I ate half a pizza last night ;-( My plan was to just eat the toppings with a side salad but that didn't work. It was a paper thin crust but I'm sure it was still full of carbs and this morning I felt terrible about eating it. This is NOT the way to onederland!

Donna, what part of Florida do you have a home? I'm in Perry, about 50 miles south of Tallahassee. I would think any food convention would have plenty of low carb foods to graze on...just stay away from pizza!

I vow to do better today.
Menu
B- coffee w/ cream, bacon, one scrambled egg
L- chicken wings
S - sliced cheddar
D - pork loin and steamed spinach
S - a few almonds

Teresa...welcome to the grump club! I attribute my grumpiness to the heat. That's also why I haven't been wanting to cook. The facial yesterday felt wonderful and perked me up, but by the end of the day I was back in a funk. Gonna work today on having a good attitude.

worst nitemare

OMG a food convention.......there is absolutely no answer for that one Donna!!! Teresa & Polly are right, try to fill up on lowcarb stuff to keep the carvings down & if it's a dessert bar surely the thing that all the thin people do is just take a taste of several. Pretend you are thin & act accordingly. Very few thin people can truly eat everything they want & most just have the lifestyle of eating lightly & no one is to say that we can't be living that same lifestyle while the weight is coming off. If you know what I'm getting at--think that thought came across kind of thick...LOL!! Hope you can at least check in to our site & get our encouraging words during the next 7 days. Chicago is beautiful w/lots of great stuff to do besides eat.

The heat always makes me grumpy, just ask anyone who has to live with me in the summer....ha!! That's why the cooler temps yesterday & today have been heavenly!! Today I am off & am planning on enjoying it.

Got ds moved in last nite after work. Boy I was I beat. Went right from work to his place & didn't get home till 11:30 & to bed around 1:00. Regretably I woke up at 7 & couldn't get back to sleep.....so I wasn't able to get home to eat my steak & ended up eating a burger in the midst of it all. But I know I was in the zone cause I woke up with a killer charley horse around 3...OUCH!! Was out of my potassium--should know I must take them if I'm going to do a meat fast. Will pick up a bottle today as I want to do the fast today too. Which will be tricky as today is dh 54th birthday & my son is wanting us to do something special. We already have his gift & the natural thing is to make him a nice dinner & a cake. Dinner can be fine but the cake I don't want to bake. And yet I don't want to say I'm dieting again & can't have that......what a corner our behavior has backed us into....so I don't think I can do the meat fast today as I'll need to have salad & veggie with dinner but I'm planning on doing it tomorrow. Oh, & when I weighted this a.m. I was down a lb, even with eating the burger bun. Am planning on making the scallops with bacon tomorrow. Boy that sounds yummy!!

Teresa do you mean that adorable doggy in the pic with you has behavior problems??? Ha!! Had my dog for 14yrs & my cat for 17yrs.

Have blabbed my way thru my first cup of coffee so I need to get a move on. Enjoy your day girls!!

hot, hot, hot

Boy is it ever hot here. The heat index was 104 yesterday...........you would think the pounds would just melt off. LOL I was in and out of the truck all day, hot, cold, hot, cold, probably will get sick soon!! But I did get the things done that I needed. Did not stay on my original menu but I stayed on plan. Ended up having taco salad (no chips or bowl) mmmmmm and chicken for dinner, so today I'll get the eggplant.

Donna you sound like you know where your faults are so that's the first step, Like the gals said there should be lots of low carb foods and let yourself have a treat or several small tastes of the no, no's and eat them very, very slowly to savor the flavor. Don't gulp them down. Don't feel guilty about what you are doing but don't over indulge. I think if you prepare yourself mentally ahead of time you will have a much more pleasant trip. It is the guilt that sometimes destroys us. So go, enjoy and be prepared to have small treats and then accept that you might have to work a little harder when you get back. Who knows with all the walking involved in a convention between the hall and the hotel and the site seeing you may do just fine!! Now remember this next week and tell it back to me because I was invited to one on the
17th with the lodge. OH NO!!! They want me to go because we do so much cooking and they are thinking of expanding the kitchen hours and want my opinion on some of the items..................hope it is the meat ..LOL!! The only way out at this point is if I get picked for jury duty on Monday and they hold me over for that!! Anyway good luck and do try to check in with us, we can be very supportive!

