Well I am back from my water class--after working in the yard today I am pretty tired. Had my dish of berries & a large glass of ice tea & am wanting to show some self discipline by having nothing else tonight.

Well YH that was a nasty round! I wouldn't give up my earrings--you've earned 'em LOL!!! Over the last couple years I've gotten over a lot of that stuff, as D said I caved on things all the time in years past & I'm an ole bat now & am not losing out on my gold earrings!!
When 1 of the gal's from Euchre card club make a joke about being able to look down in the shower & see her pu&&y again it went dead silent for about 15 seconds & then we all just fell apart & laughed ourselves silly!!! I'd like to be able to cut my toe nails & tie my shoes w/o turning purple in the face.....

So how was your trip D? So good that you are able to do things for the kids--these make such good memories
When I'm on track I have survived quite a few things w/a bag of almonds & a protein bar. But I do love wild rice soup & grilled cheese...LOL!!

Am hoping to get up tomorrow & do my walk off the lbs dvd. Have to get more serious w/the exercise I know. Am thinking about digging out just one something that is tight that I would enjoy wearing & try it on as my gauge since the scale & I parted on bad terms. Checked out the Callenetics on Amazon.com & they didn't have any used & I didn't want to pay 20some $$'s. The library didn't have any & neither did Blockbuster.

Well it's almost 11 so I need to set up the coffee pot & pack G's lunch.

Oh, Y, that is so sad about bf and the earrings! And ranting on about the ac and fighting w/ds. It's just a terrible shame--doesn't anybody there care about YOU? Well, I guess exercise is good at working some of these tensions out--did you have a chance to go to curves or the gym today? Re your travel plans; I think I asked you before, but please pardon my terrible memory--is it WI you're going to visit relatives? Maybe you should just stay and leave bf and ds to fend for themselves! (No wonder you ate pretzels and goldfish; although that wasn't very bad, you could have done a lot worse! )

C, glad you had a beautiful sunny day and got some yardwork done. Does this mean your hands are feeling better now? The creamy swiss steak recipe sounds super-yum! And yes, I'd love the gruyere egg dish recipe, if it's easy for you to give it. Eggs are actually one thing I can cook! Hope you've been able to get back on track!

D, those kids are sure lucky to have you drive them up there. It sounds like a beautiful spot. You were wise to bring along a snack in case there wasn't much to choose from for lunch. Hope you found something that fit the plan. We can't let ourselves get the idea we can cheat "just this once," can we? We know where that leads! Hope you had a lovely day with all the kids; I bet it was fun.

I stayed on plan today again, but was starving all day. And the scale hasn't moved for me, either. I rode the bike 30 minutes this afternoon, so I am hoping that will help. If that doesn't do it, I will get out my dandelion tincture, which acts as a diuretic. Maybe the meds are making me retain water. Yesterday's menu:

B - chili-apple sausage, egg, spinach
L - Greek salad, meatballs
D - roast chicken, crookneck squash, asparagus
S - string cheese, almonds

Nite, everyone! T.

I hope the acadamy meeting went good for you D - good thing you brought your ditty bag. And the location sounds wonderful ! I hope you try the greens D - all the brands taste diff. but its not a big deal-its just harder with the husk powder as that makes it grainy and you dont have to add that until your ready or not at all- you could put it in anything like yogurt, applesauce, you dont have to drink it but to me its easier, faster and down the hatch real fast !

C-if you still have a vhs player you can find the Callanetics tapes dirt cheap - I know the dvd's are pricey. My library will do inter library loans from other states but you would have to speak to librarian. I get stuff from all over the US. Sounds like your doing well with the exercise, great ! Are you working part time now ???

Hang in there T - you are doing well and that scale will start moving, just thing of the starving children in India I told the boys that one when they were little. My niece is getting married in June in WI - I have 3 brothers there and old girlfriends-this is another beer belly wedding where I got the comments last year about how fat I got when her sister (other niece got married).

