Well the ironing is done
all 10 pieces need to be pressed & then set board up in front of boob tube. Did get some cleaning done today but was working in slow motion so I don't think I burned any calories D Too bad about the pool. I've gotten over to whatever school I was going to & found the door locked w/a not open sign a few times over the years & it is so maddening!! I can tell you I sure did not go home & do some other form of exercise LOL!!Ok I love the balcony idea!!! Y you must go out in those capri's & lite a smoke & sit in this guys lap till you're sure all the nosey ones have had a good looky look!!! I'm sure he would be glad to go along w/the joke. Tat's don't mean drugs. Hanging w/ds might mean drugs. But then again maybe not. He might have just been going w/ds for moral support. Women do that--would men do that for a buddy? Harley I got mine at Kroger's. Some people w/sugar issues say it still raises their #'s some, but others say it didn't at all. I have used Ronzoni's Healthy Harvest w/good results. I will post the salmon recipe. I'm sure you will be on the road all 3 days having a grand time!! My dh gets kind of antsy around the house too & so we end up doing our mini road trips on weekends alot. I've been busy the past few weekends & am the next 2 also...so he's not too happy. This weekend we will be at a friends 10th annual bbq at their house on a lake. Great time is always had. I do have to work the 4th though. Dh is off but I will have the morning w/him. Boy your menu for today sounded so good Ms A! Glad ds is ok. They have to learn by the school of hard knocks just like most of us did...he'll come home ok if he needs to w/ a lesson learned. One he'd never have learned if you could have somehow kept him home w/ you. Hope your dh is being supportive in his comments, not critical. Those kind of comments are so hard to make w/tact & love....seems funny how we all have some kind of clothing hanging somewhere that we want to get back into! I take a snack & my dinner since I am there from 2-11:30 And yes I did want to snack when I got in & was checking my email. Need to have some cottage cheese or deviled eggs or celery w/cream cheese or the natural peanut butter in the fridg & ready. Had thought at first that I would come in tired & go right to bed. This client is Mon's & Fri's. At this point I have Tues & Wed off and told the office I didn't want to fill that slot right now as I want to be able to go to Ohio to my cousin a couple times a month. My other 2 clients are both on Thurs so that's a long day. But it saves gas to do them both on the same day. We are taught to do anything that the visiting nurses show the family to do. Other medical stuff is done by the visiting nurses. So I can check sugar, run their oxygen, put them thru their exercises that the therapists show them etc. Then of course there are showers & trips to the doc's & errands & a load of laundry & a few meals & dishes & walk the dog & on & on. All those chores that they can't do themselves anymore, but if someone will do them they can stay in their own place. I don't do full body transfer & recently the co stopped providing wound care. If you're w/a family a long time you will get so that you stray over the lines sometimes to fill the gaps. Well I guess that was more answer than you wanted Harley. It's a problem to live so far out I'm learning thru you D. Everywhere you go is a real issue--have to plan carefully to be able to do as much as possible each trip when you drive that drive that far. 66,000 acres wow!My eating has been pretty boring so I haven't bothered w/posting but I guess I should. Haven't been in a cooking frame of mind. I did do 30min on the walker today. Meant to do 30 more while watching the game tonight but realized I needed to iron instead & now it's late enough it would keep me up. Each weekend for the whole month has 1 or 2 outings that will require eating....how come we never have a function anymore where we don't have to eat?? LOL Have a this bbq weekend, a wedding, pool party w/my Euchere club, & dinner and a show w/dh's cousins... |

C, at least you can sleep in the day after your late nights, if that is any consolation. I have to tell you....I finally cleared off my dryer the other night (boys have a habit of dumping laundry and items out of their pockets there) and guess what I found? My iron! Apparently I didn't even know it was missing, which shows you how much I use it.
I HATE ironing. My best friend is a bottle of Wrinkle Remover these days.SC, you are killing me!! DON'T be telling me I have to give up the last drops of coffee I am allowing myself. Waaaaahhhhhh!! What is the difference between coffee and tea?? Quick, tell me before I have my coffee in the morning!! Okay, I was just joking when I said I'm going to be limited to water only but I'm seriously wondering if that's what's gonna happen...geesh!! I guess I am the descending vote on the Dreamfields pasta. I won't preach (too much) cuz I tend to do that here (sorry!) but it is definitely way higher in carbs than they claim and I've yet to hear from someone who has lost weight eating it following a low-carb WOE. Same with whole wheat pasta. They are just too high-carbs for a low-carb food plan so be wary if you decide to eat either of those -- I doubt you will see a loss that week. Okay, that's my opinion, sorry, I will shut up now! C, can you bring a veggie tray to these parties?? Or even deviled eggs maybe. Those are my lifesavers when I go places that people are snacking on chips and dip and all that crap. Of course you can't do that at the wedding but if you stick to meat & veggies/salad, you should be okay. Sounds like a fun-filled wkd!! Okay, I really have got to cut down on the yakking here!! Sorry ladies. Good night!! DLast edited by Denise78; 07-01-2008 at 09:39 PM.. |

