Fri.
am-grapefruit and apple, potion lunch-slimfast dinner-shrimp cake and peas snacks-fruiti, ice cream, pretzels I am completely baffled as my scale shows a 5 pound loss for the week, maybe its broke or maybe its water loss from the sea clay and neoprene shorts ???? |

Wow 5 lbs!! That is awesome, YH!!!
What a wonderful present!! Congrats to you!!My scale and I are not talking to each other this morning. I don't know if it's the scale or it's me -- probably a little of both. I had bought a new scale and then returned it because it was too light weight and I wanted a heavy duty one. So I'm still with my old one and if I get on and off within a matter of seconds, I get a different reading each time. Problem is, I don't like any of the numbers it's showing me. So no loss this week but hopefully I can get control of this and see better results next week. I do think water plays a big part. I've heard the same thing SC said, that if you don't drink enough, your body hoards it and retains it. You eat so much fruit, maybe you are getting enough water in your system that way, YH?? I am going to try to get more into my body daily and we'll see if it makes a difference next week. You'll be gone a whole week??? How will I ever survive??? Wahhhhh!!! I don't blame you for not taking s3. There's only so much you can do and then they have to do for themselves. Heck, I'VE known about the wedding for some time. If s3 really wanted to go, he could have been saving all along. Besides, I think you need a break from all the stress and pressures of home life. This is YOUR time to relax and enjoy yourself. ![]() T, where ya been hiding?? I missed a post from you last night. Let me tell you, if YH is going to run out on us for a week, you and C better be posting daily or I will go absolutely nuts!!! ![]() Dh said he'd go to the movies with me, surprise, surprise. But....we want to grocery shop and buy some more plants and flowers too. We can't do all that and go to the movies while it sits in our vehicle -- very hot day already. I want to see the movie but give up a day of shopping?? That's a tough choice for me! Geez, I wish you lived closer, we could go together! And here I thought you guys would laugh at me for liking that show. Dh wants to buy a rototiller too, but he wants to go this morning so he can plant today. He says we can make another trip to town to the movies tonight. I don't know. That's a lot of gas $$, making 2 hour-long trips like that. That's a 4 hour roundtrip drive!! Don't know if a movie is worth that!! We'll see.I really miss that melt belt. I think it was helping while it worked. Maybe I will look on Ebay for a better one. I wonder if a heating pad will do the trick in the meantime?? I can't see myself wrapping up in clay and seaweed -- too messy. Think of something else to jumpstart my loss, YH. You're good for coming up with something new and innovative and I'm getting discouraged here. I am plugged up and that is not helping either. Geesh, I drank a double dose of that potion yesterday morning and nothing so far!! ![]() Ok, enough complaining -- have a happy day ladies!! DLast edited by Denise78; 05-31-2008 at 07:39 AM.. |

Hi, y'all,
Yh! Wow, you are 56? From your photo you maybe look 36. You look great for your age. Hope you have a good one. Congrats on the 5lbs. Thanks for looking up the clay recipe. My thighs look like cottage cheese. D, aren't scales the pits? I promised myself if I couldn't break the habit of stepping on it daily, I would average my daily weights and record it only weekly. Keep on with the water, you will see the bloat go, I bet. Today, the scale says, 3 of the 6 lbs gone. ![]() So I am on my way again. C, lol at you breaking the remote. Like others have said, men might feel that is the cardinal sin of all. You are so right, C, DS will be with folks he knows and that care and that is important. Hadn't thought about that. Thank you all for all your support. Today: we are moving the old furniture out of our old house, helping son finish load up for the departure tomarrow or Monday. Today is the first day of my vacation till the 9th of June. Next week, it is cleaning, organizing, getting ready for the painters, new carpet guys to come to spruce up the house to get ready to sell. Will post menu later. |

Ok the coffee is made & I am back.
Seems you were posting while I was YH. WOW that is so great over the 5lbs!! What a birthday treat! Plus being able to put in 136 You need the break from your apt buddies!! And I completely agree w/D that he's had plenty of time to make his own arrangments....go, have a good time & forget about the rest of 'em!! D I'm sure it's water. Plus I've never seen a scale that doesn't register different each time when you do it many times in a row LOL!!! You need an old floor style manual one like T has in her garage! I'm glad I'm not weighing today as it was so hot & humid last nite waiting for a storm to break that I drank 2 ice cold beers....only time & way that I like beer, & it so satisfies your thirst!! So that's bloat this morning for sure. The storm did finally break & we got a lot of much needed rain w/some pretty good lightening. That is a long ride & lots of gas money in one day just to see a movie. But it was nice of him to agree to see it. I'd wait till next weekend when he won't be so tired from all the outdoor work when you get to the cinema. Can't believe that a double dose didn't help clear you out D! Between that & water retention who knows what your weight actually is today. With the way you love your scale I think you need to seriously see about finding one of those old ones where you slide the weight counter points up & down--wouldn't be a waste of money for you. Whatever you need to keep you from being discouraged! Yes we miss you T!! I'm like D & must have my posts or I will throw in the towel completely cause I am so sick of this struggle!!! Thought for sure when I finally felt strong with the not smoking that I'd be able to tackle the weight & just hang in there like a bull dog & knock it off. And here I am a year later still messing around.... ![]() I just don't get it?? And that's not an excuse I truly am confused.....HB would say I don't want it enough & I now wonder if I don't want it enough?? Seems to me that a heating pad would do the same thing D. Course you would have to have one mighty looonnnggg extension cord, or be laying on the sofa all day LOL!! Ok dh is waiting to talk to me about todays agenda so I need to go. But of course I'll be back... ![]() |

I am such a nut job that I drove to Curves to see if my scale was correct as their scale is precisely 2 pounds higher than mine, did a few machines and my scale is correct. So thats a great present to myself ! More later - taking Dunkin Donuts orders now - ughhh - Ill have an xl coffee.

