QUEEN NEWBIE'S NOVEMBER

Here were are in the month November, a month of new challenges and a new YOU. It's time to forget about the mistakes that were probably made last year, last month, and start fresh with a new resovle to get our goals met....and to those of us who made great strides, let's continue them throughout the new year.

The major food holiday's are just around the corner. It's a difficult time for all of us to maintain goals and stick to plans. The best thing to do is to make/take meals and legal snacks to holiday gatherings so you won't be tempted to eat illegal foods. Being prepared helps you stay on plan.


One of the main ingredients to being successful in losing weight, is to be accountable. Posting daily or as much as you can will help you achieve that. Being supportive and motivating other's will help as well. Journaling is also a helpful tool in helping to keep you on track and accountable.


As always, keep in mind that you are beautiful, important, special and that you deserve the best. Lose the weight for you and not because someone wants you to...Make this year your best one yet Queens....

Hi Queens

sorry if i didnt post the new thread correctly, its my first time doing this.
I exercised 5 days last week. I weighed in at 175...not to bad but not great either.
I know we are frustrated and some of us even struggling, It seems this has been goign on forever. Im near my goal and I HAD reached it, but at that time i thought i need to lose more. How naive i was. 160-165 is NOT overweight. Now i feel like a LOSER...like i failed. I have my wedding coming up in 3 months and I MUST lose atleast 5-10 Lbs. I know ive done very well with exercise but I have NOT stuck to plan....i even ate on plan yesterday then had sugar free pie and one potatoe...I know this is ok once in awhile but i do this every couple of days....

Hopefully we can all stick together and reach our goals together. I need you queens more than ever now....

Well its been a couple of days since ive posted.. I started counting my carbs this morning im at 12 so far.. Im at the point where I have no energy anymore Im dead tired.. I don't want to do anything except just lay around and watch tv.. so Im at the bottom of the barrel.. mabey thats a good thing mabey I can get motivated.. ive been a yoyo :yoyo: for months now... and im starting to not like myself again and I really don't want to get that low again. cause it effects my relationship.. so im gonna try and be stricked again.. im gonna hang up a pair of pants i wnat to get into on my bedroom wall and try them on like every 3 days jsut to make myself mad..lol.. so I can keep on track

on another note.. my oldest daughter is home sick.. she was vomiting lastnight and ran a fever today she is coughing.. im making her stay on the couch covered up and she can watch cartoons..

well I hope everyone comes back soon im sure all of us could use the support :grouphug:

I have no idea how smiles work, sorry.
I understand your frustration, as you can see from my above post i have done better with my eating habits and now im off the wagon. Im so frustrated im even considering taking diet pills...sad eh?
I dont have any great answer as i need to lose 10 Lbs myself. What really gets me is that i was 160 2 years ago then went to europe gained 5 lbs and stayed at 165 for 1 year and ever since i went on birth control i gained 10 lbs...then went off the birth control and lost enough to get down to 168 Lbs...then cheated and here i am at 175...ive YO-YOed for the last year and a half. Im very frustrated....we need to support eachother. Im going to try induction again ughhh and hopefully get into ketosis and lose the 10 LBS for once....i just wanna see 160's again....wish me luck

Happy November to you Queens!

The November thread looks good to me, Liz. I just realized that we needed one, I've not been keeping up with my days *L*.

Well, it's a new month and we need to kick it in to gear, RIGHT? I know I plan too, I want to be at my goal of having a normal bmi by Jan 31st 08'. I went and looked up what the poundage would be for me to reach that goal. It looks like it will be 168. I always thought it was 163 so I guess it's all in the ball park. I figure if I stay dedicated and not veer from my plan, I can lose at least most of the 22lbs by then. The count down begins: 87 days left!!!

So now I'm on the train, protein first, plenty of water and at least 45 mins of exercise 4-5 times a week. I've been doing these things for the most part anyway, I'm just making a better commiment to doing it daily. No matter what!

Liz: Thanks for getting us started for Nov, you did wonderfully!