Teresa and Polly I hope the grumps are gone for you, but with this heat I could be right there..........By the way Polly 1/2 a pizza is better than the whole thing ha ha ha.

Corrisann I think you are a little stressed out .The moving is not easy and all the emotions that go with that! When things settle down you will too...........And when you get the PBJ cravings maybe you need a little sweet thing. There are some good lc jello's and if you topped it with whipped cream you might hit the same satisfaction spot and not have the guilt. Try it!!
Well I guess I have gone on long enough.

Today's Menu
B-Hamburger patty w/eggs
coffee w/cream
L-grilled shrimp and eggplant parm thingy
D-Roasted garlic stuffed pork loin and salad
S-LC jello w/whipped cream (talked myself right into that!)

Hope everyone"s day is cheerful

Thursday

Greetings, All--
Kathleen, I chuckled when I read your attempt to encourage us grumps out of our doldrums, so thanks! It helps to have a cheerful person in the midst of grumptown! I guess it's the weather, or maybe boredom with routine. I wish I could go somewhere, but mh isn't up for any kind of an excursion; he doesn't want to leave the dog! And yes, Corrisann, the darling little poodle is a jumpy, demanding little girl! Spoiled to the max, our fault of course, so we have to get ourselves trained, more than the dog!

Polly, good for you for fessing up about the pizza. I used to order one when no one was looking and eat it all, then have horrible heartburn all night and feel terrible the next day--so you have my sympathy. I'm not condoning it, of course! (Ha-ha!) Get on your bike and ride some extra time; it'll make ya feel better.

Corrisann, I was wondering how that meat fast was going to go for you. It looked spartan, but sounds like it was pretty much a success--congrats on the 1 lb. loss! Hope you can get thru your hubby's birthday party OK. Unfortunately, I'm one of those people who get waylaid for days from eating just one piece of cake; that's why I had a stall after 4th of July when we went to a friend's b'day and I ate one piece. I'm not telling anyone I'm dieting anymore; I just don't eat certain things. I just say "not right now," or "no thank you," or go do something and no one even notices what I'm eating. And I love that recommendation to think you're a thin person and eat accordingly! That's great! I think it probably does work. Anyway, have fun with your party! T.

B - egg yolk, lox, cr ch, spinach, tea w/cr
L - salad w/cold cuts
D - going out ???
S - pecans w/cr ch if needed

just a fast hello! dh & ds have ran to do a plumbing errand for my husbands folks. we were ripping & running all day so I've only been able to grab 3 cheese sticks so I doing ok thus far. Am starting to get really hundry though so I am going to eat some protein real quick while they are gone. Fixing Cajun Salmon with green salad & fresh strawberries. Hit a great idea for the cake, stopped at a bakery while out with son & bought 2 slices. They both will have a piece of cake & I can't eat it cause it won't be there
Later--

Good Morning Ladies! My grumpiness is better today, got some exercise yesterday and had a good eating day as well as brisk business. Plus, the scales are hovering around 201 and 202.

Eating like a skinny person is good advice corisann. I'm going to try and start thinking like that.

I heard some good news yesterday. A local resturant, that has been in business here in town for 50 years, is adding a low carb section to their menu, including desserts made with splenda. The owner is a diabetic that has gone low carb. We are going to check it out Saturday night.

Teresa, how was the obedience class? That little dog looks like an angel. We don't have any children so we spoil our pets too. Mainly my store cat Sting Ray. He's a big black fixed Tom that thinks he's a dog. He loves to ride (on the dash), walks on a leash and comes when called. He used to do a few tricks but he's gotten old and now just narrows his eyes at me when I get out the hoop for him to jump through.

Todays Menu
B- coffee w/ cream, bacon
L - roast beef sandwich on low carb whole wheat bread, banana peppers and tomatoes.
S- cheddar cheese
D - steak and salad
S - sf popsicles

corrisan...for my husbands birthday I made a low carb cheesecake made w/ splenda, a small one that didn't have any leftovers after everyone had a slice. That's one of the things I like about low carb...there are a lot of substitutions for the bad things.