Keep up with the potion D - it will kick in - that happened to me a week ago - plugged up - then wham. I cant find the First magazine for their recipe SC, maybe D still has hers - if you do a google search for easy body wrap you'll find many - I bought mine off ebay because I did not want to deal with it and its really not a mess, I just put the neoprene shorts on after and jump in the shower after and rinse the shorts. If you get into the ace bandages its a mess but works better. Here is an easy detox bath you can do.
1 cup of epsom salts handful of sea salt 2 TB of oil Lay in the tub as long as you can. I really did not mind going to Dunkin - better than cooking breakfast and I guess they dont know its my BD. I can yell at em tommorrow. Can you drink cran water D ? You would have to get pure cranberry juice ( not cheap) and throw a couple TB of that in your water. There was a sign in Curves today about drinking the hot lemon water - more than once a day. Are you buying another scale today D? C is most likely right about the old fashioned one, I have one of those old fashioned health o meter ones that weighs alot but I use my digital instead, are you weighing yourself in the exact same spot every day ? Mine has to be on the same tile in the bathroom!SC- did you buy a new house and selling the old one ? Thanks for the age compliment but I do look my age and then some especially since the weight loss. I am going to try and take a new pic up north. An ice cold beer C - boy, does that sound good ! I love beer but I would end up having a 12 pack ! I am sure you really want to lose the weight C - stick with us - you can do it. Where is T ? Hope your dh is ok - did you go to the graduation ? |

Back from shopping. Geez, that little trip turned into an all day excursion! Dh couldn't find the rototiller in Alliance so we had to go onto Scottsbluff, which was another hour, (2 hours from our home). We went out to Applebee's for lunch. I had a gift certificate from a sorority sister so we used that. Went to Home Depot and got the rototiller there and then we went shopping in Wal-Mart. By then, we had been to several stores so I was tired and feet hurting but I did manage to buy a cute coverup with matching beach towel and tote bag for my pool days. I didn't get a scale because by the time I got the grocery items we needed, I couldn't walk anymore and I was tired and just wanted to get home. We left here at 9 am and didn't get home till after 4:30 pm so I feel like the entire day was shot. I brought home a rotisserie chicken for me for supper and fried chicken for the guys so at least I didn't have to cook tonight.
Today's menu: B-1/2 protein bar, coffee L-grilled chicken caesar salad, french onion soup (no bread), ONE fried shrimp (stolen off dh's plate) D-rotisserie chicken, lc pita, almonds Dh bought some more vegetable plants and I got lots of flowers -- daisies, snapdragons, cosmos. Very pretty. We bought a little white picket fence to put around a corner garden we have, since Hannah likes to lay in it. ![]() That reminds me...the vet called yesterday and told me Hannah's liver enzyme levels were elevated and it looks like a possible tumor but can't be sure since he never found a tumor. He said there's a slight possibility of it being a diet too high in fat causing her liver to calcify, so on the chance it's that, he suggested we change her diet. We bought a special weight control dogfood today. So now my dog is on a diet with me. I hope that's all it is but he did say he thinks it's a cancer of some kind so it wasn't very good news unfortunately. ![]() YH, surely your guys remembered your b'day?? If not, I would be reminding them very strongly of it. I expect my crew to wait on me hand and foot on my b'day....or else. Hope everyone is enjoying their day! D |

Y, let me add my
wishes to those already given--we love ya a lot, Gal! Now I know we don't appreciate counting up the years, but you deserve a celebration, so here's a little added cheer for you--![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() :lov e:![]() ![]() ![]() And may you be having a very happy day just knowing that it is the anniversary of your birth and you have many friends who love you! ![]() Just think, you are getting so skinny that soon you'll be able to have those pancakes and french toast you're dreaming of without having to worry about losing any more weight! Which leads me to say congrats on an awesome loss of 5 lbs.! That is definitely the best birthday gift of all! ![]() I had one of those clay wraps once when we lived in the desert and they did them at a spa. I freaked out and got claustrophobic and had to have them take them off--had no idea it would do that to me! You gotta be tough to handle a clay wrap! ![]() Congrats, SC, on getting back on plan and getting 3 lbs. back off already-- that is fabulous! And you're doing great handling your son's leaving the nest--it happens to all of us sooner or later. At least you can take comfort that he is confident enough to leave home and feels he can be responsible to do it. So did you move recently?D, your annoyance with your scale reminds me of one of the good reasons I quit weighing! For some reason, I find the tape measure doesn't disappoint me so much, although I know you gals have trouble measuring. I guess I've done it for awhile and I always know exactly where to place it. But even without that, your clothes are a good measure of your losses. Just think how you've come down in size! That is so great! Now you got a cute wrap and tote to go with your cute smaller size bathing suit! How fun! D, what about your water pills--have you been taking them? One thing that works well for me is a dandelion tincture called "healthy liver tonic" by Herb Pharm. It is a good diuretic because it spares potassium. Plus it acts as a stool loosener so that helps too. You use a dropperful in a little warm water 3 or 4 times per day. I also use gotu kola which is supposed to help metabolism. I have been losing better and getting rid of water since I started back using them.C, now don't you go getting discouraged, Girl! You are doing great on your new program! You're eating right, and exercising more, and your jeans are getting looser. You've made progress since you began this process; don't think of it as a year, that's meaningless in the whole scheme of things. You're better off than you were last June, and you're learning what works for you. That takes time, and trial and error. You are winning the battle--there's no time limit! You're getting healthier, BTW... I am very honored to have been able to share part of your process, and I honor you for being so committed to it. YOU ARE AWESOME!!! Also, C, you inspired me to quit weighing and go to using my clothes fit as a guide; and that is working so much better for me! I was afraid to eat more vegetables because of the carbs, but since I quit weighing I am now eating more of a variety of vegetables and paying more attention to my natural hunger instead of worrying about the scale. Now I feel better than I have in a long time. And I am back to being able to wear all my 14's that were too tight just 2 weeks ago! Yay! So don't you dare throw in the towel! We're going to our granddaughter's graduation tomorrow. Actually, we decided to just go to her celebration afterwards because dh is going and is not feeling 100% yet so we're going to make it a shorter day. I'm happy he's going to be able to go, he is much better. I was not looking forward to sitting through a long graduation ceremony anyway. And our granddaughter is happy enough to just have us at her party, so it's all good. I'm not worried about the food; I'm sure there'll be a lot of veggies and meat to choose from. The parents are both slim and pretty health conscious. It's dh's oldest son and wife who adopted two children, a girl and a boy. This girl has just been a wonderful daughter, a compassionate, loving, hard-working responsible girl. We are very proud of her and happy for her. ![]() Here's yesterday's menu: B - betcha can't guess! ![]() L - salad w/blueberries, 2 seafood burritos (no tortillas), lc choc D - veg. minestrone soup, tuna salad, coleslaw S - mixed nuts Take care, Gals, see ya tomorrow! T. |

