Wow - 56 is so young! I don't have time to google right now but what could he have died from? Hard livin' maybe. So sad.

Did you guys hear that John Updike died the other day? That made me really sad. He, along with J.D. Salinger, were the firt authors I read in Junior high (age 12 or so??) that kinda shook me up. I read tons of Updike in my formative years. A weird choice now that I look back on it.

And yes, I'm getting ready for my surgery this morning. No coffee for me!

I can't lie, I'm a little bit nervous. I will report back as soon as I feel better.

Have a great day guys!

I did hear that about Updike! He was 76 or something like that?

And yes...only 56, but I'm sure you're right, the hard living probably did some damage! But they said it was a likely a known heart condition.

Good luck with the surgery!!

We have a little fun planned after work today. My sister called and invited DD and I to a new Japanese restaurant near where she lives. It's the hibachi type and sushi...so yummy!

Food: packed and ready to go - chicken breast with spinach for breakfast and a LC wrap (cheddar, sprouts, pickles, onions and may) for lunch.

Exercise: Weights day

Question of the Day ~
How did you do with your eating plan? What was successful/unsuccessful? Will you stick with your January eating plan or change to something else?

Jennifer Looks like you are getting support from your entire family now. Steak for lunch is yummy.
Isn's great now you can be online anytime you choose with your new computer? Except when execising. Like me I get on here in between exercising.
Better run and get more things done.

Not so good. Had to repeat Week 1 of CTFLC 4 x's!

Groundhog Day style (the movie)!

I think I'm going to stay the VLC course until I go to Hawaii Feb 12-16.

When I get back; I'm either going to do:

CTFLC or JUDDD

carb-cycle or calorie-zigzag.

hmmmmmmmm?

probably CTFLC carb cycle as I really wanna give it the full 8 weeks!

Question of the Day ~
Do you feel you over or under committed to your exercise routine?
What are you thinking about doing for February?

I definitely did NOT do as much exercise as I wanted to do in January.

My damn knee! My damn back!

However, that does NOT completely excuse me as there are SOME things I can still do!

I did get back on my stationary bike a few times per week in January + I continue to do a daily dog romp (but they get most of the exercise!)

For Feb, I must add back in UB weights + some serious Ab work.

In fact, I'm going to start TOMORROW 1/30 ~ SO PLEASE ASK ME IF I DID IT ~ K ??

I'm not allowed to post anymore till I do my exercise ~ K ??

Shelly, where's that whip ?? Whip me baby !!

I hope Liz comes back!!!

And I did watch Oprah last night. I don't need hormones yet, but my sister takes HRT and said it was magic for her. So, I was interested. It's a very controversial health topic, that's for sure! AND OMG, doesn't Suzanne Somers look great at 62! WOW!

Sounds like a plan, sort of ... you'll have it down to one by the time you get back Hawai'i!

Good for you...find things that you can do without causing pain...and speaking of causing pain...

I'll be watching you!

OK, so like I said HAPPY FRIDAY!

I mentioned DD and I were meeting my sister at a new Japanese restaurant yesterday...well, it was a ball, we talked and talked and talked...and the food was beautiful and very yummy. I still haven't updated my fitday yet. I'm pretty sure I went over my carb count because I ate a bit more sushi than I normally do...but I feel good this a.m. No puffiness!

We ended up eating at the sushi bar and watched the shows at the nearby hibachi tables...those guys (the chefs) and their knife work/routines are amazing. We decided to bring the guys and my folks back and sit at the hibachi next time...fun stuff!

Plans for today: lather, rinse, repeat - work, exercise and studying !! I think we're going to rent out a couple of movies, so that might be the entertainment for the evening! Sounds good to me!

Food: I have a breakfast LC wrap and a spinach and shrimp salad packed and ready to go...I don't know what dinner is going to be. Hey, maybe a steak, thanks for the idea Jennifer!

Question of the Day ~
We're almost to the end of month #1 of our new year ...
What was the most important thing you learned about yourself this month? How will it help you with your plan for February?

Chat later
