Both those dresses sound beautiful, YH. I bet if you concentrated on your Callanetics for the belly/backside and also used your time at Curves going on only the machines that target those areas, you could easily drop an inch or two before the wedding. Wouldn't hurt to try (once your back is feeling better, of course).

Love it that you're getting another pc of luggage. Congrats on swimming -- wow -- 30 laps is great!

I got back on the scale later and it read 295. I told dh I'm not counting on it though, till I see it that low later in the week. Could just be water today, who knows for sure. But hopefully as the week goes on, the numbers will stay low and then I will "report" the loss next Saturday.

I've really been trying to eat lightly today as wkds are dangerous when my family is around. We put a roast (beef) in the oven for supper so hopefully I will fill up on that tonight and not snack too much later on.

It started snowing pretty heavily so we decided not to go to the graduation an hour away, knowing that we'd be there a couple of hours and then the hour's drive home. Who knew what the weather would be like then. But the snow is letting up a little now and not accumulating too much so I think ds2 will go to the local graduation and take our gifts along, that way dh & I can skip out on all the parties today. I've been on the go so much, it's been nice to have a day to just hang out and watch tv, although it's been another one of those Beverly Hillbillies marathons.

I sure do feel better now that all the swelling has left me!! D

Good news that you are back to where you started D!! And very glad you are getting the water off!! That was scary! Snowing--oh I don't want to hear that....think you need to stay home & rest your body anyway. And if dh does 65hrs next week he needs to rest too.

Both dresses sound good. Have you tried any of the new smoothers YH?? They are very comfortable, believe it or not. And they will really smooth off that couple inches. Plus I find the back support very helpful. They are not cheap but they are worth every penny! Got a cheaper one & the high waist part just keeps rolling down, so I learned on that one. I have 3 styles & have ended up wearing one to work cause of the good back support. If you start getting your boxes sorted I would recommend the vacuum storage bags. I have been using them for years & they are great. They do suck down really low & I can put them in the basement & not worry about bugs or moisture. If it's stuff I really like I stick a cedar block or bag in but that's just me. I put ds's important baby things & some important papers in some other ones. They have a new style that is a garment bag that I'd love to try. Been using mine for years---only tore one a few years back. You could slide them under your bed too. My bags are labeled Corris size L/Corris size 14/Corris size 16/Corris size 18.....

Having my mom over for dinner of course. Dinner is smothered pork chops from my lc book (I've posted that recipe here before) & mashed 'tatoes & cuke salad & green beans. Ok that's all legal--well I won't have the 'tatoes.
Problem was desert....was going to make Choc Eclair Cake which is to die for! But I thought who am I kidding that I will have one tiny piece & leave it alone??? So instead I made a pineapple upside down cake. Here's the deal, Pillsbury has a cake mix with splenda now. So I used the yellow. Then I used the splenda brown sugar for the topping. So I took a lot of the bad stuff away. Am really curious to taste it. Am telling no one about the changes cause so many times they can't taste any difference. It smells wonderful. Have the Rhedi Whip for it instead of the cool whip.

Keep that tight dress out & keep trying it on just for incentive YH--whether you wear it to the wedding or not. I put on a tight pair of jeans today. The other 2 pairs are very comfortable so I thought I needed to start wearing a snug pair to keep my reality in mind LOL!!

Well I am off to clean up kitchen & make the cuke salad. I'm sure I be back checking at least twice more....I am so addicted to all you peoples LOL!!!

Yum, C, I can just smell that pineapple upside down cake right now--my favorite. So let us know how it turns out w/ the splenda. Your mom's a lucky lady to have you cook her such a lucious meal!

Congrats on staying on plan! And wearing the tighter jeans will certainly be motivating. Who cares how much you weigh when it's really the smaller size clothes we want to wear! How did the bridal shower go? Have fun tomorrow!

Glad you are feeling better, Y. Maybe your tummy is adjusting to the meds. Liquid vitamins upset my stomach, but I suppose it was more likely the meds. I guess your back is better, or you wouldn't have done the 30 laps! (I hope!) The dresses sound divine, and C had a good idea. Maybe some of the 2" is just loose skin, so something like that might work for you. Brown hair with blond highlights goes good with black, too. Actually, goes with everything!

Congrats on getting rid of that water, D, and moving down to 295! I know what you mean about not necessarily trusting it to stay there, though, but it means you are on your way to lower numbers! And thanks for encouraging me to hang in there--it is tough when you're hungry and not losing, but if you can stick with it the fat does eventually come off. I did drop 1/2 lb. yesterday, but I'm not sure if it's going to hold.

Too bad about the snow! But I agree w/ C--you should probably stay home, rest and keep your feet up. You could use a break, D. How incredibly gratifying it must have been for you when they weighed you at the Dr.'s and you had lost over 40 lbs.! And to have your sugar level come down, too. Hope all your test come out good.

We don't normally celebrate Mother's Day here. The kids are gone; my mother is in IN. But we always go to the Greek restaurant on Sundays, and they usually give you a rose or something, so I'll kind of feel like it's a little special. Hope you all have a happy day!

I have been staying on the plan, and went to the gym again today. Dh just had to go out to dinner Friday night, and wanted sushi so we went downtown to the Japanese restaurant, but I did fine. It usually makes my weight go up the next day because there's so much salt and sugar in the food. So this time I brought my own salad dressing, just had plain fish, and did not eat any rice. So this morning I was not up. Here's yesterday's menu:

B - Lox, cr ch, egg yolk, little sausage, spinach
L - Salad, chicken, avocado, cheese
D - broiled yellowtail collar, salad, coleslaw (at Japanese rest.)
S - lc choc, string cheese, almonds

Happy Mother's Day! T.

Happy Mother's Day Ladies,

I would stay clear of the sewer project today D but toilet flushing is a great gift. Glad the scale is down but you are right-dont count the 3 lbs. this week so you dont get crazy if its the water. Hope you were ok with the tv marathon !