What a busy day D---your tootsies are gonna be complaining tomorrow!! Veggies & flowers--what a garden. I'm not a big garden person. Had them the first years we were married and canned/froze everything. But I don't have a green thumb. So our yard is simple & I put plants in containers for some color. I've been to Scotsbluf....boy all these places from my youth. Did dh get his mouth issues resolved or did the pain just finally go away? Hope your dog is ok! Hard when they're sick--amazing how attached we get to 'em. Guess you're glad now that you didn't make plans to do the show too.
Enjoy your special day w/ your granddaughter T! Glad dh is feeling good enough to go to at least part of the day. My db has been sick for 7weeks now w/that super bug that's going around. He's never sick so it kind of caught him off guard. Guess it's been really bad in their area of Wy. He's finishing up his 5th round of antibiotic. Scary! I could take that salt bath w/the way I enjoy a good soak in the tub. Saw those neopene shorts in a catalog today--think it must be the cheap ones that you tried D. I get a rash on my skin so quickly when I get hot that I'm afraid to try them. I had one of those challenging days but I seem to have made it thru. Was mentally challenging as I was confronted w/ a couple facts of my behavior in direct relation to my food. One of those moments of clarity--but even w/that I had to struggle to not eat. But it's almost 11:30 so unless I go beserk in the next 10mns I will have come out on top. Ate very little as I wanted to stay away from food & the kitchen. Brought these really cute casual pants up from the basement that I had bought 4yrs ago when I had lost the 39lbs. They were so cute that I was getting them as my "next step" pants. At that time they pulled up but I needed to loose the next 10 to zip 'em. Well that never happened. But for some reason they were on my mind the last few days, hence the trip to the basement. Actually they were right at the top of a pile so didn't have to disturb the sorting I'd done a few weeks ago. Not sure why I brought them up as they are at least 40lbs away....T have those jeans come yet, or did you say backorder till the end of June? Well Y I trust you enjoyed your birthday! Glad you dropped the 5lbs so that you didn't get to DD & order a bagel w/cream cheese & 2 donuts to go w/that coffee to celebrate your birthday Thanks for the words of encouragement T. I do wonder about all the others that were here when we started....did they just give up or give up & put all their lbs back on...hope not. I have been watching what Y has been eating closely as she has been losing so well. I know all her exercise is a big part of it--but she does have a pretty specific eating pattern. Glad that you are doing/feeling better by adding more veggies back! Lc does encourage a lot of veggies & I'm not sure why we all seem to get hung up on broccoli & cauliflower. What interests me is Y's 3 pieces of fruit as her breakfast each morning. Course you & D have sugar issues to consider. So much of this is finding the flow that works best w/your own body. I did get 30mns in on my walker while dh was at his moms doing a repair. Never put the dvd back in the player as I wasn't having a good day as it was....dh didn't say anything about the remote just looked at me funny...he has never had a temper, so such actions just baffle him. And of course make me want to smack him He wouldn't help w/the dvd so maybe that was his quiet revenge LOL He said you push this button & I said I did--a number of times. And he just looked at me some more. The whole thing was pretty silly Bkft=coffee w/cream L=nothing S=v8 D=burger patty w/slice 2%cheese 1 pickle 1 sm apple S=8pm fiber protein drink Whoever is still up, enjoy the rest of your nite! |

Happy Sunday Ladies,
I had a nice day by myself yesterday, BF went to work, S3 went to a barbecue early and said he wont be home Sat. nite. I relish the peace and quiet days. I hung out by the pool for a couple hrs. feeding the lizards & birds, skimming thru a library diet book called The Eat Clean Diet, and did 25 laps. I started to think about packing I tried on some tops and thats a problem now as most of them are sleeveless and with the armholes you can see half my bra so I have to try and locate smaller top box or just buy some more. Alot of lands end tops with tags on still on that I never wore have to go. Speaking of tops.Boob dillemna : I am sharing a secret with you guys as you are so great and need advice. When I was 40 or so I got breast implants (saline) - biggest mistake - divorced, dating, self conscience about small boobs, blah, blah. Now no one tells you that they dont last forever. So about 4 years ago I wake up and one is completely deflated ! I have been wearing a pad in my bras, swimsuit, all this time and limits certain clothing especially in FL. When I was heavy it was not that noticable but now its pretty bad. I went to some plastic surgeons long ago and of course they all want to do redo's, big $$$, and just think you could do it all over again at 70 I inquired at the time about just getting them out and the PS say you wont like it or you'll need a lift then, blah, blah. Anyway now that im getting closer to goal I really need to do something - I am thinking just to get them out and if it looks like hell so be it, but that may not be good either. In the one thats deflated I can just feel that bag sitting in there ! And ill have to charge it whatever I do. I dont like to wear a bra around the condo and I swear people look at me weird but never say anything - maybe they think I had cancer and lost 1. The PS that did them retired long ago so no break there. Ok, thats my confession so I need your expert imput. I never got that in to it when I was heavy because I knew I had to lose weight prior to any solution. I wish I could tell all these young gals not to do it. So I dont want to buy many tops as who knows what the result will be. Thats ok C that you got the 40 lb away pant - I got something ridiculously small in my bathroom too. You got a point there with the broccoli and cauliflower - me with the green beans too. You just got to find what works for you without going completely nuts. You did very good Sat. C - im sure you got rid of the beer. I told myself I was starting a diet on Mon. for over 2 yrs. Have a great time at the grad. party T - I dont blame you for missing the ceremony- thats just too much. Glad DH is feeling better. I had a good laugh on your clay wrap experience, getting all bandaged up like a mummy to be undone right away. Wish I had the bucks to get them because I think they work. What a shopping day you had D ! I always think I want to live where there is nothing but you do have all the driving to contend with. Well at least you got the wrap and tote out of the day. Your garden/flowers sounds so nice. My neighbor went to Europe for 2 months and im in charge of their plants - alot of exotic stuff - I hope I dont kill them. You are going to have to put your feet up today ! Sorry to hear about Hannah - I hope the vet is wrong- does she hate her new diet food ? I bought my scale online but I buy mostly everything online except groceries. Publix use to have the delivery service for 5 bucks-you shopped online for the groceries but they stopped it. All the boys managed to remember my BD and I got phone calls, it dawned on S3 after he left, BF remembered too but said he was afraid to mention it in the am as he knows I dont like BD's - good excuse. Sat. am-yogurt lunch-protein drink, apple dinner- LC entree snacks-pretzels, fruiti, handful of jujubees I anticipate a gain on my trip, eating out alot, visiting old friends, etc. I am not going to deny myself wedding cake. I have a fav. bakery up there thats makes an item I cannot get here and would love to go there, ill try not to. Plus all that good sausage - cant get it here. I guess I need to rethink this because this is no good. I will not make a pig of myself like I always do on trips because " I deserve it ". I got a travel pass at Curves yesterday so I hope to visit one there. |

