D,I just looked at the stats too,and you and YH's weight loss is just AWESOMEIt makes me think I can get to goal one day.I haven't seen 140lbs since I was 40 yrs old.I am going to do it this time with the encouragement from you guys I feel bad about putting dh in such an unflattering light. He really is VERY supportive of me and he doesn't ever say anything about me gaining weight. He still says I'm beautiful, its just before I met all of you I was on a different diet every week, and not really serious about any of them.As soon as I wanted something off plan,it was oh well,I'll do good tomorrow.
I have been doing so good for a whole month, that he hates to see me set myself up for failurehe really is proud of me and wants me to keep doing what I've been doing. When I was younger(around 40) I went to so many diet drs. and tried every plan out there.I was on that Phen-fen that has caused heart scaresWhen I was 20 I was on some diet pill that REALLY worked, that I now realize was some type of speedso you see, this has been an on going thing.
YH,what size were you when you and bf got together?Has he seen you at 200lbs?
My last meal would have to be fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, corn on the cob and a warm brownie, with vanilla ice cream covered in chocolate syurp!Yum Yum.My mouth is watering Now where in the whole world would you visit if you could?I would love to go to the Netherlands.Maybe I'll get there one day

We must all be a little hungry and tired of diet foods today, huh! All the musing about our last meals! Well, my hope is that when we all get to our goal weights is that we will be able to enjoy SMALL, OCCASIONAL amounts of those things we lust for now! I think we are learning through this lengthy process how to do that, because we have been able to resist binges and eat smaller portions, and exercise. And you're right D, that is key to weight loss and helps keep it off. Before I got foot trouble, I walked a lot and I could eat just about whatever I wanted to and not gain. Ahhhh, those were the good ole days!

And now for all the happy congratulations! to you, D, for getting into the 270's!! That is tremendous! It hasn't taken you that long, either! It is so great you are exercising, too--you are building a healthy lifetime habit, and it will help you stay firmer. Good thing you didn't go into the diet program with those gals at the pool! They don't look like they would have been a very good influence; on the other hand, it looks like you would have been winning the money every week!

to you, Y, for getting into the 120's!! That is just incredible! I sure wish I were there! Maybe someday--you are such an inspiration. It's heartening to hear that we have played a part in your success!

to you, E, for hanging in there and getting the drop you deserved after working so hard exercising and sticking to the plan!! It is tough to stay on a plan when you don't see immediate results--so happy it finally showed a loss for you! I know low carb can be like that at times; I often hear people talk about a "whoosh" like you had after a couple of weeks or more of not seeing a loss on the scale. I'm glad dh is supporting you at least to lose the weight. Hope your friend will be inspired by your example--just the walking should help her.

C, on not gaining through all these stresses, traveling, and parties! That's a major accomplishment in itself! And you are right, the slow weight loss and dietary changes you have made are likely to be permanent. You will drop some more when things calm down and you can refocus on it. And as you determine to add some exercise, that will help too.

Hope the scale was good to you today, too, SC!

MsA, hope you are still working on it!

The good thing about being sick is that I have not had such a big appetite, and have been eating less! I've been eating smaller portions throughout the day, with more vegetables, less protein, and a little fruit. And now I can even wear the smallest of my size 12 jeans! I have less of the muffin top, so I feel I can wear them all out of the house now. I actually never thought I would get here! So I feel a size 10 is not too far off, and and 8 might even be a possibility! I have found out from this that I need to eat smaller lunches. I have always eaten a small breakfast, and a light dinner, but lunch could be fairly large. I think it was holding me back. Anyway, I can always have a snack if I get hungry later! (That's always a tough one to convince yourself of)

Dh went to the farmers' market this morning and got some fish and vegetables, and some fruit. I hope he got the little red plums again because they are very tasty, but not real sweet. They make a perfect little desserty snack and are a perfect compliment to almonds. I think we are going to have fresh tuna and salad for lunch. Will try to check back in later. Hope you all are having a fun day after a stellar weigh-in this morning! T.

E, your dh sounds like a really nice guy and I'm sure he just wants you to be happy and healthy. Heck, last night after supper, I said, "Boy am I full." And dh replied, "Well you should be, with all you ate." He's lucky I didn't knock his block off!! But here he is in the kitchen now, making me another batch of beef jerkey, so I forgive him!! Husbands are like that, aren't they??

