Wow 94 pounds that is wonderful. Good Job. I am new at all. I think I am doing everything right. I have lost 5 pounds in 4 days. That isn't too bad to start. I am hoping for much more though. Glad the holidays are almost over.

Very New

Hi. I am 35 and live in Colorado at about 9200 feet. I am very new to this WOL. I have been diagnosed with pre-diabetes and have to watch the carbs. I also have many, many food allergies so following any diet to the letter is very difficult for me. I will be watching/counting carbs but I will have to modify this diet a bit.

My husband doesn't have any problems with weight or anything...so it's hard to keep up the willpower and do everything as I should. I have had severe health challenges all of my life and haven't had a problem with weight (except for the prednisone woes). I had to have a hysterectomy last year and haven't been able to lose the weight I gained during that time. I have been very discouraged and need a pal who understands, my husband doesn't quite get it. He's got the metabolism people dream of.

I would like it if you would be my pal.

I know exactly what you mean about your hubby. Mine needs to gain about 20 pounds. He can eat anything and drink as much soda as he wants too. I'm still pretty new to this WOL too. I did buy the ketone strips today to see if I was doing it right. I was. the little stick turned dark pink. So that is good it means I am burning stored fat as my fuel.

Good hearing from you. I am on yahoo messenger alot. My ID is christawood. I noticed alot of people on this message board use yahoo.

Talk to you later.

Hi, I just started Atkins on 12/30 so far its going good the first few days were hard giving up coffee and sweets but today my 5th day I didn't feel as hungry as the other days. I haven't been able to find the ketone strips, Christa you mentioned using the strips where did you find them? I looked in the drug store today but didn't find them. Im so glad I found this website, when I told a few of my friends that I was on the Atkins diet they were kind of skeptical. I look forward to hearing from all of you.

I know that feeling. I told a person who I knew was dieting and she told me right off that it wasn't healthy and that it was bad for my heart and that I would gain all the weight back. Yet a week later I see her munching on potato chips and fudge crackers. I would rather eat atkins and accusidly have it bad for me than to eat that way on her diet hehehe....

The keto strips I found at walmart. Just go to the pharmacy and ask for the metobstixs. There in a blue box somewhere on the same isle as the shakes and bars. They are 12.87 for 25 strips. I only use them when I have stalled for a few days.

Great to meet you glad to see you on the board.
