Will reply tomorrow but just wanted to post my menu real quick...
B: small serving 5 flavor chocolate custard L: smoothie, cod liver oil D: whole fillet of sablefish, pasture butter and garlic, multi-green kombucha S: larger serving of 5 flavor chocolate custard, 5 celery sticks and almond butter Exercise was 1/2 hour of Tae Bo. Honestly, I strongly dislike doing most of the Callanetics Evolution, but I do it because the results are so amazing. I think I'll be doing just 3-4 days a week though instead of shooting for 5 like I've been trying to do. Almost to the weekend!! ![]() |

Hello Ladies! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! I had to work today. I did have a good time in downtown Pleasanton yesterday.
Just an update that TOM showed up yesterday only 6 days late. He has been showing up about 3 days late so this time he took a bit longer. It could be because my WOE is messed up and I have not consistently been taking my MET. Went to see Wanted last weekend. It was a pretty good movie. Very interesting. I have been eating semi on plan. Still no weight gain or loss for me.

It was pretty quiet in here this weekend. Where did everyone go?
We went to the Mystery Spot in Santa Cruz on Saturday. That was a very interesting experience. I'd like to do it again without the kids. I don't think they enjoyed it much. I'm mostly on plan, too. DH and I had a completely off-plan day on Friday, and getting back on track has been challenging. The desire for carby food is strong. I don't know how well I really did yesterday because at church yesterday I hollowed out a bagel half and filled it with cream cheese. Much better than if I had eaten the whole bagel, but I don't have any idea what the carb count is on a bagel shell. The rest of the day was LC, though. Today, so far so good. Coffee and scrambled eggs with leftover cream sauce over them for breakfast. Liz - If TOM has been consistently showing up 3 days late, then maybe your cycle is 3 days longer than you think it should be. That would make it only another 3 days late this month. (I hope that make sense. I seems a little jumbled to me. )Angela - Where are you? We haven't seen you in several days.

I am officially back on plan. It was a struggle, but I've been really good for about 3 days now and the pull of carbs has lessened a good bit.
I was up 4 lbs on Sunday. I wouldn't think 1 carb day would do that, but I'm back down 2 of that today. We made an interesting discovery the other day. My DD likes pork rinds. DH likes them and I tolerate them for certain recipes, but I was just really suprised that she would enjoys them so much. They just don't strike me as a "kid food" if you know what I mean. She also likes jerky. At the Mystery Spot, she preferred it to the fruit gummy snacks Dh bought for her and DS. I don't think I'll complain about that, though.I'm starting to get concerned. Where did everyone go? |

Hi ladies...
...still here...just having computer issues and have been really busy. I'm going to write a couple of sentences and then send reply and then edit and add more to it because my computer keeps shutting off...grrr... I've mostly been on plan with a few exceptions. I have a new plan: I have the goal now to be at a size 6 by the end of the year instead of by October (my birthday). I'm getting too obsessive and controlling about it otherwise and can't seem to appreciate how I look now because of it. I like how I look now but would prefer to be a size 6. But extending the goal and having carby food here and there and not working out as intensely will help me so I'm not so obsessed as well as take away my fear of maintenance as this is how I intend to be once I get there as well. I am going to try to make it in everyday to at least record food and exercise so that I can keep track of the carby days so that it doesn't get out of hand. Will try to reply to y'all in the next couple of days...just wanted to let you know that I'm still alive:-)....boy toy and I are back together again...so that has been taking A LOT of my time...which I don't mind at all...![]() Talk to you soon! Hello, ladies. I've been a bit MIA the last few days, too. Sorry about that. I've been dealing with drama at work that has left me feeling emotionally wiped out. I had a confrontation with one of my employees that resulted in her quitting suddenly and writing a very nasty letter to upper management detailing all the ways I'm a horrible manager and how I created a "hostile work environment" for her.
![]() All because I asked her to spend less time IMing and writing personal emails when we have loads of work to do.I HATE, HATE, HATE having to confront people about their bad behavior, and then to have her blame it on me and "inform" managers what a terrible person I am because of it is just ![]() . *Sigh*I'll try to post more later when I have more time. Happy Friday! |

