Hey y'all !!
I am alcohol-free; sugar-free; crap carb-free & grain carb-free for 5 days now!!

I'm on Day 5 of my Carb Deplete; 2 more days to go...
(16 more days sans alcohol/wine for total of 21 days)

I got an Rx for nicotine patches from the Doc on Wed;
but since life insurance is already a challenge for me (due to The Big C)
I don't think I'm gonna fill it.

We also discussed tapering me off Effexor (slowly)
and getting me on Wellbutrin--because that one is good for depression AND nicotine cravings!

and then there wouldn't be any notations in my "history" re: being a smoker.
(currently I cannot increase my life insurance and that would seal the deal)
+ it would increase my life ins rates FO SHO!

Sooo, I am now tapering my Effexor (half dose since Wed)
and then I'll go on the Wellbutrin and QUIT for GOOD!!
(tho now I'm not smoking much at all; no alcohol helps a great deal

AND I got some different pain pills...
(the Percocet makes me wanna smoke)
So far, the Vicodin does not give that "rush"
So the desire to smoke has decreased lots!

I'm on the Road to Recovery and GOOD HEALTH once and for all

I'm down a couple of lbs, eating on track; once I hear from orthopedic surgeon
(I had another MRI done today)
I can re-add exercise (hopefully)

I'm not too concerned since Wendy Chant says "don't sweat the exercise" during deplete week.
Cause due to very low carb, there's low energy...
And don't want to create a deficit and send body into "starvation mode"...
Because THAT makes us retain what we are trying to lose -- FAT!!

On Sunday, I plan to post my menu/macros for the week of Jan 5-11.

XO,
HB

$25 a month? That's cheap! So, that plus the airfare, huh? I'll chat with DH and check my project schedule at work...it just might work!

Count me in. I was planning to decline but Jacksonville makes it much more doable as that is only a three hour or so drive from my house. Plus I have relatives there so no hotel.

Any of the folk in NC or round abouts would be welcome to drive part way and then carpool.

Well it should be interesting. Though I have to say, reading between two threads makes me kinda sad. I didn't even know where the others were posting until I read HB's post.

OH and have been doing fine on food. Not going to post menu as it was pretty much a copy of last few days.

DD much better today and hungry again. Still no one else sick so think we dodged the bullet.

Extra 2 dogs go home tomorrow after thier month here. HOORAY. I love 'em but it's been a lotta dog.

Hopefully with everyone well and dogs leaving things will be back to normal on Monday.

Oh and we (DH & I) starting week 2 of CTFLC today. We are only 2 days ahead of the others in the rotation so I don't think it will make much difference. Weighed this morning to see how much lost on deplete week. 185 so 4 pounds lost. Nice. There goes the water weight from holidays. 1.5 more to go to be back at "pre Christmas/New Years weight".

Aloha, HB!

Nice challenge! I think I can handle the sugar and crap free portion. Though with what has been happening in my personal life, I think some wine may be in order.

You're doing GREAT HB! And I went the wellbutrin route when I quit smoking. I think I only took them for about a month though...just to get through the rough patch. My sister took the other one...I can't remember the name, starts with a C. She said it helped but gave her headaches. But, hey anything that can get you through the hard part is worth a little headache, right?

I am. I guess I don't mention him very much because we have different hobbies and activity levels. Plus he works a grave yard-ish shift...and sad to say his sleep patterns don't change very much on the weekends. So, he doesn't participate in very much my fun activities, so that's why you hear about DD being my tag-along partner!

I think we spend more time together on vacations than any other time during the year! Maybe that's why we've been married for 25 years, w00t!

Good to hear you're doing well on your plan! And that's great to have the whole family involved in the plan, makes it so much easier!

Plans for today:
So, DD and I are heading out to find ski gloves, do some mall walking and then out to lunch. Should be fun!

Other than that, it's weights today and pm stretch...then studying *sigh* !!!

Question of the Day ~
When is the last time you introduced a new veggie or fruit into your diet? What was it? And if you haven't in a loooong time, do it and then tell us what you tried!

Chat later!

Shelly I had no idea neither that you were married, 25 years at that. I am right behind you at 23. You look so young in your picture, must have gotten married as a baby.

YAY!! This totally makes my day! Seriously.

Any of the folk in NC or round abouts would be welcome to drive part way and then carpool.
Are you anywhere near Cary, NC?