Congrats to you too, T on getting into smaller sizes! The fish and fresh fruit sound so yummy!! I wish we had a farmer's market nearby. I those! My lunches are always pretty small, it's my dinners that I have to work on. And the night time snacking -- I'm really trying to improve on that. I went to FitDay.com and figured out that I'm burning about 500-600 calories a night swimming, so that is helping me lately, kind of cancels out 1/3rd or close to 1/2 of my calories each day. Don't know what I'll do once the summer is over. No indoor pools around for 60 miles so guess I will have to bite the bullet and do some indoor exercises or show up on YH's doorstep.

One place in the world I would love to visit?? Hawaii I think. I miss the ocean so much and I love tropical beaches.

Hi, y'all,

Been a busy week, (understatement) as we had a person out in our dept and I worked over every night. Came home and hit the sack.

Weigh in: still holding at 6lbs lost. Still feel great on the SB diet.

Congrats to Yh and your 2lbs lost, you are sooo close to your goal. Gives me hope, it does. 120's sound heavenly.

Great going, E on your 4lbs!

D, congrats on the new set of numbers. Never thought of how "bite of Dh's muffin" sounded. He really does get to eat most of his meals, he usually just saves me the last, tiniest bite to savor! I'm still LOL at the UPS man.

T, sorry you are feeling under the weather, hope you get better soon. SB frozen dinners are a goodly portion of protein with non-starchy veggies. I really like them, so I hope they don't stop making them. You will be in those jeans before you know it.

C, I agree, staying the same is better than gaining. Hang in there, you can do it.

Miss A, hope you are ok.

Today and tomarrow, we are finishing the inside of the old house, last bit of packing up for Salvation Army, so the carpet guys can install on Monday.
Then the last area if the old garage. That will be another weekend however.
House is looking great. Keeping up two yards with the watering is something else, I tell you.

It was 105 here today, I did try to walk at 9pm in my neighborhood with dog, Dh and neighbor, it was still in the late 80's! We still walked up a hill and all around for 27 minutes.
Going to try to walk 20 minutes a day, along with Body flex and Callanetics.

today's menu:
b-eggs, ham, small bowl oatmeal, coffee
l-chic baked, 1/4 c. kidney beans, few carrots cooked (craving them for some reason)
d- leftovers like lunch, tossed green salad, small canteloupe half, tea.
bedtime: few dill pickles

Will see you all tomarrow. So glad to have found you all.

Men do get insensitive at times, don't they, the big sweet dummies! Can't believe he said that to you D, after how hard you have been working and all your success! Yeah, I imagine you are burning that many calories swimming for an hour. I don't know how you manage it. It just increases my appetite, and makes my back and shoulders sore, even my feet, getting in and out of the pool and then having to shower. Love the water, though!

Hawaii, D--now you're talking! Let's go there for our meet-up! Of course, we'd probably have to save for a year to do it!

Well, I seem to be feeling better this evening--yay! I even did a load of laundry and rode the bike 10 minutes. I think it was all the fresh food from the farmers' market! Fruits and veggies are supposed to be healing! Here's today's menu:

B - spicy sausage, spinach, egg, few blackberries
L - fresh seared tuna, salad w/tomatoes, cucs, mushrooms, avocado, little
plum and few almonds
D - more tuna, sauteed zucchini, tomatoes, peppers, onions, green beans,
small plum
S - gouda, almonds

Hope everyone has a happy Sunday! T.

I see congratulations are in order for all !!! Glad you did not gain C and T- the 8's are very doable for you, and keeping the 6 off SC. Glad you got thru the fat stall E, 4 lbs. is fantastic, if your friend is not serious dont go on a diet with her. Now maybe you have to buy a new scale ??? I have a small digital that I bought on ebay im sure and it works perfectly, I have it set to gym 2002 scale. Curves scale runs high - dr. office scale runs low, can you imagine us all weighing ourselves on each others scale ???? And D - getting into the next set of numbers is fabulous !!!! So proud of you guys.

T-I see your interest peaked at D's mention of Hawaii for getaway, oh its so beautiful there, that cruise I took to all of the islands was so nice but not enough time. I did not make it to Molokai tho. I really think you need to give swimming another chance since you are stronger now, it seems like the perfect exercise for you.

Glad you are making progress with the house SC. The Texas 105 - ughhhhh. Its blazin dorritos here too, 90's but the humidity is awful.

