You silly girl...I thought I left a trail of breadcrumbs for you!

So looks like the consensus is....I CAN DRINK COFFEE!! Whew. I was starting to worry about that but you are right YH, you have lost a lot of weight drinking it and so have I, so hopefully we will continue.

SC, I am so sorry to hear about your son and his accident at work. Wow, he is lucky he didn't get injured badly! Too bad about gf but maybe it's for the best to find out early in a relationship, ya know? Hopefully they will work things out but if not, then you get your boy back!!

Glad to hear I am not the only one who HATES ironing. I think back to my ex-husb and the guy would actually iron his jeans. And my clothes too! Man, I should have kept him around just to do the laundry.

E, I am on my THIRD husband. I like to think he's my last. Married way too young at 19 to my high school sweetheart and only 10 months into the marriage, discovered the cad was cheating on me so off he went! Met my kids' father 6 yrs later and was with him for 2 kids and 12 yrs but we just didn't get along -- too much bickering and so we parted ways. Met my dh a little over 10 yrs ago and been married for 9. They say 3rd one's the charm.

I'm happy we're here -- hope the others follow soon!

D

Well Miss A - now you got me dated here and im thinking 20 Mule Team Borax !! I bet D dont remember this stuff. And DALLAS, I just love that show and never missed a one. I can just see you in your Little Lucy boots, I had a pair of those Nancy Sinatra ones that I would wear with the super mini's, ahhh - those were the days. H- I really think you would like Callanetics and it does work - I dont really think its like yoga but Callan has a soothing voice and all.

These boots were made for walking... Oh YH, I remember lots of those things -- it's my short-term memory that's giving out on me.

I always hated Lucy on Dallas. Stuck-up lil thing that she was. I liked Sue-Ellen. Man, she could give you a look to kill.

No, I never did buy a new scale. It's on my list. I really would like to see one in a store to see how heavy-duty they are but I keep forgetting to look! I think a computer chair is first in line though. This one is ready to fall apart and I don't think I can reach the keyboard from the floor.

So here I am getting on everyone's case about posting menu's and I totally forgot to post mine! I tell ya, this short-term memory loss is killing me!

Yesterday's menu:

B-2 scrambled eggs, spinach, coffee
L-grilled chicken salad
D-2 turkey burgers, cauliflower, salad
S-cottage cheese, hardboiled egg, babybel lite

I think it was a good day -- kept on plan even with my snacks. Hopefully today will be even better.

Dh & I are going back and forth on visting his sister. He wants to go tomorrow afternoon. I want this afternoon or tomorrow morning because it's a 2 hour drive each way and I've got kids coming home tomorrow night, who may be traveling for the 4th wkd and I want to see them before they go anywhere. My 16 yr old thinks he's 21 and is scheming up a trip with a few friends to South Dakota, 4 hours from here. I don't think so!! So I think Mom needs to be home to make sure, know what I mean??

No Curves today. Looks pretty gray out there so if we don't go to dh's sister's, I may not get in the pool either unless the weather clears up!

Okay ladies, pls don't let me be talking to myself today. We're still waiting on some of you gals....Miss A, T, C, SC....c'mon over!!

Terrific Name!

Circle of Seven it is! A smashing name.

Oh, did I love Dallas. There were some repeated episodes on Sky tv not so long ago, and I was glued to them. There was the shooting of JR, the death of Jock, the crackup of Sue Ellen (remember when she was in the drying-out home and sold her pearls to the attendant in return for more booze? That was agony - I love pearls: think they are beautiful). Then Pam found her momma - so lucky she was by then lovely and rich - little Lucy married Mitch who didn't care that LL was lovely and rich. Everyone adored Dallas back in the early 80's, that's except my sniffy late mother-in-law. You could buy "Who shot JR?" teeshirts in Oxford Street!

Lucy in those cowgirl boots! A pair of boots I really coveted in the mid 60's were those black vinyl "kinky" boots. In the school holidays I gathered up the money I'd been hoarding and went to Dolcis (fairly down-market shoe chain) in Brixton (scruffy area of S London) and asked to try on a pair. I was a fat schoolgirl. The boots wouldn't zip up my legs The charmless assistant suggested I try on the box instead. Oh, the shame.

