BIG Day @ work 2day!!

Plans for the w/e? No idea yet.
But I know I'll look forward to chatting with you, my dear sweet friends.

It's so nice to have such a warm, friendly place that is so accepting of the ups/downs of weight loss.

Let us never get bogged down in "Rules" so much that we sacrifice friendship & support ~ K?

Because that is what it's all about. Life is just too short for anything less.

I love you ALL. Truly.

XO,
HB
I hear ya, I had a long and stressful work week too. And I was hoping to sleep in for awhile this morning...not...wide awake at 5:30 *sigh* ! Oh well...

So, true on the "rules" ! Active, healthy and happy (in no particular order)... that's what I'm striving for everyday! Life is too short to waste...especially spending any time being bitter, vindictive and angry ~ that's a waste of time...and it's just a little pathetic, don't you think!? Positive reinforcement, yep that's the way to go!

Yea, what Alberta said! No bad mouthing yourself allowed...oops was that a rule? Be nice to you, we insist!

Question of the Day ~

Daisy I feel the same as you and one of the ladies is missing I miss them, like right now Liz is on vacation I miss her posts, Jeanne is gone for a week I think, then she will be back.
The first thing I do when I wake up is get online to see if my friends are here. I go to bed early so I don't post at night, I have lots of reading to do then my friends I see are getting up in the morning its like "Oh I see Jennifer is running late, she usually posts first or Shelly it is like time work when we all come on and then I look at your Fur babies and smile seeing how cute they are. HB is so informative I love reading and printing up so much of her things. I better get running for now and get more water.
Have a super day,

Alberta

after a major CARB-UP; it's best to do a major CARB-DOWN!!
I have it set so my carb up day is on Saturday, I can not belive how I use to think carbs would make me gain weight but like you have said to not be afraid of carbs. I do about 75 carbs like today. I will not see a gain.
I was just thinking about what you said your feet looked like I do not think I would want to get kicked by you if I were Jennifer.
Hope you have a better day today.
I love you and all the ladies on this group. It is the best.

Hey GP!

Always nice to bump into you!

This is tough; you know I lurves you; but honestly; it is a bit too late to join our "challenge"

See, we started over 3 weeks ago, with a specific mission & goals + we've all committed to our final weigh-in being aboard the 2010 LCF Cruise in Florida!

We've already had to turn away 2 other people; so as MUCH as I'd like to make an exception with you (believe me; I would!); it just wouldn't be fair.

I'm so sorry

With that said, of course you are welcome to pop-in and say hello or lurk or whatever, as we do share a LOT of great WL info here! And please don't be a stranger to my Journal ~ didn't you say that you started one too? Please give us the link so we can come visit you over there from time-to-time!

You know what I think? I think you should either join (or start!) a "LC Vegetarian Atkins" Thread in "Other Plans". I really think that's the way to go for you. You'll be so much more successful being surrounded (or surrounding yourself!) with like-minded folks working the same WOE plan.

And as Twyla suggested, spend a good chunk of time in the Main Lobby. You can learn soooooo much out there! I spent HOURS out there every day when I first joined LCF. (I just got sucked up in the knowledge!) But now, almost a year later, I try to limit my Main Lobby time to an hour a day or so. But THAT is where ya get the latest, greatest, info!

We just wouldn't be able to give you any support in this area as none of us are Veggies (anymore!). I was a Veggie for 15 years but it certainly wasn't LC! (and probably why I was always 10-15 lbs overweight )

Does that make sense, hun?

Regardless, I want you to please stay in touch with me re: how you're doing ~ K?

XO,
HB

Positive reinforcement, yep that's the way to go!

Question of the Day ~
If you had the choice of a Trainer - (using the Biggest Losers trainers as examples) would it be a Jillian type (go go go) or a Bob type (zen master)?
Yep Yep Yep! (as my fav little dinosaur says in Land before Time! )

I agree; Cancer certainly reinforced ALL of that with me; FO SHO FO SHO!

and Positive Reinforcement
(not negative belittlement)
is the way humans (& dogs) learn BEST.
and THAT's a FACT, Jack!

re: negative belittlement, even when it's "humorous";
sooner or later,
someone gets their feelings hurt.
esp when 2 is company and 3's a crowd.

re: Q of the D

Well, since Ms JM is to be held responsible for my torn meniscus
I would have to choose a Bob-type (although I do not watch the show so I do not know anything about Bob except that he's a "zen master" as you say?)

I would like to start watching BL, tho. I keep forgetting. When is it on?

Woof!

And I loved that little dinosaur! yep yep yep!

Trainier Bob can be extreme but he's typically a lot calmer than JM and he likes yoga...so he's more zen-ish to me!

And BL is on Tuesday's at 8:00 pacific!

Hello everyone!

Just q quick check-in. Still in New Jersey - this Hampyon Inn is starting to feel like home. DH's work is taking longer than expexted, we wont be leaving for at least another week. (Still haven't broken that news yet to my Mom with the kids and dogs!) Am doing OK on food. Not perfect, but not horrible and better than usual on vacation. Really trying to watch portion size. Oh and I have been getting out and walking about 2 miles each day.

Went to Philadelphia today an saw Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, Ben Franklin museum. Saw the Reading Station Terminal Market too. OMG that place is crazy! Massive jam packed marketplace. For those that saw the original "National Treasure" it is the market where she hid behind the counter when bad guys were chasing her with the declaration.