Good Morning
Hope everyone is getting ready for the weekend. My dh comes home today so he will keep me busy. So glad everybody is feeling better.

Polly I am glad the shop was busy. That must be wonderfull to be able to offer people what they want or need. How exciting to have a place to go eat that's based on low carb!! Seems that they would be everywhere, but they aren't. I'm so proud of you for exercising too!

Corrisann sounds like you handled the B'Day cake situation really well! I forgot to congratulate you on your pound the other day. Did you cut back on portions or just do the protein thing. I just can't seem to get my scales to move...................

Teresa we had a dog for about 10 years and she got sick about 2 years ago and had to put her to sleep. I still miss her. She was so much apart of the family. She would go fishing with us and sit and watch the pole and when the pole bounced so did her head. People thought it was hilarious!

Todays Menu
B-Vietnamese Pho Soup (I posted recipe on this site)
coffee w/cream
L-shredded, seasoned pork roast taco salad
with picante, sour cream and cheddar cheese
D- not sure yet, depends on husband..........
S-strawberries and a lettuce wrap if needed

You know I just realized that spices have to be counted! I was looking up cilantro and saw all the other things I thought were "free". I had no idea they counted. LOL I don't know why I thought they would be free when nothing else is HA HA
till later, Kathleen

Hi, All--

Polly, Sting Ray sounds like a riot--how old is he? I would enjoy having a cat, but mh is allergic. The nice thing about a poodle is they don't shed and are non-allergenic. But she is high maintenance (like me!). We had fun at the dog class; hubby went too. The trainer was about as hyper as my dog, tho! I'm laughing to see how this all turns out, but it's good socialization for Gena if not much else. We did get her to sit, for about 1 second at a time!

Congrats on your getting closer to onederland! Looks like that pizza wasn't a disaster after all. With your menu today, you could get even closer. It'll happen sooner or later!

I broke 160 this week! Now I'm gonna try to lose a little more by Mon. Going in the direction of the fat fast today, cause that got me down a lb. earlier this week.

Corrisann, you found a solution for the cake situation--how did that work out?

B - lox, cr ch, egg yolk, spinach, tea w/cr
L - seafood burrito w/cr ch & spinach sauce (no tortilla), salad
D - chicken w/mayo, asparagus
S - pate

What kind of dog was she, Kathleen? That's such a sweet, but sad story--don't we just love them! We had a yellow lab for 15 years and had to finally put her down because of congestive heart failure. I grieved for a very long time, and thought I'd never get another dog, but after 3 years I got the impulse and Gena very quickly plopped into our lives! She's hyper, but incredibly sweet and affectionate. We call her our little anti-depressant!

Corrisann, do you have pets?

Kathleen, your menu sounds scrumptious today! Have a good one! T.

Well the dh & ds have gone off to the computer store, thank heavens!! Everything is always more intense when you walk in the door from work to the full blown family situation!! Am going to try enjoying having ds home for these next few weeks but it will be busy. I've gotten so I don't do busy after a day of work real well....am kinda of worried about getting into stress eating...will really have to keep an eye on myself.

Yes Teresa we had a mixed Shepherd for 14yrs & our cat for 17yrs. Have a cat allergy problem now so no more cats. And we were so broken hearted when we had to have our dog put down that my dh said no more pets he's not going thru that again. I wouldn't mind having a small dog that could go with us & not have to worry about who was going to take care of them for you. But it was a very sad experience so I'm not pushing my husband.

160, isn't that grand!! I'd say do the meat fast Sun so that when you weigh in Mon the scale may give you an extra surprise!!!!