YH, I'm sure it's probably water weight and will be gone soon. I have such an issue with that -- I'm sure you gals are sick of hearing about it. But I lost 6 lbs of water overnight last night. That's how much I can carry in one day when I don't put my feet up. I know it's only water so I don't know why it bothers me so much but it does interfere with my weight loss because it's very discouraging when I step on the scale and see it go up that much in just a matter of hours. Today I am going to work on that and put my feet up when I need to and take my water pills when I'm supposed to.
About the breast implants YH -- I would spend the $$ and get them removed. For one thing, if they were full of saline, that saline leaked into your body. I would be worried about how harmful that is and how you don't want that to happen with the other one. There are so many padded bras and Miracle bras and specially-designed clothes that you can always wear one of them if you need to. You have a boyfriend who obviously loves you no matter whether you have them or not, so it's just YOU that worries over this. I admire you for wanting to improve your looks and physique. There's nothing wrong with that --- as long as you do it in a healthy way. You're a very beautiful woman and you will still remain a beautiful woman if you get them removed. I'm sure they served their purpose to boost your ego after the divorce but that's all water under the bridge now, isn't it?? We will love you, with or without them, but my vote is to get rid of them!! ![]() C, wow your menu yesterday was very sparse. Was that because you drank beer and wanted to compensate for it? Surely your weight will drop if you eat like that everyday but be careful that you eat enough. We don't want you getting sick on us!! I had some watermelon last night but my sugars were outrageously high this morning so I paid for it. I think you're doing great, especially as of late. Not only your eating habits changed, but your attitude did too and that plays a big part in weight loss, in my opinion. Just think of it this way....yes, it's been a year but in all reality, if you hadn't stuck with this board and at least gave it a shot at losing weight, would you weigh as little as you do or would you have given up entirely and weigh a lot more?? It's not like you stuck around for 12 months and gained, gained, gained. You just didn't lose a lot in the last year. There's a difference. Think about it. I commend you for picking up the slack now and going gung-ho. ![]() I stick to broccoli and cauliflower mainly because those are the only low-carb veggies I like that are available to me on a regular basis. I hate green beans, brussel sprouts, etc. I do eat zucchini and eggplant when I can get them but our little store in the next town does not carry them so I have to drive an hour to shop for those, hence why they are not on my menu often. I love peas, corn and carrots but they are high carb and raise my sugars too much. I eat spinach and green leafy lettuce a lot too. I haven't tried the neoprene shorts yet. I think you are thinking of my cheap meltbelt, C. Don't know if they make those shorts big enough to fit my huge butt. ![]() About those other gals, I saw one posting on another board shortly after she left here. I think she still posts and is still dieting, but just stopped posting here. I won't name names since she left without saying goodbye and I imagine she would pop in to say hi if she wanted others to know she was still around. She was one of the first ones, although not the very first. I would hope that if one of us now wants to leave, for as close as we've all gotten, we would say goodbye and not just disappear into thin air like that. But hopefully we will stick together. I'm not going anywhere so you guys are stuck with me. ![]() T, I hope you have a fun time at the graduation. Dh and I usually do the same thing, skip the long ceremony and show up for the reception afterwards. That's where you can do your visiting anyway and I'm sure your grandaughter appreciates the fact that you're going to that. Congrats on fitting into those size 14 pants!!! That is awesome!!SC, hope you are having a good wkd. Is ds all packed up and ready to go?? Well, ds2 is breathing down my neck for this computer, so I better end this. Have a great day ladies!! Another quiet morning at home w/my coffee--how splendid! Y you are always up so early, your post times always crack me up!
You know after all these years of dieting that ones weight fluxuates daily--that's why weighing daily sends me to the looney bin right quick Just look at your clothes & smile!! Between the flabby upper arms & the big arm holes I gave up sleeveless long ago!! But in Fl you probably need 'em!That's a tough one re: the implant... is it a health issue at all Y? Anything that insurance would help with? Probably not in these days rules I suppose. They'd call it a pre-existing condition for sure...I think I would say have them out. All of us women have to deal will boob problems as we age; so the ps was right you wouldn't be happy but it would be normal problems for your age and it would have to be better than the obvious size difference now. There are great bras now that pull you up & shift you over & hold you in or push you out...you name it they got it LOL!! So you could get an acceptable look I'm sure. Just make monthly payments--you break yourself to help ds you can break yourself for you this time LOL!! Actually it worries me that you have the deflatted bag in the one breast... See those Lands End tops w/the tags attached are the reason us seasoned shoppers like resale all women have new never worn stuff to donate LOL!! I have new w/tags stuff I've bought used & never got into that I have donated back again....talk about recycling so please pass those tops on Y!!Glad you had such a nice quiet birthday!! No fighting or fussing was a gift in itself! Set a goal for your trip. I did that on last years trip & it worked great. I figured being up 3-5lbs when I got home was something that I could take off quickly. I had some special treats but I picked 'em with great care. So I enjoyed my trip, didn't feel cheated, & when I got home I think I was only up a lb or 2. Was so pleased that I had handled it so well!! Course I fell apart after that with all the stress we came home to but the trip went great LOL! I'd say have 1 treat from the bakery & 1 sausage. Would be nice if you could get them while you're on your own so you could eat it slowly & savor every bit---using this approach I think I really warded off any kind of binge. Pack your drink mix & do most of your day normal. I took all kinds of protein bars etc. Good luck! But mainly enjoy yourself! It did help me that I was able to take my laptop & keep checking in w/you guys. Most days I could only read not post--never figured that out--but it really helped keep me on track. You're making me anxious for our vacation...that won't happen 4 more months ![]() I tried to slip into those pants last nite...now that was a hoot! They came up to my KNEES so now they are folded nicely on the floor by the bed where I can look at their cute'ness!!Ok I'm off for more coffee Here's to a great Sunday ![]() Well I see you were posting while I was D--good morning! |