Not doing good with exercise, zero Sunday, hurt back moving a box at work yesterday so layed with heating pad Mon.nite and took pain pills, and now on computer with meltbelt on back and in pain, and Wed. is day at hospital for tests. This will be no good for weight but don't have much choice, I layed on the floor last nite it was so bad. I am so sick of this on / off back but thats life. I was stupid to move that box at work. The littlest thing can set it off -even a laundy basket.

Then s1 calls me at work and needs immediate contact exam as he is blind as a bat and I got ripped paying 170 for exam only from one of these fake 99.00 ads for exam and contacts-he needs special toric lenses and balh, blah and I had a big argument on the phone with eye place but would not give him the script unless I pd. Ughhh...at least he left with a trial pr. and can order on line. Then BF was calling all day and said he would like to buy me a matching tote for my luggage ! I may take your advice and keep the earrings and let him buy me the other piece I told him to use the money for electric again very calmly and just said I can't take him causing additional stress here withs s3 and he was totally out of line with the ac. Then on the way home my fan for the ac in the car takes a dump-so I will try to stop at a mechanic place after work today-no ac in car in Fl-can't do that. I am takin a heating pad to work with me today

Mon

am- berries, tangerine,red grapes
lunch-slimfast
dinner-pk. chops and green beans
snack-l.c ice cream sand, fruiti, pretzels

The witch spoke to me as I got stuck with her in the elevator and said she yelled " I wont be in Tues. and I better not give her any work "! I dole out the work everyday for the other 3 gals and myself .

Well life is surely a up & down ride!! And that's why those of us who stress eat are in trouble
Glad that bf used idea of buying you matching tote to apologize YH, & yes I'd accept it! Sorry about your air, I know that is a must have in FL. What a grand thing that you get to go back to this years wedding looking all thin & wonderful!! Do you have your clothes for the trip/wedding all picked out??

Yes I am on part time now. My Tues/Fri lady changed her schedule & so I chose to not fill those time slots. Trying to give my hands a rest to see how that helped. On the days I'm careful not to use them much--which is a joke cause we all use our hands non stop--they are a little better, but as soon as I do a regular day they're toast again....so I have to get a grip & go to the doc. I wear my elastic braces during the day & then the metal ones at nite. So yes doing the yard work probably didn't help them but it was stuff that had to be done. Am not doing flowers etc this year as they aren't neccessary. In the water class I skip the last 2 exercises as they kill my hands, even though they are good for our flabby upper arms & I sure can use that!

Am off to my friends today to make press cookies.....she is the young friend home w/her baby enjoying all the things we did at that age & I really do enjoy hanging out with her. The baby is great But she is also the friend that is Japanese & eats so healthy. So we will have a good lunch & have 2 cookies probably. So no chance I can go hog wild.

Well need to quit the blab & get on to my laundry & some business calls before I head out the door.

Count me in on that stress eating! Got into it last night and could not stop.

Lot more walking than I bargained for yesterday but I enjoyed myself so much, I am glad I went. Lunch was the biggest ordeal...large squares of hamburg PIZZA, bag of chips, choc chip cookie, baby carrots, diced peaches in what looked like light syrup. Ugh. I didn't even bother taking the chips or cookie, no way could I deal with those. I hadn't had time to eat breakfast so I was starving but determined to stay on plan no matter what. I felt funny about pulling out my snacks -- knew there would be lots of questions if I did that -- so I ate the topping only off the pizza, no dough or crust, 2 sm spoonfuls of peaches and 3 baby carrots. We kept busy the whole day so I had no chance to snack till the way home when the kids wanted to stop for ice cream. I grabbed an ice tea and a cheese stick at the store and had that while they all gobbled down their treats. Of course I was starving when I got home so I made up a few shrimp & 1/2 cup of broccoli figuring I really hadn't eaten lunch yet so that was technically my lunch even though it was 3 pm. I had asked dh to pick me up a rotisserie chicken or some deli turkey breast so I was anxiously waiting for him to get home from the dentist. I called several times but he wasn't picking up his phone so I was getting annoyed. He walks in the door a couple of hours later with NOTHING for me for supper. I was so mad. He said they didn't have the chicken or turkey breast at the one store he stopped at. So instead of calling to ask if he could get me something else or checking at another store, he came home with fried chicken, which he KNOWS I cannot eat.