Yup C, you just have to make time for some exercise and maybe you do need a new plan, I think that is true too - at some point you need to switch no matter what plan. Think of the exercise like you have to go to work - you have to exercise. My place is a disaster and I should be going thru piles but I will go exercise instead, if anyone pops in and im embarrassed I just say that you'll have to excuse the mess as im a seller on ebay. Then I think well the smaller i get the more ill toss from the piles and who wants to keep going thru piles

D - you will just have to tell dh you have to stay by me this winter so you can use the pool. S3 has plenty of room in the Calif. king bed that has taken over my living space, I also have 3 blow up mattresses but I would not expect you to sleep on those. Plus we could go to Curves together

I took those diet pills too a long time ago E - now I would be a nut case with my anxiety. Yep, BF saw me balloon up to the twos and im sure he hated it but never said any nasty remarks directly. His ex wife was anorexic tho and it put a big strain on the marriage and then she died about 6 months ago and he was very sad. BF's surgery is Friday.

I disappeared Sat. for most of the day and made it to the fruit - veg. market store in my travels. So much cheaper than the reg. grocery store, I really should go every couple weeks. BF and S3 do not eat fruit, S3 would if I cut it all up and made pretty salads with it, I do that at work for myself. So alot of it goes to the lizards I feed.

Good Morning everyoneI'm on my own today,dh had to work They're behind on the job so he may have to work every other Sun.I had big plans on the bike but it will have to wait Dh's brother is coming to work with him and will be staying with us for awhile.I am NOT looking foward to this.He is nothing like dh,VERY preppy so he's in for a shock as he's had a desk job for the last 20yrsThe main thing I'm worried about is dinner.I don't cook much, so I am going to tell him, feel free to fix anything you want.He is used to cooking for himself and family. I am going to do some inside exercise today and who know what else
YH,thats terrible about bf's ex.It's so hard to understand how people can starve themselves when we love to eat I wish there was a veg.market around here,I could get my friend to take me.Fl is so good for that.
T,I'm so glad you're feeling better. How great that your pants are getting loseI'm still waiting for that!YH you too!No wonder you buy off Ebay when your sizes are changing so fast! You could go broke buying new clothes
D, What are your plans today? Is dh upset about his garden or did most of it survive?I need to buy me some jerky to snack on.Yours sounds wonderful but without a full oven I won't attempt making my own.Dh's friend gave me some summer sausage he got at a meat market that was very good!It had cheese and jalapeno peppers in it.It doesn't take much for a good snack
SC you and C stay so busy!I'm glad you found time to post.We need a new picture.I can't find you in the tree
Miss A,where are you?

Good morning ladies!!

Well SC, it was good to finally hear from you! I was getting worried. Sorry you had to work so much o/t but I guess you will be happy when the paycheck comes in. Yep, staying the same is better than gaining so keep at it! Glad SB is working out better for you.

YH, you made me laugh about offering s3's bed. Okay, maybe we better wait for me to lose 50 or 100 lbs so that he doesn't have to skooch so far over to fit me in. But thank you for being so kind as to not expect me to sleep on an air mattress!

E, sorry to hear your bike ride is cancelled. Too bad, I know how much you look forward to it. How long will dh's brother stay with you? Won't that be close quarters in your RV? I hope you 2 get along!! Do you have a crockpot? You could make a lot of meals that all 3 of you could eat, even if you don't eat together. I imagine that would be something easy to use in a small kitchen and it wouldn't heat up the place at all. Never thought about you not having a full-size oven. I love making a roast to nibble on during the week and you could do a nice pork or beef roast in the crockpot very easily, even chicken, meatloaf, stew, soup, ham, etc.

T, yes Hawaii would be a wonderful get-away. Start saving your pennies!! I probably couldn't go till next May or June anyway, what with having a kid in school and all. Probably not the answer you were expecting, huh?? But hey, maybe we could find a cheap pkg deal and meet there, you never know.

C, can't wait to hear how the pool party went! Did you swim a lot?? How was the food?

Miss A, I hope everything is okay. We miss hearing from you. Don't make us change this thread to Circle of Six. People might mistake us for a porno ring.

Ds2 just called. He is at the airport in Washington, D.C. He'll call me when they land in Omaha, Nebraska later this afternoon. He said he's had such a great time. Ds1 should be home sometime today also. He called yesterday, not having such a great time. Something is wrong with our boat and after putting in $100 of gas, it's not running right. I hope he got it fixed, otherwise we will never hear the end of it.