Well, D, I am going to be your advocate for caffeine! I just saw a study that said the amount of caffeine equivalent to 4-6 cups of coffee per day was given to rats that had MS, and it reduced their symptoms considerably! Of course, they don't know how it affects humans with MS yet, but if you need an excuse not to give up your coffee, here it is!
Caffeine's an analgesic; that's why they put it in some aspirin and some other pain relievers. Plus it is in a lot of weight loss products, so I think it actually helps with weight loss because it ups your metabolism. Green tea might even be the best, if you like to drink tea at all. And we know it definitely helps mental functioning. Do I sound like an addict? I can't handle coffee, but I drink a lot of black tea. Have to drink decaf after 3 p.m. though or it will sometimes interfere with my sleep.Too bad you didn't get to go to the pool, D, after you were feeling so jazzed about it! But you made it to Curves, that's good. I don't know how you do so much driving around and then come home and are not exhausted! Maybe it's the caffeine, eh? ARby's sounds yummy--I used to love their roast beef sandwiches. We don't have any around here, but had them in Indiana. The ranch job your ds has sounds like a dream job; but it's probably a lot harder than it is pleasurable. What great experience he's getting! Y, the capri caper has us all in a twitter! Oh, I used to love getting the Talbots catalogs and drool over the cute clothes. But none of them could ever fit my pear-shaped body. Now, why would wearing the ugly capris aggravate the witch? I am befuddled, and really must know! I believe you have the making for a short film here, what with the addition of ds3's new friend you are to salaciously cuddle whilst wearing the ugly pants, as disgusted neighbors look on. Perhaps you could wear them for your new avatar as well, so we could all see these things! ![]() So glad to hear you were feeling well enough to try a light workout at Curves today! Hope you stay on the mend! Ds's friend sounds like a good guy, making the bed and washing the dishes! Maybe he'll be a good example for ds. Hope bf's growth is benign. How scary--when will he get the results?C, you really have to give your all to your clients! That's a tough job, but I imagine you must find it rewarding. I know you can get very close to some of your clients--it must be very hard to see them in such weakened conditions. You are a saint! Glad you've been able to stay on plan through everything lately. ![]() E, you did another all protein day today--wow! It's hard to do, but I bet this will get the weight down. What were you bidding on ebay? It sounds like fun; I've never done it. Hope the crystal light works better for you than the diet soda! Have you started reading any of those books yet? SC, wow, that's scary about your ds on the catwalk! Thank goodness he's working somewhere else now! It's so great your dh is doing the diet with you (he is, right?) and helps you stay on plan! A size 6 velvet suit definitely sounds like a good motivator! What color is it?I got to the gym today, although I was sore and tired from exercising a lot lately. I felt nauseous afterwards, so I didn't do anymore today, and feel better tonight. Had to take Poodie to Petsmart for her grooming, and dh wanted to come with me to pick her up so he could go to OfficeMax. And he wanted to go eat at this Italian restaurant, so we just made an evening out of it. All I had was some salad and prawns, so that went OK. We rarely go shopping together, so that was kind of fun. I got a bunch of pastel post-its. I know, big woop, I have a sad life when buying office supplies is a big deal. But I was excited this morning because my measurements were down a bit more, and I got into a pair of dark brown pants I haven't able to wear since I bought them two years ago! Here's today's menu:B - egg, sausage, spinach L - salad, w/pastrami, salami, tuna D - small caesar salad, prawns in lemon butter sauce S - string cheese, almonds Have sweet dreams, everyone! T. |

