I did not work to reduce my portions as I lost weight...then I'd stall, get frustrated, go off...so this time around I'm trying to pay attention and start with smaller portions and go back and get more "if" I'm hungry. So, far so good!

Oh and I registered for my exam, it's scheduled for February 9th at 12:00 ... so now it's real and I need to get busy with the studying and come up with a plan to get through the prep book and guide at least one more time.

Question of the Day ~
Do you do all of your exercise at once or do you break it up throughout the day?

***
I do agree that unfortunately to lose we have to reduce portions as we get smaller. It makes perfect sense. I also have struggled with feeling deprived so it's tough to balance them both. Oh well--if it were easy we'd all be tiny lil toothpicks!

I've missed it--what's your exam for?

QOTD--all at once for the formal stuff but I try to add steps in where I can, park further, take the stairs, etc. I don't count it though.

That is great! It's a good feeling. I don't want to hear about the swimsuit, you at least have 20 less lbs to lug than I do and I'm wearing my swimsuit in a week and a half!

Morning peeps!

Tired today. DD woke up about 2am sick to her stomach... um... everywhere. Shower for her, put on clean clothes, change bed sheets, clean tub, clean toilet, spot clean carpet, wall, door jambs and doorknobs, a load of laundry on "sanitary cycle", shower for me and back in bed around 5am crossing my fingers that this is an abberation. Please no virus. Please don't keep it up today. Please don't pass this to anyone else.

So far so good this morning. We will see. Have more laundry to do. I bagged what didn't fit in washer (and I have a big capacity front loader) and put on back porch to get the sick smell out of house.

I have switched to just a cup of coffee with coconut oil for BF, and then LC lunch, and supper. The coffee is in place of one meal a day. So far, working, and not wanting to snack before lunch.

Water consumption was about 60 oz yesterday, so not up to the 80 I am trying for.

Lunch yesterday was steak and green beans.
Supper was ham, baked potato and strawberries dipped in LC drizzle made out of sour cream, Davinci Vanilla syrup and Splenda. Excellent!!!

Went bowling with DD15, so calling that my excercise for yesterday.

Hi Alberta,

I've basically picked out all of the features that I want on the treadmill...but my old one keeps hanging in there, dang it! I was on it last night and it was fine for the whole 40 minutes. BUT, if I get my way, the one I want isn't too far away! My biggest wish is for power incline and a variety of levels and programs...closer to the treadmills at the gyms. I'm not spending the big bucks that those cost, but there are quite a few to choose from!

I just have to wait out the old one....

I'm not real sure what happened to go off plan, but I got divorced in 2004, moved to the cities, youngest daughter went off to college, my mom died; tons of stuff. I fear that is the reason for my falling and not getting up.
Whoa, can we say stress? I think everyone of those things you listed are on top of "what are the most stressful"!

But, my story is a carbon copy with losing the weight, having it off, feeling GREAT and then to lose that momentum. It's hard to believe that that "feeling so good" feeling gets outweighed by our brains telling us "junk food and lots of it, will make you feel better" , arrrghhh!

Oops, I forget about the clothing.

....okay, I tried on my jeans and I notice a slight loosening around my waist, so that's good!

No problem for me being a scale slave...

I found the fitday site last night that was on someones post and calculated my foods. I was curious about how many calories, fats and carbs I ate on a normal day while not watching what I ate. I was surprised that my calories were under 1800, but my carbs were sky high (198 carbs) I still haven't figured out what my fats and proteins ratio should be...does anyone know?

My plan is to begin on Monday, but as well, I also start back to work on Monday after being on winter break. I work at the administrative office at the local University In the dining hall! To say the least, I have access to all kinds of bad foods, which is why my weight has jumped higher in the last two years than it has ever been before. I have gained 42 lbs since working there. Breakfast is the biggest change I need to make. My usual is a Chick-fil-A chicken and biscuit and a large decaf coffee with splenda and half and half.

My darling husband, which I think ya'll abbreviate to DH, has no weight issues. He keeps his weight at 185 lbs eating whatever he wants. DD's husband is pretty much the same, although he eats almost all junk food, so DD and I have no help from them as to keeping the pantry clear of bad foods. We'll both have to do this with grit and determination no matter what is yelling from the pantry and fridge. I've already warned DH that the junk part of his meals will have to be prepared on his own!!

Well, I am still sitting here in my night gown and haven't done a single thing I had planned for this morning. I'll check back later.

