Good Morning Everybody, I just love signing on and seeing new posts. My internet was down yesterday afternoon so I couldn't get back .
T, yes we have so much stuff in this Rv you wouldn't believe. It's not really crowded though because of all the room in the back when the bikes not in.We have alot of cabinet space.Would you believe we have over 500 Cd's? The reason I know this is because I had to write down all the Titles so I could remember what we had.I was starting to buy duplicates My dh and I are both BIG music people and we like all types.I had older brothers so I go back to the 50's.My dh is mostly into Classis Rock buthe will listen to all my stuff. He can't stand Disco and I love the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack. Before I retired we would have our own little party on Friday nights. We would load up the CD player(It holds 50 Cds) Hit Shuffle so it would play ramdomly,Light some candles, have a couple of drinks and slow dance.I loved that.My dh is pretty romantic I think you need to keep the romance going. I'm so glad you were able to get in a nice walkD,How did your day go? It was so nice to hear of someone who still hangs up laundry! It's great to live in the country.I love it.Wide open spaces.I could never live somewhere that tells you what you can and can't do in your neighborhood. My dd1 can't even HAVE a clothesline in hers! Thats just un- American .Someone telling you what you can have on your own property ![]() A,so sorry about the slip up,but we've all been there.I have had the same problem many times especially with cashews! They are addictive.Just put it in the past and keep going. We will win this battle, one day at a time We are here for you!YH,Did you have a nice day Shopping with your son at the Mall? I hope that went well. At the very least you got in some walking Sometimes it hard to be a Mom but usually it gets better.I love those grandkids. I think I'm trying to get a cold,I got up and took some medicine about 12:30 last night but that seemed to keep me awake.Rough night.I don't really feel like walking this morning but I will. It's easier when you keep it up![]() SC, How cool to be taking sing lessons.I'n not sure what you meant by Classical.Give me an example. How's your diet going? As soon as I said I don't get hungry eating protein I was hungry all day yesterday! |

Good morning ladies!
![]() Well Miss A, it happens to the best of us! Don't beat yourself up about it. Just realize the mistake you made and get right back on track. I think the problem a lot of ppl have is that when they fall off their eating plan, they get defeated and stay off. Don't do that! Just consider it one of those bumps in the road and now you are over it and can continue on smoothly!! I've had to give up the nuts because they are a "danger" food for me. I can't seem to keep it to a small portion so it's easier if I don't eat them at all. Some ppl portion them into individual size baggies and that way you aren't dipping into the larger bag or container. Maybe it would help if you did that??YH, where are you?? I am so disappointed not to have a post from you this morning? Dare I think you slept the night thru? Or possibly it's just that s3 had the computer in bed with him?? (Probably the latter). Anyway, I hope you'll be able to pop on from work today. I miss you!! Are you going to Curves today? Friend called me last night. I think she feels guilty and may go with me tomorrow. If not, I'm going to have to go alone since I've paid my dues so I may as well use it. I didn't do too bad with my eating yesterday as far as what I ate, but my portions were off on the vegetables and I ended up eating too many so I had a higher carb count at the end of the day than I wanted. (Sad when eating too many veggies is considered bad.) But the calories came in under 1400 so I will just have to be a little stricter today. Too much eggplant and even the 1/2 apple was too high in carbs for me. I should have reached for the strawberries instead -- will have to remember that when I am craving fruit today. B-1 hardboiled egg, coffee L-1 can white chicken breast, lc pita S-1/2 apple, 1/4 cup cauliflower D-ground beef, cabbage, eggplant, 4 grape tomatoes S-1 hardboiled egg I was wondering where you were yesterday, E. You've been keeping me company during the day while YH and C were at work and boy, it was pretty lonely yesterday afternoon talking to myself here. Sorry to hear you are coming down with a cold. I hate those summer colds! Is your picture in your RV? Looks very spacious to me if it is!! When are you having your yard sale? When I lived in NH, my friends and I used to hold yard sales all the time, back in those lean days when the kids were babies and we needed the extra $$, boy I would sell the shirt off my husband's back. So what did you eat as protein all day long? At least you are back on carbs today, aren't you??C, if you peek in before you go..... Bye and have a good trip! Lots of love and prayers for you and your cousin. ![]() T, I only wish the mussels were fresh!! We used to eat them fresh all the time back East when I lived in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Now I have to be happy with frozen ones. Dh is a really awesome cook though and he steams them and makes them with a garlic and white wine sauce that is to die for. My family loves 'em!! My friend and I share the same dr so sometimes I "tattle" on her. She just laughs when I do it, but the dr gets so mad at her. She just eats whatever she wants and sometimes doesn't check her sugar levels for months and months. She is in denial big-time and I keep telling her she has got to get serious about this. She won't check her levels if she's not eating well and figures what she doesn't know, won't hurt her. It about kills me because I know how serious Diabetes can get and she just doesn't care. You can't help ppl that don't want to help themselves, I guess.Oh T, I dreamt of Greek food last night, thank you very much!! It was delicious!! ![]() Okay, enough rambling. Someone else's turn now. But you know I won't be able to keep quiet for long!! ![]() Have a great day! D |