I know just how you are feeling, the frustruation that you are feeling. It is tough once we get into these cycles. I'm wondering if you are trying to stick with something that is to restrictive, hence you slipping up when you do.

I have found for myself that I can't really go into my eating plan as real restrictive. Perhaps start doing a "work up to" plan. Maybe commiting to changing one thing in your diet per week. This way things become a habit and are less overwhelming then trying to restrict all at once.

I really think it is doable to lose those last lbs by your wedding. I'm here as your cheering section...YOU CAN DO THIS!

Well guess I'd better go get me some coffee, I'm cold! I need to warm up some. Then it's off to exercise, so far I'm doing good. I think I went in to fast over the weekend though. I ended up starting my exercise yesterday morning and was just to exhausted to finish it. I'm not going to let that deter me though, I'm going to get back on that saddle again.

Let's make it a good week, Queens!

mondays eating log: I will try and post a daily eating log at the end of the day

breakfast: coffee w/sweet n low & creamer = 7 carbs
3 egg omlett w/cheese & 3 pieces of bacon = 5 carbs

dinner:
hamburger meat w/veggies & cheese = 6 carbs

supper:
hamburger steak w/cheese and mayo = 1 carb

4 glasses of tea = 0 carbs

total carbs = 19 carbs

Good Morning Queens

I exercised almost 1.5 hours yesterday. I did weights, threadmill and rowing machine. I will go and do cardio tonight, maybe swimming or eliptical.

This is what i ate yesterday:

breakfast: 2 pc LC toast with cheese, coffee 7 carbs
Lunch: bran cereal with soya milk 6 carbs
Snack: Tea 0 carbs
Dinner: Fish, salad, half a potato and veggies 15 carbs
Coffee: 2 carbs
Snack: rasberries 2 carbs
Total: 32 carbs
Not bad but not great either....

Lori: Your menu sounds good, doesnt seem like a lot of food tho'???? Keep it up im sure you will lose soon

Thank You so much for the support. I really need it. How many carbs to you eat per day??? Im going to try and eat around 20-30 carbs per day and exervise 5-6 days a week...3 of those days i will do intense cardio...and weight training. If i stick to a decent plan i should drop 5-10 lbs by january. lets see if we can make our goals by january 31st

Well so far today i had

Breakfast: 2 pc LC toast with PB and coffee 6 carbs
Snack: Tea 0 carbs
For lunch i have chicken and veggie stirfry and snack SF jello 5 carbs total
Dinner: Beef stirfry and coffee 6 carbs
Snack: Tea 0 carbs

Total: 18 carbs or so for today...elts hope i dont break down and have a high carb snack at night...thats my weak point especially when miles is around... but he is now gone until friday so i should be ok

this isn't bad considering I got up late.. it was hard to finish supper cause my appetite is slowly changing.. we are low on food right now so i don't have alot of choices.. we don't have any chicken so its stricktly beef or eggs as meat.. but i haven't excersized any more than normal household chores.. my energy still isn't what it needs to be yet..

Howdy yall!

Happy Wenesday to you, Queens!

Well I think it is Wenesday anyways , my days seem to be all messed up.

I signed up for sparklepeople.com and I get the newsletters for different things. I signed up for topics on depression. I got one the other day about the symptoms of depression, well sadly enough I have all of the symptoms . I went to a psych before my WLS and she told me that I was mildly depressed but didn't think it was severe enough for meds at the time. Well I think I've been fast tracked to needing the meds.

Problem is, I don't really want to take the meds for it. I've heard to many horror stories plus, I watched my mom battle with bi-polar meds. She was on to much I think and it got really out of control. That and the fact that I JUST DON'T LIKE TAKING MEDS! I really don't enjoy going to the doc either but if I must...

As far as my eating plan? I'm still honoring my commitment. I'm still doing my exercise, also. I already exercised today but I really struggled through it. I'm still tired from being gone yesterday and me like a crazy person, didn't have coffee first . I learned my lesson though...tired already? Do a bit of caffeine first! I really hate to struggle when I exercise. But I was determined NOT to give up. I will probably do another 20-5 mins later.