Then the phone rings before I even had a chance to ask about his dentist appt and it was his sister asking "how many teeth did he have pulled?" What?? I had no idea he was getting teeth pulled. I was appalled to find out that dh had the dentist pull a FRONT tooth. He already has a false front tooth so to pull the tooth next to it means that he had to give up his current plate for them to add another tooth to it and now he has this HUGE toothless gap smack in the front of his mouth till the new plate is made, probably a week or so. I know this sounds so shallow but we have an FFA banquet to attend tonight and four graduation parties this wkd. What was dh thinking doing it this week??!!! He looks terrible and I am so mad at him for making a major decision like that without consulting me first or getting a 2nd opinion from another dentist. He told me it was HIS idea to pull the tooth, not even the dentist's!! Plus I am mad that he discussed this with his sister and not ME. So now I was furious and starving -- major problem because I am a big-time stress-eater. I was so hungry and mad that I peeled off all the breading and ate one pc of chicken and then regretted it immediately. I made a couple of hardboiled eggs to eat later because I was still so hungry (probably more emotional than hungry at this point). Of course, add my pms to all this and I was stress-eating all night.

Yesterday's menu:

B-coffee
S-topping off hamburg pizza, 2 tsp diced peaches, 3 baby carrots, cheese stick, ice tea
L-shrimp and broccoli
D-chicken, egg salad, lc flatbread
S-almonds, 2 string cheese, 4 mini pickles, 8 olives -- finally went to bed so I wouldn't eat anymore!!

I am off to get my nails done today and do some shopping. I think I am going to buy myself some new clothes and spend lots of $$ and see how dh likes ME making some decisions without telling him!! (The killer is that I am still so mad at him and he's sending me jokes from work right now. Ugh, men have no clue sometimes.)

I will write more later about my fabulous day yesterday --- BEFORE I got home.

Have a good one ladies!! D

Geez D, you had crackin up about the hamburg Pizza and that whole ordeal But all in all im proud of you-you did pretty good considering the day you had ! And dh-what was he thinking ? And a front tooth on top of that, now ive had one front tooth gone for 30 yrs. but a bridge was done for that. Is a plate the same as a bridge ? I would be really ticked too-he probably told the dentist to do it-there is so many things they can do these days, ughhhh. Sending you jokes-maybe him and bf are related !

I have nothing to wear to the wedding-im sure that will be a last minute panic-there is sure to be something in the piles and boxes-just no initiative, time, peace, energy, etc. to deal with it. Great you are still part time. I think you need the surgery and get it over with - I think the braces would drive me nuts. I hope you had a nice day with GF.

My day is lousy-back still hurting-left work early-dealt with car issue and BF here as he did not go to work. No clue as to whats for dinner-ill tell s3 to get something for himself and ask bf if he wants scrambled eggs i guess. The garbage is piled high in the kitchen as no one can take it out and im not doing it with my back. Geez ! All I had today so far is an apple, drink potion and a protein drink so im starving now. I feel a major snack attack tonite, ughh.

Finally home! I feel like I haven't stopped to breathe all day.

I decided to treat myself today since I needed a pick-me-up to get out of my bad mood. I got my nails done and a haircut too. I bought myself a new blouse and tanktop to wear under it and a new pr of sandals. Dh is lucky I couldn't find anything else in my size because I was in a spending mood. I also bought a new scale. My other one was driving me crazy, every time I stepped on it the last few days, I got a different number, within a matter of seconds even.