Yesterday's menu:

B-coffee, green tea
L-leftover kielbasa, fried coleslaw, hardboiled egg, lettuce, green tea
D-taco salad (no shell), pork rinds, cup beef broth
S-pepperoni, mozzarella, hardboiled egg, 6 baby dill pickles

Water-100 oz
Exercise-None

Other than going into town to drop off Ds2's car at the school (so we won't have to go back later tonight to pick him up), we're staying home. Dh will finish making my beef jerkey this afternoon. I bought several boneless chicken breasts and boneless pork loins to cook up today. If kids are here to eat, we will have plenty. If not, then we will have some nice leftovers for lunches/suppers this week.

Dh is calling that breakfast is ready, so off I go.

Happy Sunday! D

What a day!

I said to dh this morning that I was bored and wished we had something to do today. Then the phone rang....

It was ds1 calling to say his truck broke down on the way home from camping, about 2 hours away, and he needed a tow. Since he was towing our boat, we needed 2 vehicles to rescue him.

We left here at 10 am. I drove dh's blazer and towed the boat home while dh drove our pickup truck and towed ds1 in his monster bigfoot truck home. Nice way to spend the day! We stopped halfway home to eat lunch at a hamburger diner (was the only place for miles around). Such a limited menu and very pricey. I got the hamburger special, took one bite of the cole slaw and did not like the taste at all so that went to dh. My french fries went to ds1. I took the bun off the hamburger and was so disappointed to see such a small patty. I was starving. So I ended up eating the burger and the bottom half of the bun. I figure it probably was around 10-15 carbs, so I'll just be careful the rest of the day and try not to go over 30 carbs total. Then I remembered I had a protein bar in my pocketbook in the truck, so I ate that on the way home since I was still hungry. We got home around 5 pm and after we got the truck and boat unloaded, we had to turn around and drop off ds2's car at the school in Hyannis as he is on his way home from the airport (6 hours away) and that way, we won't have to go back out later to pick him up. Whew. I am tired!!

I thought my sugars would skyrocket with the hamburger bun but surprisingly, they were very low when I got home. That's the first white bread I've had since the beginning of the year!

The temp on the bank clock in Hyannis read 107 degrees!! It's HOT today!!

So what's everyone else doing? I was so disappointed to come home and find my post still the last one.

Hope you're all having a great wkd! D

Well, not what you wanted for a Sunday, huh! At least you got to see ds1, D, if under less than perfect circumstances. Vehicles are such a pain! You did so great, D, to only eat the hamburger and half the bun. That's just what the dietitian told me to do, because the protein would balance the carbs. And good planning to keep an emergency protein bar in your purse! I have noticed that on days where I didn't eat much my sugar was not up even if I had eaten more carbs. I have also noticed that fat makes my sugar go up, although I thought it was not supposed to. I bet your weight loss has made a difference too. I read the other day that weight loss can actually resolve diabetes. That's what I'm hoping for! For sure, we know it helps! When do you get to see ds2?

Well, I don't know if Hawaii is the best place for us to get together, but it's fun to dream!

E, sounds like your Sunday was not what you hoped it would be, either! No bike trip today, so what did you end up doing? When does dh's brother arrive? I guess I'd be nervous about someone living in my RV, too. How long will he need to be there? I guess your dh will be happy to see his brother though? Do they get along well? Who knows, if he like to cook, maybe he'll cook some dinners for all of you!

Y, hope your Sunday was more fun than D's and E's and mine! Gosh, bf's surgery is coming up soon--do you feel more ready for it? How long will he be in hospital? So maybe it's a good thing his folks are coming down; they will be able to keep him company part of the time. That is so sad what happened to his ex; that must have been horrible to live with. I love your idea to treat exercise like it's a job you have to go to! It is that important. Glad you got to the fruit and vegetable market--just makes you want to eat healthy! Lucky lizards!

SC, you've been a busy girl lately. Glad you feel good on SB. Are you getting your old house ready to sell or rent? Congrats for walking in the heat! That's awesome! That's what I used to do when we lived in the desert. A friend and I would walk downtown and back at night. It was still hotter than blazes, and I'd never have done it by myself, but getting someone else to suffer with you helps! KUTGW!

C, hope you had a blast at the euchre club bash!

MsA, hope to hear how things are going for you!

I'm doing better, but still not well enough yet to go out and do anything of any consequence; but then again, I wasn't doing much when I wasn't sick! I did go to lunch at the Greek place with dh. Brought home some lemon garlic chicken soup to have this week--very comforting. We watched the final day of the Tour de France. Thank goodness that's over! Takes too many hours a day to watch, although I do love the scenery. Wish I could go there. Hey, how about Paris as a meeting place! French food, anyone?