I'm back. Not that I needed to yack even more but dh is out cultivating the garden and the boys are eating late breakfasts and I'm trying to stay out of the kitchen! Dh and I had coffee on the deck this morning and discussed the gardening and where the flowers should be planted. I can't get down on my knees anymore so he plants and I supervise.
![]() YH, I was thinking about those sleeveless tops with the big arm holes that show your bra. The gals around here buy those colored sports bras to wear under shirts like that and they actually look nice so it's okay if they show through the armholes. I've seen them worn like that on tv too. And then you don't have to wear a regular bra, so that might be nice too. Glad you got those pants out, C. I bet with the way you're going, they'll fit you soon enough! And they're good to have as your "measuring" tool for in between. I know I go crazy over the scale and I probably should take a break from it for my own sanity but I am so afraid that if I don't weigh myself daily, I will gain weight without realizing it. I'm going to try to get on once a day only because I am way too neurotic, jumping on it everytime I go into the bathroom, and that is just crazy. First thing in the morning is your true weight anyway so I should be happy with that and suck it up the rest of the day, right?? And I am going to try eating breakfast again because that does seem to help. My only problem is that once I start eating, seems I can't stop. So that's why it was easier to just skip breakfast because then I didn't reach for food till later in the day. But I am plugging along -- only had a couple of wks with no loss -- so that's not too bad as we all seem to stall once in awhile. I think I will be crazy till I lose all my weight and then hopefully I will settle down once I am on maintenance. ![]() YH, enjoy your vacation! Like C said, don't go hog-wild but treat yourself to the things you have really been craving -- in moderation. You might gain a couple of lbs but you are doing so great with your diet and exercise, you will take off whatever you gain once you come back. You are soooo close to goal now anyway, it's not like you have hundreds to lose still like someone I know....ME!!!! ![]() I remember how you vacationed last year, C. Didn't you eat on plan all day long and then allowed yourself a small treat once a day with your supper? Like a fresh-baked roll or maybe a yummy dessert. Something really worth the cheat. And you came back with such a small gain, so you got to enjoy your vacation without all the guilt and worry. ![]() I am shooting for a vacation back East sometime in 2009. Hoping to be under 200 lbs by then. That's a yr away so it's definitely do-able if I put my mind to it.Glad dh was okay with the remote, C, even if he does wonder what the heck is up with his wife from time to time. I'm still thinking about that beer. I have a Coors Lite in a long neck bottle in my refrig. Nice and cold, just waiting for me. I'm like you -- only crave it when it's really hot outside and boy, does it taste good then! Okay, better not think about it till I lose a couple of lbs this week and then maybe it can be my treat next wkd! Glad to hear you had an enjoyable b'day, YH. ![]() Well I guess that's all I needed to add. I am going to look up some scales online but I think in the meantime, I can always stop at my dr's office on my way to Curves and use their big scale if I'm questioning the accuracy of mine. The one at Curves weighs me about 5 lbs heavier, mostly because I keep my sneakers and clothes on when I jump on their's. They have it in a room with no door so I can't get nekked like I do at home. ![]() D |

Hello everybody!! I see that everyone is outside enjoying the grand weather! We went for a hour drive on a errand for dh. Rest of day was at home
![]() Today was a good day. Having those pants laying out is helping for the moment LOL Keep thinking how cute they would be on---don't remember my behind being that small it's been so long... ![]() I did find that by eating so light for a spell & then eating a small meal I feel over full. That helps too. Didn't plan it that way but noted the extra full feeling when it happened. I did 30min on my walker & really pushed me pace for a better burn. Bkf=coffee w/ cream sb protein bar L=2 eggs 3 sl ls-ns bacon S=lite cheese stick D=mexican ck & sm apple sf jello w/whip cream Was so hungry when we got home I had a headache & felt sick (didn't mean for that to happen) so I just swallowed the cheese stick & jello. That held me for an hour til I ate dinner. Then I felt so full when it all hit my tummy. Which is good as I took a piece of pineapple upside down cake out of the freezer for dh to have tonight as a snack. Ok tomorrow is my 54th birthday.... Man where have the years gone??? So I am getting on the scale in the morning to give me a new set of numbers to work with. Then the scale is going back to the basement! Dh is taking me out for dinner at the Long Horn. I can eat a very tasty lc meal there. I am using my free birthday dessert coupon. Dh said he will eat most of it so that I can have just a couple yummy bites. Whatever it is I can promise it will be chocolate!! I will eat very lite during the day so that I fill quickly. Feel solid about everything but the little loaf of hot fresh bread they bring....that's always such a temptation for me....I can pass on the calories of drinks & appetizers. That's a great goal D. And I think it is doable. 2lbs a week for a whole year will get you there. Has anyone at home seen you since you put on the weight or do you just want to be back to a better size before you see family? Ok I need to go pack dh lunch & clear up the kitchen as I blow thru the everything I was so hungry. And it sure won't pick up itself LOL!! Want to not have to do anything tomorrow but go by the post office to mail some stuff to ds. Want to relax on patio w/book & ice tea. Am planning on doing my wop dvd--if I have to I will try the 3mile which is where it was stuck at...lol !! |

