More Q of Week...

What does everyone do here for themselves. What is your passion other than your families, jobs, WOE?

Reading... I don't have 10 book as week habit like someone in this list, but I do read several books a week for fun. I like hiking and canoeing, but I always take a book with me to enjoy at some quiet restful spot along the way. I love movies too! Sometimes, it is difficult choice curl up with a good book or a good DVD???

BTW, you California Girls with your beautiful weather that sounds so wonderful, I'm jealous! We had a week of low low tempetures (high 15), which froze my waterpipes.

So, we talked about handling stress...how do you handle celebrations when others are eating and drinking “around” you? Other than “not attending the celebration”, what could you do to make the situation easier (less tempting) for yourself!

Many of friends have pot lucks. I always bring something healthy. And someone always brings a veggie platter and a cheese platter. But when I visit my son and daughter-in-law, I usually just count it as a free day. My daughter-in-law is a good cook and I wouldn't want to her feelings.

Hi Nancy! Great to see you!

WOW, you've had a TOUGH WEEK. Dang. that is a LOT.
NO butt-kicking for you; no no my dear -- quite the opposite!!
You are 2 B commended for NOT careening dangerously off-path!

Absolutely you are losing fat & gaining muscle.
There is no doubt in my mind.
Your one size SMALLER small jeans are PROOF of that FACT!!
(and your decreased BMI)
Because you have GAINED MUSCLE and LOST FAT.
(muscle is smaller & heavier ~ fat is larger & lighter)
So you are SMALLER even tho the scale says you're "bigger".

NOT TRUE!! THE EVIL SCALE LIES!!
STAY AWAY FROM THE SCALE!! THE SCALE IS NOT YOUR FRIEND!!
(right now)

Ladies, R U getting this??
Nancy just perfectly illustrated my point re: the STUPID Scale!
So for all U Exercisers, please do not get discouraged or frustrated by the Scale!
And for you NON-Exercisers ~ time to GET OFF YOUR BUTTS!!

It is quite NATURAL to gain a few lbs & have the scale STOP cooperating in general, at the start of an exercise program. Literally the first couple of months. Because your body is experiencing INTERNAL RECOMPOSITION and the scale cannot tell the THE REAL STORY.

This is WHY most "gym coaches & trainers" warn their clients to stay off the scales for the first 6-8 weeks or so. Seriously!
(I'm going to look for a really good post by LouieLouie on this subject...)

So, GREAT JOB, NANCY and KUTGW !!!!!

Great, thanks for sharing!!!

I'm so glad it's Friday...it's been a loooong week! No big plans this afternoon, maybe a sushi night or maybe lunch!

Then it's back to my study routine...my goal is 4 chapters a weekend with quizzes and then cramming to get through the book 1 once week up to the day of the exam.

I'm feeling pretty good, there are a few areas (procurement for one) that I don't have experience in, so I'm trying to spend a little more time there.

I am soooo anxious to get this behind me. I'm really feeling like I'll be able to give the health part of my life even more effort once I've taken the exam (and passed) ... I won't have to use those brain cells on studying! w00t!

Question of the Day ~
What are you doing for fun this weekend? Or are you being productive this weekend?

No big plans actually. Dinner with Pupcake's fam tonight and we're going to see "The Wrestler" tomorrow night.

I have productive plans too. One box of china left to unpack, laundry, reorganizing of some cupboards, stuff like that.

That is as close to fun as I am going to get!!

hey all. I love this being able to get on everyday.

This weekend we are going to get a stove from a lady. Hopefully I will have 4 working eye now instead of 1 extra hot one. We went grocery shopping this morning. I got some cheese and eggs and meat and veggies. I am loaded for bear this week. We are also going to the movies tomorrow night. Haven't been in quite a while. No popcorn tho. It is a drive in and we usually take our snacks. I will probably take pork rinds and maybe some cheese. Then it is back to work on sunday.

I plan on going to the gym after work on monday.

Hi Jennifer!

It is awfully quiet today! Maybe everyone is cleaning a closet or getting in that extra exercise !!!

So, what happened today that caused the fall?

Good for you on the planning and prep, that it such a good idea and really helps in those weak moments!

Had you eaten before you went to the grocery store?

I know I'm weaker when I put myself it "foody" situations when I haven't eaten. It's always safer to eat before you go to the grocery store anyway!

I know. I did eat breakfast because I didn't know how long we would be out. We went to pay some bills and DH decided he wanted to drive into Blairsville about 30 minutes away and shop at a little store there. By the time we got back town it was after 1 and we were both hungry. And burger king doesn't have a lot of choices. I should have gotten something at the store or took something with me. Live and learn.

Hey Daisy. I think I am stupid. How do you get your fitday journal to look like that and how do you link it to here?

Jennifer,

Just open your fitday account and click on the Profile tab.

Scroll down to the bottom and you should see a Public Journal option.

If it's not public, you should see a button saying "Make My Journal Public", click that button.

If it's already public, you should see an address like ... http://fitday... Copy and paste that into your signature line.

Or you could hyperlink it from your name in your siggie line like I did.

Just open you siggie, highlight your name and click on the image icon, paste your http://fitday address in there and save.

Does that make sense?

Hi everyone!

I'm exhausted & brain-dead.
BIG Day @ work 2day!!

Plans for the w/e? No idea yet.
But I know I'll look forward to chatting with you, my dear sweet friends.

It's so nice to have such a warm, friendly place that is so accepting of the ups/downs of weight loss.

Let us never get bogged down in "Rules" so much that we sacrifice friendship & support ~ K?

Because that is what it's all about. Life is just too short for anything less.

I love you ALL. Truly.

XO,
HB

Jennifer I hope you did not say you need YOUR LARGE butt kicked. That is one thing I have learned, would you say that to your friend that she needs "her large butt kicked"? Then don't say it to yourself. You just need a "butt kicking" and besides that your butt is getting smaller.
I usually carry a protein bar in my purse at all times in case of situtations like the one you had, or drink lots of water.
Have to run to feed handicapped person.
Have a great day,
BBL