B - egg, spinach, sausage, blackberries
L - Greek lemon chicken soup, moussaka (no potatoes)
D - Halibut, hubbard squash, eggplant, asparagus
S - small plum, goat cheese, almonds

Hope you all have a good beginning to the week! T.

T- My boss lost all the weight and and he is completely off all the diabetes meds. Now he took the gastric bypass route so dont know if that matters but would not think so. You spent all the hrs. watching bicycles in France ? That would bore me to death ! HA ! The lemon soup sure sounds tasty and glad you are doing better-thats just too long.

E-what did you end up doing Sunday ? Now I gather dh's brother will be going to work with him so he is not in your face ? I think the preppiness will leave after a stay, how long is he with you for ? Where will he sleep, on the couch ?
Ughhhh. You have my sympathy.

D-Your Sunday sounded like a plot for a twilite zone show ! Towing boats and monster trucks, crappy coleslaw and a mini burger on 1/2 bun in nowhere Nebraska Good thing you had the bar, you need to start taking a ditty bag with you in your travels. The 107, is that dry heat or humid ? Thats always a topic here, is 90's with humidity or 100's dry heat worse.

My Sunday was pretty quiet. I did grocery shopping in the am and made a nice beef roast med. rare for dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy, I had the famous green beans. ughhh, I like them but eat them alot. Just easy to open a can and microwave for myself. I got in the pool, the water is now 94 degrees, rain usually cools it off nicely. I think I broke my lap record as I did 40. Then the tube with BF. I can tell im stronger now as I can carry all the grocery bags in much easier than lets say 3 months ago. I get irritated when the guys just see me lugging all this stuff but then I say to myself its exercise, may burn 50 cal. and dont yell for help like before. Oh yeah, I have to lug the soda in right away as 3 twelve pks exploded in my back seat this week from the heat, pepsi all over the car

Hope you had a great time with your gal pals C ! Hello Miss A if you are still around and SC.

Sun.
am-nothing
lunch-slimfast with scoop of husk, 3 shrimp
dinner-beef roast and gr. beans
snacks-pretzels, fruiti

Good morning gals.

Got both the boys out the door at 6:15 am. My house looks like a tornado went thru it because they were both running late for work this morning. Ds1 was tearing the house apart looking for his work keys and ds2 was hurriedly packing up for the week, going thru his suitcase from Washington, D.C. for clean socks and underwear to take back to the ranch and tossing out dirty clothes that needed to be washed. Poor kid didn't get home till after 11:30 last night, so he ended up spending the night here rather than making the 30 min drive out to the ranch at that hour. Ds1 forgot his week's worth of dirty clothes in his work truck (back at work 2 hours away!) so he had to scrounge around for a week's worth of clothes to take back with him. Thankfully I had overbought a lot of work shirts when KMart had them on sale for $5-$7 each because he works with grease, oil and lots of dirt and he definitely didn't want to wear good clothes this week. OTOH, ds2 wore his brand new Timberline workboots to the ranch today. He got them free on his D.C. trip from one of the sponsors. They are dark brown leather $80 boots and looked more like dress shoes. Ds1 and I told him to save them for nice occasions and just wear his regular workboots instead, but he refused. Ds2 could care less about keeping nice things looking nice. These boys are so opposite -- you'd think they were raised by different mothers!!

Friend called last night and we are going to Curves this morning. I really don't want to go. Which means that I should go. So I will. There -- see how I talked myself into it??

Yesterday's menu:

B-2 eggs, 4 sl bacon
L-hamburg patty, 1/2 bun, SB protein bar
S-4 baby dill pickles, pepperoni
D-1 pc chicken, 1 pc pork, cauliflower casserole, salad
S-pumpkin seeds

Water-not nearly enough, probably only around 50 oz
Exercise-does sitting on my butt in a vehicle for 7 or 8 hrs count??

YH, we don't have as much humidity as Florida does, but even with half your humidity, 107 is....HOT. It's not a dry heat here like Arizona. I am definitely going to the pool tonight!! School starts here Aug 19th so the pool will close then, since they lose all their business with the kids and of course, all their teen lifeguards go back to school too. I want to get as much swimming in before then! FitDay says 15 min of carrying groceries and putting them away burns 31 calories.