Kathleen I did cut back on my portions & actually added up the calories along w/the carbs. When you get your body finally burning like that you really start to loose your appetite. I'd forgotten about that part. I remembered that the cravings went away. So today I was super busy & only got to grab some quick protein every few hours & found that I was ok cause the appetite was hardly there.
I really recommend that you try it for a few days to jump start your system. Didn't plan on doing today too it just worked out that way. Am thinking maybe I'll do it tomorrow too as the guys are suppose to be gone most of the day. Then Sun I could do mainly protein & a small salad. I need to see some #'s move on Monday!! Been thinking about Polly hitting 199 & how grand that would be for her, & remembering how I was at 200 anticipating 199 when I started to wonder with all the exta lc treats....& the rest as they say is history. Sure would like to see that 199 again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The cake slices worked out great cause there wasn't one for me--will certainly remember that trick. And I found out that folks will accept whatever answer you give them Teresa as long as it's not "no I'm dieting". So I think you did the right thing by saying yes I'm getting to that later when I'm not so full. I've very seldom had anyone actually come to me later on & ask if I ever tasted whatever it was. The couple extra pushy folks I know I told I was too full & could I please take some home to enjoy later & they were very happy to make me up a plate to go. Which I took home & pitched in the garage as soon as we walked in the door so I couldn't be tempted. No one ever asked days/weeks later hey how did you like that dish you took home. So as I've thought about all you girls have said re: this subject I started to remember all the things I did in the past that worked. So there really aren't as many excuses as we'd like to blow it. Am trying so hard to not get sucked into the mind game of all this this time around so that it will truly be my lifestlye & stay off!!

Can't tell you gal's how much it's helping me to post & read all your posts!!! Keep 'em coming!!

Today's menu=
B=Coffee w/cream & burger patty w/1oz cheese
L=tuna w/mayo
S=chicken wings
D=steak

Polly I made several cheesecakes last time I did lc & they worked out pretty well. Had a nut crust of some kind. Will have to look that recipe up. Being able to use real butter/cream cheese/sour cream sure made it seem more like the real thing. Splenda makes the lack of sugar not such a nasty taste.
Also to who ever recommended the sf jello w/ whipped topping in place of the pb-n-j, I ate so much of that before that I got really tired of it. But I sure will get some & have it again.

Corrisann, it sounds like you're having a couple of really great days--really motivated. Isn't it interesting how it kind of comes in waves like that! So you have to take advantage when it's there! I'm learning that.

Yeah, and isn't it funny how people react if you say you're dieting, but if you don't they leave you alone! I've started taking a lot of food home from meals out, and ended up throwning it away as soon as I hit the garbage cans, too. I used to feel bad about it, but now I realize it's good; it kept me from eating everything on my plate and having the anxiety that I would be hungry later. By the time I'd get home, I really wouldn't care about the leftovers.

I think this is about the longest I've stayed on a program without going off in a big way--this group is helping me tremendously! You will see onederland again! It's a lifestyle change, not a diet (I know we keep saying that, but you have to repeat it a lot to get it ingrained, right?)

I think I am actually starting to feel better in my body; it seems the last few days I've had less back and shoulder pain, and a bit more energy (although I am not a high energy person); I hope my feet come along! Just think what another 10 lbs. will do!

I am sorry to hear about your shepherd--it's so painful when they have to go, and hard to want another one! The peace is nice, too. But then there's that emptiness sometimes...

Here's to a great weekend for all of us to stay on our plans and make further progress toward getting our new habits down pat! Cheers! T.

Having a pleasant day

Good Afternoon Ladies,
I have had a very relaxing morning. Just lounged around the house and watched TV with dh. Now he's off to work a job for our business and I have the pleasure of doing nothing. I am going to cook and do some laundry but not much more.

Sounds like eveyone is doing well on our wol. That's to be commended. We have all worked hard this week and I know it will pay off on Monday. Teresa sounds like you are really moving along!! Polly is this going to be the week of 199 or 197? I am sure it will be close! I haven't seen 199 in seven long, long years......but I am headed that way. Corrisann you made it through the birthday! Sounds like the cutting back on portions is helping. I have been trying to eat a smaller portion also. Instead of making a huge plate and eating all of it because it is there I am trying a medium portion and waiting a few minutes to see if I really am still hungry. The little tricks we do to make it through.............Corrisann did you call them mind games?? That is what it really is.....I'll about try anything at this point, cause the way I was going was not working at all. I am so glad you guys are out there. It really has made a big difference for me. I feel like I have to be accountable...and that's a good thing. And when we fall we need the help back up.

Donna are you out there?? Hope your convention is going well.
Gramma you need to check in.

Todays Menu
B-Bacon and eggs
coffee w/ cream
L-Lettuce wrap w/shredded pork roast and pico de gallo & sour cream
D-Pecan crusted flounder and salad
S- cheese ball (cream cheese with pastrami and green onion ) w/celery sticks

Corrisann how was the Die hard movie?