Nice to read all the posts today and hello to all ! No such luck on the sleeping thru the nite just could not get to the computer. Went with S3 to the body shop and they said about a week - I hope not. The we went shopping and he got some much needed shorts, etc. Now the toilet clogs up in the bathroom he uses and will try and work on that tonite, buy a diff. style plunger and maybe a toilet snake. BF going ballistic about a stupid clogged toilet and insists I call a plumber and I pay today and said he is locking our bedroom door so S3 cant use the can in there, cmonnnn! S3 justed called and said if he locks him out he will bust door down. Here I am at work and have to listen to this crap. I am really fed up. Sorry for the rant. Glad you popped in C to say hello and you did not pig out on the weekend. I love Macadamia nuts Miss A, I went to a macdamia nut factory in Hawaii and they were so good. Happens to all of us !!! I got a big fine once when I first moved to Fl. for hanging clothes up outside E ! I like Classic Rock too, quite a bit. I sold a bunch of junk on ebay but after all said and done it was not worth my time and effort. I stay away from the chocolate T, I love dark chocolate but would eat way too much. How is the AC going D ? I hope you make it to Curves today, I will try to go but may have to deal with plumber as I just got another call
I did pretty good yesterday.am-grapefruit and raspberries lunch-slimfast dinner- frozen entree ( 250 cal/20 fat ) Italian sausage for guys snacks-fruiti, 2 pretzel rods Exercise - 35 laps in pool and some callanetics. |

What the heck is going on at your house YH that you cannot get some peace and quiet at work??!!
Oh that would drive me completely nuts. I would try to fix the toilet on my own first before calling a plumber. Yikes, those guys get big bucks and who needs yet another huge bill??!! If you don't have a snake, try a wire coat hanger. Or maybe some Drano? Sorry you are going thru all this. I think at this point bf is going to complain about anything that s3 does because they are at odds with each other. Might be time to invest in some earplugs!! Hope s3's car gets fixed before a week is up. Did he get a rental? My ex-husb wouldn't allow me to have a clothesline when we were married. He thought it looked terrible in the yard. Our yard now is very secluded and no one can see my line but I could care less. I don't hang underwear, just shirts and jeans, things like that. I just love the smell of laundry dried on the line. I think I will stay home today and save Curves for tomorrow. We are leaving here at 4 pm to go to Scottsbluff, 2 hours away, to pick up my glasses and contacs and I need to get my feet up before then. The hot weather is making me swell terribly the last couple of days. Ds2 is getting out of work early so he can get his glasses too. He's decided against contacs since the trial pr they gave him has been hurting all week. The eye dr wants to dilate my eyes while we're there. I am counting on dh to do a majority of the shopping because I won't be able to see clearly. Not only do I have to make a list, but I have to describe the colors of the pkgs since dh doesn't read labels, just grabs things off shelves and always comes home with the wrong stuff. Men!! I am eagerly awaiting the a/c guy. Don't know that he's coming today but dh told me the guy said "early" in the week. Well it's Tues and that's early in the week to me. Wed would be mid-week and Thurs & Fri would be later in the week. I hope the a/c guy shares my same philosophy about what early in the week means! ![]() D |