Denise - I quite enjoy ironing - it's soothing. But what is this magical de-wrinkling spray? TRoATU does all his own ironing! It's the army training! He's a real perfectionist when it comes to his teeshirts. Actually, I have crinkled-effect duvet covers. Ironing duvet covers! That would be going too far! I do hope you find a good comfortable chair for your computer area though, that's good for your back.

Have I been posting a lot today! You'll be sick of me... love to all

Actually, I like it much better when we're all chatty and posting a lot. I hate coming to the board and seeing no new posts -- so chat away Miss A!!

Wrinkle Remover -- it's something you spray on your wrinkled clothes and then pull and smooth and voila!! The wrinkles are gone! I have boys -- they don't care about wrinkles anyway. I am lucky I can get ds2 to wash his clothes before he wears 'em.

What was Lucy's name again, Ill have to look her up. Hope all went well and the dr. E and D with your visit. Well I got so insprired by our circle of seven that I stopped at the gym after work and did 2.3 miles, now it took me 45 minutes but maybe thats because of the incline which I switch around from 1 to 4. E, you must be running when you do the 4 miles !

D, I forgot to tell you how much I like our new name! It sounds like one of my Nora Roberts books Seven different characters(and I do mean characters) doing our own thing but having a common goal
I plan on losing some weight this week,I'm back on the prescription water pill.I don't know how long it takes to work but I have no excuses now.Since I've gotten older I've lost really slow so I'll try not to get frustrated.
YH, did you spend a whole day at work? I hope you had a good day.
Just waiting for the rest of our crew to find us

Good heavens we're a blab-by group LOL Here D just sets up the thread & there's a ton of posts to read
It's storming here again. Boy no one can scream drought this year--it's been storming all across the country all summer!! It's pretty humid

Glad to hear that Lucy got pudgy....meow....
I really enjoyed the first few seasons. Then the plot got old. The worst was the whole season that went by & Bobby woke up & it was all a dream. That was the end for me LOL When Dynasty was on I was 28 & the girl in the apt across the hall use to exercise with me (the babies were in bed) & then we'd curl up on her sofa & drink wine & watch the new episode. We are still friends--she's in my Euchre club. We were so skinny then & thought we were fat--now we're really fat & know it

Downy Wrinkle Remover??? And it really takes the wrinkles out of cotton??? How come no one told me about this??? Have only had one client who wanted me to iron & it was the last one who died. She was a sweetie! All she wanted was her pillow cases done as she had me make her bed up beautiful each time with all the extra toss pillows etc. I had went to her place & did everything up so nicely & cleaned out her fridg & had it all set up for her return. Sad. Guess no one ever told her about Downy either.

Yeah D they all think they are 21 from the time they are 16 & can drive LOL And momma is nobodies fool!!

Went to visit my folks today & they took me to lunch at their regular Wed Italian place. Were so happy to introduce me to all their old cronies that are there every Wed. Boy was it hard to pull something out of that menu!
The salad bar didn't look all that great so I ended up getting a Reuben that was a special for the day & eating the sauerkraut & corn beef, which was quite lean, & leaving most of the bread. Too much talking, no one really noticed that I'd pulled the crispy bread off--maybe they thought my dentures wouldn't chew it Came w/a bag of chips so no tempt w/fries. Now that I think about it the lady next to me got the pulled pork on a large grilled onion roll & she only ate the meat. Didn't eat her chips either. She's a little ole lady so it wasn't dieting. Anyway it was a fun time and when we left they were all calling across the restaurant bring your daughter again. What a hoot to do so little & make so many happy.

Tomorrow I am going to get some chicken salad made up & in the fridg. Boil a few eggs too. Am trying to not have so much cheese as my fill in. I love cheeses & can fill w/it all day long....not good. That's some of my overdoing I
was talking about D. I have not had any of my lc ice cream bars this week as I ate them like a crazy woman last week....have been trying to stay away from the nuts too since my colonoscopy. So I am kind of stuck here trying figure out a new approach to things. Been too stressed to really carefully check things out & rethink my plan. Don't want to just fill all the gaps w/SB bars.
I need to check out the CL pink grapefruit powder. Am trying to not do so much diet pop & can't drink the iced tea too late in the day.

I quit reading all the articles about this that & the other cause I was getting all confused eggs no/yes coffee no/yes this or that supplement no/yes every few months things change all over again. Protein/veggies/exercise that pretty much seems to cover it. Y is proof that the stupid pain in the behind exercise is essential.... I hate to exercise & it has really slowed me down I know! T you are doing so good with the exercising & see it's taken you to that pair of brown I think you said pants. And I know that the exercise is so hard on you--kutgw!!!!

