbs in 8 ounces of warm water, this is about 1 hour after I drink juice from a whole organic lemon in Hot water.
I am in this to lose this time.

See, I just have to hug you after saying that
In fact I am quite jealous of your riding time. My girls live 6 hours away at my parents farm. I grew up riding long distance trail ride competitions, 60 miles in a weekend (NATRC) so had no problems with getting enough exercise back then. Miss it so much.

Haha thanks! In April it will be 12 years for us.

Here is my funny for today:

So I'm in the drug store. The cashier looks at my purchases (anti-nauseau meds, anti-diarrea meds, pedialyte, mega pack of clorox wipes and a big box of tampons) raises an eyebrow looks up at me and says drily "bad day?"

Catching up....

Hi Everyone! Welcome to Marlene and Molly... I hope I haven't missed any other new people. If I did my apologies.

I need to catch up... three questions to answer and Wednesday report, too!

Question of the Day ~
What rewards will you give yourself when you achieve mini-goals or your ultimate goal?

I'm not sure... I think I will buy or do something special when I get below 200. I was thinking I wanted a scooter or new bike, but I'm not sure. I'll make up my mind then. When I reach my final goal, I'm want to go do something wild and crazy... maybe parasailing... who know! something Fun!!!

Question of the Day ~
Do you do all of your exercise at once or do you break it up throughout the day?

Both... break it up and all at once! I walk my dog in the morning, after work and before bed. Sometimes instead of the after work walk we go to the dog park. Swimming I do all at once--30 or more laps, water jog and upper and lower body water resistance. Water Aerobics are 45 min sessions twice a week.

I work from home 2 days a week, but in my office the ohter three days, I have a stepper on high resistance under my desk, which I use off and on during the day to strenghten my knees.

I have to leave it here for now... more later... I have a water aerobics class at 7 p.m.

Hi ladies!

Wheew, what a day! It really went well until I had one of the techy folks over at my desk to ask them a question about my Blackberry.... OMG, where's my Blackberry! I wanted to run out of the building and check the car, go home and look *screaming and running in circles* !!!

BUT, could I, no I had to chat with the Boss and he was very chatty....45 minutes later... *run to the car* - nope not there.... *drive home and am surprised I didn't get a ticket* ahhhh, there the little baby is, sitting on the counter! I have decided I need to NOT use the clip thing and instead stick it in my purse *sigh*!!!!

So, anyway!

So far so good this morning. We will see. Have more laundry to do. I bagged what didn't fit in washer (and I have a big capacity front loader) and put on back porch to get the sick smell out of house.
Oh..so sorry! I remember those days (nights) so well! I'm glad mine are grown now and take care of that all themselves!

Went bowling with DD15, so calling that my excercise for yesterday.
Sounds like you are doing well! I'm thinking if I can get to 15 lbs from goal by summer I might add a few berries when they come into season.

That's where mine tends to fall pretty naturally after nearly 2 years of Atkins.

GREAT!!! That's awesome congrats on the lose!

I've been trying the to use smaller bowls/plate to help with the illusion of more food...it really does help! I think it's going to be a lot of practice and patience to begin! Eating large portions is so much a bad habit.

I agree, it's a bad habit, and I try smaller servings but I just fill them up again. It does get frustrating sometimes!

I remember when I was in high school and my sister and friends would go to Taco Time and get a soft taco and share the mexifries...when I was at my heaviest, I'd get 2 tacos and eat the whole box of fries. I think I've taken that same "I need a big piece of (fill in the blank)" with me and I'm really trying to break that habit! Eat to satisfy, not to get full is my new mantra!

My sister was always a picker. We'd go out to dinner and she wouldn't even touch her drink until her food came. I'd down mine in the first 5 minutes. It's strange how different 2 kids from the same parents can be.

The Exam is for a Project Management Professional designation for work. The application process is a bear, you have to recreate about 7500 hours worth of project management experience to go with your application...and then study for the exam!

Good luck--I take it you would get a nice promotion upon completion??

So, the big news are these parts are the floods. We had a bunch of snow most of December and now we're getting warm air and lots of rain (all the way to the mountain passes).

