NJ low-carber looking to converse.

Hi... Well, I don't know if this makes much sense or not, but I'm a struggling guy who has had many weight-loss successes in his life, but still cannot get and keep his weight down. I live down near the Jersey shore.

What I would like, is to find someone who wouldn't mind talking on the phone from time to time. To myself, many times a comforting voice and empathetic ear can be just what the doctor ordered.

I myself am not one to call up people and ask them for help, as in "I wanna eat a bananna split, HELP!" that approach might work for some and I wouldn't mind being on the receiving end of such a call but for myself sometimes a good conversation can be very theraputic. IMHO... at least for myself, I feel that feeling somewhat "isolated" can lead to depression and when you develop a connection with someone, through a good give and take conversation, things start to look better.

Most... however, it seem don't share this belief. I was very hurt a few years ago when I posted in another newsgroup forum about this very same topic and explaining that I would like to find people who wouldn't mind conversing on the phone from time to time.

Even though I didn't give any contact information, they e'ssentially said to me that "We think you have good intentions, but we're really not sure so we're gonna treat this as if you don't have good intentions" and proceeded to remove my post. This did hurt me as I felt I was not given the "benefit of the doubt" when I did absolutely nothing to deserve that.

Anyway... if anyone here shares some of my feelings about conversing, please feel free to contact me.