YH, I hope you did okay with the snacking tonight. You hardly ate anything today!! I did pretty good. Stole the last 2 pcs of bacon for breakfast and was on the go at lunchtime and didn't want to hit a fast food place so I bought some deli turkey breast and babybels and had those in the store parking lot. Ds2 had an FFA Banquet tonight so we ate supper there, which was potluck, but fortunately there was a good variety of food and I was able to stay on plan. I made a pasta salad and C's buffalo chicken to bring with us (per ds2's request -- he loves that recipe!). I did cave and let dh come to the banquet but told him he could not smile or talk to anyone.

Today's menu:

B-2 sl bacon, coffee
L-4 sl deli turkey breast, 2 babybels
D-1 baked chicken thigh (no skin), 2 sm pcs chicken buffalo tenders, 2 sl ham, salad
S- NONE!!!

YH, I hope your back is feeling better soon. I think you should go and treat yourself to a new outfit for the wedding. You deserve a reward for all your hard work and weight loss! For what it's worth, I think you should keep those earrings and take the tote too!!!

C, how did the cookies come out? What kind did you make?? I'm glad you're enjoying your swimming classes but I wish your hands felt better.

T, your menus are looking great and I'm so happy you're staying on plan. That scale will move soon hopefully -- I can definitely relate!! Stay motivated!!!

Oh I had so much fun yesterday. I'll try not to bore you with too many details but you know how I can ramble, so feel free to skip ahead....There were 5 different schools that went to this Leadership Academy; each school sent only a few kids to represent them so about 30 kids altogether. They did some indoor stuff as far as teaching the kids how to write resumes and breaking up into groups to judge resume samples, do's and don'ts. We watched a slideshow presentation on a career fair. Then we went outside onto a grassy area and they did an exercise where they broke up into groups and each group had to tangle together holding hands and then figure out how to "untangle" without letting go. Involved a lot of crawling up and over other kid's arms and bodies and very funny to watch! Then they did an exercise where teams of 4 got on the ground and they had to "build" a square where they all touched each other (overlapping of legs and lower body parts) and then push up on their arms and raise their "squares" from the ground. These exercises involved teamwork, leadership skills, problem-solving, etc. We ventured down some paths into the woods to the "Trust" course where they had a giant tractor tire hanging high from a tree. Everyone stood on one side and had to get the entire group, one by one, thru the tire and onto the other side but you couldn't go to the other side to help until you had been put thru the tire. Which meant getting a couple of the bigger boys thru first so they could "catch" the others. Oh what fun that was watching. Those skinny girls went thru the tire so fast, I was afraid the kids on the other side wouldn't catch them! Some of the kids got stuck trying to go feet first instead of head first so it was pretty comical. This was a trust exercise, where you had to trust that your friends could lift you up on one side & get you thru and trust that your friends on the other side would catch you. Then they went thru a course where there were several bricks on the ground and you had to make it from one brick to the other by laying long 8 ft planks of wood. If you fell off the planks, you had to start over. But you could only use 3 planks and so that meant getting kids across partway and then passing a plank back to get the rest of the kids, while they tried to stay balanced. That involved some arguments about what was the best way but they finally got it LOL. After that, the kids were "treated" to the zip line. For those of you who don't know what this lovely treat is....you get into a harness that goes around your waist and thighs, wear a helmet, climb some stairs up a hill, grab onto a line and zip across a valley to the other side. Yikes! But the kids loved it and were hanging upside down or with no hands as they zipped across. Yep, that was a confidence builder exercise for sure!! Afterwards we went back indoors for a graduation ceremony where everyone read their surveys and opinion sheets out loud and received their diplomas and t-shirts. We made one last stop for pictures outdoors and then we were on our way. I had several of the instructors thank me for getting our kids to this last class but I think I had just as much fun as they did.

