Wow Lene, you are great!
I just got my very first letter today.
It was so fun to find it among the masses of bills!!!
My daughter is making me some fancy stationary so that I can write you back!

Cool! Looks like we're on our way with fun mail -- sure does make the walk to the PO more fun.

Handmade stationery? I'm impressed! I bought some cardstock ages ago, hoping to do this, but when I get in a crafty mood, my knitting always calls to me, so the handmade cards never appear. I'm looking forward to seeing yours!

So far, I've gotten a letter out to everyone, but I really want to pop out to the dollar store sometime so I can get some cute notecards to use. Pcola Girl sent her first to me on a darling card, and it has me wishing I had some to send out to you all. Maybe this weekend I'll get into town...

Just wanted to know if any of you have been getting those bad thunder storms that we have been getting here. We have been on the tail end of them with tornado's and severe lightning but most of the storms head inland to the inland states.
Was worried about you all.
It was bad here this morning still but now it looks like its going to clear up some. Sure hope so, my poor cat has been terrified of the thunder and lightning and has been hidding under the bed and I cannot get her out.
Take care everyone..

We had storms a while back, but clear this week. Much to Danny's dismay, as he has to go out and mow the yard this afternoon...

Susan , I like to do crafts to but have never made any cards yet. But I would like to try, it sounds like fun.
My grand daughter and I make alot of jewerly, we can sit for hours making it.
I use to do some painting to and some wood crafts to. Done scrap booking once to. If its a craft I have probably tried it but not card making yet.
Right now I am working on a grapevine wreath for the front porch.

Lene- I got your letter as well. What a great surprise I will send my first batch of letters out on Monday.

Sadly, I am not very crafty, so handmade stationery will not be coming from me!! The craftiest I do is in the purchase of cool paper and envelopes I hope nobody minds that!

This is such a wonderful idea. I look forward to making new friends with you all!

Before I forget- would it be okay for us to share our birthdays (just the Month & day )? It'd be nice to give and receive B-Day cards, don't you think?

Sounds like a great idea. I think I put my birthdate in my letter, but if I didn't, it is June 8. (coming fast! bah!)

Btw, Suan, I got your card and will be mailing back to you soon.

Sammi, thanks for the card...
I need to go buy some more, only got one left in my box,
I want to check out those card making kits and try to make some of my own. Maybe I'll hit the craft store one day this week if I get time.

We are addicted to the DIY channel. Our favorite show is Creative Juice.
I love to sew pillows, cute stuffed fuzzy animals and do embroidery.
This week I am learning to make origami mobiles - not an easy task!

I have tons of rubber stamps and used to do rubberstamping alot, years ago, to make my own cards. I have a few sets of enevelope templates as well and have made my own envelopes.

I would love to learn to make jewlery. I looked at some of the supplies at a local hobby shop but I hate to invest the money into it if I dont really know where to start or how to do it.

Susan does your daugher only make jewelry for people or does she make it for dolls/and or barbies also?

Rubber stamping is so pretty.
I like to use embossing powder, it looks very fancy.
Beading is very expensive! My daughter makes jewelry for family and friends.
I have an eclectic collection of beaded bracelets from her.
We did try making clothes for her barbies... ugh, it was near impossible! They are so tiny!

Rubber stamping is pretty, and I find it really relaxing. I don't have the space right now though to have all my supplies out, so they are all packed up. I have over 2000 rubber stamps so I really need an entire roo to devote to them and thier supplies

The rubber stamping looks like a lot of fun, and I love the results, but I dn't dare start some new craft. I do have about a million beads and findings (the gold or silver earwires and chains and so on) and have made lots of necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. I haven't done it for quite a while, but still have the supplies on hand. My mom does it, too. Mostly, though, I knit, and spend far too much money on really nice quality wool or alpaca or silk yarn. My stash is huge, and I've taken a vow to not buy any more yarn til I thin this lot our first.

I'd like to learn how to make barbie sized jewelry but no clue where or how to start. My DH and I are trying our hand and making customized action figures but I need to figure out a jewelry idea for the females.

Sammi, have you ever tried the thin elastic and really tiny beads to make Barbie jewerly?

I was running out of space to keep all my craft stuff so I went to a import store and got me two wicker trunks and put them in my spare room where I work on my crafts at and now I can just shut it when I am finished working and you don't see all the craft materials laying around the room.
I used one for all my sewing things and one for all my bead works and glue gun stuff....

How do you store all your crafts so they are out of the way from getting scattered all over the room?

Most of my stuff is in rolling carts with drawers, stored in the attic, for now.

I have never tried the elastic strign and tiny beads for barbie jewelry. That is an option, though I am looking for something that looks a little fancier.

Hi guys!
My weightloss had stalled and I decided to try eating a very clean induction (gave up cheese, nuts cream).
I immediately started losing again but unfortunately became very sick.
Perhaps it was induction flu.
Finally I am feeling great today and think the worst is over!
Thanks for all the great cards and letters.
I am excited to be able to write everyone back (now that my migraine is gone).
