Lizett, I am in the same boat as you are. I started low carb in 2000 and lost 100 lbs. but then I got ill and was down for about a year and my low carb went out the window. I messed up big time, gained alittle back but lost it now but am in a stand still now. No matter what Ido it won't start coming off again. I still want to lose 60 or more lbs.
For the New Year I have really gotton back on the ball eating right so hopely when I see my doctor again next month I will have lost some. I have been doing the things I did when I did lose so much like planning my meals for the week and counting the carbs in each meal so I will not over do on them. I keep a log book on all I eat and drink again. I have been trying to get some exercise but cannot do what I once did due to some medical problems with my back, hips and knees. So pool exercises are all I am able to do right now. I will try to post most everyday so I will see you here again.

Hi Pcola
I need to lose another 20 lbs or so and I will be at goal 155 Lbs or so. Seems so little but these last 20 lbs wont budge....i saw 160 once and gained asap. I will probably have to try something else like a low fat low carb version, but who wants to just eat boring food everyday???? Im here if you need support i think water exercises are great, helped me shed 100 Lbs ![]() |

Lori, put those snacks away now...............You don't need those, eat you some cheese sticks or pork skins instead. I make sugar free jello alot for my snacks to.
I am here anytime you need me ok. PM me sometimes. I will try to PM you and send you my email address so we can chat more ok. Remember you are special. Lizett, sure wish I was to my goal now but I am not but I just know I will be befolre this year ends because I am really working hard on my losing weight. I have got to lose these other 60 lbs. so my knees will feel better. My doctor is talking surgery on them but I won't let him do it, I just don't want to go through all that, I am hoping losing the rest of this weight will help them. If then they don't feel better I amy allow him to do surgery. Come on we know we can lose it don't we? Together we can lose it. |

Howdy Queens (friends)...
Wow, it's been a while since I have posted on this thread. So belated HAPPY NEW YEARS to you all
!Liz: Looks like you have come into this yr w/ a renewed attitude, THAT'S GREAT! I worried about you a lot. I think you are beyond gorgeous to and only wish that you could see it as well. I hope this New Year brings you nothing but happiness .Lori: I totally understand how you feel. It truly is a vicious cycle when it comes to eating and such. I have had times when I fall off the wagon and can't even seem to get close enough to it to get back on it. Having something "knock you down" doesn't help much either. But I have to always remember I can either get it together now or I can weight until I'm 20-30 heavier, more depressed and overwhelmed to fix it then. I also have to remember that *I* am in control, NOT the food. I hope 2008 is a year that is great for you as well. Mary: , happy to meet you! That was great advice that you gave to Lori, we all need that from time to time....THANKS!As far as me? Holiday's were good except in the eating department. I exercised lots and that didn't help at all. Infact I OVER exercised almost everyday. The good thing is I am now able to fit into a size 10. The bad news is I gained about 8lbs through this whole mess. I have since lost the gained weight so I guess that is another "silver lining". I decided that I needed to find a way of eating that I could maintain for life. I have been reading/investigating higher fat plans. I've had the pleasure of upping my calories ( a lot) and still lose weight. I have been reading info on "Eat Fat and Get Thin" by Barry Groves (there is a thread about it on the "Other Plans" forum). I started it this pass Monday and I'm doing really well so far. Before reading up on this plan, I was NOT eating enough calories. I've learned that my body will likely get to comfortable with the lower cals and I'd have to eat like a bird for the rest of my life. I just didn't want to have to do that. So I'm doing something totally different from what my nutritionist told me to do after I had WLS. I also learned that I was doing low carb the wrong way when I tried it before I had surgery. I think had I learned it the right way, I could have not had surgery at all. While I'm very grateful for my surgery and where it has gotten me to this point, I'm happy to see the light now! So any who, I'm doing a little experiment with this new plan. I'm a bit nervous about it since the cals are much higher then I was taking in. But so far I'm doing good with that. I figure it this way, if I can maintain my current weight and be able to eat enough to prevent further damaging my metabolism...then I'm good with that. At this point, any weight loss will be a perk! Well I've blabbed enough for now. I hope this finds you all doing well. ![]() To all... C