:Whats up with the coffees ladies ?? I drink 2 pots per day (black)during the work week! Is it supposedly no good for your weight loss with the lc eating ? I have managed to get it down to 1/2 caf and 1/2 decaf tho. Same with the famous green tea, always touted for weight loss. I dont own an iron I believe, if it cant be sprayed with wrinkle release, put in the dryer in the drycleaner bag, last resort is hand washing and hanging wet then its toast unless it would be something for special occasion then the real drycleaners
I see you have been hitting the gym consistently T - thats great and good for getting into the brown pants. With all the eating out you do you really do well - I could never eat like that in restaurants. Im still amazed of your ability with the measuring tape. BF should hear from the doc Thurs. I think. Sorry the pool was closed D - maybe you can call before you go next time ( if thats possible) It sounded like you really enjoyed it ! Im sure if we were all at my place we would be arrested in no time flat Speaking of scales D-did you ever buy a new one ? Thanks to you I get on it daily now, same time, stay away in the pm because its always up then.Thats whats in my fridge right now E - Crystal lite - got off all reg. soda and switched to that. Took awhile but now I am ok with it. I thought the egg thing and high choles. was over with and its ok to have 10 eggs per week. ( read that somewhere) Cinnamon is supposedly good for the choles. D and I take the cinn. pills. Sounds like you have a busy 4th planned C, D, and H ! You really seem like a nice caregiver C, you read so many horror stories on this stuff. You should post your boring menus-surely thet cant beat mine for boring. I think the more simple is when I get the best losses. I never bought the heart monitor H - I would be scared of it with my anxiety. Is there a pedometer built into the monitors, I imagine so. So there is trouble in paradise SC - well we are not surprised, good thing he quit that job, did he know why he is getting the silent treatment from the gf? Nothing wrong with blockbuster. Tues. Potion, blueberries and cantelope Salad with hard boiled egg 1 kielbasa and green beans fruiti, few pretzels, skinny cow ice cream cone ( they are good ) exercise-light workout at curves, few callanetics |

Wet, wet, wet.
Hello girls!
![]() Yesterday was actually warm and sunny. We were in Tiverton ("Tivvy") our nearest little town - all the girls were really stripped off in little vests and dresses and it was like summer! Forecast today - colder with rain! You see why the British talk about the weather all the time. You just can't say it's reliable! And today is a big match at Wimbledon. Please, rain, hold off! I've just weighed myself - back down to 9st 11lbs - a stone being 14lbs - that's 137 lbs. Despite the fact that we are supposed to think in kilos, I don't know a single dieter that does. I always feel that stones are an encouraging marker as the pounds go down. It felt wonderful recently to be 9stone something rather than 10 stone something. The weight I would like to be is the weight I was for my second wedding, which was 8 stone 12 lbs (124lbs). Up! Down! Bend! Stretch! Doesn't Denise's pool sound heavenly? Olympic size - warm - not crowded - what bliss. I hung the Land's End white jeans on the front of my wardrobe door as inspiration. I must get back into them! I also looked up "cowgirl boots" online. So many sites! But how come I have got this image of a white pair with leather fringing and rhinestones in my mind? Then I remembered! I spotted a pair worn by Little Lucy in "Dallas" years ago. In the Fifties when I was a small child, there were so many Westerns on television! We literally grew up on them, starting out at the cradle with Champion the Wonder Horse, progressing to Tenderfoot (the hero being my first major crush - but what was that "sarsparilla" he always ordered in the saloon bar? ), then The Virginian, Rawhide and The High Chaparral. I especially loved the horses' saddles with the high pommels which seemed to look armchair comfortable. There are no Westerns to watch now. Little boys my age played endlessly at cowboys and Indians. Not politically correct these days.Do you think this thread should still be called "New and would like a buddy"? I don't feel new any more! I'm really in fits of giggles at the thought of Yellow Hair seducing a young man in full view of the neighbours. You must, you really must. ! Lighting up a *** would be an extra touch of sleaze...I am thinking and hoping like mad for poor little Vonn. Colonoscopies and polypectomies - as I remember, some polyps are easily snatchable with the little grabber gadget they pass up through the scope. Others are evasive and slippery and can't be grabbed, but submit to a little chunk being removed for biopsy. Poor thing! Goodness, Slendercate, what a helpful husband to encourage you back into your size 6 trousersuit - mmm, velvet, lovely! - that's so helpful. When TRoATU has gone to work, I'm going to put on my cycle shorts which he absolutely hates because they are so revealing! But when I've got them on it makes me feel energised to do exercises and put on the Tamla Motown. It makes all the difference getting encouragement from a partner OR friends the other side of the Pond. The difference you have all made to my morale! ![]() Denise, I did laugh at your comments about the stuff that boys dump. It's not so long since I put my son's jeans in the washing machine and then tumbled them.... what was in the pocket but his passport! I read the recipe for pulled pork to my daughter over the phone. A bit like French rillettes she said in a hungry voice. Oh, oh; delicious. Elaine, biker chick, did you, or come to think of the time difference, will you do your three mile walk today? Wow, it's impressive! And are you reading all your new books? Pam the librarian should have the South Beach book for me tomorrow. It has to come from another library and she said she'd ring me when it arrives. So kind. Yesterday's food Mid morning - an egg and a tomato. Lunch - 1oz ripe Brie, 1oz local cheese Exmoor Blue, mixture of salad bits that took ages to eat. Dinner - piece of baked salmon fillet, more salad, bowl of raspberries with 2 tbsps organic plain yoghurt. Bedtime filch from the fridge - 2oz cottage cheese. Right now, reading about coffee inspires me to have a strong mug full. Actually I find coffee acts as a diuretic! Seems to go straight through and then I'm rushing for the loo. Wish, wish I could have a flexi belt! Wonder if you can order them? I expect the postage and packing would be astronomical. OK, when I get a job again, I will save for the fare to America. then I can see and do all these things! ![]() ![]() ![]() Anyway, I'm waffling now! Lots of love to all! PS any hummingbirds? |