C, you always beat me to the boards in the mornings so I wanted to post before I went to bed tonight. I know I'm 2 hours behind you and still...you beat me to the punch!!! I wanted to wish you a
for tomorrow. I had even started this post when I got a notice that you posted so I had to delete what I had written and start over. Sounds like you will have a nice b'day dinner with dh tomorrow night. Hey, if it was me....I'd stick a candle in that loaf of fresh bread and eat that instead of cake! Sounds too good to pass up!! Glad you are eating so lightly and still feeling full. Your stomach must be shrinking, along with your appetite! My family last saw me 3 yrs ago at ds1's high school graduation. I was big but not as big as I hit this year. I do think I was under 300 though, so I'm still now probably bigger than they remember and need to get closer to 200 or below for them to see a difference. My mom and I talk once a week on Sundays and she knows I am losing and asks for an update every week so she knows I'm at 43 lbs lost, but she doesn't realize how big I was before I lost that! Hannah is not doing good. Breathing very heavy, choking and coughing. I had to get up in the middle of the night to turn the a/c on because she was panting so loudly. Ds1 is very attached to her and I hope she is still around when he comes home next wkd. ![]() We had a nice dinner tonight but I didn't cut my steak in half like I planned. I totally forgot. Ds2 went back to the ranch shortly afterwards. Ds1 will get on the road for work at 6 am tomorrow morning. Then I will be childless for another week.Today's menu: B-egg substitute, spinach, 3 sl bacon, lc pita, coffee S-almonds, greens blend L-rotisserie chicken, lc tortilla, lettuce S-sf freeze pop D-steak, 2 ears corn, lettuce S-lc crackers w/ff cheese (which is actually very tasty) I hope the corn doesn't hurt me but I couldn't help it. I just love it so much but that's the last I am buying for awhile because it's something I can't resist. I think if I watch my sugars and take some extra insulin tonight, I may be okay. ![]() Dh has a dentist appt tomorrow (just a fitting for his plate) so I'll go with him. Friend has a branding to go to on Tuesday. Guess Curves will have to wait till Wednesday. I should get my Callanetics tapes out before then. I should. I found some scales that I like, the kind that is like at the dr office with the sliding thingie going across. Around $200 for a decent one at Amazon and that was free shipping. Seems like a good price but I will check in town at the medical supply place to see if they have any there that I can actually try out before I order one online. I think it would be a good investment for me, seeing how much I jump on/off!! Well you ladies have a good night and I'll catch ya in the morning!! D |

Hi, y'all,
YH, about your implants and problem. Have you thought about a maxiplasty? That is where they just give you a lift to put 'em where they ought to be.I don't think it is as expensive as the implants. It is true that without the implants you might be smaller, but at least they would be "uplifted".I agree with D, get rid of the saline. If I ever come into money, I am going to have a maxiplasty but without the implants. Don't care if I am small, but would like to have 'em alittle more "perky". Thanks for the recipe and the google advice. DS said "goodbye " tonight, he is heading out at 0500 tomarrow. He also admitted to us he "wasn't sure" about the move. We reassured him he would always have the spare room here, if it didn't work out, he could stay here untill he found a place, not to worry. We moved to a small town of 7,750 last Septemeber to be closer to DH work. Son and a roomate had been renting our old home, but since they are both gone now, we are going to sell it. Todays: menu: egg casserole, coffee smothered steak w/ canned tomatoes, few onions, tossed green salad w/ veggies, sf blue bell ice cream bar homemade lc pimento cheese on lettuce, slice lc toast, slice canteloupe, sf cranberry juice Ready for a busy week. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() :birth day:![]() ![]() ![]() Have a great one, C! Sounds like you are going to have a very fun dinner, and for sure let yourself have your yummy chocolate birthday treat! ![]() Do you have to work tomorrow? Hope you get a chance to go for a nice walk or something. Congrats on keeping on that airwalker! You are really staying motivated! Yeah, I have wondered about those who just disappeared, too, did they just quit or what. Most likely just got frustrated and stopped; that's what happens to most people who try to lose weight, but like D says--we're going to be here til we get er done! Glad you had a nice birthday, Y, and that everybody finally did remember! Gosh, I don't know what to say about the implants, but I would go back and get an up-to-date opinion, since there have been so many recent improvements and innovations in cosmetic surgery. I think it would be a good idea just to check and see if the fact that one has deflated is a health problem because then you might qualify to have the removal surgery taken care of by your health insurance. And maybe you could spread out payments if you really wanted the lift. D, I'm so sorry to hear Hannah is not doing so well, poor girl. Glad you got that water out of you and that you're going to remember to get your feet up during the day--you're too busy! We had a nice afternoon up at our gd's party. Horrible drive, though. The roads and traffic are just terrible. No tax money to fix the freeways and the trucks and so much traffic just tear them up. I hate driving into the cities, having to navigate six lanes of speeding vehicles--and have to go back in less than two weeks to go to another one of these things. Wish I could just levitate us there! The food was fine, mostly cold cuts and fresh fruit, and I didn't have a piece of cake. Stopped at a Greek restaurant on the way home and did fine there, too. I probably ate too much meat today, but hopefully it won't stick! ![]() Oh, it's late--talk to you gals tomorrow--sweet dreams, everyone! T. |