Whew! 3 miles done.I don't think that hill is getting any smaller
But at least I feel like I've accomplished something if I get that done first thing.Yesterday on my protein day I had B- Sausage Link and 1 egg S-deviled eggs(4 total, for 2 snacks)L-bakedchicken,and I wasn't real hungry for Dinner so I had 2 plain hotdogs. YH, I am so sorry You have to deal with so much crap I guess your son can't have a job while he is going through his detox. I'm sure things will lighten up when he's out of the house more It's rough on everyone.Way to go on the swimming![]() D, It's probably a good thing to postpone Curves until tomorrow. It's almost a full day to your Walmart.I've never had my eyes checked and I know I need to.I wear cheap glasses to read and their fine but my G-ma had Glaucoma so I need to check on that.I'm with you on the A/C it should be soon if he said beginning of the wk.Have you heard anything else about Vonn? I hope he is continuing to improve Yes the picture Itook was inside the RV.I only had 10 seconds on the timer and thats why it looks kinda dorky I kept trying to get the dog and cat in and running back and forth so I finally gave up and said the hell with it Maybe I can get dh to take an outside picture soon.If your curious about my rv you can go on forestriver.com and click on Wolfpack and see the exact one I have. It's the biggest one with the sliding glass doors. We love it,it is a lot bigger than our old one and if you're going to live in one you need to get the biggest one you can pull. |

Wow E, three miles?? You go girl!!!
That is awesome. I think you and YH will get the prize for the most exercise!! ![]() I went to that website. You have a gorgeous rv. ![]() Vonn is doing better, thanks for asking. They put some pictures up on his website. They removed the shunt from his head. He's awake more. The swelling is going down and he's getting back his natural color, although still a little yellow. His uncle was promoted to a wheelchair yesterday and got to visit little Vonn but today, the uncle is pretty wore out so I think they are sticking to their own rooms for a little bit. Vonn will probably be in the hospital another couple of weeks but then he and his mom will have to stay in Omaha for a few months as they continue to monitor his progress. I'm thinking there must be a hospice or rehab center that they stay in since the hospital is a good 5-6 hours from where they live and I can't imagine staying that long in a hotel. It is so sunny and beautiful today. I walked around my yard for a little bit. My rose bush has 25 hot pink roses in full bloom with tons more buds ready to burst open. Absolutely gorgeous. Dh's vegetable garden is starting to flourish. Apparently the bunny he shot was the only one that liked to eat the plants -- either that or the others know the consequences and are staying away! We've seen the other bunnies and they are happy to munch on the grass, which we don't mind at all, so dh has put away his gun for now, whew. ![]() I said a little prayer over Hannah's grave. It was the first time I went to it since we buried her, I just couldn't bring myself to go there before now. Dh is already talking about getting another dog but I told him I am not ready yet, it's just too soon. ![]() The a/c guy has not shown up yet but I'm keeping my fingers crossed!! I about died cooking in the heat last night. I think tonight we will stop at a drive-thru on the way to Wal-Mart's vision center. I'll probably just get a salad or maybe a burger without the bun.I am quite chatty today -- sorry about that! Not used to staying home alone this many days in a row and I think E's chatting is contagious!! Or maybe it is MY blabbing that is egging her on???!!! ![]() D |

Hey all! I'd love to buddy up with you guys too! So today I had two cups of black coffee, my probiotic pills (ugh), and 4 pieces of bacon and 4 eggs for breaksfast...now I'm deciding whether or not go for a 4.0 speed three mile walk around my neighborhood, or go to the gym where all the gossip is (double ugh)...what is everyone else doing for a workout today?

D, I'm so jealous of your roses.I always wanted to have a rose garden with alot of different colors and have them in my house all the time! Right now we have to stay in one campground until the job is finished and then we move to the next job.We will probably be here until The middle of Nov.I'm glad the other bunnies took the hint and are leaving the garden alone.Theres nothing better than fresh veggie's. I'm so glad Vonn and his uncle are doing well. Will keep in prayers. I know it's still hard to be without Hannah. Our pets become such a part of our life. You will know when it's time to welcome
a new one. Lolly hang in there,it will happen.Welcome to you too Katie. |