Smoothers-give me a brand that works-may try one for that dress and you said helps back too. I dont have any undergarments like that because wearing them in FL. would make me nuts I believe due to the heat, I wear a control top panthose but they dont squish the fat / skin enough I guess I would need one that does the whole belly and goes above waist a bit so you would not have the roll bulge. My mother would say always wear a girdle and you wont have a tummy-of course I never did but she wore one everyday of her life and instructed me last yr. on which one to bury her in. She never had a belly and was always thin. Never heard of a vacuum storage bag C ! I love how you label and store your stuff in various sizes ! I have no place to store anything here unfortunately, BF rents a storage space for useless paper but I imagine thats packed full - stuff from 9 yrs. ago when he moved here Sure miss those basements. I got the tight dress in the bathroom now with probably 40 other in the bathroom work clothes. Going thru 1 box was a big ordeal for me but I picked a good one with 2 dresses at least-I also dumped about 20 items which was hard but has to be done. There is probably 30 boxes and the piles C-your MD Meal sounds lovely and I can just taste the pineapple cake !!! Keep it up with the tight jeans too !

Well you did good at the sushi place T - you are doing really good this week.
My nausea was the prozac and pain pill combo im sure and back was better yesterday so just took tylenols, hurts a bit today but I think it was from trying stuff on and off from the box more so than the pool. Thats a stress workout by itself. Too bad theres nothing you can do about this loose skin except surgery although I use to give myself body wraps and they did help but thet are hard to do on yourself and I would probably end up in traction wrapping myself up like a mummy and they are pricey to get them at the spa, etc. Enjoy your rose and meal at the Greek place today !

I have wrinkles!!

I do, I have wrinkles on my feet! And I am thrilled to have them!! Do you know how long it's been since my feet weren't terribly swollen?? I just put on a pr of pretty sandals (still have the tags on) that I bought to wear with those capris outfits and could never wear because I couldn't fit my fat feet into them. The scale also went down another couple of lbs so I'm sure it's the last of the water getting out of me.

You better start tackling those boxes, YH. Can you imagine if you got to a box and you had lost so much weight, the clothes were too big on you already?? I'm glad to hear your nausea is getting better. I sure hope your back is feeling better soon.

How did your cake come out C? Could anyone tell it was made with Splenda? I haven't seen that cake mix in the stores yet, but I will look. That would be nice to be able to enjoy dessert with my family once in awhile. Pineapple-upside down cake is a fav of mine. I see where Netrition sells sugar-free frosting too but I haven't tried it yet.

T, you did great at the Japanese restaurant. I tried a couple of different spring rolls once and thought I would die, they were so gross. What is collar? Is that a fish or a vegetable?? Have fun at the Greek restaurant today -- I love Greek food!!

It's my oldest son that will be working 60 hours this week, C, not my dh. Ds1 is enjoying his new job even if it is long hours. He's working outdoors on a construction crew, running machinery, splicing and laying cable, etc. Last year he worked indoors installing telephones, internet and cable tv so this was a change but I think a good one. More fresh air and exercise.

Our snow is all gone. A little cool out today but sunny so that's good.

Have a Happy Mother's Day ladies!! Whether your kids are near or far, I wish for you a wonderful relaxing day!! I woke up to find dh cleaning the kitchen. Best present I could have gotten today -- other than the toilet flushing!

Hi, y'all,

Happy Mother's Day, all.

Yh, hang in there. I know what you mean about support undergarments in the heat. Glad you found a do-able dress to wear.

C, I, also discovered vacum storage bags last year when we moved after 22 years in the same place. Your cake sounds delish, I'd like to make it. My diabetic father in law would love it.

T, congrats on your bs of 96. I get so distressed with all the new hoop la about diabetic diets as most are too high in carb and cause more harm than good.

D, congrats on wrinkles on your feet and being back down to where you were.

Yesterday was dh's birthday, we went to his fav restaurant, but I managed to eat on plan. I took a single spoonfull of the ice cream on his cobbler.

Today, our only son is here, my inlaws will be here also. dh is grilling food to be on plan for me. I don't have to cook today, what a present.

On the scale today, lost to under 1/4th lb of where I was. The stress eating weight gain is now gone.

Well, son is here, so better get off the computer.

Have a great relaxing day all. We can do this!

Hugs,
Slendercate

Ok the cake was a huge success! No one could tell a thing was different. Afterwards I told my mom & showed her the Pillsbury box & the bag of the splenda brown sugar. Wish the cake mix came in more than white & yellow. Used the crushed pineapple in pineapple juice so that cut sugar too. So it was not exactly healthy but it was nice to clean it up & have it taste yummy still. Wouldn't try the frosting unless it was splenda.

The rest of the dinner went well. Forgot to cook the green beans but we had salad & cuke salad so we were fine. We weren't able to pick up ds so it was just us 4. First time he's not been around on Mother's day so that felt odd.
We are picking him up next Thurs & he will be here thru Sun evening when we take him back to school. He called this a.m. to say happy mothers day. Am so happy I still have my mom here

Glad you seem to be drained D LOL!! Cleaned up kitchen is a good gift to start to your day!! Your dh wasn't cooking you a special meal?? Course I guess he doesn't have time around all the digging LOL!!!

Well it's time to sit down & put my feet up finally. Enjoy the last of your day ladies!!

Glad the cake came out so well, C! That will be something I will hope to try if I can ever get my weight down enough to not have even a small splurge mess me up! Sounds like you had a wonderful day with your mom even if ds couldn't make it. Your menu sounded great and shouldn't put any weight on you.

SC, congrats on getting past the little binge, and getting your weight back down! Nice to have relatives present to celebrate with you, and have your dh do the cooking! I agree with your comment on diabetic diets--the one the nutritionist recommended was way too high in carbs for me. Are you diabetic too?

D, what a nice surprise to wake up and find your dh cleaning the kitchen! But did that mean you were cooking on MD? I hope you got to keep your little wrinkled tootsies up today! Congrats on getting them into your pretty new sandals! And on dropping a couple more lbs! Looks like you're not going to claim that til it hangs around for awhile, huh! Oh, yeah, a "collar" is the part of the fish right behind the head near the gill area. They're really delicious because they have a little more fat and are very succulent. Hope the rest of your day was fun, D!

