you forgot the word sexy. But I will forgive you.
Today I was super good. The hubby called and asked if I wanted a milkshake and I said NO!! And I didn't take a drink of his when he brougt it back. Stayed on plan all day and resisted temptation. It's been a great day. How did everyone else do?? |

I almost said we were bringing sexy back
Ok, next thread is a sexy thread. LOLWTG on saying no to a milkshake! It's so hard to say no to temptation but doesn't it feel good afterwards? Yesterday I made a brown sugar pound cake with caramel glaze b/c my inlaws are here. I was looking at it like Homer Simpson looks at beer, but I didn't eat it. Yay! I was pretty good on other fronts, too. Made a lasagna and then made me one without noodles. The only thing is I didn't eat enough yesterday!

I am so proud of you for resisting the cake. I'm good with resisting Italian food but cake... ummm cake. Here is to us making it today as well. I am drinking my coffee but I still haven't eaten breakfast. I am still not functioning this early, the scary part is my 2 year old daughter is full of energy. She could tear the house down in 5 minutes flat and I am way too tired to stop her right now. As for not eating enough... for breakfast grab some of the left over pasta. Mmmm that sounds yummy. Can you tell I am hungry but no energy to make food right now. I normally don't wake up until glass number 2.

Hi Girls. I am so proud of myself. I really think this is it for me. I am one of those gals that keep putting off the diet til next week but something is different this time.
In the other thread I didn't get to introduce myself very well so here goes... I am 26 years old, I have a 6 year old and a 1 year old and I've been married for seven years now with my wonderful husband. I call Arizona home but travel around alot with his job. Right now were in Pennsylvania and we will probably be here til the end of the year. I don't work but have my hands full with the kids and school (I am working on my BS online which is pretty challenging). As far as the diet goes...I would love to shed 50 lbs. by Christmas and actually think its possible if I keep up my enthusiasm...thats where you guys come in ![]() |

Enthusiasm is my middle name. I have had 3 glasses of coffee today. Call me miss pep. So as for being held accountable.... I did not run today or do my yoga. But I have a very good reason. I was playing on the computer for 5 hours. Then I cleaned out both mine and my husbands dressers of all of our old fat clothes. I'm still decideing if I am going to make the effort to exercize... but its not looking good. Tons of energy... don't really want to use it. LOL

HI ladies!
Welcome Mary! Ana: Way to go We'll give you the enthusiam you need when you need it!Jenniell: I didn't exercise today either, but I have no excuse other than I'm just bone tired. I've been doing the Couch to 5K running program and I'm on week 6. I need to step it up! I had WAAYYY too much coffee, though! BTW: I've been meaning to tell you for weeks that I love your siggy. It totally speaks to me. What do you ladies do for breakfast? I seriously need new ideas. I am really rushed so most mornings I don't make eggs. I had been doing fawn's shake, but I cut it to cut back down on carbs. Sometimes I have an egg creme....what do you all do? |

Something I used to make, and will most likely make again are omelet muffins. Eggs, onion, green pepper, dash of cream..mix it up. Crumble a piece of cooked bacon on the bottom of each muffin cup and pour egg mixture into muffin pan. Top with shredded cheese and bake. I'm pretty sure I cooked it at 350 for 20 to 30 minutes. Just keep checking for it to turn brown on the edges. I would make this on Sunday and keep in baggies so I could hit one or two up and eat it on the way to work. **I will try to combine all my posts in to 1 from now on. I didn't mean to hog the thread*** ![]()

I normally have leftovers from the night before. We had chicken kabobs tonight for dinner. I just made an extra piece for in the morning and if I don't have time to eat it here I will take it into work and eat it at my desk. I normally don't eat normal breakfast food except on my days off. Then it is bacon and eggs.

I will introduce myself too. I just turned 40 married 19 years this month. Three great kids (even if they are all teenagers) 17, 15, and 14. I never really lost the weight that I gained with them. In high school I was a three sport athlete and in great shape but that was 22 years ago. I would love to just feel more comfortable with myself and be able to do things again like hiking and skiing. Time to get off the lose alittle gain alittle cycle. Hubby gained weight with me and he is trying to lose too but he drives truck so we arent there to support each other all week. Great to have alittle extra support and be supportive.

