Hope you have a great day,

Nope had to surrender license.. illegal to possess more than one... But I was glad to see it go. I was 8 mos pregnant in my last photo and spent 4+ hours waiting in line in 98 deg heat. Not a pretty photo.

Nope.

So I had 2 Van's all natural, home-style; zero trans fat; dairy & egg-free; no preservatives; gluten-free; wheat-free (whole grain brown rice flour); yadda yadda yadda ...WAFFLES w/ unsalted Butter + 2 Tbsp SF Smucker's syrup @ 40 carbs total.

So I've already blown it today

WHY am I doing this to myself ??

I did fantastic yesterday, ended at 22 carbs...
and then blew-it with a 15 carb whole-grain choc muffin just before bed.
End of day total = 37 carbs

(unfortunately, I found these in the freezer last week, I made 2 boxes of Southaven Farms Muffins & forgot about them; now that I've "discovered" them again; I've been sending them w/ hubby to work as quickly as possible to GET THEM OUT OF THE HOUSE and AWAY FROM MY MOUTH!!!!!)

Mon/Tues were disasters at 69 and 39 carbs, respectively.
Wed ended at 37 carbs.
Thu is already at 40 carbs.

WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY ?????

OK, rant over. I have to figure out HOW I'm gonna do this RIGHT ??

I'm going to eat VLC for the rest of today;
and start Deplete over (again) on Saturday.
Not Friday. I'm just don't want to start on Friday.
I'm going to have pizza & wine w/ DH on Friday night.

And then I'm going to Deplete Sat/Sun/Mon/Tue/Wed/Thu ~ 6 days.
and then Carb-up again next Friday.
That is my new(est) plan. Please hold my feet to the fire.

Meanwhile, at least I'm still not drinking alcohol/wine or smoking cigs!
I got my Wellbutrin yesterday + a bunch of other supplements.
Maybe that will help me?
I need HELP. I am sick of being OVERWEIGHT

I need a live-in Coach. I really do.
Do ya think Jillian Michaels would come live with me??

I wish I could come over there and yell at you in person!

I am proud of you on the smoking. I think the first three days are the hardest. After that you've come too far to go back.

Do you ever hate the mail? When I was a kid getting mail was always fun. These days not so much...

I owe the dentist another $200.00 after insurance and my 401K just had record losses over the last quarter. I think we are going to stop contributing until economy stabilizes.

Yikes. Maybe I will just skip the mailbox tomorrow.

I know... I get that it is all on paper and not really a loss until paid out.... BUT... I can't get past the fact that $x.xx is going there every pay period and 3 times that is dissapearing. Feelslike stuffing cash down the drain....

Hi ladies! Hope everyone is having a great evening!

And WTH, HB! Waffles??? I think you might want to "declutter/de-carb" your house, eh? Like really soon! With all of the cravings going on, carbs, wine and smoking *scream* ... don't tempt yourself by having that kind of thing around.

And remember my rule for late night eating...don't do it, just GO TO BED!!

One of the many things The Big C taught me is: Life is Too Damn Short. Boy, that wine tasted GOOD and it was just stellar w/ my grass-fed steak & caesar salad (w/ parmesan "croutons"). I know it's supposed to be 21 Days, but I refuse to feel like a "failure" BECAUSE I did go 5 days sans wine, and that's quite an accomplishment for ME!
(perhaps that's another reason why it tasted so great; what a missed treat!)

It's just tough for me to keep it under 20 carbs a day. Hormonally, women in general just don't do well on less than 30 carbs a day. (btinc told me that) and 30 carbs was always kinda my "magic number" for VLC. But 40-60 is generally better for me.

+ btinc told me that, metabolically, there's really not much diff btwn 20-50 carbs per day. some (a very lucky few) can even get into ketosis at 50-100 carbs.

I'm having some white wine tonight w/ my wild halibut!

might even enjoy a pear on my salad w/ goat cheese. Mmmmmmmm.
isn't it funny how much healthier our "cheat" foods have become?

I don't need that right now.
Once we start making excuses or justifications, it's pretty much impossible to succeed. Beating ourselves up is just the opposite extreme of that--also not helpful. Somewhere in the middle is where I think we need to land if we're going to be successful. Own it--allow ourselves to learn from it--then move on. Either of the extremes (self hate or excuses) just keep us spinning in circles. I understand that being rigid is not the way you want to live your life, but we are talking 1 week, a small period of time compared to the life time of potential rewards. We can either have what we want now, or what we want (and need) in the big picture---when it comes to weight loss we can't have both---so choices need to be made in order to succeed.