Hi, y'all,
to Lolly & Katie!DH was using the computer till very late yesterday, so I couldn't post. Report or somethiing. C, so glad to see you back. You are right about "toe head". My Mom's side of the family had the same hair color when they were young. Be careful on the trip, you and your cousin are in my prayers. Ok, classical voice: another name is Operatic style. My DH is a first tenor and for his hobby, he sings in a big city Symphony Chorus that backs up the Symphony. He has been a member for 30 years. He started singing young in his early teens, he wishes he had tried to become a Opera singer. The chorus group is all voluteer, but most are professional quality, they all have to re-adition each year. As for me, I have sung all my life, started in my late teens, took voice in college as classical singing has been great for my allergies/asthma. (all that deep breathing, etc). We both sing in our church choir. When we were first married, we made extra money by singing at weddings, funerals, etc. I guess I still have the delusion I will gather my courage someday and try out for the Symphony Chorus. Maybe when I lose the rest of my weight. Well, didn't mean to go on and on..... T, wow, sounds so cool to be near the beach. I know about the sun. DH & I both have to advoid the sun. Thanks for the compliement on the menus. I try not to be in a rut. E, the pool sounds like such fun. Our grown son, who used to swim competively, taught me how to swim as an adult. Haven't been in years since we moved from near a Natatorium. Congrats, three miles! YH, God bless you! Can't men and boys act like kids sometimes? Isn't Callanetics great? If I was really disciplined, I'd do it daily and look great faster. D, So glad Vonn is better. Glad you were able to visit Hannah's grave. You will know when it is time to get another. today's menu: b-whey protein shake powder in hood lc chocolate milk w/fiber s-cheddar cheese, oz, few tiny dill pickles l-homemade pimento cheese on tossed green salad, sf jello, v8 juice, cup of watermelon d- chicken, tossed green salad w/ lc dressing, more left over watermelon bedtime-(planned) glass of hood lc milk Well, started exercising again. This am it was Body Flex aerobic/toning tape, now I am off to do Quick Callanetics for the stomach. Still hoping to be a size smaller by my b'day. So, glad to have found y'all. Just got in from dh's birthday dinner. He wanted to go down to the south bay to a French restaurant. It was fun. An old-fashioned place with classic French country cooking. I had one crab cake, some French onion soup (didn't eat the bread), sole in lemon butter caper sauce, sauteed zucchini, and I did have one profiterole with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Hadn't had dessert in so long, it was so wonderful! Oops! But the amazing thing is that this did not make my sugar go up at all! I think because it was a large serving of fish and the sauce was very light. The protein must have balanced what few carbs I did have. I gave him a trilogy of foreign film dvds. After all the family things we went to this month, he did not want to have a big celebration this time. So it was just the two of us, but all his kids and several friends called him today, so it's been a nice day for him.
![]() I went to the gym again today. And, woo-hoo! I started wearing a size smaller undies! So I know I have made some progress. I get my hair done tomorrow which is on the way to the gym, so am planning to go again. I'm exercising a little harder, and I think it's been helping. Hope I can keep the eating under control for awhile now. We don't have any more dinners out or trips planned for the month of July, so I hope to go down a size this month. Congrats, Y, on doing 35 laps again! Swimming burns so many calories, but it always makes me so hungry I eat more. Gosh, Y, you didn't need a toilet going out with all the tension between ds and bf! Hope that got resolved quick! Was the mac nut factory you went to on the Big Island? We went to one there, too. I just love Hawaii, and want to go back, but dh does not want to leave the dog! ![]() D, glad you got over the bunny problem! Maybe dh was right about leaving a message for the varmints, awful as it was! Your roses sound lovely. Is it a climbing rosebush? We have a lot of those in this area--I just love them. Sure hope the ac guy came today; you've suffered enough! Your friend is lucky she has no side effects from her diabetes--YET! I suppose in some sense I am lucky that I have the neuropathy--it's a constant reminder that I have to eat healthy. But she could have heart disease and not know it until too late! Hope she shapes up, if not for her own sake, then for yours! ![]() E, congrats on going another 3 miles even though you didn't feel like it! Sounds like you and your dh have a wonderful time dancing--how romantic! What do you get to eat today?SC, how wonderful to have a good voice! It must be so much fun to sing in a choir, especially when your dh can do it with you. I can't sing, but enjoy opera. We used to go to the San Francisco opera house. My favorites were always the Mozart operas. Hated Verdi--too morose, the endings were always the same. When is your birthday that you want to get down a size for? Congrats on getting back to exercising! Well, Miss A a package of cashews downed is not going to hurt you too much; but I don't know about the wine! But after that, who cares, eh? You must have gotten too hungry. Next time just put them away in the glove box. ![]() Have a good night, everyone, and a good day tomorrow! T. |