Tomorrow I go to Curves. Haven't been seen last Wed so I need it. Tomorrow night I have a sorority meeting.

Well I better get to bed here. Good night ladies. D

Hey YH, just wanted to say good luck with your tests today.

I don't know that plate is the right word, just what I call it. Looks like a pink plastic mold that fits to the roof of dh's mouth with a tooth attached. Rather than make a whole new one, they just attach another tooth to this one I guess. Reminds me of the retainer I had to wear (minus the tooth) after my braces many yrs ago!!

Well that day was most certainly for the young!! Even though now that I say that I realize that's not true--a friends son had a couple jobs in a row where he set up weekends for companies that took their white collar workers thru all confidence/team building exercises like that. Had something to do w/his college degree believe it or not, plus all her boys love mt climbing & all kinds of wild dangerous outdoor games. Think w/the changing economy companies aren't spending money on such weekends & he's ended up working something totally different. I'd quit my job before I'd zip across the valley
LOL!!
Aren't we getting good at eating in the car to stay on track With my colonoscopy I found I have diverticulitus (sp?) & you are not to have any nuts or popcorn. Love popcorn & it can be a healthy high fiber snack and of course nuts are a lc main stay. Will probably still eat them as I only have around 11 nuts, just have to make sure I chew 'em up really good. But nuts & a cheese stick in the car has saved me many a time
Yesterday was so much fun. We made press cookies as she had bought the press on sale & hadn't used it yet. I ate one cookie the size of a quarter. We made the frosting & piping it onto the cookies was the trickier part & Sara woke up at that point so that was the end of the cookies LOL!! But we took a nice bike ride to the park w/Sara & playing on the swings & dug in the sand etc.
Swinging as an adult uses an interesting set of front muscles so that was good. Plus the the bike riding. My friends bike had level handlebars so that it didn't kill my hands for me to ride. So today I feel a tightness in all my muscles after all the physical activities everyday this week plus all the yard work on the weekend. So today before I tackle my own round of house work I plan on using the gazelle. Too bad house work doesn't seem to burn a calorie
I stopped at the Salvation Army store yesterday on my way home looking for something for dh & I checked thru all the tapes/dvds for a callenetics but no luck. Did get a casual knit top for now, then found a blouse w/tank top, pair of capri's, & a denium dress--all 3 new w/tags still on 'em. This happens a lot since women tend to be such clothes hogs & buy sizes they never even get in to...LOL!! I've done that one. These are all 18's & very tight. Think they are 18 misses not 18 womens which cut you a bit more space. So they are hanging in my closet saying wear me wear me--this year wear me not next
D you handled your stress eating quite well I thought! When I stress eat it's half the pizza before I hit whatever else I can find in the kitchen...and just think if our dh's weren't such ninnies at times we wouldn't get new earrings & outfits & hairstyles....
Well I need to get off here & start w/my long to do list. I'm sure I'll be checking in soon since I'm addicted LOL

C, glad you wrote this morning. I needed something to read with my coffee! Sorry to hear you have diverticulitis. Did you have any clue? My friend has that and she gets awful stomach pains if she eats any kind of corn, nuts, fried food, etc. Something about "pockets" in your stomach lining that food gets caught up in and causes infection??? Well, on the bright side, guess that will help keep you eating healthy. Those clothes sound very nice. It's always good to have "small" incentives like that.

I'm debating about whether to go to Curves today or not. My house is such a mess. I have not been home to do dishes so the sink is overflowing. My livingroom looks like a tornado hit it with boxes of sorority stuff I need to bring tonight plus ds2's clothes and books and papers all over. Dh hasn't been feeling well to help lately and I've been on the go so much that when I get home, the fatigue and painful feet has slowed me down so much, never mind that I am a terrible housekeeper to begin with. I really should go to Curves though so that I can go again on Friday. (Trying to talk myself into this today -- of course I could be cleaning right now instead of posting!)