You deserve to succeed. Whether it's this plan or another, pick one that not only appeals to you but that knowing your body you believe will be the best and most healthy approach. Not one that someone else has suggested or that someone else is successful with--but one that is right just for you! Then, stick to it for the prescribed amount of time. Over time any plan can be tweaked and adapted, as long as we do that wisely based on our bodies and our needs (and even some of our wants!)--but we have to put in the work first. And, you might even be amazed that some of those wants just aren't that important once you have regained your health, self confidence, or whatever things you are striving for. But deal with that when you get there--right now there is business to take care of--so get to it!

OK--there's your butt kicking for today! Ladies--you heard her--she wants her feet held to the fire, so give her that tough love that she is needing!!

Oh--and HI to everyone else! Looks like you ladies are doing well. I'll have to check back in later when I have more time and see how all you Wendy Chant followers are doing. I'm reading her book right now, trying to get to the science behind it. Not sure that I really get why she says it works at this point, but hopefully you are all getting great results!

YAY "Tough Love Teresa" visited!

And HB - she is right and you know it

OK. I know my personal challenge is going to be next week.

As I was driving back from Columbia last night was on phone w/DH talking about dinner as both of us were getting home about 9pm. (Late for us, we usually eat at 6). He said "Stop for Pies on Pizza?" (My fave pizza place) I say, "Not tonight, tomorrow night is carb up". Big pause and he says "You aren't seriously planning to stay on plan next week while we are out of town are you? Because I'm telling you right now I am not."

I wanted to go through that phone and smack him.

I replied "That is fine if that is what you want to do. I know it is tough when traveling. I am going to keep to my plan though. I am tired of stopping and starting. I am sick of gaining and losing the same 8 pounds over and over. Don't worry. I can always find something to eat no matter where you want to go."

He says (and again I wanna smack him) "Thats why we shouldn't have even started back on this WOE until after this trip instead of after Christmas".

Having a diet partner is not always easier. He was a bit huffy I think because he wanted to have a "partner in crime". He is looking at it as a vaction therefor "free time". I am looking at it as "My gosh we JUST finished Christmas! And the scale is FINALLY moving"

I can already envision a trip full of stops at Burger King, Sub shops, Pizzerias, Cinnabon and Dunkin Donuts (cause I know my hubby too well). I think he will tempt me because me on plan makes him feel guilty about him being off plan (my amateur psych eval for the day).

My chore today is to think about this and come up with solutions to make it easier for me. I will give y'all my gameplan for inspection later today.

I can not believe yesterday I thought Hey I am doing great I had 1 cup of brocalli as my veggie, but there was such a small amount to put back in freezer I decided to have the last of it which was one more cup, OMG never again I had such pains from gas in tummy and here I had taken my fiber pills already in the morning. I think I will back off on brocalli for at least 2 days.
Today I did have hot wings though 0 carbs dipped in ranch dressing 0 carbs. Haven't had them in a long time. Yummy
It is so nice here I have been outside working in yard the last few days getting in exercise and weeding. Double duty.
I had a temporary crown put in yesterday I hate them can not floss in between them

Aloha & Happy Friday !!!!!!!!!!

Whew. What a week, eh? (where's the exhausted smiley?)

Looks like I have a lot of catch-up reading to do!!!!!!!!

It's a freaking GORGEOUS day here in N California ...
Believe it or not ... it's Sunny & Warm (75 degrees) in January!!
(but oh, we'll pay dearly later w/ summer water shortage & fall wildfires)

BUT right NOW ... it is WONDERFUL & I've had my laptop outside all day!
I think I even got a little "color" . . . Ahhhhhhhhh! Sure beats snow!

Well, it looks like I'll be in the DC area during the week of Aug 10th ~
probably Tues/Wed/Thurs ...
so for those in the DC area ...
let's definitely get a date on the map for a DC LCF Dinner! FUN!

* I think I figured out why I'm having a tough time Depleting ~
(in addition to the good points y'all made re: too much at once!)