Well it should be interesting. Though I have to say, reading between two threads makes me kinda sad. I didn't even know where the others were posting until I read HB's post.

I hear ya. But at least this way we can stay in touch...
And this is gonna be quite motivating for both sides!
I really don't think we could have planned it any better, if we'd tried!
The silver lining is: we ALL get to actually hang-out together next year!
(would be nice if our 2 groups could assemble 1 day/evening in advance of everyone else so we could have a little Reunion/Awards Dinner of our own!) this is always a good idea for Cruises anyway, in case of "airline delays/mishaps" as the Ship waits for no one!

OH and have been doing fine on food.

Good job!!

DD much better today and hungry again. Still no one else sick so think we dodged the bullet.

Excellent News!!

Extra 2 dogs go home tomorrow after their month here. HOORAY. I love 'em but it's been a lotta dog.

Who's dogs were staying with y'all + what kind of dogs?
(I have 4 dogs (various collies) so I empathize w/ a lotta dog!

Oh and we (DH & I) starting week 2 of CTFLC today. We are only 2 days ahead of the others in the rotation so I don't think it will make much difference.

Oh that's totally fine; many "Crackers" are at slightly different levels.
For me, I may actually have to repeat the Deplete Week
(I went a little crazy on carbs yesterday but NO Alcohol! Go Me! )
It wasn't "the munchies" per se, it was ALL the coffee/cream I drank all day!
More on that later; I'll be asking for your opinion/advice...K?

Weighed this morning to see how much lost on deplete week. 185 so 4 pounds lost. Nice. There goes the water weight from holidays. 1.5 more to go to be back at "pre Christmas/New Years weight".

Oh THAT must feel GREAT!! Nicely done.
I can't wait to be back to my pre-holiday binge weight!
(Just hoping it's BEFORE mid-Feb when I go back to Hawaii for 4 days!

RIGHT!!
HOW LONG AGO DID YOU QUIT??
FOR HOW LONG WERE YOU A SMOKER??

GOTCHA! THAT MUST BE TOUGH AT TIMES TO BE ON SUCH DIFFERENT SCHEDULES...
...ESP AROUND THE HOLIDAYS.
BUT MAY ALSO BE GOOD 'CAUSE ABSENCE MAKES THE HEART GROW FONDER!
WHAT DOES HE DO FOR A LIVING??

I think we spend more time together on vacations than any other time during the year! Maybe that's why we've been married for 25 years, w00t!

THE SECRET TO A LONG & HAPPY MARRIAGE IS: "A BAD MEMORY"!!
(R U TAKING NOTES, MS. RECENTLY-ENGAGED DAISY?? )

I don't think it'll let you put an image in your siggie.

NOPE

Good to hear you're doing well on your plan! And that's great to have the whole family involved in the plan, makes it so much easier!

YEP!! ABSOLUTELY!!
NO JUNK IN THE HOUSE TO TEMPT ME!!
DH EATS WHAT I BUY/PREPARE/EAT!!

Plans for today:
So, DD and I are heading out to find ski gloves, do some mall walking and then out to lunch. Should be fun!

ENJOY!!
HOW OLD IS DD??
DOES SHE STILL LIVE WITH YOU??
ANY OTHER KIDDOS??

Other than that, it's weights today and pm stretch...then studying *sigh* !!!

YOU'RE SO DILIGENT. CAN YOU PLZ RUB OFF ON ME??

Question of the Day ~
When is the last time you introduced a new veggie or fruit into your diet? What was it? And if you haven't in a loooong time, do it and then tell us what you tried!

WHERE DO YOU GET THESE GREAT QUESTIONS??
OUT OF THE SMART BRAIN OF YOURS??

I'D HAVE TO SAY THE JICAMA FRENCH FRIES.
AND THE MASHED-CAULIFLOWER & ZOODLES (ZUCCHINI NOODLES)
THO I'VE HAD EACH B4, BUT NOT PREPARED LIKE THAT!

AN ENTIRELY NEW VEGGIE OR FRUIT??
REALLY NOT SURE...GONNA HAVE TO PONDER...

Chat later!

LATER TATER!!

Shelly
Jeanne
Alberta

but you gotta keep posting over here too!! thems da rules!!

I'm going to have Hubby figure out a spreadsheet to base this challenge on % of weight lost ~
it will NOT be lb for lb as that would NOT be fair (for them) ~
sooooo I please need everyone's weights as of January 1, 2009.

1000 Dankes!!
