One more thread-jack post:

My realtor is GORGEOUS, but rather superficial which might be necessary in her biz. She's over 6 feet tall, has naturally huge boobies, small hips, and a lovely face. Men almost walk into walls when she comes into view.

Ironically, she is very unlucky in love. She's 38, never married, never even in a very long committed relationship. She wants children really bad. She is very self-reliant and won't even pretend to need a guy. I said you don't have to NEED them, but it's nice when they help, right? Gratitude baby.

So she dyes her eyelashes, has hair extensions, tatooed her lips and eyes with eyeliner.

That might be more than you wanted to know!

whaddya think??

AND I've ridden my stationary bike 4 times this week!

Gonna re-incorporate upper body weights (Cory Everson!) & Callanetics, too. I'm returning to Exercise, one baby step at a time. (due to my knee/back issues)

I'm doing great with water intake (70 oz a day) and taking ALL of my zillions of supplements - YAY!

Oh and this morning, Hubby said I was "skin & bones"!!!!!! Of course, I'm NOT! He was feeling my arms & back; not my fat little tummy! But it made me feel good anyway. He's so sweet. I can't wait until I'm light enough for him to pick me up; he loves to do that when I'm "thin". He tries to do it anyway, but I won't let him do it when I'm "heavy". Would probably throw-out his back!!
Hey that sounds great. I love new recipes that have been tried before.

Hey HB in his eyes you are skin and bones. Keep it up. You are doing great.

They were very yummy...I'll add a little more seasoning next time, the ground turkey breast is pretty bland. But, other than that I'll do it again!

Mmmmmmm! Right now, we're making Grassfed Beef Fajitas w/ LC tortillas + homemade Margaritas w/ fresh limes from our lime tree!

I'm doing a "carb-up" weekend! (Friday/Saturday)
Then VLC (again) Sun thru Thurs -- then on Friday another "carb-up".

Last night, I had alcohol (1 vodka martini + 1/2 glass red wine) for the first time in weeks...and I was polluted...seriously! I fell asleep sitting up while we were watching LOST! (Season One via Netflix)

I still haven't officially started CTFLC; I'm kinda "doing my own thing" keeping a tight eye on my Calories/Carbs. Trying to spread-out my Protein (not go over 25g per meal) and keeping my Fat high on LC days and my Fat low on HC days -- always trying to get more Fiber.

I might continue this way until I get back from Hawaii in mid-Feb and then officially start CTFLC at that time (after another Deplete of at least 3 days - 72 hours is all it really takes to "carb deplete")

I'm anxious for my Lymphedema flare-up to calm down so I can get an accurate reading from my scale.

AND I've ridden my stationary bike 4 times this week!

Gonna re-incorporate upper body weights (Cory Everson!) & Callanetics, too. I'm returning to Exercise, one baby step at a time. (due to my knee/back issues)

The cabbage rolls were very good!! A few tweaks and they'll be perfecto. And YES a separate recipe thread for us would be awesome!

Your dinner sounds wonderful! And I'm glad to hear you're doing well with your plan! I think you're doing great and making the right changes!

And your exercise, water, supplements, whooohoo ... and a big WHOOHOO for DH's skin and bone comments...good man!

I do mascara during the week and if we're going out on the weekends.

But I don't really do big make up...I like playing up eyes, gloss for the lips ... and maybe a little powder...that's it. I can get that done in 5 minutes so I've definitely streamlined the process!

I had thought about doing the eyelash dying right before my surgery, but ended up not doing it. I also saw someone get eyelash extensions! Amazing, I know! She said they last a month or so...I didn't ask the cost!

I've seen some folks do the permanent makeup and it didn't look so hot...I'd be afraid to do something like that. Did hers look good?

Hey, try the extensions, that would give them the thick look and then dye them too for the color...wheee!

So another month of pain. ugh. Let's hope it gets a LOT better!

So what's YOUR story, Morning Glory ????????
Are you happy about not having to have surgery right away or at all? I guess I'm asking...with the pain you're having, would you have preferred to have the surgery now to just get it corrected?