Dh and I are going to take ds1 and ds2 on a school clothes shopping trip in Grand Island, which is about 4 hours from us. They have all the regular stores like Wal-Mart, KMart, Target, etc., plus a huge mall to shop in and we're tired of the stores around here. We'll get a hotel room and spend the night so we don't have to make that 4 hour drive home the same day. We'll hit Red Lobster while we're there, one of our favorites and I can definitely stay on plan in that place, yum! Now we just need to coordinate when both boys will be off work before their schools start. Ds1 goes back to college with classes starting Aug 25th and ds2's school starts Aug 19th. Maybe we can go Aug 15th IF I can talk ds1 into taking that Friday off from work. I think he planned to work right up till when he goes back to college and that's the week AFTER ds2 starts school so it would be too late for us to go after the 15th.

I talked to my mother yesterday. She said she got the newspaper issue with my picture on the front page. Remember that bad one I was telling you about with my fat arms?? Anyway, she went on and on about how GOOD I looked in it. I told her I thought it was a terrible pic and she said no, she thought I looked really good and the way I had talked, she was expecting to see a bad pic and was surprised that it was so nice. Hmmm. My mother is not one to give false compliments, she's more like the one that gives truthful (and most times...unasked for) criticisms. So I guess the picture is not as bad as I thought, go figure. It was nice to be able to tell her that I've lost several lbs since that picture was taken almost a month ago. Every week she asks how much I have lost and I know she is dying to see the end result. Kinda like us waiting on YH's updated picture.

Okay ladies, you don't like Rio Caliente, you don't like Hawaii, how about meeting in downtown Detroit for a beer?? Just teasing!! But pls, toss some ideas out there if you are even interested in meeting up at some point. If it involves airfare/hotel/condo fees of any kind, I'm going to need a good 6-12 months to save up and plan for it so I'm not in if it's a last-minute deal.

Well geez, here I am yakking away and you're probably thinking -- enough already!! Hello to all of you -- YH, C, T, E, SC and Miss A (wherever you are). Hope you all had a great wkd!! D

Good morning all!!
Busy busy weekend but at least it was happy stuff
Had a great time w/the Euchre gal's. Veggie tray & great green salad of some sort. Pulled the ham & cheese off the pizza. As usual enough activity that if you just act normal no one notices. When she was serving pie & ice cream I said I'm still stuffed from the pizza can I have mine later & she said sure just serve yourself. Course I never did. The pool time was great I was such a happy camper!! Forgot my pool shoes though so the bottom of my feet were tender Sun morning.
Then Sun I headed to grocery store w/ds's list & then we headed up to his apt. Took him to see Dark Knight--new Batman movie. I wanted to see Wal E but the testosterone vote won out LOL Do you find that D since you are surrounded by all those males??

Put a roast in the crock over nite to make pulled beef for the week. Have a potato salad for dh. Am going to bake some chicken next & then I am set for the week. Need to get out & buy some fruits & veggies, even though I have canned & froz veg. Have to stay at home this morning waiting for a UPS delivery for dh so I can't make a run before work this a.m. And I have on shorts & a tee shirt & bra....don't want my house # listed on the top 10 houses list along with D's

So nice to hear about things like lugging the groceries YH!! Bet you can bend over & tie your shoes easily too I was struggling w/the strap on my sandals yesterday & was thinking how stupid is this

I'm like 90% sure I can quit the BP med's if I can get this weight off. I'm sure the same would be true for a lot of diabetics. D did you have sugar problems before the weight gain?

Visiting family...ha!! That's always a story in itself LOL But he will be gone all day Harley--not like you'd be stuck entertaining him in the RV all day. Hey is he coming w/a car?? Maybe you will have his vehicle & can drive new friend around to some place aside from Chinese restaurant LOL

Glad you're feeling a bit better T! At least you're laying around in size 12 jeans I love the Lemon Chicken Rice soup!! Have wondered how it would taste w/o the rice...I'm sure it's the lemon flavor I like so much.

Well need to get my chicken dish in the oven. Have to get it cooked before it gets too hot.