Y, glad your back is feeling better so you can just take tylenol. Have you ever tried Aleve? If it's inflammatory pain, that can work better than tylenol. How funny you maybe got your back out going through your clothing! Glad you did find something, but what might you find in all those other boxes? How many do you have? We are all fascinated by this. I have old boxes in the attic I now want to filter through, but no way could I ever wear any of that stuff; I only weighed 110 then. Congrats on getting rid of some of it. Out with the old stuff, in with the new! Hope you had a good day today.

My weight finally was down a lb. this morning--yay! Of course, I am praying that it will hold. It takes so long to just lose one lb. if I go up again, there goes another week! I have a little stomach ailment, so I have been flushing, too, D, but not in a good way...seem to have had a problem ever since the Japanese restaurant; although I also seem to have been fighting off a cold, so maybe it's a virus. I hope that's not the only reason the scale says less today! We still made our regular visit to the Greek restaurant, and the owner gave us our lunch free for MD! That was so nice! Here's yesterday's menu:

B - bacon, egg, spinach
L - salad, grilled tri-tip w/mushrooms and chipotle sauce
D - prawns sauteed w/onions, tomatoes, cilantro, asparagus, white zucchini
S - lc choc, cheddar cheese, almonds

Hope you all had a relaxing day! T.

Congrats on the lb loss, T!! Your menus look great these days! I'm sure you'll keep that lb off and more by the end of the week. How nice you got a free lunch today. Sorry you are feeling sick though. Hope you feel better soon!!

Me cook on Mother's Day?? Believe me, I milk this day and my b'day for all it's worth! I skipped breakfast but dh grilled pork steaks for lunch and then they dug up the sewer this afternoon. Which left me time to relax and put my feet up. Everyone is in now and getting cleaned up. Dh will grill steaks later for supper. Both boys gave me beautiful cards plus 2 tv remotes (since I don't seem to be able to work our present ones LOL) and a bag of Ghiardelli dark chocolates. I didn't have the heart to refuse the candy since I know it's expensive and the boys bought it because they figured drk choc is lower in sugar than milk choc (which is true). I broke a sm piece off to taste and will give the rest to dh when they aren't around. My mother's ring is ordered but has not arrived yet. I'm having a very nice day so far.

Sorry you couldn't see ds today, C, but glad he can come home next week for a belated celebration. Does he go to school far away or does he not have a car to drive himself? Your dinner sounded delicious and I'm sure you were happy to cook for your mom. I miss seeing my mom for MD and other holidays. I live 1800 mi away from my family so it's not even within decent driving distance -- takes about 33 hours if we go by vehicle. I haven't seen my mom since Christmas of 2004.

Good to hear you got back on track, SC. Sounds like you are having a very nice Mother's Day with your family and glad they could grill the dinner so you could stay on plan. Congrats on the weight loss!

YH, I hope you are having a nice day with bf today. Is your back feeling any better to get back to Curves this week? I don't know if I'm going tomorrow. My friend isn't sure of her plans yet. Oh, I know you said your b'day was at the end of the month but you never said when??

It turned out to be such a nice day today. Warmed up with a slight breeze so not too hot at all but lots of sunshine. Can't believe it was snowing only yesterday!

Well enough rambling. Glad everyone had such a nice Mother's Day! D

Well it sounds like everyone had a decent Mother's Day, that good !

Wrinkles on your feet D and sewer line done, what more could a gal ask for? Whew, hopefully that water will stay gone now. My bd is 5-31 but I dont have those anymore and never tell anyone !

Congrats on the lb loss T ! Glad you got a free meal but sorry you got a bug. I would say there's 30 boxes and the piles of clothing-I will dump used and donate with tags stuff-sooo many dresses that I will never wear (when I use to dress up for work ) I have the giant bottle of Aleve at work.

Glad you popped in SC !

C-your MD dinner was nice and glad you enjoyed the day, now we all have a craving for the pineapple cake!

S1, S2 and gf, and dog stopped over. ( no one has noticed my weight loss from this group, ha) BF was sociable and came out of the bedroom and hung out with us ( because s3 was not here) S2 offered to take me out for lunch but I said no " I just ate ", they picked up burgers somewhere and came back even tho I had burgers , etc to throw on the grill but said they did not want me to cook ( they did not want to either). I threw a bunch of chicken strips on the grill for a snack later. Watched a movie " There will be Blood " - very good. The dog had a giant cone on his head so he does not chew a paw injury so he was barreling into everything at my tiny place and still a giant puppy. A nice day. Back was better Sat, no so good Sun.

Sun.
am-scrambled eggs and whole wheat muffin eng. muffin
lunch-yogurt, pear
dinner-3 chicken strips
snacks thruout day- 2-100cal. snack pacs, 1 sourdough pretzel, 2-fruitis, 1 ice cream sand. ughhhh.

YH, sounds like you had a nice Mother's Day visit with s1 & s2. Great willpower not having fastfood burgers with them. Can't believe no one noticed your weight loss though. Men.

My stomach feels like there's a rock in it this morning. Don't think yesterday's meals have digested yet. I told dh I want something light for supper tonight, maybe low-carb version of French Onion soup. My drink potion-grass should be in today -- that should help.

Yesterday's menu:

B-coffee
L-pork steak, cauliflower, sf jello
D-steak, zucchini, salad, 2 jalapeno poppers, sf jello
S-almonds, 1/2 lc pita, 2 bran crackers (0 carbs), 2 sl cheese

Ds1 left this morning for the work week. He'll be home Fri night. The company is putting him up in this really neat hunting lodge. I looked up the website and wow, it's gorgeous. Cathedral ceilings, all hardwood floors, ceilings, walls, horses on premises, huge great room, it's like a bed & breakfast and absolutely gorgeous. Of course, those things go unnoticed on a 20 yr old. But I would love to go there for a vacation myself!

Glad everyone stayed on plan this wkd. Way to go gals! Here's to the start of another successful week!!

D

Hi, ya'll,

Hope everyone had a great weekend and here's to a great week.