Hey Ladies...just letting you know I am here. I am so exhausted from my job. I do have off the next 3 days so I am excited about that.
Angela...I cant wait to hear what is up with you and boy toy! Angel, sorry about th e job situation. I have managed people for my entire career (since I was 18 years old) and it always has to be someone trying to take the heat off their own weaknessess and put them on someone else to make them feel better. You did nothing wrong, you were doing your job and it sounds like you were doing it well. I know this is easier said than done but dont take her complaint too seriously. I know I dont know the whole story but hopefully you arent being punished for her ridiculous complaint. I am still not on track. I still have not gained any weight and that is just a miracle. I dont feel good though so I really need to get back on track. I just dont really feel like eating LC right now, if that makes any sense. Have a great day! ETA: I have been exercising, just not consistently. |

Liz ~ I'm so glad you have a few days off! It's great that you will have a chance to relax some.
There is more to the story than I posted, but I'm tired of stressing about it and don't really want to post all the details here. The biggest problem, I think, was that I confronted her about her attitude problem whenever she was asked not to do the above mentioned things. Blame shifting. It was always somehow my fault. I'm sure you've dealt with that kind of thing before. I don't think it will be taken seriously. I've been with the company for 2.5 years and she's was there 8 months, or so. They know me better than they know her. Like I said, I'm trying not to talk about it any more. ![]() ![]() Angela ~ Boy Toy is back in the picture, huh? How did that happen? Spill the beans, girly! |

Hi y'all...can't sleep so thought I'd finally reply to y'all...sorry it took so long...have been
reading your posts everyday though... Angel - that music video/song was intense, wow...love the music...thanks for posting...it's great to get an idea of what you want to do...it's really beautiful ![]() Have you had much of a chance to practice lately? How's it coming along with getting a band together? Sorry to hear that's happening with your job right now. Some people just have no ability to take responsibility for their own actions - at least she's leaving - and I'm sure other employees will vouch for you as well.Liz - haven't tried any new recipes yet...guess I was just feeling creative that one week . Don't worry about being on track - maybe these 3 days off will help you find the structure you may need to do that though - sometimes that's all it takes - at least for me anyway - it's a bit ungrounding to be so busy - which makes it difficult to maintain good habits. How's it going with the dental hygiene school research? So no exercise today...was too tired...not getting a whole lot of sleep this week ...and I also talked to him on the phone until almost 2am tonight (he goes to Orange County every other weekend to train with his Tai Qi instructor)...now I can't sleep...y'all know how that is in the beginning...which it kind of is......we got back together last Sunday...we've been talking by phone since the middle of June...I've also been writing emails...he came over to a friend's house last Sunday when I texted him after having more than my usual one glass of wine (it doesn't take much)...he brought ice cream for everyone and then we talked late into the night about everything that I was hurt about that he did when we were dating/why I couldn't go back to him...he listened, took responsibility, sincerely apologized for his actions,... everything I wanted him to do...he said that he felt that we had a connection that only comes along once or twice in a person's life...I know, total line, right? I would think that except that there's a whole lot more to it...he's been incredibly kind, he decided a couple of months ago to sincerely follow a spiritual path and work on becoming a better person...so we'll see...so far, so good ![]() thanks for asking, btw... So food today... B: smoothie/cod liver oil L: enchilada bowl from WF in Campbell: small amount of cilantro/pesto rice with carne asada, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, and lettuce; kombucha S: strawberry milkshake - cream, frozen strawberries, vanilla, 2 egg yolks, xylitol Still not tired...will probably work out in a little bit before I head to my office...hope y'all have a great Sunday!! Hi Ladies,
Today is the day....I start to begin my journey once again. My history shows me that once I hit 160lbs I tend to give up, so on this journey I plan to not weigh weekly. I am right about 165ish right now, so I have not done a lot of damage as I have in the past. I seem to do well and become very focused for about 6 months and then I give up or am not consistent for the next 6 months. My goal is to be at 130-135lbs. That is about 30-35lbs that I need to lose. I plan to exercise as much as possible which will probably be a min of 3x per week. I dont think I will re-induct because I love my fruit too much but I would love to cut out diet soda all together. This may be hard for me since I have a ton in my house. BF is interested in losing 40lbs and wants to exercise and do LC so I have some support at home which is good. So here goes again and I plan to come here as much as I can to post my menu and exercise. It seems to help me out just to show up here and post that info. Happy Monday! and here I go again.... |