I have to go out today and get a few groceries. Seems like food just evaporate around here .

Liz: You are welcome, I want to support you in any way that I can!

My carbs? I have up to 35g a day when I'm trying to really focus. Sometimes I will splurge and do up to 50g but this is very rare. I try and keep them really close to 20g if I can help it. That is where they were in my peak losing phase.

I'm wondering if you try a really clean induction, if you would have different results. You know like only the meat, eggs, limited cheese and veggies that are allowed on induction. Here is a link that details the induction phase: Atkins Induction - Atkins Diet Induction Phase

Doing this may spark your weightloss. Congrats to you on your fabu workouts, too!

Lori: Your menus look pretty good, just look like maybe you need more food. According to Atkins, you have to EAT to lose. I know just what you are talking about on the food front. I seem to run out of everything so quick around here. It seems worse when we are low on funds

I hope your dd feels better soon. Sick kiddos make me sad, poor little things. I hope your energy returns quickly as well.

Deb: so nice to see you here. Two jobs will keep you busy and with NO life. I tried that once, I don't miss it.

Good for you on stepping back in to the "low carb" ring! It won't be easy but the fruits of your labor will pay off eventually. I hope you can take a few minutes to post when you can. We would love to support you as much as we can!

Well, I have to get running now. I have so much to do around here. We are decorating this X-mas, it's my first time doing so..(long story to this). Normally we visit my in-laws in KY. My dh want to stay home and have our own X-mas this yr. Well of course this is music to my ears, I'm sick of going to KY for X-mas. It's high time we start our own tradition.

I also have to figure out what our science experiment will be for next Tues. My kiddos are in a co-op (we homeschool) and we have to do the experiment for next week..

And last but not least, I'm going out of town this weekend. I'm only going to be gone one day but this will be a NEW experience for me. You see, I'm going WITHOUT my kids or my dh. Now I will leave my kiddos but only with my mom. And I have only done this about 7-10 times tops...THEIR WHOLE LIVES! I've never even left them with my dh for more then 8 hrs (when I had to work). I'm actually going to be gone over night and my kiddos will be with my dh...I'm nervous about this. Most people wouldn't be but I am, my dh history has not been the most responsible when it comes to the kids (of course I'm baseing this off of our early yrs...I have issues, sometimes I just can't let things go. Mostly when it comes to my kids and their safety. I figure you only have one time to do it right and I take that VERY seriously. I'm very over protective of my kids). He is better now and the kids are older so I'm optimistic about it. He has a cell and my kids know how to use it, plus they are very self sufficient kiddos. They can even feed themselves, my oldest (12yrs) can cook and does often. I think they are ready for this , well I pray that they are.

I'm going to a seminar and I really want to do this. It will be a very fulfulling experience for me and my mom is attending with me. Wish me luck, Queens! Or maybe you should wish my dh luck, cuz if something goes wrong, HE is gonna need it!

WHAT THE???? I posted just after Deb and its gone.....ARGHHH

Well here I go again, I worked out 54 mins on the eliptical yesterday burned 565 calories....i was tierd after...thats for sure

Im trying harder cardio and some weights and see where this takes me...I feel more toned but my belly is still a bit saggy ahh well. I ate about 20-24 carbs yesterday and did NOT eat after dinner, and burned 565 calories!!! My cat looked tasty after all that calorie burning *L*

I will workout tonight again, I will try and workout 5 days a week from now on. I WILL be 165 Lbs by February...OH I WILL!!!!!!

Lori: I agree with cassandra, seems like your not eating enough, be careful cause ive done that and i was in deep ketosis and lost no weight, cause my body was thinking it was starving so it held on to every little fat cell.....i say maybe add some steamed veggies somewhere in there or a salad???? You are doing well *hugs*

Cassandra: Oh i tried a very strict induction twice in the last 3 months...did it for the 2 weeks lost only 1 lb....i was eating less than 22 carbs a day...so obviously it doesnt work so well anymore...im doing a moderate induction with LOTS of exercise. Im also drinking oolong tea/Wulong tea, its a bit higher in antoxidants than green tea so it helps boost your metabolism...so it says. I like the taste anyways...Im sure your kids will be fine Enjoy your seminar.

