Support in Wisconsin?
Hi everyone,
I'm beginning Atkins and would love a buddy to provide and receive support, motivation, encouragement, and a little friendly competition. I know this WOE is the right one for me, as I had lost weight doing this a few years back, but it's always helpful having someone with you on the same track! Please let me know if anyone is really serious about this, I know with the right attitude my goals will come fairly easily and quickly! Success is the only option! |

Sounds great! I should be getting my Atkins book in the mail by Saturday I hope (to read the 2nd time), along with a couple recipe books and a workbook. I am really excited to make this happen. Like I said, I know this will work for me, I just need to get over the initial hump and find someone or two who is on the same track so I don't feel like I'm going it alone. My body responds well to low carb and I know it's the healthiest way for me. It's time to get off the sidelines and do it permanently, for my health and my vanity.

Erin I think you need 25 posts and 25 days to be able to pm someone here. So keep Posting! What kind of excersize will you be doing? I will be mostly walking at first.

I'll be lifting weights and walking. I've lifted weights here and there for several years now, so it's not something completely new to me. I love the sculpted, lean look. I was running 2 miles a couple times a week this year up until this fall, but I think I'll stick to walking now. Can I ask what part of WI you are from?

I am near platteville. We have just moved here from the Jefferson area. We are in a really tiny town but its very nice here. The people here are so nice. Have you checked out the recipe room? I am going to be checking it out today while I make my grocery list.

I haven't checked out the recipe room yet, I will have to do that. I ordered a couple of recipe books that I hope to get in the mail tomorrow (please!). I live in Manitowoc County, in the country actually, and the "small" town that is 2 miles away has about 700 people. I love things on the slower, quieter side. I had to check where Jefferson and Platteville were exactly, then I remembered that I go past Jefferson almost every night on my route!

Well, I'm getting fired up to start tomorrow! Well, technically today, but that doesn't really count since I haven't gone to bed yet.) Hope you're still on board Sally! I will let you know how each day went when I get home from work at night.

Well, day 1 went great! I'm amazed at how much better I feel physically and emotionally. I feel so much more grounded and optimistic. If anyone else would like to join in for some major results, wherever you're from, feel free!

Today has gone really good for me Erin sorry I didnt check in sooner! I had lettuce rollups with steak in them for breakfast and will have meatballs with lc sauce for lunch. I am going to try to get some walking in later today as well. Have you started a journal yet? It can be a nice thing to keep you motivated.

Glad to hear your day went well
I think I need to work on my omelette skills, since they will probably be my staple breakfast food. I wish I could find bacon without added sugar and nitrates to add to that. I did start a journal, and I think that will help me. I don't think I really had a journal like that before. I even cut out pictures from some fitness magazines and will keep adding quotes I like to it along the way. Are you sticking to Atkins pretty religiously? I am in the process of re-reading it right now, and I find it fascinating. It just makes so much sense considering issues with gaining and sugar cravings. Happy low-carbing! |

Hi Erin good morning to you! I am doing Atkins but not quite strict induction as I am allowing a bit of dairy like low carb yogurt. How is the weather by you? All of the schools here are shut down for the Ice. Stay safe!

The weather wasn't too bad today. We had just an inch or two of snow this morning. I'm starting out pretty strict with Atkins right now. I want to make sure I get this right. Also, it seems to help when I have good guidelines to follow that keep me pointed in the right direction and not going astray. I can't wait to see the results after 2 weeks and beyond. 3 days down! I definitely want to post some pics here in a few months.

[b]Erin, just wanted to see how you are doing. Hope it is working out ok for you. I know low carb works because it worked for me when no other diet plan ever had. I know it can work for you to but you have to satick to it for the long haul.
Our weather here is up to near 80 already today and had been in the 80's for a few weeks now. We did, not long ago, have a cool spell and it got down in the 60's at night time and only in the low 70's during the day. Right now its sunny and hot here. Wish I could send you all some of our beautiful weather............ See you later, keep warm in that snow and ice.[b]

Thanks Sally! How are things going for you? How strict of a level of carbs are you doing right now? I do seem to notice that my appetite and cravings have been in check this week, which is really nice. I think my jeans feel a little looser too
![]() Thanks for checking in too Pcola Girl! Given my past carb obsession at times, I know this is the right way for me, too. It just makes so much sense. Are you at goal already? Wow, I think I could suffer through your cool spell. I think the low the next two nights is supposed to be around 7. Brrr! |

Hi everyone!
I'm from Wisconsin also! I'm in the northwestern part. I am back to low carbing again since that is the only thing that seems to work for me. I officially started January 17. I'm going to do it this time. So I am here looking for new friends to do this together. I am aiming for 50lb lost by June. I know I can do that. Then after that I am just going for 5-10lbs mini goals until I reach below the 200lb mark. I really can't wait until that day. I haven't been there since I was in my teens. Have a great day all!