No Autographs Please
Please ladies, form a line behind me. You all can look back on this day and say, "I knew D when she was just a big fat nobody and now she's a famous skinny movie star!!!"
My gym called me tonight to say a newspaper is doing a story on them and they want to interview ME for it, as I've lost so much weight and inches since I've joined there. How funny is that?!! Imagine wanting to interview this fat old lady!! ![]() Anyway, I am so frustrated. We drove 2 hours to WalMart's vision center tonight. They guaranteed that my contacts would be in and I said several times that I didn't want to make that drive unless they were and they assured me that they'd be there. Well guess what? They never ordered them and they don't have them in stock. They said they would order them and mail them to me but in the meantime, I have one pr left that are getting old and I hope one of them doesn't rip! Such inefficiency!!So...I got my eyes dilated and that checked out fine and they gave me my new glasses, which were a little blurry but I contributed that to my eyes being dilated. Nope. It's several hours later and I cannot even wear my new glasses at the computer. It's all blurry yet I can see fine if I put my old glasses on. Ugh. So now I have to make another 4 hour roundtrip drive to return them or have the prescription corrected. So much for going to WalMart to save some $$. ![]() I read a lot of posts on the other boards in this forum today. I think I'm going to take a break from the soy for awhile. I read some pretty bad things about it, plus the fact that it makes some ppl stall on their weight loss. I had a little stall for a couple of weeks and I've been trying to figure out what it was, the Splenda or sugar-free candies. Maybe it is the soy burgers, soy p'nut butter, etc. We'll see if it makes a difference this week if I cut it out. ![]() While reading some of those posts, I cannot believe the amount of fats some ppl consume while dieting and go on and on about how healthy that all is. (Not downing anyone's WOE, whatever works for you is great). But it does sound scary. One person said they eat 1/2 a lb of bacon every single day!! I don't care how much weight you lose doing that, that CANNOT be healthy!!! My dr does not agree with that line of thinking so I am keeping to my low-carb, low-fat foods. No heavy creams, sauces or fatty meats and oils for me!! I can't believe you had dessert and your sugars didn't go up, T. Wow, lucky you! My sugars are so sensitive, geez just eating half an apple made them go up 50 pts. Sounds like you had a nice dinner with dh. Pls wish him a from me!! Congrats on getting into smaller undies!! You sexy thing, you!! ![]() SC, sounds like you and dh are a singing duo. I'm not into opera music but I bet you both have beautiful voices. Nice that you have that in common with each other. Did you sing like that before you met and married him??E, boy my post to you about the rv was really messed up. Meant to write that I want the kind that you tow the vehicle behind the rv and dh wants the kind that you tow the rv behind the vehicle. But I'm guessing you figured out my confusion. The rosebush is an old one that used to be dh's mother's before she passed away. It is getting pretty big so I bought a white trellis and am training it to climb upwards instead of sprawling out all over the place. I love flowers, they just make a yard look so pretty and sunshiney. I've got some flowers in pots on my deck too. I bet you could do that -- get one of those miniature rosebushes and keep it in a pot. That would look really pretty by your front door.Well YH, what's the verdict on the toilet? Was everything quiet on the homefront when you got out of work or was there a war going on?? Now I am going to worry if you survived the battle or not!! ![]() Dh and ds2 decided they wanted Chinese for supper. So much for salad. It probably wasn't a good choice with the saltiness but I kept it to boneless, unbreaded chicken and beef & broccoli, so I guess it could have been worse. I would have loved some lo mein, crab rangoons or even an egg roll, but I controlled myself. ![]() Today's menu: B-hardboiled egg, coffee S-1/2 cup cottage cheese, 4 strawberries, 10 blueberries L-2 hamburger patties, 1/4 cup asparagus D-chicken, beef & broccoli Water-100+ oz (lost count but drank at least this much today) ![]() Well, it is getting late and I need to get my poor swollen feet up. Good night gals! DLast edited by Denise78; 06-24-2008 at 11:50 PM.. |