By the way Teresa my dog was a Blue Heeler. She was one of a kind.........
I thought about getting another one, but with the grandkids being so little I didn't want to mess with it. (picking up hair, training) But I do miss her.

Kathleen I too am having a nice relaxing day!! Dh & ds are off doing computer manly/bonding things & I am at home running the washer/dryer nonstop while switching between reading & doing some simple household chores. Boy did I need this day!! Next week is going to be really busy.

Today's menu has been all protein & about 8 large strawberries. Am hoping to be done for the day as it's almost 7 & I ate 2 large servings of a roast I cooked earlier in the day. Don't want to get too high a calorie count in for the day as that will cancel any loss.

You are so right Teresa having the strength to keep it together does seem to come in waves....how odd is that!! And we need to ride each wave as long as we can!! And in another 10lbs both our arches & heels are going to be beyond happy!! I feel better. Guess ones body is truly happy to not be struggling thru the constant digestion process we had it in before.

Kathleen the Die Hard movie was fun. Almost tongue-in-cheek with all the blow ups etc that you expect in a Die Hard movie. So if you got fun out of the others you should out of this one too. You could easily wait until you can rent it. Only went to the show cause my friend loved all the D.H. movies--she would have went on opening day if we'd been able to work it out between our 2 work schedules.

I'm feeling hungry, but I really think it must be "mental" hunger not the real thing. Am trying to get a grip on these moments. (like you said about eating a serving & then waiting to see if you need a few more bites Kathleen or as you said Teresa about by the time you got home with the leftovers you didn't even want 'em anymore). Am trying to learn how to tell between the 2--need to be able to read my bodies signals not just keep stuffing in food at every given situation. I find all this much harder than the not eating!!!! LOL I didn't quite realize how much I shoved food into my mouth as the answer to everything till I started to try & stop doing that. Not a good pattern even if I'm shoveling in good foods.

Off to switch the clothes over one last time
corrisann

It is really hard to make the decision not to eat if you're not really truly hungry. I think I have a lot of mental hunger, too. The most hard time is in the evenings after dinner, but I have a plan where I don't have anything except tea after dinner until bedtime when I have a little snack; otherwise I can't sleep. I just tell myself I can't eat until then. So far it's worked.

Glad you guys had a nice relaxing day today. I went to the gym w/mh and then a friend brought her two big poodles over to meet my mini. She was terrified at first but after everybody calmed down we all had fun.

Kathleen, we had a blue heeler once, too, when we lived in the desert. She was an amazingly cagey dog. She figured out how to open the refrigerator with her nose, and would steal food! Like mother, like dog, I guess!

Polly, what are you up to this weekend? T.

Hi ladies,
Where is everyone today.......must be out on the town! Well I hope I did alright, We went to a chinese buffet today and I didn't have any carbs except for veggies and whatevers in the sauce. I tried to stay with the plain stuff, pepper steak, chicken and mushroom. egg drop soup but you really don't know what's in there.................Tomorrow will tell all. I can feel my feet swelling though and that has not been happening for about 2 weeks now.
Tomorrow I have jury duty but will try to leave stats before I go
till the morning, Kathleen

We've been watching the Tour de France bike race all weekend. Today's show lasted 5 hours! Otherwise, just being lazy. We always go to a Greek restaurant for lunch on Sunday. I had my usual salad and Greek meatballs.
Leftover steak, asparagus, and chard for dinner.

Looks like you did great on the Chinese buffet, Kathleen. But my weight often goes up a couple lbs. from the salt. I hope that doesn't happen for you. Drink lots!

Hope you don't have to just sit around all day waiting to see if you're going to get put on a jury. That's what always happens; it's so boring, but a good chance to read--take a good book! T.

Oh Happy Day!!!!!!!

Good morning everyone,
I am sooooooooo delited to to report in. After the chinese buffet I was worried. Not that it can't catch up but I did ok for today.

All time high (2007)- 273
Start date June 18, '07 - 273
Last Monday - 265
Today - 262
Goal - 175 to start
Height - 5'7
Age - 50

3 lbs lost !!!!!!!!!! I can honestly say I met my first 10 lb goal!! Eleven pounds for the first month is a little slow at someone my weight but better than gaining. I am encouraged to stay with it and keep fighting this battle ...........