T, I am not a diabetic, but have a condition that predisposes me to hypoglycemia. My doc has warned me that in his opionion, hypoglycemic's of today can become the diabetic's of tomarrow. Because of my "apple" shape and my weight gain around my middle, I feel strongly that I am insulin resistant, so by following a lc diet, I hope in a few months (or years) to reverse the insulin resistance, loose the fat and stablize my hypoglycemia to boot.

D, wow, I'd love to go to a lodge like your son is staying in this week!

YH, can't believe no one noticed your weight loss!

Todays menu:
atkins shake, slice of lc toast, smear of butter
lc yogurt
olive pimento cheese (homemade) on lettuce, small plum
grilled shrimp w/ cabbage, few onions, egg drop soup
two deviled eggs (hungry at bedtime).

Here's to staying at the lighter weight this week.

You seem to eat very little SC - surprised you are not losing faster, cant remember if you had a setback - I see you have the digital scale. Mine is too but just in lbs. I step on it at least 3 xs sometime 5 as it goes 1 lb diff. usually-majority wins The belly fat is bad - so hard to get rid of.

Sign me up for the lodge too D - that would be right up my alley-but no work for us ! Did you get to Curves Mon. ?

Back lousy on Monday again-called dr. and got a diff. anti inflammatory and pain pill called in, took those last nite -helped-giant headache this am from pills but I can deal with that. On week 2 of prozac-think I can tolerate ok, she said to do lower dose for 2 weeks then double next week. Don't notice much of anything with that yet but antidepressants usually take a while to get in your system. Went in the bed right after work and watched tv, started an hbo series on dvd call Big Love. Right now I feel I could do Curves after work, class unlikely, but not sure if I should push it with back-ill see how I feel later.

Maybe the boys did not notice weight but s2's gf is overweight so that could be it-not a good topic to bring up and just as well, S2 did not bring this gal around for a long time, I think he was embarrassed and worried about his brothers comments because she is not a skinny minny but that all worked out as she really is a nice gal. Oh yeah, skinny gal has surfaced again. Bad at work Mon.-went online shopping-bought 2 pr. of dressier Birkenstocks and some Lauren Hutton makeup.

Mon.
am-apples and strawberries
lunch-oatmeal w blueberries, tomato, kirby pickle
dinner-plain grilled bubba burger, green beans
snacks-fruiti-2, quaker cakes, 100 cal. sn. pac

What are you up to C and T ? I see K is missing in action.

YH, thank you for giving me a good laugh this morning. I forwarded the "toilet" right along to dh. I'm sure he'll get a kick out of it!

I'm sorry to hear the meds gave you a headache but I guess that's better than a backache. Yeah those anti-depressants do take several weeks before you get the full effect, so hopefully they will work even better as time goes on. I can understand why the boys wouldn't make a big hoopla out of your weight loss if gf is overweight. Actually, that is very thoughtful of them not to want to hurt her feelings like that.

Nice that you treated yourself even if it was a bad day at work. I can usually find any excuse to shop -- bad day, good day, trash day, whatever.

Potion did not get here yesterday. They usually are pretty prompt with their shipments. Hopefully it will come in today.

I bought some Weight Watchers sliced American cheese yesterday. It's 2.5 g fat, 1 carb and 45 calories (compared to Kraft 4.5 fat, 1 carb and 60 calories). Only 1 point on the WW plan. Do you use this cheese, YH? I had it with some lc crackers last night and it was quite good.

Yesterday's menu:

B-coffee
L-chicken, beef & broccoli
D-2 burgers, lettuce, broccoli, 1 bran cracker w/soy p'nut butter
S-4 pork rinds, 1 sl WW cheese, 2 lc crackers

No Curves yesterday. Friend was busy with company, and dh's "teeth" came in so he took the afternoon off to pick them up. We went out to lunch and did a little shopping too. He ended up getting yet another tooth pulled. This one was in the back of his mouth, not noticeable but of course now it's affecting the fit of his new plate. I just called and left message at dentist office to get another appt to have the plate re-fit.

SC, eating low-carb has done wonders for my sugar levels. I am on insulin and have cut my dosage more than in half since I started this WOE.

T & C, hope you're doing good. Missed your evening posts -- thank goodness for YH's reverse insomnia -- gives me something to read with my coffee every morning. Ds2 had homework to finish up on the computer this morning and it just about killed me to have to wait till he left for school before I could get to this board.

Another gorgeous day today. I look out my kitchen window and see my apple trees in full breathtaking bloom. The scale is being kind to me this week, so I am happy.

Have a great day ladies! D

Good morning!!

Speaking of shopping YH here's the info on the body shapers. My 2 favorite's are
Carol Wior Midriff Toner tank w/ belly band--came from QVC.(on line) It is for the belly & back and is the one that gives me such great back support. Since it only covers that portion of my body I wear it w/jeans or to work.
2nd is:
Underscore from JC Penney's store. This is the style that runs from under your bra to just above the knee. It rolls up & down easily so that you can go to the bathroom w/o a hassle. Wear this with everything as it just smooths you so nicely, no bra rolls etc. And I can't believe how comfortable it is.
These 2 I bought in larger size than I wear.

From the Avenue (womans plus size store--think the chain is all across the US but if not they sell on line)
I bought 2 of their AvenueBody tank style shapers, & they are really comfortable & are shaped nicely around your breasts. I've worn them w/o a bra under thicker sweaters with no problems--course I guess that doesn't matter to you in FL LOL!-- I bought their AvenueBody bra to thigh shaper & it was the one that I said rolls down all the time so it's a looser. I bought both of these in my regular size.

Then I have a panty up to bra style that I got first a couple years ago. It's also comfortable & works very well but of course I prefer the bra to thigh style as I have sooo much to smooth LOL!! It has never rolled down. It is a Cacique from Lane Bryant.
You've lost so much that the ones from the womens store probably wouldn't fit you but it tells you more about the styles. My favorite 2 run from small to 4/5X so you could get them ok.

I ordered the whole body one from the info commmercial that became so famous & it did the trick but I hardly ever wear it as it is horrible to get on!!!! What a struggle! Plus you could never get it down in public to go potty as you have to completely undress & then take an hour to pull it back up LOL!! There is a bathroom slit in it but how you could use it w/o getting yourself wet too is beyond me---so I call this one a looser plus it was the most expense one.
Hope all this is helpful to you. So hard to buy this stuff on line. I tried stuff on in the stores first to get my sizes & ideas together before I bought anything on line. Good luck! Think you will be surprised how comfortable they are now adays, plus how much they help.