Wow D, you are famous, watch out or you will be in one of those before and after pics in the National Enquirer, is your pic going to be in the paper at this point ? Sounds about right on the glasses/contacts ordeal. I have the computer right in my face because of the same problem. Sounds like you and dh had a nice bd dinner T. Keep up with the exercise-its paying off for you now. The nut factory-cant remember as I went to all the islands and saw so much-I would love to go back. SC-you need to put your stats up again so we can see how much weight your losing. Callanetics is the best ! I swear by it for inches. E - I went to the site and checked out your camper, really nice. So when you dont have the bikes in then you got the porch deal, correct ? I envy your lifestyle.
So the plumber ended up coming here yesterday afternoon so thats over ! Today I have to play hookey again as S3 has the supervision appt. ( another money once a month deal for dui ) so I will only go to work for a couple hrs. since im up anyway. Public transportation is horrible here. Good thing I have lots of sick and vac. time on the books. And even if you show up for one hour at work its not considered an occurence which is something they track for sick time abusers and then you need a dr. note after 5 times. So many people come to work sick for an hr. so they dont get the strike, so stupid and have to play the game. I have a big time lapse then and then hair appt. Hopefully ill go in the pool if no rain. am-grapefruit and raspberries lunch-salad w 1 babybel and 1 sl. turkey breast dinner-steak and cauliflower snacks-fruiti, pretzels, quaker cakes, too many |

E, did you lose the entire internet or just the post? I notice (and I think it's happened to YH too) that if I take too long typing a post, I lose it all before I get to submit it. So when I am taking a long time or when I am typing a long post now, I stop midway and copy and paste it into an email to myself. That way, if I lose it, I don't lose the entire thing. Sounds dumb but it does work. Sorry you lost everything. I know how frustrating that can be!! Especially to those of us who are sitting here and wondering what you wrote!

Friend just called and we are going to Curves this morning. Woo-hoo!!
I miss going there and I need to get back to exercising. She says she cannot go to the pool with me this week but maybe next week. The other gals that said they might go with me are not available this week either. Geesh. I may be able to wear my new bathing suit at Christmas at the rate I'm going!!!No a/c man yet. I am dying. Thank goodness for these middle of the night rains, at least it's cooling things off. But the late afternoons are killers here. I bought a rotisserie chicken for tonight's supper. Think that will be refreshing -- cold chicken and salad. Yum. Well I better go get dressed. My friend is one of those types that is either an hour early or an hour late -- you never know with her! I probably shouldn't have taken my water pill this morning. Guess I will be jiggling at the gym!! ![]() Have a great day ladies!! D |

YH,Glad you got the john fixed. You lead such a stressful life its a wonder you can stay on track at all.I'm sure you want to run away sometime.I used to when my kids were small.I never got any time for just me. T, what a nice dinner you had with dh.I'm sure that little bit of dessert didn't hurt much.We have to enjoy life some or whats the point of living? How long have you and dh been married? Do you have any kids together? I can tell you are a romantic like me. C, I hope you are having a good time, but you're probably ready to stay put for awhile. In 3 months I flew from Wy to ATL.and back twice. Chicago to ATL, ATL. to NYC.Back to ATL. and home to Chicago.I was suppose to fly to lexington KY.this wk for a family reunion but I told my Bro. I just wanted to be home for awhile. |

D, I'm not as computer savvy as you are I don't know how to copy and paste and all that neat stuff. I guess I need to take a course or something. What kind of water pill do you take? My Dr.had me on hydrochlorot but I just ran out and she won't call me in one.She wants that money for an office visit.I have water on one of my knees and sometimes I have High blood pressure(only when I'm in her office)At W-M and every other machine I have wonderful BP. I looked for something I could get a W-M but all they have is caffeine. I have to fly to ATl.the end of Aug.and then it will be time for my check-up .I think I can go that long. I'm so glad you are getting to Curves today. It's raining here today and I was so aggravated after I lost my post, took the dog out and he wouldn't even poop, that it was a bad day and I wouldn't do anything. Then I got back and read your post and you had me laughing and I figured if you are going to exercise so will I. I will do an indoor walking video. Thanks for keeping me motivated