* It's the same reason that drove me to try CTFLC in the 1st place ~
It's because LowCarb/HighFat is just NOT FOR ME (anymore).
I know it works (it worked for me to drop 20 lbs last year) ~
and trust me, NOTHING has ever worked for me before (that was healthy & legal )

* I just can't tolerate (anymore) the "High Fat" it takes to stay satiated on LowCarb ~
It's just too much fat; it's just too greasy; I get sick of meat & cheese & eggs; I want GRAINS.
Not crap carbs -- whole grains + I wanna be able to eat ANY veggie & ANY fruit that I please.
I love love love ALL berries and I adore bananas! (which of course, the nanna's are full of sugar)

* I was already sick () of the High Fat on LowCarb ~
(that's ONE reason WHY I switched over to CTFLC) !

So the Deplete Week (aka Induction) is just bad timing for me ~
Since I'm already so sick of meat/cheese/eggs/saturated fat, in general.

* But of course, THAT's exactly what it's gonna take for the 7 Deplete Days ~
Hence my struggle (losing battle) to stay Very Low Carb the past 2 weeks!
If I hadn't already been LowCarbing for 9 months, it'd probably be a cinch;
Just like the 2 weeks Induction was for me last March. No sweat.

Sooooo . . . anyhoo! That is my little "Epiphany".
But of course I just gotta suck it up ... and Just Do It ... for 7 Days.

So right now I'm meal planning & strategizing for Tomorrow!

SUCCESS, here I come (finally) !!!!!!!!!!

It's gonna be tough; but mind over matter ~ right ??
+ I bought a bunch of anti-craving supplements to help me
+ I now have the Wellbutrin, too ~ whew!
(FYI: Bad Cravings? Try this!)

oh & since everyone seems to be changing their avi, thought I would do a new pic of me too!
(but a small confession to make ... those are not MY hands holding the whip! shhhhhh! )

OK, I'm off to wrap up some more travel for da boss ...
(and 4 me 2 ~ on the phenomenal airfare sale ending today)

Then a ball & frisbee romp w/ the dawgs ~
and then LC Beer & LC Pizza & Wine ~
(our sacrosanct Friday ritual )
+ Survivor & LOST (TIVO'd) w/ Hubby!

My 3rd (last) Deplete Cycle begins TOMORROW!!!
The 3rd time is a charm . . . right?? Right!!

Where is everyone?

Did I miss the question of the day yesterday?

This thread moves so fast sometimes I miss stuff.

I am disappointed no one busted my chops yesterday! I'd bust yours - I would!

I kidding here girls.

I'll think of a question:

What does everyone do here for themselves. What is your passion other than your families, jobs, WOE?

My big things are scrounging around for spiffy stuff in thrift stores and flea markets. I love to find original works of art that someone painted and then the piece lost its way. I have several hanging in my house.

My other big thing is decorating and fashion. Love that stuff! I am always digging in my collection of mags coming up with ideas. Many never come to anything, but it's fun in the planning. I can't WAIT to be a size or two smaller so I can start shopping in my darn closet. That will be wicked-fun.

Morning!

I'll bust your chops missy...
Well I don't have a "chop busting" emot, but bend over and I'll kick you in the butt !

OK, so I read your post and it sooooo fits right in with my question of the week (earlier this week) about stress and how you handle it.

What have you learned from the way you handled the stress this time? Did the Cheeto's or sandwich or peanut butter make any of those stresses go away? No...

So, let's come up with a plan for next time you start feeling out of control!

I'm off to the fabric store...buying stuff to make a friends dog a down vest *snicker* - this should be fun!

Question of the Day ~

What are you doing this weekend? Are you going to be getting any extra exercise?

HB,

I think you should just move on up the ladder (atkins-ism) and add everything back into your diet...except the white and processed crap.

Think health and portion control...and not so much a quick fix. I mean it's not quick if you know you won't stick with it, right?

It might be worth it to you in the long run to eat a balanced "lower carb" menu where nothing is off limits. Set some realistic ranges for calories/carbs/fat and see if that work. I mean you might only lose the normal 1.5-2 pounds a week, but you'll be happier and be able to stick with a plan.

South Beach (the concept not the crap in the store) might be a good one for you to look at. Just steer clear of the extremes if they're not working for you!

Such good points. I know what I should have done. Gotten my butt down to the NT and went a hard distance.

Nice!