I ended up having one little snack last night -- a string cheese -- but I think I did pretty good not snacking on anything else. Halfway thru the week -- gotta tighten the belt the rest of the week! I really need to see some kind of loss this week or I am going to go crazy. I eat so much less than I used to, plus more physical activity, so it kills me when that scale doesn't budge.

Such beautiful warm weather this week. Yesterday was 83. Hope everyone else is enjoying the sunshine. D

Hi, Gals--

Enjoyed hearing about your leadership academy fun, D, and I think you did fabulous on your eating! Only eating the topping off pizza and avoiding ice cream are near magical feats, IMO! The conference hotel where we go to our gym and eat has a lot of these same sorts of team-building exercises for the conferences they host. It's fun to see all these adults running around in outfits color-coded for their teams and having a riot doing the exercises. So, D, obviously adults like to do these fun things, too!

I know you did not at all enjoy the smile surprise from your dh, but it did paint a humorous picture! I got a kick out of you telling him he could go to the banquet but not smile or talk to anybody! Did he manage to pull it off? What was up with him the last couple of days? He sure messed up with you--no food and tooth gone! I'd have been wondering what on earth? D, you did amazing with all that going on! Men! Hope he has gotten rid of his pain, though.

I sure sympathize with you on the I'm eating so much less than I used to and the scale is not budging thing. The same thing is going on with me. Then I start asking myself, why bother? Oh well, it's only been a week, and I did lose 3 lbs. last week (I was up to 162). This week nada. Patience, patience! Your menus look fine, D, I'm sure you will drop after Tom--taking its time, huh! Maybe you're in perimenopause and getting irregular--oh what fun those years are! Hope not!

Good for you to go shopping, a cure for most ills! Did you get your hair trimmed or anything different? It looks so cute in your pic, but I bet it looks good any style. What's your new blouse like? You're inspiring me to shop since I'm depressed about not losing!

Y, you've got to go shopping for something to wear to the wedding! You've lost so much weight, they are not going to believe their eyes! How gratifying is this! You are just amazing to accomplish so much in only 6 months! I'm sorry to hear your back is hurting again--you've got to be careful now so you can travel soon. Hope you feel better soon! With all the stress you've been going through lately, it's awesome how you're staying on the eating plan. Congrats on that! Glad bf is making it up to you, too.

C, sounds like you're enjoying life again since you've gone part-time and have some time to do some fun things! What a dream to go for a bike ride to the park, and then go on the swings! Satisfying your inner child, as they say. Your friend sounds so nice, and it's a boon to have a gf that eats healthy! Congrats on only eating one tiny cookie! Sounds like you had fun shopping, too. You'll fit into those new things soon--keep pulling them out and trying them on to stay motivated!

I went to the gym yesterday, but the scale stays stuck. I still think it's the meds, but they do make me feel better, so I have to stay on them. Just have to stick it out and hope the weight will come down sooner or later.

B - 2 scrambled eggs w/cr ch, spinach
L - prawn cocktail, caesar salad w/little avocado
D - meatball soup (2 meatballs w/tomato, celery, onions, few carrots)
no snack

Have a good day, everyone... T.

Tues.

am-drink potion
lunch-apple and protein drink
dinner-scrambled eggs w wholegrain muffin
snacks-popcorn, 2 fruitis, l.c. ice cream sand.

T- great going on the food and exercise-you are really doing good and dont forget the scale was up so something is happening !!! Hang in there-your back on track !

D-Glad you went out and had nails, haircut, and other goodies done ! Will dh have to take the plate in and out or is it permanent ? Your Acadamy day sounded like a blast. I got stuck on one of those ziplines about 5 yrs. ago. I was on an excursion in Costa Rica and you HAD to do it to continue on, no choice and I did not know -and I can't go up an escalator . And NO snacks for you

C- Did they give you meds for the diverticulitus ??? And your suppose to stay away from legal snacks, geez, I would not get crazy about it as I think you would of had big stomach trouble if you had it bad. What fun-a day at the park and great going on the exercise and 1 cookie !