Then went to Valley Forge. After that went to King of Prussia mall. Enormous! Walked to day until my feet are killing me.

Tomorrow: Atlantic City baby!!!!!

Jen, I think you should wait to buy the book CAUSE Wendy Chant is coming out with an Updated Version (soon) of CTFLC that will supposedly correct all of the conflicting info & typos that her editors missed during the first round ...

So I'd definitely wait to get the book.

AND guess what? Once you're deep into CTFLC, there will be a day each week, during which you can "carb-up" and eat whatever you like (within reason, of course) including that butterfinger pie. LEGALLY!!

Oh how fun! I'd love to travel in that area...so much history! One day!

And I'm sure your mom will be thrilled to have the kidlets for another week!

OK, so I'm experimenting with dinner tonight...making my own variation of cabbage rolls. I'm using ground turkey, cilantro, garlic and onions, mixed in one egg (binding) and a little spinach/garlic marinana-ish sauce. Roll that mixture into my cabbage leaves. Poured a little more sauce over the top and they're in the oven now....OMG do I smell garlic...yummy!

And DD and I went for a great hike today...it was chilly but we actually saw a little sunshine! It felt great to get outside!

Chat later!

You're doing a fabulous job! It's really hard to stick to a plan when you're away from home. I think two miles a day is fabu.

What fun seeing all that stuff!

Those cabbage rolls sound delicious. I forgot how much I love cabbage rolls! I do believe I have a cabbage in the fridge. I should try something.

oh Shelly, that sounds dee-lish! please let us know how it turned out ??

hey! how about I start a separate "recipe thread" for us to share our tried & true LC recipes??

would be great if when we post a Recipe, if we also post the "macros" for the Recipe.

whaddya think??

Mmmmmmm! Right now, we're making Grassfed Beef Fajitas w/ LC tortillas + homemade Margaritas w/ fresh limes from our lime tree!

I'm doing a "carb-up" weekend! (Friday/Saturday)
Then VLC (again) Sun thru Thurs -- then on Friday another "carb-up".

Last night, I had alcohol (1 vodka martini + 1/2 glass red wine) for the first time in weeks...and I was polluted...seriously! I fell asleep sitting up while we were watching LOST! (Season One via Netflix)

I still haven't officially started CTFLC; I'm kinda "doing my own thing" keeping a tight eye on my Calories/Carbs. Trying to spread-out my Protein (not go over 25g per meal) and keeping my Fat high on LC days and my Fat low on HC days -- always trying to get more Fiber.

I might continue this way until I get back from Hawaii in mid-Feb and then officially start CTFLC at that time (after another Deplete of at least 3 days - 72 hours is all it really takes to "carb deplete")

I'm anxious for my Lymphedema flare-up to calm down so I can get an accurate reading from my scale.

AND I've ridden my stationary bike 4 times this week!

Gonna re-incorporate upper body weights (Cory Everson!) & Callanetics, too. I'm returning to Exercise, one baby step at a time. (due to my knee/back issues)

I'm doing great with water intake (70 oz a day) and taking ALL of my zillions of supplements - YAY!

Oh and this morning, Hubby said I was "skin & bones"!!!!!! Of course, I'm NOT! He was feeling my arms & back; not my fat little tummy! But it made me feel good anyway. He's so sweet. I can't wait until I'm light enough for him to pick me up; he loves to do that when I'm "thin". He tries to do it anyway, but I won't let him do it when I'm "heavy". Would probably throw-out his back!!

I would be sooooo afraid to go out of the house without my mascara!

I would save tons of time if I didn't worry about this mop of hair and my mascara. Good for you!

I definitely look better w/ mascara and VERY OCCASIONALLY will put some on (like every couple of months or so) but it's such a pain!

I'm thinking of having my eyelashes dyed. Ever done that??

My trip is booked for the 18-22. I land the 18 at, I think, 7:30 or something like that. Then I go home on a 8:30 am flight.

I like my teenies not dirty, but with at least 3 olives. Nummy!

My realtor dyes hers. She also had her lips tatooed with pink! Mine need the thickening of the mascara. Although dying them would help. At least I wouldn't look so tired when I didn't have makeup up.

WOW - that's a quick trip!
So you really only have 3 full days here: March 19/20/21.
We will have to meet for a Teenie!
Just let me know WHEN!

Oh, how does it look on your Realtor? Does it look fake or natural?
I know what you mean re: the thickening...
I wonder if there's a way to do THAT semi-permanently?

Yeah, right! Don't I WISH!

Hey Daisy,

Didn't you see your orthopedic doc again the other day? What did s/he say?

I spoke to mine again on Friday; here's the deal re: me:

I have both a "bruised bone" AND "a small tear in the meniscus"

He said instead of the surgery -- that he would wait the full 12 weeks (approx another month) -- but if hasn’t improved -- to come back and he would do another exam and another evaluation and talk about surgery...

So another month of pain. ugh. Let's hope it gets a LOT better!

So what's YOUR story, Morning Glory ????????

Yeah, it's a quick trip just to see my baby-girl. She's doing great in her new home, but I know she gets a little homesick for her momma and the rest of her fam. Pupcake and I have points so I can get there for nothing and stay with her so the trip is pretty darn cheap except for the shopping we might do. Ha!

So yes! Let's figure out a place to meet for a drink. Can you come to the city? She lives right in the city.

I want to be in the 70s by then. Oooo that's pretty optimistic thinking, but I'm striving for it.