Have to figure out what to take to the BBQ this weekend. And you are right D for this there are usually plenty of good choices with veggie & fruit trays & meat off the grill. Just have to stand up to all the pasta salads & desserts....
Well the way it's crashing & booming around here I need to get off before I loose this loonnggg post!

I guess that means you're having thunder and lightning, eh C? I sure miss that from growing up in Indiana. It's a rarity to have it out here, maybe once a year we get it, and then it starts a fire! We are still having smoke from the fires, esp. the Big Sur one. It's not all that close, but we go out and find silver ash all over our cars cause the smoke drifts up the bay. They're having a really hard time getting that one under control--it was a lightning start.

Sounds like you had such a nice lunch with your folks, C. It's so wonderful you get to spend a lot of time with them. How's your friend who is expecting doing? When's her baby due?

Yeah, C, I think the extra exercise is helping me. And I don't know why I am able to do more now than I was last year, except maybe because it's summer and I usually have less pain then. I'm wondering if the neurontin is helping some of my pain, too. Anyway, you are getting in more exercise now, too, with the airwalker and the pool--I'm sure that's going to pay off over the long haul!

Too bad it's gray again, D, I know how much you were looking forward to going to the pool! Where did you go to visit dh's sister? Does she have kids? Hope you had a nice trip, had a fun visit, stayed on plan. Were you going to have lunch or dinner with her? And thanks for starting the new thread--seven's an auspicious number!

Y, so glad you are feeling well enough to get back to exercising--congrats on going so long on the mill! You're on your way to dropping more lbs.! How's it going with the new roomy and bf? Is he still keepin it together?

E, did you get to the dr. today? What did he say about your bp and retaining water? Did you get some new meds? Congrats on knocking off another 3 miles! Now is this on the treadmill or out and about?

Miss A, your menu looked delicious today, and right on target! You'll be fitting into those white jeans in no time! It's funny how many American shows you like. What are some of your favorite British shows? I used to love the comedy Coupling--what a riot! And so many of the series your marvelous BBC comes out with. Life on Mars was another one dh and I loved. And all the detective episodes starring Helen Mirren. And of course the many Pride and Prejudice series. Anything on Masterpiece theater. I am afraid I can't join in the conversation on Dallas, though--never saw it, or whatever that Lucy thing was.

SC, hope you find us!

I rode the bike 3 times today, for a total of 40 mins. And did some more floor exercises. I didn't want to drive across town to have lunch at my favorite Mexican restaurant and go do at the gym what I could do with a few hand held weights and a mat at home. Gas is just way too expensive! D, I don't know how you afford driving the long distances you have to in NE! Here's today's menu:

B - egg, spinach, sausage
L - salad w/grilled chicken breast
D - roast chicken thigh, asparagus
S - string cheese, almonds and cashews

Have a nice night, and a good day tomorrow, everyone! T.

Nice to come home to find all these posts! Glad you made your way over C & T. Seems everyone has been yakking up a storm today!

Speaking of storms, yep, we are getting them too, C. Lots of thunder and lightening. I don't remember ever getting this much rain either. But the ranchers are happy for it -- we have such drought conditions normally.

We went to visit dh's sister today. Left here at noon and got home around 10 pm, I'm tired!! She is 8 yrs older than dh, so her kids are all married with kids of their own. In fact, she has 7 grandchildren!! We were there to see the latest, her daughter's new little baby girl born in May. They live in Minnesota and were visiting for the week. Dh and I stopped at KMart on the way and bought the baby tons and tons of clothes since we hadn't seen her yet. It was so much fun shopping for a little girl!! We visited with them for a few hours and then went to Wal-Mart where I bought a new computer chair, along with some clothes for the boys and groceries and spent a ton more $$. I couldn't find a bathing suit coverup but I did get a pr of cheap flip flops to wear to the pool. Pink, so cute and they were on clearance for $1. Can't do better than that!

I've been cutting back on the cheese too, C. Last week I boiled up about 8 or 9 eggs and snacked on those thru-out the week. Eggs aren't as bad for the cholesterol as they used to think and as long as you don't go crazy eating a ton in one day, I think they're fine to have everyday. I bought a cucumber, pork rinds and strawberries today and will munch on those this week. I get tired of the same old, same old.