So yes! Let's figure out a place to meet for a drink. Can you come to the city? She lives right in the city.

Ahhh, she misses her mommy, that's sweet. I have a close relationship with my DD too...and we both have talked about how hard it's going to be next fall when she goes to college *whaaa* !! But, I'll be strong.

And GREAT timing for a mini-goal ... it's nice having a closer timeline to work toward. It helps with the motivation, for sure!

Hummm, and the address you're copying is th one from your Fitday profile page?

Where's Alberta this morning? Time to check in, missy!

Okay, so plans for today...well to begin = it snowed again last night *sigh* . It looks beautiful, but dang, enough already. We just don't get snow here that often and once a season is enough!

Anyway, we won't let that little snifter change our hiking plans today. During our hike yesterday, DD and I challenged ourselves to hike up a pretty intense area in August. We've done it before and it was really hard...so we want to prepare and condition from now until then and see if we can make to it without so much whining this time! wheee!!

So, today will be a 90 min hike up and around Mount Peak...it's got some intense incline, so it'll be great practice.

Other than that, it'll be studying, laundry and prepping for the work week!

Question of the Day ~
Is Sunday a day of rest for you and your family or do you use it to get ready for the next week...or?

I'll be back later!

Sunday is our best shot at a "down" day here. At least try and fit in some family time and a little relax.

DD2 lives in the Nobb Hill area of SF, but I can get anywhere in the city. The cabbies are great aren't they? And Lorenzo (daughter - real name Lauren) lives right off a cable car line. Kinda handy yes?

Are there 9 of us ??

We may call it something like:

any other ideas ??

plus we're going to revise the rules (slightly) --
anything thing you'd like to see added/modified??

now's the time to speak-up!! thanks!!

Hi Nancy! Great to see you!

WOW, you've had a TOUGH WEEK. Dang. that is a LOT.
NO butt-kicking for you; no no my dear -- quite the opposite!!
You are 2 B commended for NOT careening dangerously off-path!

Absolutely you are losing fat & gaining muscle.
There is no doubt in my mind.
Your one size SMALLER small jeans are PROOF of that FACT!!
(and your decreased BMI)

Because you have GAINED MUSCLE and LOST FAT.
(muscle is smaller & heavier ~ fat is larger & lighter)
So you are SMALLER even tho the scale says you're "bigger".

NOT TRUE!! THE EVIL SCALE LIES!!
STAY AWAY FROM THE SCALE!! THE SCALE IS NOT YOUR FRIEND!!
(right now)

Ladies, R U getting this??
Nancy just perfectly illustrated my point re: the STUPID Scale!
So for all U Exercisers, please do not get discouraged or frustrated by the Scale!
And for you NON-Exercisers ~ time to GET OFF YOUR BUTTS!!

It is quite NATURAL to gain a few lbs & have the scale STOP cooperating in general, at the start of an exercise program. Literally the first couple of months. Because your body is experiencing INTERNAL RECOMPOSITION and the scale cannot tell the THE REAL STORY.

This is WHY most "gym coaches & trainers" warn their clients to stay off the scales for the first 6-8 weeks or so. Seriously!
(I'm going to look for a really good post by LouieLouie on this subject...)

So, GREAT JOB, NANCY and KUTGW !!!!!

Oh Jen, that is fabulous that you have a new laptop so you can hang-out with us again! YAY!
OK, we will hold your feet to the fire! We will expect daily macros and exercise sessions!!
YOU WILL WIN THE BIGGEST LOSER CONTEST AT WORK THIS TIME -- I JUST KNOW IT!!

Thanks for the great information about exercise and weight! I'm going to continue to concentrate on my exercise program and stick to the low carb foods. I won't worry about the scale too much as along as my clothes keep fitting better and better.

I think I'm finally over the hump on the exercise front. I'm really feeling great today! I went swimming today--swam 34 laps, water jogged for 10 minutes, and did my upper and lower body water resistance workout. Exercise is hard work and since I restarted my exercise program after Christmas, I have had to really push myself to do it, that is, until today.
Today, it was really enjoyable and I really am feeling great physically. Yeah!!! I think I'm really going to make now--stick with the exercise program. I can do it!!!! We can do it!!!