Looks like everyone had a nice weekend. BF took me to lunch Sunday and went in the pool with me and was fairly nice. We went to Olive Garden as I figured id be safe with the soup and salad. The basket of rolls was driving me batty but I had one bite of one roll. S1 stopped over to pick up presents as my grandson will be 5 and he is making the trip while im gone. I hope the mom dont pull anything as he has the hotel set up, big disney plans, etc. I should be packing but that did not happen, i will be batty the last minute. After work is teeth cleaning.
C ! I like Longhorn, I could have gotten a free BD meal at Bobby Rubinos but its a barbecue rib place that would have been really bad for plan.I think its good you are bringing the scale up for today or weighing in the basement. Do it first thing in the am after you go to the bathroom. You have been doing so well as of late and im proud of you, keep lookin at the little pants. Sounds like you had a nice day at the graduation T - does dh drive ? I would make him do it - I am so bad with my phobia but im going to give it a shot one freeway exit at a time, the prozac is suppose to help with this but I want it in me a full month before I try it. When I upped the dose last week weirdness again for a few days but getting better - not sure what dose would be good for me. I will say a prayer for Hannah D, I was a complete basket case when I lost my Ginger, i missed work for 3 days. Can the vet give her anything to make her more comfortable ? Your plan to go back east is very doable with the weight and I dont plan on going anywhere. I just love you guys and this is my motivation. I guess many people join boards with good intentions, fall by the wayside, and give up. I know that I joined a couple and never started the freakin diet. I dont think I would like a large board, I feel like I know you guys. Maybe someday we can all meet up somewhere - wouldn't that be a gas. Get the new scale D ! Good to hear from you SC, are you sure you want to sell - those kids do come back ![]() Thanks for the imput on the boob deal, no one will pay for anything, one dr. said the manufacturer would pay for implant ( they are cheap ), but as far as removal, or anything else you are on your own. They now sell implant insurance when you go but it just covers the implant. Well it was only saline and it leaked ages ago so im really not worried about that, but the empty bag is kinda creepy. I guess the PS's said they'll look like crap after the skin being so streched and age sagging. Sounds like the consensus is get them out and if possible get a lift. I dont care at all about being fat chested - but they may look pretty bad - dont forget the breast surgeon dug in to one of them a couple yrs ago - I even pleaded with him to write it up in a way so I could get the removal covered but did not fly. Off to work - a million things to do, I will be manic. |

YH you gave me a good laugh with the fat-chested. One of those Freudian slips, huh??
I'll tell ya, I am a big-chested woman. Always have been. When I was a skinny-minny, I wore a 34C. Now that I am a chatty-fatty, I wear a 46DD. Can you imagine what my boobies are gonna look like when I finally lose all the weight?? Those babies have been stretched to the limit!!!!! But oh well. That's life. I don't care who you are, we all get old and we all sag at some point. Gravity baby. Those of us that have the $$ fix it, those of us that don't, learn to live with it and make fun of those that fixed it. If dh can love me being this fat, he can love me with the wrinkly saggy skin too. As far as your's looking a little messed-up, well unless you are getting a job in a topless bar that we don't know about.....that's something only you and bf will see so hopefully that won't be a problem. ![]() We had a horrible horrible hail storm about 1:30 am. Oh it was terrible. About the size of dimes. To look outside now, you'd think it snowed -- there's large white balls of ice all over the place. Totally destroyed dh's garden. He worked from 9:30 am till dark, which was over 10 hours yesterday, stopping only to eat supper, and it's all ruined. He won't even go outside to look. He's so upset and mad. We got half my flowers planted and those are destroyed. The other half that didn't get planted, well they are still alive because they were under the easement on the deck. But we spent a lot of $$ on those plants and I am sick about it. We'll replace the vegetables but I'm not replacing the flowers, it's just not worth it to me to spend even more money on them. I have family in Florida that I will eventually visit so maybe we'll meet there someday, YH. Or we could all do a group thing and fly somewhere central for a gals' wkd, who knows. That would be fun too. Congrats for choosing a place where you could stay on plan for your b'day. I Olive Garden. They have such yummy food. That was true willpower to stay away from the breadsticks!!! Hope your grandson gets his presents -- such a shame that his mom doesn't allow for a better relationship with your son and your family. ![]() T -- that is awesome that you stayed away from the cake!! ![]() SC, hope you are doing okay today. Call and/or email ds often. I'm sure that will make you both feel better. At least he left on good terms. Dh only hears from his son when he needs a favor. He stopped by this wkd to borrow a jack to work on his car. Looked terrible with hair down to his shoulders, scraggly beard and mustache, dirty ragged clothes. But I guess he is happy. He complained he doesn't have enough $$ and that he wishes he could get a better car that doesn't keep breaking down on him, but he doesn't want to give up the party-life and save some money. Thinks everyone should buy things for him because he is still too young to be working so hard. He's turning 20 in 2 months, so I hope he stops thinking that the world owes him & realizes that this is REAL LIFE and there are no handouts -- you gotta work for it. It's hard as parents, but with him, we go the tough love route. We have to or he'd bleed us dry and it wouldn't be fair to the other 2 kids who do work hard for a living and pay their own way. If he at least sucked up a little, I wouldn't mind tossing some $$ his way every now and then. But he doesn't call dh on his b'day or Christmas, lets weeks and weeks go by without a call, months without seeing him, never even tells us when he moves from one place to another, treats dh as if he wasn't his father, and yet....he thinks we should still pay his way in life. ![]() Have a great today, C. Live it up and enjoy the day!! Glad it fell on your day off -- what good timing!Happy Monday ladies! D |