Good Morning everyone,I'm late this morning but had to take care of some business.I did do my walk early.I didn't do it yesterday and should have.I was just lazy.I was totally bored and just stayed on computer and read all day.I really hate week end tv.D,what a busy day you had yesterday I bet your day went fast.Your shopping trip sounds like funI love staying in motelsI guess I'm weird.I am going to Red Lobster for lunch today.I should have told you sooner so you could give me some tips.I know I am probably going to have the broiled flounder and ONE biscuit.I have a great cal/carb/fat book and it lists them as 17 carbs. Wow,you have done great on not eating bread!I thought I had done good for not eating any for 1 month! I really want us to get together and I'm pretty flexible.I don't have a passport but I guess I could get one.I probably need one anyway.Start saving as we will go somewhereIt sounds like maybe your mother is missing you I'm glad she was so complimentary as you have worked so hard for this.It doesn't matter how old we are, criticism from our parents is the worst Any news on Vonn?I keep him in my prayers
YH,that was wild about the soda's! I didn't know they would do that in heat only in the freezer. The cans are so thin now it doesn't take much. You are doing so good in the pool! You're just about ready for the swim teamAt least you can swim year round.
T,maybe you will start feeling better this week.I'm glad you were able to get out yesterday. That helps alot.I'm with YH,watching the bike ride would bore me,just like golf or even Nascar.Watching those cars go round and round is not for me.Good thing everybody is different
C,were waiting to hear about your week end.Hope you had fun at the pool
Now,for the bil.He is going to work with dh,and I don't know how long he will be with us.He will be sleeping on the couch. It's kinda funny because he's one of those people that has to have like 600 thread count sheets and all the best stuff. He is in for a surprise He is planning on buying a camper but the campgrounds are so full of pipeliners he may not have a spot.He will be here Sat.
My friend just called and cancelled, doesn't feel good. She did that the other day too.You see what I mean about not being dependable Oh well, I"ll stay home and clean

Jumping back on quick here (as if I didn't ramble on enough already!).

C, I am SO proud of you for picking the toppings off the pizza!! I KNOW how much of a challenge that was!! And such a great excuse as to why you didn't want the dessert! Don't you feel good now -- knowing that you had such a fun time AND stayed on plan with your eating??!!

E, I don't know if I'm too late but I found this -- gives the RL menu and their calorie counts. Looked good to review ahead of time so you don't make any rash bad choices. Click here: CalorieKing - Calorie Counter - Calories in Red Lobster My friend that I go to Curves with used to cancel on me when she got a better offer from someone else (which for her, anything was better than going to exercise! ) so I finally told her straight up, if you cancel on me one more time at the last minute, I'm not making plans with you anymore. It worked! I hate when my plans change at the last minute but dh is trying to get me to calm down and just go with the flow. He's much more laid back than me!!!

Ha, I think that is weird. First I mention Red Lobster on the very exact day you were planning to go and then we both looked up the counts from the same exact place!! Hmmm. Must be another Twilight Zone that YH was talking about!!!

Ok, I'm off to meet my friend to go to Curves. E, hope maybe your friend is feeling well enough you can at least go out to eat locally!!

Thats nice that your mom was decent to you D. My mom was brutal if I gained weight - like 140 would be humongous - but im glad we made amends before she died. She even wrote me a letter once officially dis-owning me. Well you sure will surprise them when that visit comes !!!

Now E, I got a stupid question I guess - why dont you just get a car ? I would be nuts. I hope you had fun today with your friend - all I could think about was the rolls at Red Lobster. I could never figure those feasts out, looked reasonable on the commercials always but ive always had a high tab at Red Lobster

Glad you had a good time C - you really did well with the gals. I took grandson to see Wall E, it was good. Just back from blockbuster and I got " Bernard and Doris" and " The Other Boleyn girl" " then I ended up getting the pass thing for 30 bucks a month. It sounded like a good deal and BF im sure will be watching alot of movies and S3 watches many and I know we spend at least that much a month.

Today is BF's last day at work even tho his surgery is not till Fri. More time for him to be nervous-not sure why he did this-Wed. pm is the hospital appts. so ill go with him to that ( diet, etc).

Not exercising today - just beat.

Well I was going to say that you should join us at Red Lobster, YH, but you live near the ocean, so I'm sure you have better seafood restaurants than we in the Midwest do!!! I think maybe WE should come to YOU for lunch!! Good deal about the movie rental pass. I'm sure with bf being home recuperating, you'll put it to good use! I wonder why he would take off this week when he's not going in for surgery till Friday?? I'd want to keep myself busy beforehand so I wouldn't worry so much.
Elaine, I hope you survived another day of your friend's driving!Did you get to go out for lunch? Yes, I wonder too why you don't buy a car for yourself, even if it's an old clunker to get around and then sell it when you move back home.