Today's menu:

B-coffee
S-1 tbsp natural p'nut butter (just to raise low blood sugar)
L-grilled chicken salad, bunless burger
D-bunless burger, side salad

Water-64 oz and counting

We were on the road for lunch & supper so had no choice except for fast food since we didn't have the time to sit for a long time in a real restaurant. I was pretty good at eating those burgers without even nibbling on the buns. I just kept thinking of that 50 lb goal and how close I am to it. Dh's sister wanted us to stay for supper but I held firm and said no. I knew she was making tacos and it wasn't with low-carb shells and she had other kids and grandkids coming over so doubtful she'd have enough lettuce for me to make a taco salad for myself. It's just not worth the "cheat" to me. At least eating at fast food, I knew I could get the burger and salad even if dh succumbed to the strawberry sundae at McDonald's, the brat!!

T, I just read tonight in my Prevention magazine that a study found ppl suffered less pain if they exercise 3 or more days per week versus those that exercise 2 or less days. I wonder if that's what is happening with you? In any event, keep up the good work -- you are doing awesome!! Sure hope the fires don't get too close to you like last time!! You'd think we own stock in the gas companies, the way we go thru it around here. But everything is so darn far, I guess we are just used to driving long distance to go anywhere. We are lucky that dh drives a company vehicle (brand new Chevy Blazer) which he takes home with him so he has virtually no gas to buy for himself during the week. We just have my mini-van and the gas for the vehicle ds2 drives and he doesn't do much driving since he lives at the ranch 6 days a week. Ds1 is old enough that he pays for his own gas, thank goodness.

So E, what pills did the dr put you on? I am on Lasix. My dr just upped my dosage because the heat was making me swell even more than normal. What did he say about your knee? And yes, we sure are a bunch of characters, aren't we?? I don't know if that is a good thing or not, but it's probably a good thing we don't live too close to each other or we'd really be getting in lots of trouble!!

YH, you are going gung-ho on the exercise too! Wow -- 2.3 miles -- good for you. I bet that incline gives you a tough workout. Keep at it!! How are your ribs feeling?? And how is bf doing? Any news from the dr yet?

I'm hoping to get to the pool tomorrow. I really wish they'd allow adults to swim more than 1 hour a day but I guess the swimming is good exercise for the kiddos and keeps them busy, so I can't complain too much.

Good morning everyone,

I would think the water pill would work immediately E, which one did you get ? And just your knee retains water ? My knee slips off and on but have not bothered to see a knee dr. yet, other dr. thought i needed it scoped. You are sure to lose some weight this week ! My plan is to get all the dr. tests this year because I fear my ins. will be worse come 2009 but had to take a break from it. I have a lousy back E and for sure its way better since the weight loss, instead of hurting daily it comes in bouts.

Try the downey stuff C, it works good enough for me - BF takes all his shirts to the cleaners, 1.50 each, well worth it. He has to dress up everyday. Yes, I remember those days when skinny and dieting, back then I could shed 10 pounds before the weekend on some crazy diet. Sure is harder the older you get. You need to get an exercise routine going - honestly I dont think I could have lost this weight without exercising even tho not eating much. Now im addicted to the skinny cow cones ( bought choc. last nite ) but they are 50 cals. more than the healthy choice, not sure about the fat. Did you ever give WW a shot C ? I remember my mother making me iron my brothers underwear ! Nice visit with your parents !

Miss A - I guess we are going to ship anything thats needs an iron to you since you find it relaxing A bubble bath sounds much nicer. Do you have warm mineral springs in England. Thermal waters, etc. called many different names. I love mineral springs - there is one on the west coat of Fl. that I have not been to in awhile. I know you have them in CA T - a few in Palm Springs - I am going to go one of these days, so good for aches and pains. Sitting here with my melt belt on, surely you could find one on ebay.

I have been reading about all the fires in the paper T and how busy the ER rooms are. You are really doing great on the bike T, is it a recumbant bike. Im afraid of the bike as I did it once at the gym and something happened the next day - I think the knee went out. BF should know something from the dr. today on the polyp, he is very cranky but he has not gone balistic on the new guest yet as this is on his mind. I enjoy all the Masterpiece Theatre stuff, and the British detective series, just finished one about the blind detective-can't remember his name right now.

Sounds like you had a great visit D and oh I love shopping for baby clothes, what fun. Good thing you escaped the taco fiasco and made it thru the fast food being a good d