Welcome Back, Liz! You can do this.
Where did you get the artichoke chicken recipe? Is it from here? I'm so glad your BF is in it with you. It makes things easier when you aren't trying to go it alone. We have a Wii, but no Wii Fit. I'd be interested to try one out, though. Angela, We've been practicing a couple of times a week. Things have been busy and we don't get as much rehearsal time as we'd like, but we are gotting there. We have a couple of people interested in getting together with us. So we might have a bass player and a drummer. We are still working on it. One of the biggest challenges at this point is finding a place to practice. I don't think our neighbors would appreciate it if we started rehearsing in the garage, you know? I'll be singing at my grandparent's church next Sunday. It's my first solo in many years. I feel pretty confident, and I know the song, it's just still kind of nerve wracking to perform for family. It's harder than singing for strangers. Their opinions mean more. Wish me luck! |

I'm not on any suppliments currently. I should be on a multivitamin, but I never feel any different when I take them, so I don't feel much motivation to do it. The only time I've made a strong effort to do so was when I was pregnant.
I've looked at BMR, but haven't paid that much attention to it. At this point, I'm trying to eat to hunger and learn to eat Lc without thinking about it too much. I want to do this for life, so I want to be relaxed about it. If I was stuck or gaining, I'd start paying more attention to things like that. It seems to me that those who really need to eat to BMR are those who have messed up their metabolisms and need to convince their bodies that they are not going to starve. Are you thinking about incorporating that principal? B: atkins bar, tea L: taco salad D: quesadilla on Lc tortilla, few bites cesaer salad S: s/f pudding |

Hi Angel,
I didnt know much about BMR and I just thought I saw you post in that thread and wanted to get your take on it. I am not that regimented to track my info that obsessivley. I like your idea of being relaxed about this WOE, I will definetley take that advice when working on changing my mindset. Right now I am "in it to win it" but you know I get sloppy after a while. I am a little irritated today. Some stuff going on at work. Funny how when things go smooth you love your job and where there is a bump you hit how everything can go so wrong. I am sure this will pass but everytime I make progress, something comes in my way to set me back a bit further.I am doing well on plan. Yay! Menu: B: atkins bar L: leftover artichoke chicken D: taco meat w/sourcream S: salami and cheese |

I'm there with you about work. I had a bad day, again, and am having a really hard time getting out of the funk that started last week with the drama I mentioned earlier. Things are really tense with one particular client and there is extra scrutiny on everyone involved with them. It's problem after problem after problem right now, and I'm getting tired of them looking for reasons to be upset with us. It seems that they are taking special effort to find mistakes and then assuming that this one little mistake means that everything else must be mishandled as well.
I came home from work today saying to DH, "That's it. I'm done. I'm tired of feeling like I am constantly failing." I'm sure this too will pass, it is just really weighing on me right now. ![]() Enough ranting about work. I'm so glad to hear that you are on plan and doing well. Keep up the good work! I don't remember posting in a BMR thread, but that doesn't mean I didn't. Maybe I'll check it out and see. Perhaps I said something smart. ![]() |