Hey everyone,
I would really love to join your group. I really could use the encouragement. I have not eaten anything today so far. I have graves disease so sometimes I have to be up for a while before my stomach can even handle any food. I plan on eating some eggs and turkey bacon. Yesterday was my first day back on plan. I didn't eat very much. I had eggs and turkey bacon for brunch and for supper I had thinly sliced chuck roast with green peppers, mushrooms and onions, Broccoli with butter and parmesan cheese, cole slaw, and deviled eggs. I really should add another meal in there somewhere. I will add a salad somewhere in today. I didn't get all my water in yesterday either. I know water is very important during induction to flush out toxins and by products. Water is the hardest thing for me to do. I have always struggled with that. It gives me heartburn if I drink too much of it. I think maybe I will buy some lemons today to add to that water. Do you have any other ideas for getting water down?

Hi Everyone. I also have trouble getting all the water down and I'm addicted to iced coffees and diet coke...which I'm not ready to give up yet (one thing at a time please). I find that when I have bottled water ready in go in the fridge I tend to grab more of them throughout the day but I feel guilty about filling up the landfills with them...all those commericals finally got to me.
Here is where it gets hard...I'm about to take the kids to McDonalds so they can run amuck for a while. I hate McDonalds salads so I'm just gonna sit there with my bottled water sucking in the french fry aroma ![]() |

I am having a down day today and not feeling good about myself. I feel ugly and fat.
Got to get rid of this fat on me. It seems that everything I do gets sabotaged and I make a fool of myself with my eating. I have to find something that works for me. Right now I just don't know what it is. |

I'm sorry you are having such a bad day Mary. I wish I could make you feel better some how. Where are you in your plan? Are you in induction, Owl etc... How is everything getting sabotaged? I completely understand when you say that you make a fool out of your self with eating because I have done that a lot. Recently, I went out to eat with family for lunch and I ordered more food than anyone else there. Then for supper asked what everyone wanted and one of them actually said to me "you shouldn't even be hungry with all you ate for lunch". I just wanted to stick my head in a hole. It was pretty embarrassing!
The thing I need to give up is fast food. Even if its just low carb fast food. Because everytime I enter one of the places, its like some alien being has taken over my body and I cant seem to order anything healthy. Diet sodas and s/f goodies aren't much of an issue with me because I cant stand the fake sugary taste of them. Now pastas, potatoes, and rice on the other hand is something that I have a hard time with. That's how I know I need to be doing low carb. What kinds of exercise do you all do? |

hpnodat1 - I seriously hope you looked them in the eye and said "Lunch was great. I'm sorry you were so dissatisfied with yours you needed to pay attention to mine. But that is one of the great things about my new way of eating. I was able to eat everything, still eat more tonight and lose weight. Now what would you like for dinner?"
As for drinking water I have super huge plastic glasses that I bought at Walmart ages ago. I drink one glass in the morning and then after I do I get my coffee as a reward. I always drink it first then I'm not as thirsty and can really enjoy my beverage of choice with our chugging it down. My exercise is yoga for 45 minutes or a 3 mile walk, depending on how I feel or how hot it is outside. Yesterday I skipped so I can't skp tonight. |

I guess I should have been more specific. When that happened I was eating carbage with full force. I had a bunch of things that I really should not have been eating. Although, I do not agree the comment that was made was out of line and there is no excuse for her behavior. I shall have to use that next time someone says something about my eating. Thanks! |

I am so sick of people being judgmental about what I eat. Ok scratch that... my brother. Let me fill in the blanks I was a size 18 in high school but it didn't matter because I still kicked ass on the swimteam and wasn't ever worried about it. Well my brother is a swimmer too. Turn on your tv and watch the olympic trials... see the guys bodies. That would be my brother. No seriously. 4 years ago I was in Long Beach watching him swim in the trials. So of course since he has always been Mr. Fit everything I am eating and doing is wrong. It doesn't matter that I have lost 50 lbs and I am almost the same size I was in high school when I was kicking the pants off the skinny girls I eat too much I shouldn't be eating what I am eating. Blah Blah Blah. Never mind he is only seeing me eat on holidays when the entire family gets together and not daily. He isn't with me when I am working out. So it really is a hot button for me when people judge us on our WOE. Everyone else is my life is so much support so it just sticks out like a sore thumb when he isn't. And thus ends todays episode of Jenni's deep seeded issues.

I agree with you 100% I have a cousin who was visting that was telling me I shouldn't be doing low carb it wasn't healthy. She is only slightly smaller then me. We go to dinner and I am having a grilled chicken salad and she is eating a huge plate of pasta alfredo and a small salad. She is telling me what I shouldn't eat but she is eating the same thing plus more. I think thats what people don't realize that I was already eating low carb food I was just eating the high carb food with it. I don't care if she wants to change the way she eats just shut up about the way I eat. Last time I was eating low carb my blood pressure and cholesteral went down I am hoping for the same results this time around.