I'm taking my camera to work so I can get some pictures around our area, I'll post them later so you can see.

I'd love to see them!

And just because I've been a little lax on posting my exercise: let it be known I have exercised 6 of the last 8 days! w00t!

WTG! That is awesome! I'm good to get in 3-4 days a week!

Question of the Day ~
What is your favorite outdoor activity?

My favorite outdoor activity is golf. I know how to play and I'm just learning to swing a club. I love it, but stink at it. I have ZERO natural athletic ability. The activity I do outdoors the most is jog.

I did great with my eating yesterday.

Meal1: 1oz. steel cut oatmeal, 2 scrambled eggs with 1T of mayo, mustard, and spices

Meal 2: 1oz. of walnuts

Meal 3: Large green salad with veggies, feta cheese, tuna with mayo, balsamic vinaigrette dressing

Meal 4: 1 Green Apple

Meal 5: Medium green salad with mushrooms, red peppers, hot peppers, tuna with mayo, 1 hard boiled egg, 1 ham cube, 1 turkey cube, red vinegar, black pepper

Meal 6: 13 almonds

(Trying to gain muscle and I've been encouraged to eat more.)
I'd love to start riding a bike again! The last time I did, it killed my rear end! You'd think with the padding I have it wouldn't, but it did!

And I wear a little Spanx-type products under my swimsuit -- YEP!! (but from Mervyn's) Holds the flabby tummy in MUCH BETTER and then I don't feel so self-conscious.

And my swimsuit has an "old lady" skirt 'cause of the lymphedema in my left leg. It's not perfect, but I think I pull it off without looking too much like a whale...and you will too, my dear!

You are so dang pretty and you have come SO FAR in your journey -- now you get out there and flaunt that new hot body of yours!!

My swimsuit is ALWAYS on my mind 'cause of our Kona Condo (Kona Tiki Condo on the Big Island of Hawaii) we go over to Hawaii a few times a year and I just hate going when I've "gained"!! you know how it's "easier" for people to notice a gain/loss when ya haven't seen them in a few months...plus I have to hang around all my slim & tan & very fit friends -- while I'm fat & white -- lemme tell ya, THAT is a great motivator to never get too far off track!

Of course they love me, fat or skinny, but as we all know, we have a LOT more self-confidence when we feel "good" about how we look. And I have been at an uncomfortable weight that NO swimsuit skirt was ever gonna hide!

Kim, you're gonna have such a GREAT TIME on the LCF Cruise!!
I so wish I could go this year, but, no $$$

ANYWAY I'm definitely going next year & REALLY looking forward to THAT w/ Y'ALL!

AND looks like Lisa/Lei are talking about it for their Group too!
Hey! (wonder where they got THAT idea...hmmm? )
Hey! What say we make a little Challenge to Challenger "wager" with them??
Something "redeemable" on the 2010 LCF Cruise??

Like whichever Team loses the highest % of weight...
...gets to have the other Team buy all the Pina Coladas for them at the pool??
(one or two days or the entire trip??)

I'd say that we'd bet a Dinner but the Food is included.
Unless we do an off-ship, in-port Dinner??

WHAT DO Y'ALL THINK OF THAT IDEA ??
Good be very motivating for us to Just Do It this year !!
I do have a swimsuit from this summer and a nice cover up dress. I'll wear it, and I will know how far I've come. I don't care that much what other people think anyway....

A challenge sounds great! I have been inviting everyone! I think the more the merrier!

It might have to be a in port lunch, most of the time you have to be back on ship by 3-5 pm. Pina Coladas sound good too--love them but not LC! Michelob Ultras with lime would work too!

Food today:

B--2 eggs, 3 oz ham, 2 T salsa (2 carbs)
L--chicken breast with funky alfredo type artichoke caper sauce and green beans with onion and bacon (13 carbs)
D--chicken and beef fajita meat/veggies (10 carbs)

Had to estimate carbs as I was out for both meals...

No exercise today.

Got some interesting news this week--A few months ago the Atkins people gave me a little cash for my weight loss "success" story and put it on their website. They called this week and said they were putting it in US Weekly next week I think . I wish now I'd given them better pictures...lol.