To those of you who lost weight, even if it was 1/2 lb, it is an accomplishment! You made changes and those changes resulted in a loss! So woo hoo for you[/COLOR]
Oh it's so hard when you have someone in the family that is naturally thin...and they like junk food! Is he supportive though? Maybe some of the pantry food can go somewhere else so you don't have to see it everyday?

About the protein/fat/carb ratio - if you're just starting Atkins, you should be aiming at 65% fat, 30% protein and 5% net carbs. As you move up the ladder and start adding more variety to your menu, your net carb total will increase and your fat will come down.

I've been trying the to use smaller bowls/plate to help with the illusion of more food...it really does help! I think it's going to be a lot of practice and patience to begin! Eating large portions is so much a bad habit.

I remember when I was in high school and my sister and friends would go to Taco Time and get a soft taco and share the mexifries...when I was at my heaviest, I'd get 2 tacos and eat the whole box of fries. I think I've taken that same "I need a big piece of (fill in the blank)" with me and I'm really trying to break that habit! Eat to satisfy, not to get full is my new mantra!

The Exam is for a Project Management Professional designation for work. The application process is a bear, you have to recreate about 7500 hours worth of project management experience to go with your application...and then study for the exam!

I love the idea of morning workouts, but for now I'm only doing my stretching in the a.m. Evenings are the worst for me food-wise, so I've decided to save my cardio for then, it helps me get rid of those evening munchies!

OH no, I'm sorry DD is sick and especially THAT kind of sick! Poor her...and you!

So, the big news are these parts are the floods. We had a bunch of snow most of December and now we're getting warm air and lots of rain (all the way to the mountain passes).

All of that is causing the rivers to flood, it's pretty bad in places. And I don't know if this has changed yet, but yesterday evening they closed all of the passes going east/west and I-5 was closed in southern Washington...so if you were anywhere in Western Washington yesterday, you'll be her for awhile!

I'm taking my camera to work so I can get some pictures around our area, I'll post them later so you can see.

Okay, so the plans for today - again...the same as yesterday = work, exercise and studying are on top of my list.

And just because I've been a little lax on posting my exercise: let it be known I have exercised 6 of the last 8 days! w00t!

Question of the Day ~
What is your favorite outdoor activity?

Thanks y'all.

No I didn't really get back to sleep... If I can shuffle out and deal with a problem without really waking up then I can get right back to sleep. Once I wake up fully it's tough. Plus then I worried over how sick... will DS get sick.. DH? Me?

Last spring DD woke up vomiting. Within 2 hours I was too. Then DS & DH by morning. It was the worst bug I can remember. Couldn't even keep anti-nauseau medication down long enough to do any good. Ended up at ER. So never, ever want to do that again. Worst memory was DD being sick over toilet and crying for mommy but I couldn't do anything cause I was bent over sink nearby being sick too. So I'm a bit gunshy.

So far she ate a slice of Double Fiber toast and 1/2 cup fluids. And it stayed down. Now she's running at the other end. So just keeping wiping things down with Lysol, keep her hydrated and keep her from sharing any germys.

Ooooh floods. That's scary stuff. We visited the Ranier/St. Helens area as a side trip when had business trip to Portland. So beautiful there. I always said if we had to relocate that would be a lovely place to go.

Alberta - Any reoccurrance of headache? I have had one off and on last couple of days but wasn't sure if it was diet related or life related.

Q of Day:

My favorite outdoor activity is horseback riding. Hands down there is nothing I'd rather do.

2nd choice would be backpacking & camping.

Jeanne I am sorry you and family are so sick right now, I hope it doesn't last long, maybe a 24 hour flu Lets hope.
The head ache is pretty much gone now I think it was just the low carbs at first, Thank you for asking. This is day 4 for me in CTFLC, I am really liking it, so far so good. I really have lost cravings for sweets, eggs are my best friend.
Get better soon,

Alberta

Shelly New treadmill sounds great, old one seems to be adding a few minutes I see use to be shut off at 35 min. maybe there is hope. BUT a new one would be nice.
Talked to BIL last night from Kent, he was telling about the high waters you are having there. Stay safe
Question of day. My favorite out door activity is to walk or work in the yard, I really enjoy them both. Oh and in summer it is definitly getting in my pool.
Have a great day,

Alberta

I just have to wait out the old one.

That's what we need to learn. The thing at the top of the list should be momentum. Let's embroider it on a pillow!

Hi, All!

My favorite outdoor activity is riding my bike. Unfortunately, I have to wait until the Spring.

I did great with my eating yesterday.