Congrats to your ds for liking a girl for who she really is not just how cute she is! Or seeing that there are more than one style of cute! One of my friends son married a wonderful girl a couple years ago that is the sweetest thing on the planet. That's all she ever said about her was how wonderful she was & what a great wife she would make her son etc. When we went to the bridal shower we were all so shocked as here sat this must be 300lb girl.
Was like a movie love story ya know cause you know her son was really harassed by some of his friends over this gal. Matter of fact my friends husband had problems with her size for a long time, but then her wonderful personality finally won him over too. She had to have a custom made dress due to her size & of course the white made her look larger & I must admit it was interesting to see such a plus size bride, probably cause none of us had before. So it made the wedding something different & very special

My goodness I am blabby this morning
Glad to hear all seem to be eating pretty good.
D I remember reading in the SB book that lf was good w/dairy products. Think thats where I got messed up with lf fat dressings etc before, it was only dairy. I will try some as I use the cheese slices a lot with a slice of lf ham or tky. Am finishing up the nuts I have in the cupboard & then won't buy more but I really need something to fill that snacking gap.

What a mess w/dh's teeth....hope he finally gets it settled! Boy I sure would miss my being able to chew

Ok I'm off here to accomplish something. But I'll be back between loads of laundry etc

UPS just made a delivery to me! I immediately got my blender out and made up my drink potion -- choc protein powder, psyllium husk powder and the greens blend mixed with 8 oz water.

Verdict??? I was pleasantly surprised. No nasty taste at all. Went down very easy. I think the choc flavor added a little sweetness to make it more agreeable. Now it's not something I wanted more of after I finished it, but it's definitely do-able once a day. Whew. Thanks YH!!

Friend couldn't go to Curves today either so I'm tackling this house. Did a couple of loads of laundry and have really made a dent in the livingroom. Have the music blasting to 60's tunes and worked up quite the sweat so far. C, don't you dare tell me housework doesn't burn calories!!

Never had the WW cheese D - in fact never even noticed it- ill be looking next time. I am so happy the drink was a do-able-maybe that choc. took the nasty away. Now if you see foreign objects in the pot tommorrow don't get excited-at least not in your new love toilet. Sewer lines and the potion-a great combo. When C and I do housework we dont burn calories for some reason, hope you will ! Geez, another tooth and dh

Well C, a good laugh at work on the undergarments I dont know how I missed the whole body infomercial one, and a pee pee slit to boot ! I can just see you wrestling with that alligator ! Can you imagine going on a date and having some guy trying to ungadget you, I bet he would not call back . So I looked up the Carol Wior one, looks comfy but won't work with the sphaghetti straps on the maybe dress. Then went to the Penny's site and think I saw the one you are talking about but I think the leg would be too long for that dress, I did see Underscore extra firm hi waist brief that may work, who knows if comfy.

Back to work....

Well, I see I have missed quite a lot missing just one day again--toilets, teeth, and a catalog of body shapers complete w/pee-pee sluts, oh I meant to type...WHAT?! Ok, better clean it up, gals! Y'all are trippin me out!

Looks like everyone had a very nice Mother's Day. D, I sure wouldn't turn that dark chocolate over to my dh! Haven't you heard dark choc is the new health food? Lower is sugar, and full of antioxidants! Maybe you could have just a tiny taste once in awhile? I'm a chocoholic. The lc choc I have is dark, and very good. I have to have some every day!

Y, I didn't know Birkenstocks came in dressy! Do you have foot problems too? I have to wear orthotics and they only fit in certain old lady style shoes, bummer. What kind of shoes are you going to wear to the wedding? So sad to hear your back is still giving you trouble, but you sure seem to get good response from your docs. I have to get down on my hands and knees and crawl begging for mercy to get my docs to throw me a bone. Climbing into bed and watching Big Love is my idea of heaven. Did you like it? I got addicted to it and can't wait til next season. BTW, what is a bubba burger?

SC, you are wise to get your hypoglycemic tendencies under control now. I think I did have that when I was a lot younger, and Atkins does say in DANDR that it can lead to diabetes. Did you make the homemade olive pimento cheese? That sounds so yummy, and reminds me of my childhood when we used to eat the pimento cheese in the jars. A lot of people thought it was yucky, but I could sure enjoy some now! How would you make that?

C, who knew there were so many esoteric elastic undergarments to be had! I am in awe of you! Do you wear a lot of dresses? I haven't worn a dress or pantyhose in years, probably because they make me look fatter, and I can't wear the shoes to go with them. But this is fascinating. I am now quite interested in trying one of these marvelous inventions, especially after reading your detailed descriptions! You could get a job writing ads for these garments, C! Thanks!

D, I got a kick out of imagining you dancing around the house cleaning up to 60's music! That's got to be more fun than Curves, and I definitely believe it will burn mucho calories! And what fun the magic potion turned out to be--worth waiting for! Well now, I am getting blabby; that's what happens when you miss a day!

Dh's chicken wasn't thawed out yesterday, so he wanted to go out AGAIN . But we went to a nice place down by the beach boardwalk where you can sit and watch people playing volleyball, see the sailboats gliding by and look at the pier. And I did OK, stayed lc, and sat there while he ate dessert without taking a bite, ho-hum. Here's yesterday's menu:

B - bacon, egg yolk, spinach
L - salad, 2 shrimp enchiladas, no tortillas, lc choc
D - cup of lobster bisque, 1/2 beef filet, asparagus, cauliflower, little carrot
S - almonds, string cheese (was still hungry at bedtime!)

Take care, all you lovely ladies! T.

Yup T, I have the old lady feet, very wide and have a hard time with shoes, the last formal thing I went to I wore ballet slippers, they make dressy brks but not as nice as a reg. shoe. Actually the one I deal with is the nurse practioner for pills, she is great, I only got to see the dr. once since ive been at the place. I research this pill that pill then call her to call it in. What is this lc dark choc. , I love dk. choc. plain.