Have a great night,
Kim

Just back from the pool... full hour of water aerobics... tough workout... I am really going to be hurting tomorrow. I swam 30 laps after class.

Now back to catching up on my late homework...

Question of the Day ~
What is your favorite outdoor activity?

My favorite outdoor activity is the same as my favorite indoor activity, swimming! I like walking in the woods with my dog and finding a quiet spot to sit reflect and read. I also love canoeing and water rafting. Thanks, for reminding me of horseback riding. I love that too! I haven't gone riding in years... maybe that should be one of rewards when I reach a major milestone.

Wednesday report:

I only lost .4 lbs this week. But I have lost 4.4 lbs since Christmas so I am not too disappointed. That is still an average of 2 lbs a week.

My jeans are getting loose. I tried on the new jeans, one size smaller. I can get them on, but just barely. Can't until they fit comfortably.

Excercise wise, not so good. I walked my dog everyday and went to the dog park two days. But I only got in one swimming session this week, before I left for my sister's. There were no water aerobics classes last week due to the holidays. I missed Tuesday's class this week because of the ice storm.

I think I am caught up on my homework!

I haven't figured out the quoting yet... Hummingbird: Quitting smoking is really tough. Hang in there! I quit many many years ago and it was really tough. I still occassionally have dreams in which I'm smoking... really weird!

You all are doing so well. I'm really proud and inspired by you!

Oh you are going to love it! It's very simple and the feeling you get shushing along, with the big 'ol sky above your head, and the critters running around in the woods - it's the best. My wasband and I would cross-country all the time. He would blaze the trail and I would follow behind in his tracks.

Be prepared to get very very hot. Dress in layers that you can easily remove, zippers you can pull down etc. I remember one day skiing in my bra because I had gotten so hot! LOL! When that sun is shining and the wind isn't blowing you will create lots of heat because you're working pretty hard.

Jeez I miss it! I still have my skis, but it hasn't snowed as I said.

I'd love to start riding a bike again! The last time I did, it killed my rear end! You'd think with the padding I have it wouldn't, but it did!

I have that problem too when I ride with kids. Even bought a gel seat cover. Ouch still. Serious booty ache. I thought it was just me though.

DD kept getting worse during day and by dinner had a fever. Every time she drank it was bouncing back faster and faster. Sat her down on couch with liquid tylenol and a bit of gatorade. Tiny sip each. Wait 5 min. Tiny sip each. Wait 5 min. Repeat. Took an hour to get the 2 tsp tylenol down but it stayed. Broke the cycle. Tucked in bed, slept all night. She feels better this morning. Fluids staying down. She's perkier. So far seems no one else sick.

HOORAY!!

My menu for yesterday:

M1 - Eggaccino
M2 - Beef n' broccoli slaw & hb egg
M3 - Chef Salad

Oh good...that sounds awesome and I'm so excited!! I have heard about the lots of thin layers, and we're prepared with that sort of outdoorwear! Can't wait!

You should be proud of yourself!!! You can do this!!

Since Friday is usually a kickback night (with booze), are you going to do anything differently to prepare yourself for tonight?

HOORAY!!

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!
Poor thing! But, I'm glad she was finally able to get the med's to stay down and that she is feeling better!!! And that no one else has gotten sick!

Plan for the day....not much really - but, it'll be an interesting day at work.

We have hired a consultant that our project team met with earlier this week. He seems to have a slightly different picture of the project and his role. Let's put it this way, 4 out of the 6 people attending felt the team was dismissed from the project. I talked to the project sponsor and he didn't feel the same, but thought it might be a misunderstanding....hummmm. We have another team meeter today with the sponsor attending, so, we'll see!

Home will be quiet, maybe out to dinner and a movie. But, I have to keep up my studying routine, so I'll have to make time for that, too!

Exercise: rest day yesterday and today will be 40 min on the treadmill and p.m. stretch.

Question of the Day ~
Is there an activity that you want to try, but have not due to your weight or physical fitness? What is that activity?

TTYL!!!