Meal1: 1oz. steel cut oatmeal, 2 scrambled eggs with 1T of mayo, mustard, and spices

Meal 2: 1oz. of walnuts

Meal 3: Large green salad with veggies, feta cheese, tuna with mayo, balsamic vinaigrette dressing

Meal 4: 1 Green Apple

Meal 5: Medium green salad with mushrooms, red peppers, hot peppers, tuna with mayo, 1 hard boiled egg, 1 ham cube, 1 turkey cube, red vinegar, black pepper

Meal 6: 13 almonds

(Trying to gain muscle and I've been encouraged to eat more.)

Daisy I bough it from QVC it is like a mini trampoline with a bar across it for support, you can do lots of different exercise on it.
Ilove fish on grill I just put a piece of lemon on top for flavoring.
Have a super day,

Alberta

Jeanne, you're such a little "ho"!
So where are the kiddos when you/DH are, um, otherwise occupied??
I that you/DH are still so HOT for each other, after several years of marriage (how many??) + 2 kiddos (that you home school??) + all the "stuff" that comes along with that ~ I just it!

I'm so sorry about DD's "experience" last night
And the tale of last year's bug sounds heart-breaking...
I that your new LC Life protects you & keeps you healthy!
(good timing that it's VLC Deplete Week on CTFLC !!)

Kim! :) and EVERYONE re: 2010 LCF Cruise! :)

Thank you Kim! But girl, you got nuttin' to worry about, you're gonna look HOT! Do you have a swimsuit picked-out yet? Believe me, I have one that "minimizes" everything! (Target!) And I wear a little Spanx-type products under my swimsuit -- YEP!! (but from Mervyn's) Holds the flabby tummy in MUCH BETTER and then I don't feel so self-conscious.

And my swimsuit has an "old lady" skirt 'cause of the lymphedema in my left leg. It's not perfect, but I think I pull it off without looking too much like a whale...and you will too, my dear!

You are so dang pretty and you have come SO FAR in your journey -- now you get out there and flaunt that new hot body of yours!!

My swimsuit is ALWAYS on my mind 'cause of our Kona Condo we go over to Hawaii a few times a year and I just hate going when I've "gained"!! you know how it's "easier" for people to notice a gain/loss when ya haven't seen them in a few months...plus I have to hang around all my slim & tan & very fit friends -- while I'm fat & white -- lemme tell ya, THAT is a great motivator to never get too far off track!

Of course they love me, fat or skinny, but as we all know, we have a LOT more self-confidence when we feel "good" about how we look. And I have been at an uncomfortable weight that NO swimsuit skirt was ever gonna hide!

Kim, you're gonna have such a GREAT TIME on the LCF Cruise!!
I so wish I could go this year, but, no $$$

ANYWAY I'm definitely going next year & REALLY looking forward to THAT w/ Y'ALL!

AND looks like Lisa/Lei are talking about it for their Group too!
Hey! (wonder where they got THAT idea...hmmm? )
Hey! What say we make a little Challenge to Challenger "wager" with them??
Something "redeemable" on the 2010 LCF Cruise??

Like whichever Team loses the highest % of weight...
...gets to have the other Team buy all the Pina Coladas for them at the pool??
(one or two days or the entire trip??)

I'd say that we'd bet a Dinner but the Food is included.
Unless we do an off-ship, in-port Dinner??

WHAT DO Y'ALL THINK OF THAT IDEA ??
Good be very motivating for us to Just Do It this year !!

I agree HB have you noticed when we gain they notice right away but let us lose they are blind to that. There is a lady that works at Wal Mart about a year or so ago when I had put on weight she said "I see you have gained" like I needed her to remind me. When I stared losing I just stood right in front of her, no bulkly clothes on, she said nothing. I then said "I have all my weight off I gained now I am shooting for more, you look awfully tired are they working you too much?" She said she is going to have a face lift, she really looks old, she is a smoker and no makeup at all. I asked how old she is she said 62. I said don't you use face cream I do. Since then she has been so kind. I am a very quiet person and nice until you say the wrong thing then look out.
I just got through squeezing my fresh lemons and put in ref before they go bad. I also just drank my ACV, I am pulling out all stops.
You looked great in your Pic with your Mom that was your swim suit wasn't it? Mine is one that the top comes over the top I think it is called blousens 9sp) hides any spare tires I might have, like I don't have any.
Better run and do crunches

What is your favorite outdoor activity?
In the winter, I like to cross-country ski even though it hasn't snowed much here in the last couple of years.

In summer I love biking, walking George, lounging about in sun or shade reading a good book.