This would be good; a super slimming control top pantyhose, I see spanx makes one but not sure if it would really pull the belly in, C has me researching this stuff now Yes, C would be great in sales of smoothers

I was bad last nite, bf was home too so that did not help. Today is famous gyn appt for ladies exam that I have not had in years. D-did you have any bathroom issues this am from the potion ?

am-grapes and tangerines, potion
lunch- salad w 1 babybel
dinner-kielbasa with mashed potatoes (used smart balance)
snacks- quaker cakes, 100 cal snack pack, ice cream, 3-fruities.

Good morning ladies!
Yesterday was my day off & I got lots done cause I stayed home.... Had my hair cut last nite but that's every 3 weeks & she just does the same cut. Mon. nite water class was good. Have 3 more to go. Not sure about sigining up for the next round. Would have to go to another school. Plus friend I go w/is pregnant & I was hoping to get to the hand doc which might mean I couldn't go to the next round, so we'll see. When I finally got the disc in the 'puter last night & looked up microvascular doc she's not on my insurance plan--so I need to talk w/my doc's office again. Good thing I checked before I made the appt & got the first round of bills....had that happen at the dentists last yr---told the gal about our new insurance & she said they took it. When I started getting bills & called office it turned out they didn't. Was pretty mad. They reduced the fees & told us to take all the time we needed to pay but it was frustrating. YH I loved the nurse practioner, always preferred to talk w/her over the doc. With my new doc now she's actually great but in between visits you still talk to the np.

Yeah the smoothers are quite the subject
After I got the first one & it was so comfortable I started looking for more. That's how I ended up with the different styles. T I only wear a dress for a wedding or funeral I am usually in a tee shirt or simple top & jeans or pants. Sun's for church it's the same pair of dress black slacks w/ a different blouse/sweater. With jeans the bottom doesn't need anything but the top does. Hate having my bra line show & then the roll under it in the back. In the front it's always nice to smooth the tummy as much as possible. In the the lighter pants or dress slacks you can see the thigh fat jiggle or sometimes see the cellulite--yuck! Then I wear the longlines. It really makes a difference. Course that's why it all ended up on Oprah LOL! I already had 2 by the time she had her show. Think Spanx was the brand she was showing. Good luck YH. Unerwear shopping is like shoe shopping to me---a necessary evil. I always go alone cause I have to try on 40 million to get the right fit & your friend is bored to tears by then

The dark choc has to be at least 70% to have all the good antioxidents. The darker the better. Dh likes it around 80-92%. Tastes like baking choc to me by that point. But he has 2 squares & a glass of red wine each nite.

Glad you were able to get the drink concoction down D!! I'm sure it will be very healthy for you! I enjoy on SB that you can have a glass of V8 each day. Love V8 & I know I don't eat the variety of veggies that your body needs.

Ok what is this series called Big Love??

I had a big wonderful BAGEL yesterday!! Was so good. I toasted it, put lots of butter on it, & ate it slowly to enjoy each chewy bite!! Decided if I was gonna have it I wasn't going to wolf it down standing in front of the fridg LOL! It really satisfied me & I didn't then go thru the rest of the day eating every starch I could find.

I too hate panty hose T--that's one of the ways I got into the other garments. When I was the Liz Claiborne rep
at Lord & Taylor's 6yrs ago I had to dress nicer & just hated the panyhose, especially the control top--they were so uncomfortable! So I got into wearing the thigh hi's & knee hi's with the different undergarments. And your lunch on the boardwalk sounded like something out of a movie!! Did you hold hands & give each other sly loving smiles between courses??

Ok today is my long day so I need to get a move on & get my cooler packed. Have a great day all

Oh C, a bagel?? You're killing me here. You made it sound so good, I was drooling! I LOVE bagels. Such a challenge for me since ds2 has one almost everyday for breakfast. But the carbs -- the ones we have here are 55 carbs for one regular size bagel and that would kill my sugars. That's like 2 whole days of carbs for me. But don't think I didn't think about it! As soon as I read your post, I looked at the label to figure it out, thinking I could maybe have a sm piece. Yeah right.....maybe 1/16th of a bagel might not raise my sugars too high but who could eat 1/16th of a bagel??? Plus how could I fit that teeny tiny piece into the toaster???

Thanks for the info on the drk chocolate. I read the pkg and these are only 60% drk choc and are 7 carbs for one sm pc, so no good for me. I do love drk choc though. Dh thinks it's bitter but I think it's so rich tasting. I may have to throw a couple of pieces out before ds1 gets home from work Fri night (to make it look like I ate some!) and then let him finish them off over the wkd.

I messed up my day yesterday drinking that potion a little before 11 am. I had skipped breakfast and intended to eat lunch but the potion really filled me up for about 4 or more hours. Then I was starving before supper, so I had a late afternoon snack. I made cornish hens for supper but I'll tell ya, it just looked too much like my little outdoor birdie friends that I couldn't eat much. I was still hungry so I ended up scrambling a couple of eggs with spinach because I was afraid I'd get into some "illegal" things if I didn't get something filling in me.

Yesterday's menu:

B-coffee
L-drink potion
S-string cheese, 2 sl WW cheese, 1 lc cracker
D-cornish hen, cauliflower, lettuce
S-1 sl WW cheese, 2 lc crackers, 2 eggs, spinach

I've heard of Spanx before, is that what you are talking about? I don't think I could get into those till I lose another 100 lbs!! I'm just picturing me with them around my ankles and tugging, tugging, tugging, but not being able to get them up around my fat belly and butt!! Now C, if you come up with something like your vacuum storage bag system, where I just attach the hose and can suck all the fat out of my body......then you come talk to me!!

Just called my friend and she still has company so no Curves today. I'm disappointed but not enough that I want to make that hour's drive each way by myself!! My house still needs a lot of cleaning, so we'll get that music blasting again today and get it done! I think I burn off more calories than C & YH because my house is so much messier than their's and it takes a lot more hard work to clean mine.

