Looking for an encouraging Buddy!
Hello. I have been doing LC since May. I have lost 32 pounds but I am up two right now. I have been going on and off plan for over a month now. I don't want to yo-yo anymore. I am grocery shopping this weekend(maybe today) to get ready to re-do induction. I could really use some friends to help me along. Maybe re-induct with me or just be there when I am withdrawing and pissed
I plan to start on Sunday.I cleaned out my freezer and pantry today and gave one of my skinny friends all my bad food. I want to try to do the eggs/meats/veggies/cheese without soda, LC breads, snacks, ice cream... Just stick to the basics for two weeks. Maybe add coconut oil for a change. This is going to be hard! I am a 25 y/o mother of two. Ages 4 and 6. I am a stay at home mom so I am online alot I would like to lose 30+ more pounds. I just don't have alot of support at home. I don't have any "heavy" friends and DH is not overweight so I am in this alone. Please let me know if you'd like to be my buddy.

Hi Deeda! It sounds like you have really set your mind to making this work for you by organizing your food stock. That's really important.
Im from the Central Florida area, between Tampa and Orlando. I do work full time, but am on and off this site all day. I'd be glad to keep you encouraged, although I don't have the ability to do induction because of a medical problem, I can use support too. ![]() I have 5 children, all at home right now since the oldest came back a few months ago. They are 20, 15, 9, 8 and 7. All boys except for one, and I think she's the tough one LOL So what do you need to be accountable for? Do you want to post menus or weigh in together on a certain day? I have a supervised weigh in every Tuesday night so I could report that on Wednesday mornings if you like. Hope to hear from you soon. You aren't going to have to do this alone! ![]()

Yay! A friend! LOL
I have a 6 y/o boy and a 4 y/o girl. And my girl is TROUBLE! We already know we are in for it So I know what you mean. You certainly have your hands full.Do you mind if I ask what your medical problem is? I am learning alot about different problems we all have on this board. It's very informative. I just really need someone to help me through the bumps. I could post a food diary. That is probably a good idea. I would like Wednesday morning weigh-ins as well. Hopefully we can help eachother make positive decisions and stay on track. And vent when needed. ![]() 7am - Tea w/ Splenda 9:30am - 2 eggs w/ cheese/tomatoes/onions & sour cream (DH said he doesn't think I can have tomatoes/onions and sour cream in induction?) 10:15 - 9oz water |

Looks like you are doing OK to me. I haven't done induction in a long time, but I think you can have those.
I have reactive hypoglycemia and fibromyalgia. I'm type 2 diabetic but my sugars run very low most of the time. I tried low carb and it makes me very sick. So for now, the doctor has me doing a moderate carb with each meal. I have fruit and occasionally bread, in small servings with my meals and snacks. So far we have been able to stabilze it enough to keep me going for 2 hours at a time without a crash. I started a new medication last week that supposed to help by changing my metabolism, but it's interfering with my sleep. He hopes that will pass as I get used to the med. I have had alot of suggestions made to me by folks who mean well, but I have to work this out with my doctor. I was unresponsive when the ambulance got me to the ER the last time I didn't have stable sugars. Alot of things effect them including stress if I get upset, infections (I get those without any symptoms) and other sicknesses like the flu. My sugars go nuts. Most people who have this problem are type 1 and they call it Brittle diabetes. I am not type 1 but they are still labeling me as Brittle. I can't take insulin, in fact it would be dangerous for me to have someone give it to me if I was passed out. So, it's kind of scarey. I just try to eat right and get enough rest. I sure hope to get a good nights sleep soon. I think that I would feel 100% better with a solid night of sleep at this point. |

today's food:
breakfast - 2 boiled eggs, 1/2 cup yogurt (sugar free, fat free) coffee, non-dairy creamer, splenda break time 16 oz water raw chopped veggies lunch 1/4 cup whole wheat pasta 1/2 cup chicken stir fry veggies 16 oz water I'll have another snack before I go home. I'll make a protein shake with milk, 1/2 banana and 1/2 scoop protein powder. That will help me make it more than 2 hours, since my drive is an hour and I'll need time to get something started for dinner. This shake usually lasts me about 3 hours, sometimes more. Dinner something with hamburger... not sure yet. ![]() |

Good luck with getting your medical situation figured out. I have thought for years that I have fibromyalgia. My doctor says "No, it's just life". Huh. Who knows.
Is it a monsoon there today? The rain here today is insane! I hydroplaned on the way to my son's school this morning. But I recovered, thankfully. My back patio looks like a pool But it's NOT 98 and humid so that is a nice break.12:15 - 9oz water 2 slices ham 2 slices provolone mayo walnuts I am going to input this in fitday. I have never used it but I figured I would try. I also added coconut oil to my diet. I put in in my eggs this morning. We'll see in a few weeks if I get any benefits from that. Enjoy the rest of your day! |

I would like to try the aromatic coconut oil. I love coconut and think it would add an interesting flavor to veggies, but the brand I can get locally has no odor or flavor. But I sure love cooking with it.
No monsoon here, but it's been threatening and HOT~ Whew, be careful while driving. Glad you are ok ![]() |

Here is the link to my fitday - FitDay.com - Diet and Fitness journal for Deeda82.
The coconut oil I am using is also taste and smell free. Some people just eat it straight. I definitely could not! It is still raining here! Roads are flooded and there have been a ton of accidents. Wish me luck getting the kiddos to school. TTYL... |