Deb:im glad to hear from you *hugs* Your so busy all the time. Im glad your back on LC, im sure you will lose soon. Keep posting.

My menu for today:

well im down 1 pound to 149 I hate weigh in days but I need to keep it up every wednesday.. I think that we should start that back up again.. posting what i eat for the day has really helped me..

I have a little more energy today.. im hoping to finish my sons bedroom with mudding the celilng.. and finish getting caught up on laundry.. I had a really good night with the hubbie.. he is so funny when he takes pain pills and he is sleepy.. he gets really silly sweet..lol.. but i have to make an appointment for him whith a cyropractor today.. cause his back pain is totally out of control..

well ladies.. I agree I need to eat more food.. but if i do before friday ill run out of food and ill cheat. But im gonna eat veggies today.. i try not to eat before 9am cause im still really tired and i don't wnat to eat and then go back to sleep.. cause halaynna doesn't wake up till around 9:30 -10 I like it that way.. cause im not a morning person.. she has learned to stay in bed for the most part when the kids get up and ready for school.. she likes her sleep.. which is really good for me.. well ill post my meal plan tonight.. and a site i found with a full daily menu for induction that keeps it under 20c a day.. its great. and it looks so good.. ill put the link up tonight..

its good to see you back wigglebutt... we have missed you.. sounds like your getting the hang of the job.. congrats.. I wish I could go back to work.. ive just got another 2-3 years before dd starts school.. thats along time away.. and it stresses me sometimes.. but its ok.. i guess..lol

I went over a little but not really cause im counting some carbs that i should subtract cause of fiber so i think its still ok..

well my arms were horribly sore thismorning from texturing my bedroom wall yesterday.. i got the whole wall done.. i hate taking down wall papper.. Im gonna try and do the celing today.. I have a huge knot in my right heal so im having to walk on the side of my foot.. dh sais it might be a broken blood vessel but i don't remember doing anything to it.. its not as bad as it was yesterday though.. i feel prety good today..

Good Morning queens

Well I did well yesterday, I exercised again for an hour....35 mins of cardio and the rest i did weights. I burned about 400 calories. I also ate on plan...around 20-24 carbs. I had the worst munchies last night but I still didnt eat I weighed in just for some stupid reason and i was up 5 LBS in a week probably shouldnt have weighed in on a full stomach *L* but hey maybe halloweeen caught up to me we will see saturday on my official weigh in. hope im under 175 Lbs.

Lori: Congrats on the pound gone...your doing really well. keep it up. You sound like your keeping yourself really busy

Howdy all!

I'm still doing my thang, exercise and all...WOOHOO! I'm feeling pretty good about getting my exercise in. I was really, really tired daily before I kicked up my exercise. No my energy seem to be really good these days.

Shamefully, I didn't do good with my calories yesterday. I was way below normal. I find myself getting tripped up if I'm outside. Most of the time I hate to eat outside, I'm a nutrition fact freak. I can't stand NOT knowing what the cal/nutrition content is of certain foods. So now that I'm back doing my thing and really focused on what I eat, I end up not eating much if I don't know what is all in what I'm eating. I need to plan better is all. I have a lunch bag but I didn't pack it yesterday. I told you all, I'm a work in progress .

Lori: Congrats to you on the 1lb down... .

So sorry to hear about your dh back. My mom is having to have injections because of her back pain. Of course they have found lots of arthiritis in her back though. I hope he feels better soon.

Liz: I'm betting that weight gain is from your extra increase in exercise. You are burning some MAJOR calories there = major muscle building!

Congrats to you on passing up the munchie monster. I know just what you are talking about to. That was my major problem before I refocused myself. Everyday was an all out battle to not mindless eat or graze. It is really tough...YOU DID GREAT!

