Good Morning, Y'all!

As I wrote on another thread my goals this year are to make better choices and to get organized. Looks like Sunday will be a busy one. I want to organize my desk here at home. I need to make room for school work as well as my own projects.

My biggest need isn't to lose weight. I want to tone up the skinny fat and look sleek!

Morning all. My resolutions are still up in the air. I am taking a long hard look at myself and trying to figure out what I want to do with me (other than lose weight). Unfortunately I keep getting interrupted while "looking" so it may take me a day to firm up my resolutions.

Speaking of... ahem... "firm" well lets just say that resolution got... um.... "handled" last night.

Oh yes. I do try to make a few resolutions that I absolutely know I can keep so.... I resolve to Not sniff drain cleaner, lick restroom floors or start smoking cuban cigars. Yep. Got it.

Last year it was no necrophilia or eating insects. Totally aced those resolutions!

There is no magic to it, my only tip is to make sure you know it's not a diet. It's about a lifetime change and avoiding the addiction. I can't eat that way again, ever. One day and I'm a goner. I've done it twice before. One day of whatever I want and it's a year-long downward spiral with a net result of 100+ lbs back on my body.

I do believe those who aren't morbidly obese can occasionally stray with no bad effects. I know I can't.

Whoa--that's deep for this early in the morning Maybe I should just change my statement to "Eat More Eggs". Yep...that works too, lol.

Morning Ladies!

Here's the Question of the Day ~
What is your favorite Low Carb (on plan) recipe or food? And if it's a recipe, are you willing to share?

Hi Lora,

Exercise is my #1, too...and I love the organizing idea. I think I might add that to my "to do" list this year. I have a drawer and closet that really need some attention!

Great tips ladies, and so true!

Okay, so it's snowing again...we have about 3 inches or so, not bad just pretty!

I decided to take today off of work since everyone else did, wheee! So, DD and I are going to do a little running around and then do lunch (on plan, of course).

Then it's home to exercise, weights for sure and maybe Jillian's DVD today.

I haven't planned out my menu for the day...but you can watch the progress of my day from the fitday link below, if you're interested.

My tip would be to journal your foods make sure you know what you are eating whether it be too little or too much either way you are setting yourself up for failure not too lose.
I was eating way too little I use to have this mentality of "hey I got fat from eating so I better not eat, big mistake funny as it sounds you do have to eat to lose"

I have to say hands down my favorite LC food is cheese. All and any kinds.

Unfortunately it is not a good choice for me--I have to use moderation.

I have to agree that eggs are the most versatile LC food available. I use them for eggs, rolls, casseroles, pancakes, you name it, you can probably use it for nearly any dish.

Kim I know where you are coming from, but this happens as we age too. I am the oldest here I can tell from experience. I was listening to the Doctors on TV this morning while cleaning yes I decided to organize all my girly things in my bathroom like I do not need 2 things of cotton balls to remove nail polish with put them together in one. See I need to get organized too since DH is working late shift I can get lots of things done.

Jennifer I was just teasing you on not seeing me, but it did make me feel good that for a min I thought I was small and you did not see me. that's not going to happen until this year.

Todays menu,
B-Protein shake
S-1 oz cheese
L-egg omlet with motzerella cheese in center with salsa
D-chicken rolled in parsmeian cheese

Water 100 punces more if I can
1 green tea
Excercise 75 crunches on ab lounger

My favorite low carb food is two - sour cream and cream cheese. What could go wrong in a day where you can have this stuff? Oh and heavy cream. Nummy.

Fav recipe might be this one I've made a couple of times in the past.

browned sausage
cooked and mashed cauliflower
8 oz softened cream cheese
couple of handfulls shredded cheese

Mix well, bake for 1/2 hour or until bubbly in a 350 degree oven. Love this one.

I hate it when I am not hungry and know I should eat. I took my L-Carnitine this morning too along with organizing things in my bathroom closet, I have had my protein drink I went in the ref. and saw 4 eggs left until tomorrow I thought I would have my omelet now and put them away I just grabbed a glass of water instead. I don't like it when this happens then when I do get hungry I grab anything in site, thank god only low carb foods in the house.

I know what you mean...ketosis is a good thing, but you have to push yourself to eat at times! It's a good problem to have!

It is and it's a great way to start our New Years thread!

And I didn't add my favorite LC food! I LOVE all of the other foods mentioned, eggs, wings and cheese, yummy...but my favorite is a big fat steak. In fact, I just got back from the grocery store and picked up three. They had a sale on New York Strips that, I swear, are 2" thick. I had them wrap them up separately so I could throw the other 2 in the freezer. I just have to hide them from DH !!!

So, guess what I'm having for dinner today? Yup, the big fat steak and sauteed mushrooms! I can't wait!

So, any plan for the weekend? Productive or fun?

Shelly Your steaks with mushrooms sounds so yummy, when is dinner? I forgot about mushrooms on steaks but of course I have not had a steak for a long time I eat mainly chicken or turkey.
This weekend lets see after I get back home from your house enjoying your steak. I am going to Super Target to do my grocery shopping, and a pair of slacks. I bought 1 pair last week but was not sure if I would like it, I do so I am going to buy another. Then hubby is going to do some work on his car while he is doing that I will get utility bills ready for taxes due to our business.