Sending some sunshine your way today! Keep it safe.
Im exhausted from the very long day yesterday. 5 AM to 10PM is not a healthy schedule for me. I'm having to drive way too much and the gas expense is just part of the price I pay. I can barely move this morning as Fibro is screaming revenge for me not getting enough sleep. I weigh in at Weight Watchers tonight. I will NOT be surprised if I don't lose since I feel so heavy and stiff today. I'm sure my joints are packed with fluid from too much sitting, driving and all. Your fitday totals look great. How are you feeling? Do you think you are getting enough food? |

Thanks for the sunshine. It has stopped raining so the drive was not too bad.
What do you do that you are putting in such hours? That is a LONG day. I am an emotional/stress/boredom eater and I cannot imagine what I would need to eat to get me through a day like that. I will keep my fingers crossed for a good weigh-in tonight. I was down 2 pounds this morning Which is still 4 away from where I was and 30 from where I want to be but...I am tired today. We got a new puppy three weeks ago and he was up most of the night. I think the rain and thunder was throwing him off. Actually, now that I think about it, I was tired yesterday too. I was in bed by 8:30. This is typical for induction for me; the lack of energy. And the rain doesn't help. Makes me sleepy. I think that is enough food but I wouldn't be mad if I could fit in some more But once my body kicks into gear I will be fine with not eating alot. I just don't know if I had enough calories. I will have to look into that.Have a great day. Get some rest if you can. |

Im having to help out my oldest son right now. He came back home after 2 years of being a dumb butt and nearly ruining his life. We are trying to get him a car, since he's not able to afford it right now (just started working). Once that happens I'll get a break from driving all over tarnation for his job, my job, daycare, etc. Have a great day! I'll be offline for awhile, trying to convence the computer to get something done. Hugs! |

Hi Jennifer
Im trying to lose the baby weight, but my baby is now 15. LOL, so good for you in catching it early on.Deeda, the weigh in didn't go as well as I hoped but I know that starting new medications interfers with scale results so it doesn't really bother me that much. |

Welcome Jennifer. Baby weight can be so stubborn. That is how I originally put on my weight. Ever since, I have struggled to get back to where I was. I got within 10 pounds a few years back but then we moved from NY to FL and I was depressed then I discovered sweet tea and BBQ; I never had a chance - LOL.
Spice - Sorry to hear that. Why can't medications do their job without interfering with our weight? Urgh. At least you know; regardless of what the scale says; you are eating healthy and that is important. |

I weighed in at 179, but did so bad with my eating today so I am sure it will be back to 182-183 tommorrow. How often do you guys weigh?? I LOVE your routine Torri of wall pushups every time you visit the restroom, I think you are on to something!

I used to be obsessed with the scale. I found that it was so powerful it ruled my personality and outlook for the day when I would weigh every morning. I promised myself to make breaking that habit a goal before I tried to reach any other kind of goal. So far, I've managed to do well with it by joining Weight Watchers and weighing there on Tuesday nights. It was hard to break the habit, but well worth it.
I have not done the wall push ups (WPU) this week like I should have. I'll do them tomorrow if you will ![]() |

I will do 15 wall pushups everytime I visit the restroom, such a good idea!! I am the same way you were w/ the scale....I may go as far to even say on most days, I base my self worth on that stupid number. I hate that, but thats the way it is for now.....I can go about three days without weighing myself and thats about it. Fri and sat. nights I allow myself to have a glass of wine, so I NEVER weigh myself on those days. Other than that, every day first thing in the morning I am on that scale. I already know I will weigh first thing in the morning today (1:00 am my time now) Almost like an obsession and or adiction.

I weigh daily. for me, I like to know where I am weight wise everyday. It gives me an idea of what foods I can have and what foods make me retain or gain. I saw the pushups thing too. Hey, wherever you can get it in ![]() |

Do you have allergies? Oh, I hope your not getting pink eye. I drink "sleepy time" tea at night. I think it helps me relax so I sleep better. But it might be more mental than anything. I want it to work therefor I believe it does? Sometimes I take an OTC med for sleeping. Every now and then I go through a phase where I have trouble sleeping but this seems to help. |

I do have allergies but this is so weird. Only one eye? Its a bit better right now, but on and off will tear on its own.
Part of the sleep issues is my new meds. Doc said it could happen. And DH snores horribly, the dogs in the neighborhood have been coming in my yard at night and stirring up my dogs, and just general exhaustion from my hectic schedules and the financial stuff going on. I desparately need a couple of days of pure rest. But no time open anytime soon for that. Hopefully, tonight I'll sleep. I am going to try putting on some headphones and CD player with nature sounds or something to drown out the dogs and husband. LOL |

Well, I am glad your eye is getting better. I wonder if you unknowingly scratched it?
Sorry about the snoring. I am such a light sleeper. That would make me nuts. Although DH talks in his sleep. I have gotten use to it but still.. As for as "financial stuff". I get that. We are trying to get our act together so we can buy a house next Summer. Easier said than done. Hopefully you'll finally get some rest tonight. |

It was thundering and lightning and pouring last night. My patio was flooded and out front it looks like a tornado went through. Limbs, branches, crap everywhere. I am so over this rain right now.
I am down to 185 today! That is from 192 Sunday night. I am so excited! |
