It took me over 5 months! I was doing it for a wedding, that's why I started low carb. I was bridesmaid and they had bought me a size Karen Millen dress. I was not there to try it on so had to slim into it. Got addicted to low carb been here ever since, obviously not at 125 anymore!

but you're still down on your original weight and you've done it before so you'll do it again. it's inspiring for me.

we had our friends over for dinner last night and it went good. i decided i was going to drink but kept it to 2 white wine spritzers so didn't get drunk, didn't lose my resolve and stayed on plan (apart from the alcohol, obviously.) in the end i made chili. a veggie one and a meat one. i ate mine with lots of shredded lettuce, cheese, sour cream and home made guacomole. they ate theirs with lots of rice, garlic bread and nachos. i didn't feel tempted. i don't miss carbs like that - just the sweet stuff. i did berries and cream for dessert but didn't eat any as was nicely full. luckily there's nothing coming up for a wee while now so i can avoid the alcohol for another couple of weeks.

are you exercising now? i too have been a big runner in my time (ran the NY marathon a few years ago.) really want to start it up again but babies are making it tricky, as is having a huge (breastfeeding) chest at the mo.

I am down a pound this morning, it isn't much but it is something, a move in the right direction.

I am going to go to the Leisure center in a bit to work out. I have a goal to lose 7 by the 10th of May.

What are you after in Islington?

You guys are doing great!

Yes I am exercising, I go to the gym a minimum of twice a week but on average about 4 times, depends how busy I am at work. In summer I have more time to do a lot more.

got totally p*ssed on. really not the weather for ambling along upper st. in the end i just went into gap and m&s - bought clothes for the girls, not me of course! (i am going to treat myself when i've lost a stone.) also had to buy clotted cream as another thread got me all excited about trying it! not quite sure what to do with it though since i'm not eating any fruit yet. might just mix it in with a teeny bit of splenda and eat it as a pudding.

CONGRATS CONGRATS on losing a pound. that is fabbie. i want soooo much to lose a pound as i'll be back in the 10s then. impressed ladies with your exercise. at the mo i'm only doing one class of pilates a week but now my wee one is sleeping better i am hoping to get back into doing the cardio (run or swim) in the morning.

hello ladies. if you had to have a take away, what cuisine and dish would you order? i'm thinking the best one is maybe indian and something like a tandoori (grilled/clay oven baked) chicken or fish with salad. what do you reckon? i figure a chinese or even thai is just too glutonous and msg'ed. thoughts welcome... i'm not a big take away person but my dad and brother are landing on me for the w.e. and i'm cooking a big meal on sat night that i can't quite face doing it tomorrow as well.

Tandoori is good though I have yet to have a decent salad from an Indian.

Egg Foo Yung is also good. With slat and pepper wings.

Assuming fibre does not affect you then Flaxseeds are 0 carb, though very high in calories.

Hi

Weather has been AWFUL!!!!

I don't normally count, have been stuck since I came back from holiday so I am using Fitday for a week or two now.

I find I do better if I DO count my calories, I like to be between 1400 and 1800 a day! Some days vary, if I am more active I will eat more calories.

i'm around the 1800 mark myself, sometimes 2000. can't go any less than that without feeling starving, although coconut oil 3x a day is helping masses to curb my hunger.

where did you go on holiday? we're going to crete in 4 weeks and i'm aiming to keep on plan but am going to drink a little wine in the evenings as having been pregnant/bf'ing for the last 3 years, feel like i deserve it! do you find lc okay to do when on holiday?

hello again lady. i wondered where you'd got to. good to have you back. london is so lov-er-ly when it's sunny. i have had a great day sitting with both girlies in our garden. the 4 month old has been on her playmat in the shade and the 2 year old has been in and out of the paddling pool all day. mummy has just been sunbathing and reading trashy magazines. tomorrow we're planning to go to the lido at london fields. ho hum, feel slightly guilty that maternity leave is so much fun!

wow wow wow - cancun. v excited for you. i love mexico. we're going to crete in 3 weeks so upping the ante on the eating now in a desperate bid to lose a few pounds. am finally in the 10s! only just. shaved off that last pound this week (in spite of a booze fest on sat night) which means i've lost half a stone since i started. hurray hurray. what news your end?

alcmene - what you up to?

eve - nice of you to drop in and thanks for the kind words.

Hiya.. I lost 3! So big whosh for me at 13s5. If I can get into the 11's by June I will be well happy.

I bet your girls love the sun!! Did you coat them in sunblock?
How can you not love trashy mags?! They are my guilty pleasure.

Have you been following the news? London has gone mad!

very well done! that's amazing. you must be feeling so chuffed with yourself. i'd love to get on the scales and see a 3 pound loss but i think that i'm just somone who plods aong slowly. also breast feeding means my body is stubbornly holding onto the pounds as it thinks it needs them to make milk. when i stopped feeding lola i lost half a stone in a couple of weeks just from not having all those fluids anymore.

when you say london has gone mad are we talking boris here? i've not really caught the news much today (too busy sunbathing in the garden. oops.)