Todays Menu
B-Ham & cream cheese roll ups, and maybe an egg
coffee w/ cream
L-some type of fast food salad or Subway salad
D-Blackened Chicken Alfredo over Dreamfields linguine pasta(5 carbs per cup)
(I use Ragu Alfredo sauce only 3 carbs per 1/4 cup)
S-coffee w/cream and ?

Hard to say about snack and lunck due to the Jury duty. I am going to be 30 mins from home so there is no option to go there. Thanks for the tip on the book Teresa. I will take one with me. It has been years since I have served on a jury.

Well ladies, here's wishing you the same success at your weigh in!! Till this evening, Kathleen

Monday a.m.

Good Monday, All--

I guess I am happy this a.m. I've taken off 1 1/2 lbs. this week. I was hoping for 2 because I didn't lose anything the previous week, but, I'll take it! I'm happy to not be constantly gaining and feeling bad, like I was before. This week I'm going to see if I can lose another 1 1/2 lbs. then I'll have made up for the week I didn't lose any.

Congratulations, Kathleen! 3 lbs. in a week, and 11 in a month is outstanding! Good going! How's everyone else doing? Donna, are you back yet?

All time high - 175 (l998)

where's everybody

Polly, Corrisann, Donna,

Where are you guys?? Sure do miss ya! Hope nothing bad has happened........
Please come back, Teresa and I neeeeeed you all.

Teresa big woo whooooos!!!!! You loss 11/2 lbs this week. You have been working so hard and its paying off!! Congrats!!! So glad you are feeling better.

Yesterday was not a good day. It started out like one but ended bad. I did not go off plan just ate way more than I wanted. My dh and I were fighting and that always makes for a reason to eat right?? Wrong. But I know that now and yesterday I knew it but could not controll it. So in addition to my meals ( I did not make my planned dinner) I ate 3 ribs, hamburger meat w/ pizza sauce with cheese on a 1/2 of low carb pita (3c)(my netrition order came in) and 2 bunless hot dogs. You would think I didn't appreciate lossing the lbs from last week the way I was eating. I always lose it when I am upset and yesterday was no exception. The only difference was I bid not eat a bag of chips and bowl of dip.......I guess, I, kinda in a funny way, have a small handle on it. Meat. Meat. Meat.................

Well we will see what today brings. I did get held for jury duty and the judge said it should only be a one day trial. So no food show. It is probably better any way. Way to many temptations that I just don't need to deal with right now.

Todays Menu
B-Bacon and eggs
coffee w/cream
L-Subway salad
D-Chicken Alrfedo w/ Dreamfields pasta
S-Strawberries

Hope your day is wonderful. Hope to see the Monday weight ins............even if it is bad. So what , fess up and get back on board the bus..............

start date 6/18/07
last Mon wgt 242
today's wgt 238
goal 160
5'6" 53yrs old

So I am of course happy with the 4lb drop!! Was 237 when I wgt'ed on Sat but like Kathleen did stress eating Sun (which continued thru Mon) BUT I did also do it by using acceptable foods---just waaaayyyy too much of them....but that is much better than I would have done in the past. So we're slowly learning aren't we Kathleen!! I
have always been an emotional eater. But today I'm hoping to be back on track. Can't eat like this for the next month & a half till ds goes off to school LOL!!!

I've done jury duty twice over the years, both for Federal court so the cases were quite interesting. Sorry to hear you are fussing w/dh Kathleen! Having been married for 31yrs I can relate to all the good & bad of marriage! Some days you could just bloody kill 'em & laugh while doing it & then other days you think gee I'd be lost w/o 'em.....

Ok no more chat time, out the door to work. Will check in later today. Polly I'm kinda worried about you not checking in on weigh in day--hope you were just swamped at work selling stacks of books & couldn't fit us in! And good or bad lets have the scoop on the food convention Donna. I love food & to cook so I must admit I would really enjoy a convention like that (aside from my food issues)

Corrisann you too are going to make it!! 4 lbs, that's a big wooooo whoooooo!! Congrats to you. I know you worked hard at it. It looks like the main thing we have to do here is not feel like we are not worth getting back on board when we do have a bad day. Realizing to chalk it up to being human and correcting our behavior has it's merits!!