Wanted to see how everyone is doing.
Lori, hope its going better for you and you have cut out that snacking. I want to help you all I can so email me sometimes ok. I lost 1 pound this last week. I know its not much but they will eventually add up. Today I made a big bowl of chicken salad and plan to have some for lunch and then take the rest to my daughter, she wanted some and had to go to college today and did not have time to make it so I did for her. She has already lost 40 lbs. on low carb and only has about 15 more she wants to lose. So is doing better than I am but she is so active and burning it off where I am not active like I use to be because of some medical problems I have with my knees. She and I belong to the YMCA and we go there, she works out with all the equipment and I just use the pool for water exercises because my knees hurt to bad when I try to use all that gym equipment like she does. Do any of you go to the gym? I really love it alot, just wish I could do more than the water exercises though. But the water has helped me tone up the muscles in my legs alot and thats what I have been working toward because they were so weak. Not doing much else today, just washing some clothes and picking up things around here as usual. If my hubby doesn't stop throwing and laying things around I am about to kick him out in his work shop........Guess most men are like that though. See yal all later, post often ok. Let me know what I can do to help you all out some to. I have a recipe I want to try, found it in a magazine. I will get it and post it for you all to if you want it. Be good................ |

Lizett, I wish I could do alot of exercise but my bad knees prevent it so I just stay with my water aerobics. I would love to get out and walk or just go to the gym but can't right now with my knees.
I do have some chair exercises I can do while sitting, they are mostly for my knees and legs though. I was in rehab for a long time with them and they gave me exercises I can do while sitting or laying on the bed. Something that does not put alot of pressure on my knees and hips. I wish I could ride my bike to, I tried that one day and it didn't work out so well. |

Morning Queens...
How is everyone today?
Liz: , I've missed you as well. I have trouble posting at times, I've been off of my thyroid meds still. I dip in and out of depression and just can't seem to bring myself here to post. But I definitely will check in when I can.Thank you for the congrats, same to you on your loss! KUTGW! Lori: Good to read your post! So now you HAVE to let those ripped pants be your motivation to get back on track and stay there. I know it is hard but you can do this! I think it would be a wonderful idea to cook meals ahead of time. That would definitely help you stay on track. I have also found that not being so restrictive helps a lot, too. I've been playing around w/lots of recipes on here and I have to say, this WOE is GREAT!!! I made those Revolution Rolls, that are sort of like hamburger buns. I think they are pretty good, definitely replace my need to have bread wrapped around my meat for sandwiches. You mentioned tacos, well, I've seen peeps around here talk about making taco salad shells from shredded cheese. So you can still have your favs, you just have to search around to find suitable low carb replacements. I have found many right here on this website. And the good thing that I have found is, most of the recipes have ingredients that are basic things that you might have at home already. Not sure if you are familiar w/a member here named Linda Sue. She has a website w/lots of recipes, many induction friendly; they are marked w/ an * on her site. I'm making her the deep dish pizza sometime this weekend...YUMMY! Her web address is:Linda's Low Carb Menus & Recipes - Home PCola: ![]() As far as me? I'm still doing pretty good, I'm really happy w/my increased fat experiment. I'm trying to keep my focus off the scale right now. I've been able to convert to a higher fat/higher cal way of eating, w/no gain. I've probably over all had loss so far. I can't seem to keep up because I had a gain and don't remember where I was before the gain, I have some idea but can't remember exactly. Either way, as long as I'm not gaining w/the increased cals, I'm o.k with that. At this point, a loss will definitely be a perk for me, not an expectation! Well, I'm off to hang out w/my mom today to you all.....C |

Good morning Queens
Well its DAY TWO on induction, and im feeling it ughhh. I havent had coffee in 2 days now and im getting really *****y *L* im trying to avoid the high fat creamer. I worked out 1 hr 20 mins yesterday. I did threadmill and ab roller and some weights burned 580 calories just on the threadmill. Im in moderate ketosis so thats great. Im gonna try hard to do this for the next 3 weeks. Im using that Website cassandra posted , she has some sheets you can print and post all your meals etc. It great for me anyways ![]() Miles is home and trying to re do the laminate flooring i feel bad for him. Its a shitty job Yesterday day i made tuna patties from Linda's website, they are YUMMMIE and good for induction I only had 19.5 carbs and probably around 1700 calories with 580 burned from exercisewell so far all i had to eat today was, Breakfast 1 Piece toast and Tea 3.5 carbs Lunch: turkey breast grilled and salad 4 carbs Dinner: Chicken and spaghetti squash and veggies 6 carbs snack: SF jello 0 carbs Tea/ or coffee no creamer 2 carbs TOTAL 15.5 carbs LORI: Well im glad your back on the wagon, its hard I know....look at me now, i need to lose 10 lbs to be where i was 2 years ago but its so hard...im hungry and *****y but i MUST do it. Im here if ya need me, check out that link cassandra posted, cheap, yummy and easy recipes ![]() Last edited by Lizett : 01-22-2008 at 09:43 AM. |