Just killing time here waiting on my friend to show up....
My dr prescribes Lasix for me. I'm hoping it's just that I weigh so darn much but my feet and legs swell terribly, especially if I am sitting in one position too long, like at the computer or on a long drive. If I do a lot of standing or walking, they swell too. Unfortunately, I cannot spend my days in bed with my feet up, so he has me on the water pills for now. I never had this problem when I weighed in the low 200's or lower, so I'm hoping another 50 lbs and I won't have the swelling anymore. I did buy some over-the-counter diuretics because sometimes late at night my feet are swollen but I don't want to take one of my strong prescription pills. The over-the-counter ones help me get thru the night without waking me up every 5 min to pee.Glad you're going to get some exercise in even tho it's raining, E. YH is the big motivator when it comes to exercise, that's for sure. She's always swimming laps, going to Curves or doing Callanetics. But I think I do pretty good if I can get at least 2 days a week in at Curves. Anymore exercise than that and my MS acts up. For me, 2 days a week is better than none. I really would like to get to that pool though. I'm thinking the swimming would be low-impact plus even treading water would be good exercise for me.I've got a note taped to the door for the a/c guy to let himself in, if he even dares show up today! He's the only HVAC guy for 60 miles and he's in business by himself, so he keeps pretty busy. To copy and paste, just use your mouse to highlight what you want copied and then go into Edit (which should be at the top of your computer in the tool bar) and hit Copy. Open up a new email, go back to Edit and hit Paste. Then send the email to yourself. Voila!! My dh is the computer whiz but I've been on computers or word processors of some kind for most of my adult life, plus I have 2 sons who are computer geniuses, so if I don't know how to do it, luckily one of them does! Okay, off to Curves. Catch ya later gals!! D |

Home again. Geesh, sure is lonely when I can go out for the day and come back to find the last post is still mine.
![]() So, I got interviewed today. When the owner of Curves saw me come in, she called the newspaper gal, who came out and sat with me for about 20-30 min asking all kinds of questions. She took 2 pages of notes and took my picture (had my friend get in there with me). Actually she took several pictures and we told her which one she was allowed to use. She asked me if my friend and I were the same age. I told her considering that my friend is SIXTEEN yrs older than me, I don't know whether my friend should be complimented that she looks younger than she really is, or I should be insulted that I look older than I really am. ![]() Anyway, it seemed like a good interview and I will be curious to see the article when it comes out.Afterwards we went out for salads and then stopped at the little grocery store and then on home. I was hoping the a/c guy had been here but darnit, no he hasn't been. So where is everyone today??? D |

Glad you did the video H - great going - you have been really good since you joined us gals. Well D - if your friend looks 16 yrs. younger I want to know her secret other than being overweight. I do look older since I dumped a considerable amount. Glad you got to Curves - maybe we can read the article online when it happens or you could post it somehow. I would love that. Took s3 to appt. today, went to grocery store while he was there, picked him up and he needed tennis shoes, one pr. somehow turned into 5 pr. but there was a super clearance at Sports Authority. Then I went in the pool and did 40 laps with classic rock blasting - beat my record and really pushed myself those last five laps. Just back from hairdresser - just roots and trim. Have a plain meatloaf in the oven and will make some veggies. Then im going to rest and watch a dvd - BF going to friend's funeral tonite. Ill see if I can make it a whole day at work Thurs. - Im liking this playing hookey stuff

D, I'm with you.I kept checking back waiting for some of our gang, and nothing.I figured everyone is sick of hearing about me so I was waiting until later. I guess since we don't work we have alot more time on our hands
I hope we get to read about you're newspaper article. It is so cool How old was the interviewer? I ask because the younger crowd have no clue about ages. Maybe it boosted your friends ego a little bit and it will help her get motivated At least you got to workout.I know you are roasting. That's one drawback of small town living. Not enough repairmen to go around ![]() Yh, You are the exercise queen! I don't know how you do all those laps! It was so sad to hear about your bf friend. So young but it happens everyday. We just never knowwhat life holds in store for us. Thats why we shouldn't sweat the small stuff Meatloafsounds good.I don't know what I'm having yet. I had a big salad and baked chicken for lunch and some strawberries for snack. I threw out the watermelon because a serving is a 1/2 cup. Can you imagine eating a 1/2 cup of watermelon.Whats the point.I might as well suck on a watermelon jolly rancher ![]() |