Went to Curves this morning and bopped around as much as I could but I'm tired today. I went to bed at 1 am and was up at 5:30 am. I'm thinking about taking a nap in a few minutes.

Vonn is not doing so well. They have him on Thymoglobulin treatments. SC, you probably know what this is all about. Something to do with jump-starting things so he doesn't have to have a bone marrow transplant. Apparently he ran a high fever last night -- side affect of the treatment so they're giving him a break from it today and will start back up again with a 12-hour treatment tomorrow morning. Looks like he's going to be in that hospital for a very long time, poor little guy.

Yes, I found some new smileys. Tolerate please me till I get it out of my system. I'm such a nerd at times.

My friend is going to drive me CRAZY! When she said we weren't going out to eat I made me some scrambled eggs and then whenI got to her place, the first thing she says is "are you hungry"? I said no I just ate and she said I wanted to go to Red Lobster! We went and I did good.I had the broiled flounder, broccoli, and salad.I did have 1 biscuit. She tried to get me to split a dessert with her but I told her no,I'm trying to do good. She is trying her best to get off this diet, but it ain't happening It would take pages to tell you all the other stuff she did,but lets just say she's nuts! YH I have a car in Ga. at my dd1's house but I can't see driving it up here.I may have too if this keeps up.My bil said I could use his truck when he gets here but I hate to use other people's stuff. With my luck someone would hit me. I guess bf just wants to have some time off to chill out before his surgery. It probably will make him have more time to stress though
Speaking of stress,my dh backed into someone at work yesterday. The guy had a brand new truck We are going to pay for it out of pocket instead of turning it into ins.and it will probably be a bundle.I think it was just the tailgate but I'm sure they're not cheap.I hope thats all it is

I went outside to hang laundry and just noticed that the hail did some pretty good damage to our 3 apple trees and what the hail didn't bruise or knock off the tree, the birds and bugs were busy getting to. So I filled my laundry basket 1/4 full of apples. They are small but good for baking pies and cobblers or crisps. We had 3 different kinds of apples but the golden delicious, which are my fav, seem to be the birds' fav too so I only got ONE of those!! Tons of green apples and a few red/green ones. The trees are filled with so much more but my arms are sore from reaching and a lot of them are bruised so it takes too long to pick thru to find the good ones. Maybe dh will go pick more later for me.

Sorry to hear about your dh's accident, E. Hope it won't cost much to repair! At least it wasn't with your hairdresser!!

Hi, y'all,

Sunday, we finished the rooms in our old house we are getting it ready to sell. Our son and friends had been sort of renting it, but we need to get rid of it as two housepayments are the pits. Only the garage left to clear and we are phoning a junk man to haul the trash away, Salvation Army to get the rest.
The new carpet is in place upstairs, looks great.

Today:
b-two eggs, turkey bacon, hood lc milk, small 1/8th canteloupe
L- sf, lf deli ham and turkey on tossed green salad with veggies, lc dressing, sf jello, few bing cherries
D- lc tortilla w/ smear of low fat beans, 2% cheese, salsa, tossed green salad with veggies alvocado slices, sugar free popsicle.
bedtime: hood lc milk

Dh just had to have "nachos" tonight, with salad, so I modified mine to be a better match for my new plan.

E, sorry to hear about dh's accident. Sorry you didn't get to go to Red Lobster today.

C, what self control to eat just the toppings off the top of the pizza. Way to go.

T, glad you are feeling better.

D, sorry to hear about little Vonn. I hope the Thymoglobulin treatments "jump start" the situation and he begins to feel better.

Yh, with all the stuff going on in your life, you deserve a rest day today.

Miss A, hope you are doing well.

Well, ya'll, wish me well. From tomarrow, Tues untill Saturday, I will be out of town and off the computer.
I am going with DH to take his parents back home to Southwest Arakansas for probably what could be the last time for my MIL to see family. My FIL's only sis is in a NH with Alzheimers, so he really needs to see her again even though she might not reconize him. We are going to try to see some historical sites in the area just DH and I. He used to love to go there when he was growing up.
I haven't the faintest what the meals will be. At the first relatives, DH & I will buy and cook the meals. Hopefully, the 2nd one, will have something on plan. I am taking some SB bars to help me out and the SB drink mix (like crystal lite) but with protein and some fiber to help with hunger.

I will check in on Saturday when I get back or if I get back late on Friday.

Have a great week, all.
