Morning ....

I'm shocked, I'm the first one here today?

Question of the Day:
Just because I'm thinking about it ...where will you go on vacation in 2009?

Here's a quote that I saw today and I love ~
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. - Mark Twain, American writer

So, plans for today...well, I still need to make my muffins in a minute so I'm ready for the week, so that's one thing. Then do a little laundry...all the fun stuff.

I am looking forward to getting outside for a trail walk. We still have some snow on the ground and the sky is clear and blue, so it should be brisk but beautiful!

Then, I need to load some new music on my Blackberry so hopefully I can find an SD card in town. But, if not, that's a good reason to take a ride!

For my menu today, I haven't planned out yet but I'll update my fitday as the day goes on. The walk will be 3 miles and I'll be counting that as my exercise today.

Enjoy your day!

Vacation plans? We have 2--The cruise in January and we are taking all 3 kids/spouses and DGD to the Beach in Florida in May. Looking forward to them both!

Love the quote, very insightful

The trail walk sound delightful! I took advantage of the 74 degree record high we had yesterday to get a jog in, so I'll stay indoors today while it's 27 degrees out!

I am going to SF in March to see DD2 (and hopefully HB!) and Pupcake and I are discussing our April trip after tax season. We're considering a cruise or Mexico.

Question of the Day ~
Are you nervous about any upcoming events/parties? And if so, what are you going to do to prepare for them?

No plans for upcoming evens that I am nervous about. Possible upcoming job interviews--now those I am nervous about!!!

Question of the Day:
Just because I'm thinking about it ...where will you go on vacation in 2009?

Not sure about vacation plans yet. My extended family usually rents a beach house on Hatteras Island on the Outer Banks of NC for a week. We are not sure this year with the bad economy whether we will be going to the Outer Banks or not. I'll keep you posted about vacation plans when and if they firm up.

Exercise for Sat and Sun:
Walking the the dog. Three walks on Saturday and two walks so far on Sunday.

Diet:
So far I'm doing pretty good. Went out to dinner last night with my sister and brother-in-law. I was good with dinner all low carb, but I took a spoonful of brother-in-law's chocolate dessert (ice cream and fudge sauce on a warm chocolate chip cookie base). I tasted the ice cream and fudge sauce... small off-lc diet slip... back on the wagon today.

Loved the quote!!! Thanks for sharing!

Q of Day:

I love to travel, last year we went to Vegas using free hotel offers from casinos (the Bellagio was DA BOMB!! OMG I could have lived there) and a great car/airfare combo booked online which allowed us to spend a few extra days going to Grand Canyon, Arches N'tnl park, Death Valley, etc. I really can't wait to go back.

Finances are tight this year so we are thinking about doing a camping trip. I love to camp and I think it is the most financially reasonable method for a family of four to take a vacation. We always seem drawn to the state and national parks when we vacation. I would love to be able to say I've visited them all.

Tomorrow life gets back to normal. DH back to work, kids will be home. My time will be own again.

Jeanne Your lights were fantastic. Now did they go on like that at your house also? You do such a job on your lighting. I would love to live near you and see them. Does it take long to set them all up?

First question of the day. We have a lot of Birthdays in january and february but we usually do hotdogs. I know that is not the best solution but much better than the cake and chips. I do kind of dread them especially when I don't plan them and I don't know what they are having.

As far as vacations we will probably not go anywhere for a week long vacation this year. Money is tight. We do have planned to take the DGB to Santas land and some day trips though.

Looks like everyone has been really busy round here. I have missed being able to check in more regularlly but hopefully it won't be forever. We just have to get some things in order first. Maybe by tax time.

I will be checking in here for a while tonight in between patients so BBL!!!

Question of the day---we don't take vacations. Closest we get is if we have to travel for business-related stuff. Horse convention in Tulsa OK in March, I have a trip to Maryland for Equine Advisory Board with Farm bureau, and then we have horse shows during the summer. If we have to buy a bull, that is always a trip. also. Did one of those to Kentucky a year ago, so hopefully won't have to do one again for several years.

I have stayed on plan so far today, with spinach salad planned for supper.
I did 20 minutes of beginning Pilates this morning, and working on 60 oz water, with another 20 oz before bed-time.

Hi Kim,

Your vacations sound reeeally nice...I'd love some tropical warmth right now! It's cold here! And speaking of cold, that's quite a change in temperature for you! Geez!

"Pupcake", that is so cute! What kind of dog is Pupcake? Geez, I hope it's a dog and not a pet name for a child !

I haven't been to SF since I was 17...I loved it though. Oooo, and a cruise...nice!

Sorry about the vacation talk then ! I hear you on the "do it yourself" projects, my DH and I do as much ourselves as we can. It is a great sense of accomplishment!

I love the camping too...we've been spending a lot of time at our property since we made the purchase. There's always "stuff" to do!

Hi Jen!

Hey hotdogs are better than the alternatives!

Day trips are fun. Picnics and visits to nurseries/garden (if you're in to gardening), nearby state parks ...

Come back soon!

Hello, Ladies!

So much is going on with work and now I'm trying to get more involved with my weight training and clean eating. If I don't come here to the thread that often it is because I'm researching articles and reading reading reading just about everything there is on muscle development. Not sure about competitive as yet. That gets REALLY expensive.

I hope everyone else is doing alright.

Talk to you soon.

Hey I have been having some issues with my left foot and ankle hurting the last three days. I haven't injured it in any way that I remember but it really hurts. So tonight I talked to the doc in the ER and he thinks it is from the new butt blaster and thightmaster stuff I have been doing. He gave me some stretching exercises to help with my sciatica nerve. Who would've thunk it. That is what I get for letting myself go like that. Hey but that prooves I have been exercising.

I have been on plan for the last couple days too. I forgot my book where i wrote everything down in but I will try to catch up later.

Shelly Oh no problem talking about vacations, to me with Vegas so close I never think of it as a vacation, when we go for a day it is just a quick get away because it is so close to me, only 3 hours down I-15. Like when we go to Wrightwood or Big Bear to the mountains, same thing. They are just so close we never really look at it as a vacation just a quick get away.

Oh my yes it took forever this year and since the lights were defective and have to be returned to manufacturer for new lights we will have to redo the work next year as well, but after that it should be fairly easy. See, since DH sees the world in VERY straight lines, his method to ensure neat lines is to use 1x4 pieces of wood, drill holes in them, poke each and every single light in a hole and then use the strips of wood to go around house and windows... then times 4 colors.... well you get the idea.

After the new lights go in next christmas, we just take wood frames down with lights still attached and store. Make putting it back up a snap.

DH is already making his shopping list of lights that he wants to add for next year's display. Many of the commercial manufacturers are having preorder sales in Jan and Feb. More things in yard, maybe some arches, the roof, colored wall wash floodlights... etc, etc. My job is to rein him in when his vision gets too expensive.

I'm kinda glad I don't have to think much about it for a few months...

Good morning everyone.

Starting Week one of CTFLC today. It's truly a relief. Went shopping over weekend, still need to hard boil some eggs but all in all in good shape to stay on track.

Planning to start my exercises today too.

Only one more week of double the dogs in my house. I am looking forward to them going back to thier own home!

Jeanne Don't you just hate grocery shopping? I know we went shopping and spent $300.00 told DH I am not shopping again next week unless it is for more eggs. The prices are so high anymore. I am ready for CTFLC today nervous but ready, nervous because I hate not doing things exactly right. That is why I have printed up so many things from over on the boards so I can read it at night when I am offline. Eggs, I should be growing feathers by now, I fix them all the time, more like a snack food to me.
Have a great day,

Alberta