I wouldn't worry too much about the coffee. The last I heard a couple of cups was suppose to be GOOD for you! Who really knows? We hear something different everyday! Does anybody really know what time it is?(To quote an old song)The difference in coffee and tea is the amt.of caffeine.Coffee has more and I wish I liked it.It is so much easier to get!Not all of the fast food places have hot tea. T,Where are you from? Sometimes I can almost hear an accent The way you say eh? make me think of my Canadian friends Don't get started on Ebay! It is VERY addictive I buy Kim Anderson collectibles,H-D clothes and now I've discovered H-D jewelry. You have to be careful or somebody might send you a pair of UGLY capris So glad you're getting to the gym.We have to keep moving! Good job at the Italian Restaurant.I know they had to have had garlic bread of some kind.If you resisted that you are a strong WomenYH,you do so good on the Callanetics.I looked it up on the web and I don't know if I could do those at home.I think I would love to go to a class but it's like Yoga as far as me doing it on my own.I went to a step class once and I loved it! I envy the skinny cow ice cream.I used to eat those but I looked at the carb count yesterday and I had to pass.I'll have to stick with the low carb fudge bars.I don't feel comfortable eating all the extra stuff yet.I'm afraid it will lead to old habits.I'm going to stick to mostly protein until I really crave something. Miss A, how tall are you? I would love to weigh 137 and be in your sz clothes! You have to look pretty good! How long ago was the second wedding? You must be about my age.I used to watch all the same shows you talked about. I actually had some black cowgirl boots that I wore with a black leather skirt and vest I love the Motown music also, but I love just about all music.I like to dance around too. My dh is an excellent dancer,he has won a dance contest before! When we go out I have to have a few drinks befor I'll get up on the floor I do my 3mile walk everyday that it's not raining and then I do a 3mile video. When I drive it,I think This IS a long way!SC, I guess I'm going to have to get something too small for inspiration. It seems like you all have something.I got rid of everything a few months ago.Come to think of it,all I have to do is put on my bathing suit You don't have very far to go so just keep up the good work. |

Well -
Well Elaine, I reckon we must be about the same age!
Fancy you doing well at a step class! I tried, and kept tripping over the step... oh dear! I'm five foot, three and a vital three quarters. The trouble with me and dancing is that I'm not too good at it. I spent my young years until I was 18 at a very strict C of E boarding school; missed out on going out and dancing - finally got to hold hands age 18! I'd love to learn Latino dancing - you know? tango, salsa? but I'd really need a partner with r-h-y-t-h-m! I got married for the first time to a newly qualified Dr when I was 25. I spruced up the clothes and looks of that scruffy ex-medical student - he then looked so good that women were all over him and he certainly didn't resist! He said he'd changed his mind about being married after 18 months and walked out. Talk about shooting myself in the foot! Married to TRoATU for 26 years now. Can hardly believe it. How about you??? |

D,where are you this morning? I've already been for my walk
It never ceases to amaze me at how much trash is on the side of the road What ever happened tp "Keep America Beautiful"? People throwing trash out of their car does not keep them from being trashy people Does that make sense? I guess they think if they have a clean car they are clean people![]() |

Holy Moly
My what a lot of posts we have!! Well good morning to everyone! I was just thinking about how many posts I wrote yesterday and feeling a tad bit at the thought that I can't shut up but looks like maybe it was contagious and now I don't feel so bad afterall!! ![]() Well I think you're right about renaming this thread Miss A. YH and I have been chatting about doing just that. Although I don't think you can rename a thread so we are going to create a new one, just for US. (Meaning all of us currently here in this group). We think it's more of an intimate chat when you keep it to a smaller group versus a larger one and it does get distracting when you have lots of new ppl pop in for just one or two posts, never to be heard from again. We like the mix we have now, seems the 7 of us get along grand. So what do you say gals? Care to join us in our new home?? The new thread is called....Circle of Seven....and you can find it in the Low Carb Friends forum under Lowcarbfriends Pen Pals. Here is the link: Click here: Circle of Seven - Low Carb Friends Okay ladies hope to see you there! ![]() Last edited by Denise78; 07-02-2008 at 08:36 AM.. |

Ok I am going over...but I must admit it will feel odd....
I've been at this thread since it started several years back. It got me thru my first round of wgt lose. Several lost lots of lbs & I always wonder where they are & if they've kept it off. Will the posts from the new thread show up in my emails too? Can't remember how that works |