Heard a ruckus outside yesterday and went out to find a bunch of birds eating Hannah's dog food on the deck. I guess that was their way of telling me to fill the birdfeeder! I took some pictures of the wildlife....the llamas, sheep and burros were outside in the pasture and a couple of bunnies were jumping around in my yard. I'd love to post a picture here but I don't know how to do it. Do any of you know how to??

YH, I haven't finished my coffee so no surprises yet, but you'll be the first one to hear about it, you can count on it! Good luck at your dr appt. I am overdue on that one too but I just cannot do it till I lose more weight. Last NP I saw was a young gal and she wanted to give me a pap on the spot. I told her no, I wasn't "prepared." She argued and argued with me, even called a nurse in the room, I guess thinking 2 ppl could intimidate me but I still refused. She finally told me that if I didn't strip down and get on the table, she was going to "write me up." What was next -- a spanking?? I told her she could write whatever she wanted but I wasn't doing it. Poor gal didn't know what she was up against but let's just say that my feet never touched those stirrups!

Well on that lovely visual, I think I will stop the rambling here and end this. Have a great day ladies!! D

P.S. (I know, I know -- with such a long post, do I really need a P.S.???)

T, congrats to you on passing up dessert!! I know how challenging that was for you. I have to say -- I'm really impressed with how you've changed your whole attitude these past few weeks. You're eating so healthy and getting more exercise in and you just sound so much happier these days. I hope that means your new meds are working and the pain is letting up some! Your day sounds so picturesque. I would love to sit on the boardwalk and watch the sailboats. Sounds so nice!! And that lobster bisque...mmmm...

Well that was quite the doc's visit story D
Dh is laying on the sofa listening to me crow w/laughter wanting to know what's so funny.....I'm like, you just wouldn't get it!

Bought some lc stuff today & I hate the cost but I needed to get a few things. I remembered some ck fingers/tenders I use to make that I just loved & of course could even dip in a little ranch. But that meant I had to make up the lc flour mix & the ingredients aren't cheap.
Then I paid almost 5$ for a jar of spaghetti sauce that had no added sugar!! Hunt's use to have it when lc was the craze. Found the pickles that I liked so much & they were almost $5. Found some lite Havarti & it was almost $5 too. But I love Havarti & was really hoping for good things. It is pretty good--not as creamy as the regular but all in all worth the money & I will buy again. The brand I found a couple years back wasn't worth the price. Bought 3 SB protein bars at $1.79ea to have in the car. Ate one for lunch about 4:30 & it was decent. Main thing was it really satisfied me all thru that 2nd client until I got home around 7:30 & threw some JennyO Tky brautwurst on the grill. They are good but I liked the HoneySuckle White better. I have to buckle down as I'm only a couple weeks away from being back at this for a YEAR & I'm only about 14lbs less....that's like a lb a month. That's beyond too slow---don't want this to take me 3yrs.

Hope you can get the pic's posted D! I don't have a clue

Yeah we need to find a good dark choc that's made w/splenda. I'm on the look out. Good idea on the choc that ds gave you. Don't want to hurt their feelings!

You did well to catch things yesterday D & just eat extra eggs & spinach!! No harm done--wasn't like you ate a bagel....

Today's menu:
Bkf-coffee w/cream running late no time to eat
L=2 ham rolled up w/2 slices of cheese 15 almonds
S=SB protein bar
D=2 tky brautwurst & 2 pickles
S=2 ham slices w/1 cheese stick 1/2C cott.cheese 1/2C berries

Yeah, yeah, C, go ahead and dangle that bagel in front of me. Such a meanie!!

Your menu looked great. I can't imagine you not losing weight this week but how will you know?? Are you going by the fit of your clothes or did you dig your scale out of the basement?? I hate my scale when it's not showing any loss, but I love it when the numbers go down.

It kills me too that these darn lc things cost so much. I hate to spend that much $$ on food, but I've told myself that it's my own darn fault for letting myself get this big and now I need to lose the weight -- at whatever cost. Hopefully once we reach goal, maintaining our weight will be a little cheaper. I imagine the junk food we used to consume cost extra too but we didn't worry about that, did we??

Just got back from a cemetery board meeting. Now our little town only holds them once a year but I learned my lesson on not going. I missed one 2 yrs ago and they voted me secretary in my absence and I haven't been able to get rid of the job yet!! So I show up, take minutes and notes, and put my notebook away for another yr. The guys will get together next week to mow the cemetery lawn, paint the sign, spruce things up in preparation for Memorial Day, which is when the American Legion performs a little ceremony for the vets buried there. The meeting only lasted 45 min but let me tell you, my dh and I were the youngest ones there, BY FAR, and we are 48 and 47. In fact, I think if dh had taken his new teeth plate out, he still would have had more teeth than several of those guys combined!

I'm going to look for those turkey bratwurst. Dh and ds2 like to grill brats but I usually make something else for myself as they are so fatty. Might be nice to join them for once. Is Honeysuckle White a name brand or is that your store brand? I'm sure I could find the Jenny-O if I can't find the other.

YH, I need to figure out another time to have this drink potion. It suppresses my hunger for hours and hours -- no kidding. I think maybe it's the protein powder doing that?? I had it for breakfast and wasn't hungry for lunch till late afternoon and even at that point, all I wanted was a snack!! Messes up my whole day because then I don't eat a good supper and am starving later on in the night. Maybe I need to have it later in the afternoon and it will help me not to snack at night. I don't think it's really gone thru me fully yet, if you know what I mean. I'll keep you posted on that.

Today's menu:

B-coffee, drink potion
L-2 sl salami, 1 sl WW cheese
D-2 scrambled eggs, spinach, salad
S-4 olives, 2 bran crackers w/cream cheese

Top Chef is on tonight so I hope I don't get a snack craving when I watch it! Maybe that's when I should have my drink potion -- so I won't go crazy eating while I'm watching tv!!

Have a good night ladies! D

Wow, D, with the new drink eliminating your hunger for so long, and just eating things like scrambled eggs and spinach for dinner, I bet you'll see a big drop soon! Your menus look incredible; I wish I could not have to eat so much, I just get so hungry. I don't know how you do it, especially when you are so active!

The wildlife would be so fun to see, but I don't know how to get a picture into the text. I see others doing it, though, so I know it can be done.