Lizette, how do you make your tuna patties?
All is well with me today, my doctor had delayed my knee surgery until I get some rehab with it. That was a God answered prayer. We will be moving into our new house around the 12 of Feb. and iwanted to wait until after we got moved to have it anyway. Not much going on here, our weather has been cooler than normal here for the last week. Really strange to have it this cool here, and they say we are having global warming....... Be good............. |

ok well i didn't have alot of time to write extensively yesterday so here we go.. other than not staying on track this last weekend.. ok.. we paid up our visa card to use that weekend.. but after only using it for one day they froze it.. for "security reasons" im sure you can see the sarcasm dripping off of those words..lol.. anyways.. i called of course i cant get anyone because no one was there until yesterday.. well it forced us to use our debit.. which made us go over in our acc. and charged us $135.00 in courtesy pays fees... well needless to say i called yesterday and got all that credited back to the acc.. and made sure the fraud dep. had our cell phone so it wouldn't happen again.. besides that and my boys grades dropping... im stressed and im trying to find a different job.. cause im really frusterated that my company is so much more worried about how much time im speding on the phone with the customer... than me actually helping them and solving the reason for their call.. this is retarded... i want a company that actually cares that the customer is taken care of.. my husband asked me why i wouldn't let him just get a second job.. and i said cause he would never see the kids.. and i would never see him and i think thats too much for one person. so today im going to town early to get applications and all that..
ok.. so on the to diet talk.. ok lizett: im totally on induction with you.. and i know im out of shape when im sitting here typing and i have to take a break cause its kiling my arms..lol.. I have 13 pounds to loose to get to where i was a year ago.. but i know we can both do it.. with the support of eachother... your gonna look beautiful on your wedding day.. what exactly is the date... Pcola girl: well thats great that you don't have to have surgery right now... Im happy for you.. well Im really hoping everyone else is doing ok.. I wish they would come back to us.. ive got to go.. oh by the way my hair is black now.. ill get a picture up soon. ![]() |

Good morning Queens
Well im sore as ever from lifting and replacing my laminate floor, I didnt work out yesterday but damn it feels like it Im still in ketosis but light. I ate around 18.5 carbs yesterday so im happy about that ![]() So far today this is what im gonna or ate: Breakfast, 1 small coffee light cream splenda, one Pc low carb toast no butter 5.5 Lunch: Salmon grilled, spaghetti squash baked 4 carbs Dinner: Taco meat and salad Faux taco salad 8-10 carbs Snack: SF jello PCOLA girl: the tuna patty recipes are on that website cassandra posted, Linda's low carb recipes, its under fish/seafood section, they are pretty easy, 2 cans tuna, 2 eggs, seasoning mix and fry on a pan like patties. I added green onions to mine and parsley, very good its almost liek crab cake/ tuna omelette....i hope your surgery does go well when you ahve it congrats on the new house.LORI: Day 3 on induction, im doing a bit better...not so crazy hungry..and it feels good to be in control. Its hard making food ahead of time but i figured it out. I bought a salmon six pack for like 6 dollars and i just use one piece every other day for lunch with already washed and pre cut salad. I also bought cheap stirfry turkey slices or beef and make a mini stirfry with salad for lunch also. Its cheap, I think my whole lunch for the whole week costs around 15-20 dollars for 5-7 days. i also found lipton or knorr soup thats like dry and you add water its veggie and costs like 1.49 per pack , has only 3-4 carbs per cup or so...and i can add stuff to it too. dinners are usually salad and some meat I also use some of linda's recipes, cheap and says if good for induction Im gonna make the tuna muffins tonight for breakfast tomorrow and the rest of the week I hope your doing ok on induction and sorry to hear about the visa thing, so stupid. |