I have a/c!!! Woo-hoo!!
Apparently, the a/c guy was here YESTERDAY while we were at the eye dr's and we didn't even know it. I shudder to think what my house looked like. He called dh today to tell him it's a $250 part that needs replacing and so dh ordered it. The a/c guy said dh should be able to replace it himself, thereby saving more $$ by not having to hire the a/c guy to put it in. He also told dh how to force the a/c on for now, till the part comes in. Whew!! I actually fell asleep this afternoon, it was so hot in here. Dh came home and got the a/c going while I was snoozing and it was a nice surprise to wake up to cool air coming in. Gotta love that guy! ![]() Oh E, if these ppl aren't sick of my million and one posts, they aren't going to get sick of yours! (Wait...maybe they are sick of hearing from me and I just haven't realized it yet??!!) I like to hear of the weight loss successes....exercise, menus, any new tips or suggestions....or just how your day is going so far. I find it very motivating, it helps to keep me on track thru-out the day. I know YH checks the boards from work when she isn't off playing hookey! The gal from the newspaper was young, maybe in her 20's. She asked how old we were and then proceeded to write it down. I said, "Oh that's okay if you want to put my age in the paper but you really need to ask ladies that first -- some might not be as okay about it as me!!" Yep, she was just a youngster! ![]() Wow 40 laps -- that is awesome, YH!! I can't even imagine. You must have been exhausted afterwards. Glad you had time to get your hair done too. Sorry about bf's friend. That is very sad for someone so young. And yep, you do need to put in at least one full day of work this week!! ![]() Elaine, I watermelon too but it raises my sugars SO much. I'm better off with strawberries also. In fact, your post made me happy I had some in my refrig since you gave me a craving for them! I tossed a salad of green leafy lettuce, rotisserie chicken, cucumbers, strawberries and blueberries together. Perfect cool supper to eat in this hot weather and mmmm it was yummy!!Today's menu: B-hardboiled egg, coffee L-salad w/diced chicken in it S-rotisserie chicken D-salad w/chicken and fruit in it Water-84 oz and counting Dh is taking the day off tomorrow. We have dentist appts in the morning and then will do a little shopping and probably go out to lunch too. Hope everyone is having a good night!! DLast edited by Denise78; 06-25-2008 at 07:15 PM.. |

Yea, Glad you got the A/C going! It's just too hot without it.I don't know how I survived growing up in Fla. with no A/C but I guess theres something to that ozone layer stuff. If YH is the exercise queen you have got to be the water Goddess!
I don't like to drink water but I may have to start if it will help with the weight loss. My Menu for today was not so hot. B-1 egg,1 sausage link L-salad with lettuce, tomato, cheese, italian dressing/baked chicken S-strawberries D-2 wonderful hotdogs ![]() I need to get a better meal plan.I'm getting in a rut.I guess that means I need to go to the grocery store |

As far as exercise you are very faithful E. Wish I could do some of my dvd's but there is no room since s3 here and that area was where I use to exercise and dont forget I sit on my butt at work all day - but I am convinced I have to do exercise to lose the weight. I hate water too - but I do drink a big glass of hot lemon water in the am - suppose to be good for fat flushing, the lemons sure have gone up here - 3 for 2.00. I thought of you and D blasting music so took the music to the pool - but then when I was counting laps it was kind of hard to do enjoy the music at the same time. What a great ac guy - he lets you order the part and fix yourself
I really like Ashby more and more. You guys better keep posting so I have something to do at my lazy do nothing job So now im at the hair gal and read about the fruit diet in the First magazine claiming of course you can lose mounds quickly, something I could try but not sure. I got the feeling I may have to do a switch out at some point. Wed am-cantelope and raspberries, potion lunch - nothing dinner-meatloaf with green beans snacks-fruiti, quaker cakes I got the most pretty watermelon at the store yesterday and the kiwi was on sale. I also got an avocado that I will mush and let sit on my face ( read that one somewhere) |

YH, I had to laugh
when I read about the avocado.I saw a woman on Oprah one day that used Preparation H on her face to tighten it up.I've been tempted to try but haven't quite got up the courage I have been faithful with my exercise but only because I have you guy's helping me I think I need to buy a new scale.I hate mine I was feeling so thin this morning, got on the scale and it said I was up a lb.Every time you get on and off it says something different.I may just need a new battery.I HAVE been off my water pill so I may have to find one of those. Have a good day at work and check in on us.D and I missed you yesterday. Where is eveybody? I know C is gone and I guess the others are too busy.I hope they are having fun ![]() course I am off my water pill |