I was feeling pretty chipper, D, but I don't know what happened today--full of pain and fatigue. But I'm sure this will pass; I think I actually overdid it at the gym and have got a little too sore and tired. So maybe that's a good thing.

For any of you who are wanting a tasty lc dark choc bar you can order them from Netrition; they have a big variety. I personally like the Ross dark choc bars. They are only 2 g. for a whole bar, and I find that 1/4 to 1/2 a bar is enough, so that's only .5 to 1 g. of carbs, and 45 to 90 cals. Some people are sensitive to the maltitol and get gas, but I think that doesn't happen if you don't eat too much.

C, I am not down as much as I would like to be for being on this site for almost a year, either. But you and I both know that if we hadn't been here, we'd probably be the same or more than we weighed a year ago! So congrats on weighing less than last year, and KUPTGW!

No, dh and I did not exchange romantic glances at the romantic restaurant. It's more fun watching the happy folks walking on the beach and playing volleyball! We're too old for that anyway! We spent more time counting the number of poodles that went by! Now that's when you know you're really getting old!

Y, I see gals young and old wearing ballet slippers out here, and they look darling. Guess you probably want to wear some kind of heels with your black dress though, huh? Hope your gyn exam went better than D's! I guess the tests you had at the hospital recently all came out OK? Hope your back is better, too.

C, is your friend who is expecting the one you often go to lunch with who has the baby? Hope you can find a good doc to do your hand surgery and is covered by your ins.

I went to the dietician today. She was impressed that I was able to get my sugar down so low by eating real low carb, but of course she asked the inevitable question--how long can you keep this up? She'd rather have me add some carbs, even a little dessert after lunch, and be satisfied with a slower weight loss. But it's so slow already without adding more carbs! I think I have to eat real low carb just to not gain! So I did have some fruit today. Maybe if I only have it at lunch it will work out. It does not make my sugar go up, but just slows the losses. I have to keep reminding myself this is a lifestyle, not a quick weight loss diet. Yesterday's menu:

B - egg yolk, bacon, spinach
L - little cr of asparagus soup, salad w/turkey, salami, lc choc
D - roast chicken, okra
S - string cheese, almonds

Have a good night, everyone! T.

C - you had me drooling over the thought of a buttered bagel at work - I used to buy them every week and had to stop that too, sometimes I pick a couple up for s3 and bf. And your right-everything I put in the grocery cart is like 5.00 or more ! I was thinking of that the last 2 shopping trips. Our gal. of milk is 5.00 too. You are back on tract now and you will lose more than a lb. a month ! Just hang in there. Your doing good. I got a lunchtime special email from no nonsense and ended up ordering 3 pr. of super control top panty hose and a shaper, I buy my pantyhose from them that are comfy for me but dont pull you in that much, I have varicose veins and the pantyhose seem to help and now that my office is 50 degrees its ok - whip em off before I leave work. Not too hopeful of making it into cocktail dress but you never know-did not anticipate exercise stall because of back. The spanx super duper p.hose got not so good reviews, a run at 25.00 a pr ! Plus someone said there is a seam in the front and if you wear a fitted item it shows thru.

Sorry your not feeling so hot T - I think counting dogs would be romantic. BF and I use to have breakfast on the beach weekly but since they have redone FT. Laud. beach area way too pricey. Thanks for the tip on the chocolate, Ive been meaning to place an order there but geez this weight loss is getting pricey Well see how it goes with the fruit but you have to do what you think is best, if I followed WW to the T I would not lose weight like I have been-suppose to have so much dairy, oils, etc. and theres not enough pts. for my snacks then and I think I would blow it without those dang snacks.

Yes D, its the choc. thats making it a meal replacement, I have the vanilla whey that I only use in it when I want it to be that, try it without the choc, then at the the times you want it to be a replacement use the choc. Your brand of greens may be tastier as they are all diff. Maybe you wont have the initial bathroom experience as you had the psy. pills you were taking. I thought of your story D at the gyn yesterday as he says " I do a rectal exam too unless you object " Now he says he wants me to have a pelvic ultrasound since he can't feel my ovaries and would like me to have my vit. D level checked which would mean a trip to that lab place again So I left with the test scripts and this will be on the backburner.

Now im leaving the gyn office and hairgal calls and says can you come in today instead of next week so I said ok and drove right over, she did like a chestnut base ( red still coming thru but not real bad ) and a few hi-lites. So will see how I like it in a week or after pool. I like it better than what it was. Oh yeah, the scale at the gyn. was 5 pounds less than mine. I got to laugh at all the scales but my conclusion is gym scales are high or accurate, giant scale at food mart is way high, and dr.s scales are low My back is better today so I want to start exercising. I did not get home till 800 last nite and was bad. I overheard s3 on phone and his friend is flying in tonite from TN and am pretty sure he is staying here, will not tell BF ahead of time.

Wed.
am-orange and grapefruit
lunch-oatmeal w blueberries, 1 babybel
dinner-leftover kielbasa and mash pot.
snack- fruiti, 2 sourdough pretzels

Good morning!! Have 10 minutes so...
Yes D Honeysuckle is a brand name for turkey. Whole, ground, & the different style sausages. Prices between it & JennieO are pretty much the same I think.
Thanks for the dark choc info T. Think the bulk food store by me cares that brand in their sf section. Your day at the boardwalk still sounds like a lot of fun--poodles & all! I love to people watch too.
Let us know how the new undies work with the coctail dress YH. And girl you are visiting too many scales Are you planning your weekend escape already?? Let the guys have the condo & fight it out LOL!!
I can see where the protein drink is keeping you full D--the protein bars hold you for quite a spell too. Always surprises me when I haven't had one in a long time & then I do & go for hours. Maybe I should consider it for the pm eating too.
Those ballet slip ons come in really fancy styles YH. A friend got a fancy pair to wear under her long dress that she wore in a wedding a few weeks back.
And yes the newly pregnant friend is the same friend w/ the 17mo T. All my other friends are too old to have babies---they are like YH who has lost her ovaries--LOL!! I lost mine too thru surgery
Ok gotta run