Love ya all!

Questions of Day Responses

Question of the Day ~
What are you doing for fun this weekend? Or are you being productive this weekend?

Reading, swimming and dog park! And I did all three! But I also have to do chores around the house--not fun, but necessary! And I also have to work this weekend. I have a presentation on Monday and I have to work on the project this weekend to be ready for presentation. Again not fun, but necessary.

Question of the Day ~
If you had the choice of a Trainer - (using the Biggest Losers trainers as examples) would it be a Jillian type (go go go) or a Bob type (zen master)?

I think I need a both types. I really prefer the zen-master type, but I also need the "go, go, go push me further than I thought I could go" type. Yoga and Aerobics... both are good for us

Question of the Day ~
Is Sunday a day of rest for you and your family or do you use it to get ready for the next week...or?

Sunday is my favorite day of the week. Spiritual renewal, Sunday morning political talk shows, special breakfast, and always something fun and special planned for Connor and me to do.

I do set aside some time in the evening for planning for the work week. And tomorrow is trash/recylce day, so clean out the refrigerator and take out the trash and recycling are Sunday chores.

Considering the day I have had, I feel like I did good eating. We had to go to a birthday party at DH mothers house. Not far from our house. I didnt eat anything. No body noticed. But while we were there the neighbors came down and told us that our dogs had gotten into a fight. We have several dogs outside. They ended up killing my DS's chocolate lab. It was not a good thing and very upsetting. Then I had to drive to work and think about it all the way.

I pray that tomorrow will be better, but food wise did well.

Ohhhh, I see. But, that it odd that it's slower now! argggh! It's such a pain with the computer is not feeling well! Hope you and your DH figure out what's causing the slowness!

Plans for me today - I have my breakfast ready and lunch packed up (breakfast wrap and a romaine/tuna salad) and my trusty study guide *sigh* - so I'll be staying in at lunch to study...the exam is 2 weeks from today, so it's official cram time.

Other than the working and studying stuff...I made an appointment at the spa to use one of my Xmas gift certificates, a pedicure...I've never had one at this place, so I'm anxious to see how it goes!

Then it's home to do weights and maybe something cardio...we'll see how much energy I have. But, weights are scheduled.

That's it for now....

Question of the Day ~
This is the last full week of the January 2009. How do you feel you did during the challenge? What did you learn about yourself and your plan?

+The motor I think. It just says er07. But it was free.

QOD! I feel that I have learned that I need to always keep track of what I eat. I need to get off my butt and exercise more. I have learned that this is the best group of ladies around. I believe my plan works. I just need to believe in myself more.

Jenn I am so sorry to hear about DS's dog! That is terrible! We are so attached to our fur babies it is just so hard...

HB - I too just do lipgloss (and I LOVE the Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer!)... Never got into the makeup habit as a teenager and that just carried through into adult life. When I was a store manager for a major jewelry store I did the whole face thing everyday, but otherwise I save the makeup for special occaisions. I have always had great skin and I think in part it is because I dont put stuff on it everyday...

Alberta - hope your PC issues all work out... I too miss everyone here when I can't get on. Y'all have become part of my daily routine.

Still in NJ. Went to Atlanti City yesterday and oooohhhh it was cold! Lots and lots of walking. Climbed up to the top of the 3rd tallest lighthouse in US (Absecon) and walked the boardwalk (4 miles roundtrip) the piers, and thru several of the casinos. Wasn't in the mood to gamble. I enjoy Blackjack and DH likes slots... but gotta be in the mood. All in all had a great time.

I'm off for my walk today (but slowly cause my feet hurt!). Going down to the library and then walk over and pick up lunch (grilled chick salad)...

I like the Circle of Nine reason being circle is never ending which I think is the way we all feel a never ending friendship of ladies trying to lose their weight. Just a thought.
Have a super day,

Jennifer I am so sorry about DS's dog. Fur babies are our extended family. Hope things get better is your tread mill dead? Did you try unplugging and plugging back in?
Have a nice day,