I also need to change my menu for breakfast
B-1/2 pita bread and pastrami w/mayo and lettuce.
I hope having this stuff in the house does not wreck havoc................

Putting on My Party Hat

I'm baaaaaack! We took off to Cedar Key (1 1/2 hour south) Saturday afternoon and didn't get back till late Sunday night. I did really well eating while we were gone, mostly fresh broiled fish and steamed clams w/ salads. Plus we walked all over the island and went canoeing. Slept late yesterday morning and was busy as soon as I got to work so didnt get to post. But weigh in yesterday morning was exciting! 198!!! I got on and off the scales several times and it came back to 198 every time. I whooped, hollared and did the happy dance. Finally. I'm bracing myself for a slight rise this week back into the 200s because of fluctuations but Im there baby!

All time high (1997) - 250
Start date April 1, '07 - 240
May 1, '07 - 224
June 1, '07 - 215
July 1, '07 - 205
Last Monday - 203
Today - 198
Low for the week - 198
Goal - 140
Height - 5'6
Age - 44

Whooopeeee, Hunkydory!!!
Congratulations, Polly for making it to onederland! That's fabulous, and it happened while you were out enjoying yourself! Sounds like you had really fun weekend, and ate great seafood that helped with the weight loss. It's a major accomplishment when you can travel, eat out, and not gain weight--and you lost, hooray!

Corrisann, congratulations to you on your 4 lb. loss--that's fabulous! Those days of the meat fasts really paid off for you! And you were so busy and dealing with stress all week! Great going!

Kathleen, I totally sympathize with the eating after arguing thing--have been there many times, as I imagine most of us have. The really great thing is that you stuck to acceptible foods, so it's not going to mess up your weight loss in the long run, even if the scale goes up a little temporarily. I hope you feel better, and treat yourself well.

We all had a great week--let's keep up the good work! Gotta go--dog trainer's coming over... T.

Way to go Polly!!!!! Never thought you'd arrive in onderalnd this week!! I can only imagine how you feel!
All that walking & eating healthy sure did the trick!!

Yes I would say we all had a good week & have learned important things pertaining to our new lifestyle!!

Did the typical thing of having a not so good day after a good weigh in day. Nothing major, still having to work on all the mental crap ohla. Don't know if I should try the all protein tomorrow or not. Will have to reach a definite decision before I go to bed--don't want to get up uncertain as that will just open the window to stupidity....LOL!!!

Kathleen I did buy a pkg of the flatouts, or whatever they are called, in the lc version. They are on the back of the bottom shelf of the fridg so I won't see them. And it's working cause I bought them last Wed & had forgotten they were there....ha! Wonder if they will freeze? Don't want to eat one each day & sure don't want to end up throwing some out. First off I hope that they are good, some of those things turn out to be nasty.... hope the extra goodies you ordered don't end up harming you. What we need to do is use them with control (like you girls don't know this...I'm just repeating it to re-enforce it in my mind) or we won't ever make this for the next 20yrs. Course if I was good with the will power I wouldn't be in this mess...LOL!!!

Well ya'll have a good nite & keep those snacks to the healthy kind!!!

HOORAY FOR POLLY

Polly, Polly Polly............I am so jealous and so happy for you at the same time. Onderland........ It sounds like Oz from here but you made it (that is why you are driving the bus) LOL. You give me such inspiration. I know that sounds corny but you do. I know if I keep at it and work hard to correct my bad habits I too will make it there. (And I'm taking this gang with me). The last week or so has been so up & down for you but you said you were patient because you knew you were doing the right thing (in so many words) and now this week, you are in the magical land of Onderland!! I couldn't be more pleased for you. Woooo whooooooo!!!!!!!

Today I came in from jury duty and just wanted chips! What do you guys eat for that?? Any suggestions. I am ok with pork rinds but they don't really hit the spot for me so why bother! Do you know of anything.............. I didn't
have any, thanks to you guys, cause I knew I would have to fess up. LOL

Corrisann, the flatouts keep forever in the fridge!

till tomorrow, Kathleen