ok drum roll please=====
scale said 234 this is my new start point. want to loose 35lbs by the middle of Sept. that means 2.5lbs a week. and that means being consistant like I was when I did this 4yrs ago. makes me nervous. can I do this. still wouldn't be able to wear really cute pants, that would tak 45-48lbs. now scale is back in box. glad that's over with! Y we don't have a Bobby Rubinos here. Good for you that you just had one bite of the bread. Ya know truthfully its that first 2 bites of anything that actually takes good, the rest is just the habit of filling. Know naturally thin gals & when you watch it's pretty much what they do--they say oh how yummy & eat a few bites & then just leave it alone. Always wondered how they do that. Keep trying to learn it so it can "naturally" be my style. It's the constant considering of each bite of food that gets so tiresome when you a dieter!!! I'm the oppose w/packing. I start 2 weeks ahead of a trip. Laying outfits & toiletries all over. Worked great till I hit 50 w/ crs--then I couldn't remember what was in each pile & ended up going thru all the piles again So this last trip I kept lists on top of each pile & stuck the lists in the suitcase so when dh said what bag is it in I knew! Course some of this is different when it's a 2 week car trip instead of 1 bag on a airplane. But it's just the humor of how we all handle things different, drives me to wait til the last minute. Talk about stress!Too bad you have to miss gs 5th! They are so cute at that age! Regrettably we've all seen the ex screw something up just to be mean....so bad for the kids! Glad you enjoy gd's party T! The driving here can be a real pain too. But I believe CA is one of the worst! Ours are doable unless it's rush hour....we almost always pick surface/back roads, even if you have to deal with traffic lights the flow is better & seems to only increase your trip by about 15mns no matter where you're going. One of the nice thing about driving in so many other states is the lack of other cars. Like D's state where you see way more cows than cars LOL!!! Well it will be a hard day for you SC with ds leaving. But they all leave the nest at somepoint & it's always hard. Just one of those being a parent things I guess. I know ds will end up out of state after school is done as the job market in MI is so poor & will take a number of years to bounce back. Maybe it's harder when you only have one. When he's gone that's it. Oh well. I will deal with that when it happens. Dh & I would love to move to a smaller town but urban sprawl in MI over the past 25yrs means that we would have to go way too far out to commute to any job. And that was before the gas went so high! Ok I need to get a move on so I can do my few chores of the day & have me some patio/book time Have a great day all!! |

Hey D we were posting over each other again
![]() My brothers oldest son sounds like an older little bit more mature version of your stepson. He's clean & has gotten past the party non stop stage but still feels he's owed so much...doesn't call unless he needs something. Db had to go the tough love route with him a few years back & it was really hard on him but he knew it had to be done. Parenting just never gets any easier. So sorry to hear about the storm!! That is so maddening for your dh--gardening is such hard work, all those hours down the toilet.... and the cost.... I guess I wouldn't replace the flowers either. Food is more important. Over the past 3yrs I have cut my flowers to less than half of what I used to do just cause of the costs. And last summer it was too hot to ever sit outside & enjoy 'em plus with a drier season you had to water so much & then they were restricking water use. So I just said enough. Ok I absolutely must get a move on or I will use this as an excuse to not exercise LOL!!! |

C, hope you have a great day. It's great to have a lc place to eat out. Congrats on the weight loss, too. You can do it. D- sorry to hear about Hannah. Hope she does get better. Sorry to hear about the storm. Well, am cleaning around the house this am, can't believe I still have boxes to sort after being in this house for 9 months. Later, today, we will hit the old house. I feel pretty good today. Glad the goodbyes are over. D & C, our only felt like your stepson & son, that the world "owed" him a living. However, since the first time he moved off , to another suburb, we instituted tough love. When he came back, he had begun to grow up. We hope being so far away, this will surely finish maturing him. The only thing we are paying for is his Medical Insurance, we can't stand the thought of him not being covered. He is going to have a rude awakening, as his new bank, car insurance person, etc., aren't going to have known him or us since he was "born". He will be starting from scratch. C, I think it is harder with having the only. I wish since they never found out why I only had "one" we had adopted. DH wasn't interested, I should have persisted. Anyway, can't change the past, only the future. I am off to do a exercise tape, body flex & callenetics to shape me up. Oh, J.C.Penny had a sale , I bought a new sport skirt & pr of pants in a size smaller. The top I bought is still a large, but untill I lose some more weight, the "girls" have to be covered! Before pregnancy, I was a 34B. After pregnancy, I stayed a 34c, with the weight gain, I went up to a 36DD, now, after 20 lbs, I am a 34D so I am on my way down again. Well will check in later. Here is my menu: B- low carb cold cereal, lc hood milk S- boar's head bologna slice, montery jack cheese slice planned: L- homemade egg salad on scredded lettuce, cherry tomatoes, 1/4 th wedge of a small cantelope, mint tea. D- baked chick breast, green veggie, green salad, raw cherries for desert. Last edited by slendercate; 06-02-2008 at 10:56 AM.. |

Well my errands are done & 1 load of laundry so I have clean undies
Few groceries I bought, only $80....LOLare put away. Did my wop this morning. Couldn't get the dvd to give up the 3 mile so I gave in & did it...was a good push for me actually as I was sweating pretty good when it was over. Guess I should continue to do the 3. Dh has a dr appt at 6 & then we'll go to dinner. Would put it off but we can't until Thurs & if I don't go now it will slip thru the cracks & never happen. Always let that happen in years past & built up some real bad feelings over the years. So am trying to do better & make my own way. Dh doesn't mind--I just have to lead him ![]() SC I never knew why I could only have one either. All the infertility stuff was new in the 80's & cost a fortune. As you said dh didn't care & sure wasn't going to borrow money to pay to find out. He wasn't interested in adoption either. Course in hind sight I see how it would have been a big problem with his folks as they would have always showed a difference between the kids. I still wonder sometimes what the medical problems were. My son is pretty good. It's my nephew that almost drove my poor brother crazy & broke his heart. When they are all raised the same it's confusing why one just always struggles against the flow?? I'm sure your son will get it all learned eventually. I personally learned all my lessons in the school of hard knocks LOL!!! It's hard with our kids cause we love them more than we love ourselves. How is that lc milk? Cost so much I hate to buy it & end up pouring down the drain. What is the lc cereal?? SB allows such things in phase 2. Congrats on buying the smaller size!! That to me is more encouraging then numbers on the scale! Ok enough blab. Boy can you tell when its my days off huh just can't stay away from you gals LOL |