Well, I've gotta get going. I woke up late today and am behind on my food and water again...

thursday:

breakfast: bacon, coffee, tuna salad = 9

supper: hamburger, ranch, jalapenos = 5

total: 14

this is really low.. but i had alot of bacon and hamburger today.. im ashamed to say how much..lol.. ok.. 8 slices of bacon..but its not as bad as it sounds cause i cook it in the microwave so all the greese is soaked up by a bunch of paper towels.. and then about 2 cups of hamburger with the supper.. so im pretty full.. ive been working in the bedroom putting up my dh's collection of cars on the wall.. so ive been up and down a latter..

lizett: I agree I think your building muscle especially if your lifting weights.. you cant always go by the scale...when i was going to the gym.. i felt great and after about 3 months i was toning up like crazy.. now that i have a toddler at home i cant go and it drives me crazy.. just keep it up and you will see the results in no time..you will look hot hot hot...

cassandra: I wish I had your drive for the excersize.. i hate not being able to go to the gym ...thats really the only place i like to work out.. i hate doing it at home by myself.. dh said we could do it together but we haven't gotten to start it yet..

well my dh has an appointment monday.. chyropractors are cheaper than i thought.. but i just hope it helps i hate seeing him in pain..

I'm up and posting early today. I have to take my mom to the doc for a pain management injection.

I just found out yesterday afternoon that my seminar is cancelled f or this weekend. I wish they would have let me know sooner, nothing like getting all geared up for something and then having that shattered at the 11th hour . Oh well, my dh was more then happy , he didn't want me to go anyway.

He has taken this opportunity to ask me out on another date again tomorrow. I have no idea where we are going but I'm sure I will enjoy it just the same.

Lori: I've heard people on this board say that they have had WAY more bacon then that at a time. The bacon sounds yummy right now!

I use exercise videos cuz I don't like to go to the gym. I'm sure I will go some day but I like that I don't have to get ready and leave the house to exercise. Plus I hate to feel like people are stareing at me while I exercise .

Liz: I hope today is a good day for you. I know how frustrated you are with this whole weight loss thing. I hear stress keeps us overweight...try not to stress over it. You still have 3 months, working on habit changes, versus focusing on the scale numbers will get you there.

Also, have you considered talking to your doc about your not being able to lose weight since dealing with the birth control? Maybe your doc can advise you on what to do in your situation.

Hey queens

I didnt exercise yesterday bcause my body just couldnt do anything. I was exausted. I ate under 25 carbs so thats good. I also did not eat after 8 pm
Im in ketosis so im burning fat
I will try and exercise again today, hopefully tomorrows weigh in is good, I would love to see low 170's...maybe even 169 *L*

Miles is suppose toc ome home tonight but i cant get a hold of him, he might have been called out for work...not sure if thats a good thing yet???? Its been so hard not seeing him for 5 days then only seeing him for 1.5 days...and it seems this schedule will go on for the whole winter not sure what i can do....its really stressing me out...and i cant talk to anyone, not even him. He gets all sad and stressed

Lori: Wow 14 carbs wish i could do that *L* you must be losing fast ...good for you. Hope your DH feels better soon. I hope im gaining muscle, but also lose some weight at the same time

Cassandra: sorry your trip got cancelled. But i hope you enjoy your date...I love date nights...wish i had more of them. Thanks for the advise, i see my doctor in march for my physical and i will ask him some questions...

well Im just posting to say Im fighting off wanting another baby.. I already have three kids and husband and a tiny house with no more room for anyone.. at all.. pluss I don't want to gain the weight and have to work it off again.. but since me and dh don't have any kids together its just something ive been thinking about.. but in all reality it just wouldn't work out.. i like our every other weekend to ourselfs..and i really don't like getting up in the middle of the night.. bla bla.. so i don't think i actually want to its just that newlywed baby syndrome i think..

ill post again tonight and respond to everyone and list my meal for the day.. just wanted to get that off my chest

supper: 2 cups veggie stirfry w/hamburger = 20

total = 27

this is more than i would like.. but the veggie stirfry has sauce packages with it that i don't but is counted in the carbs so it isn't acurate..

but im suffed..

hopefully me and the dh is workin out a little tonight he said he would be i can tell he is really tired and i am too so we will see..