Just back from hospital ordeal- they did not have authorization for 2 of the tests but that got fixed. Then they made me wait to leave because they said my blood pressure was too low 80/60 after the stress stuff tests but its always low-another argument. I was there 10 hours ! The worst part was I could not have coffee or a smoke after midnite because of one test-I was going insane and my legs were shaking-ughhhh. They had`a Starbucks in the hospital, I got a xl and ran to my car when I was done What a terrible addict I am.

I am hoping to dump some more weight before wedding which is June 7th so I would not want to shop yet if I do Then I am sure I will gain weight when im up there so not sure what to do at this point.

Really applied myself today & did a major cleaning thru the house. D I get stressed when everything piles up around me, & being 53 I can't remember sh-- so I can't loose things in piles cause I will never ever on this green earth find 'em again Always feels good when you get it done & can sit down & relax in the clean after glow!
Sad thing is I was looking for 2 important things that did not surface anywhere...so that's a bummer! When I took my bags of winter clothes to the basement (I know I know my hands are not liking this) I found myself facing the 2 big piles of really nice stuff in 16 & 14's.....as I was hanging & folding it all I remembered how absolutely great I felt wearing the stuff--especially the 14 pants! I had lugged them all down stairs & threw them in a huge heap on the bed cause I was just so disgusted with myself & hadn't faced them since. After I got almost all of them bagged I felt pretty inspired to get my big behind together. Next week I will get the last of them bagged up. It wasn't just that I looked so much better & was getting all these compliments--it was that I felt so much better. Have been thinking all afternoon, how did I let go of that & decide that 4 pieces of pizza & a huge bowl of popcorn were better feeling?? We are strange creatures are we not??
So I made my menu today be total protein & am really going to try & keep it on track. Will have to go downstairs & visit my clothes on a regular basis.
No meds for the diver. I've not had any problems so far but was not surprised when I had it as my mom has had trouble w/it for years. At this point I think YH is right & if I just eat my few nuts that I chew up well I will be ok.
Sorry your day of tests turned out to be such a trial YH!! The tests are bad enough w/o all the added aggravation!
Gee you should have used the day as the starting point for quitting smoking! If you could just reach me you'd be smacking me right about now LOL!!!! I have flown out the door on more than one occasion to find caffine & nicotine before I died of need....at least that is one devil that seems to be behind me.
It has been raining slowly all afternoon. We really needed it so I'm not complaining. It's actually pleasant to have the windows open & listening to the birds & falling rain while working.
Now T you know that just cause you made it to week 2 doesn't mean that your scale is going to drop off 20lbs....LOL...do we ever want it all right this instant or what!!! Look at the bright side, at least you were not up again this week! Your menu for today sounded good.
YH I just don't know how you are surviving on the things you eat girl. I can get into the fruit but filling in so much w/the protein mixes...I'd fall off the wagon for sure. And your dinners are usually pretty light too.
My menu today was simple
bkf=bacon coffee w/cream
l=2 tky italian sausages
d=2 pork loin chops
s=probably another pork loin chop
drank a lot of decaf ice tea all day as I was so hot working. Tomorrow I will probably have shrimp & eggs & bacon. Fri I will add back the small salad I ate every nite w/my protein. Sat. I have a bridal shower that's in a hall so I'm hoping the food will be a huge buffet where I can pick & choose what works for me like D did the other day.
Later gal's--

I did go to Curves today and I'm glad because I needed it. My house is still a mess but at least I've caught up with the dishes and laundry this afternoon.

YH, with the wedding a month away, I think I'd give it a couple of weeks and then go shopping closer to the wedding date (but not too close that you are scrambling to find an outfit). You'll look gorgeous no matter what you wear -- but for your own mental well-being (ha!), it would be nice to show up in something brand-spanking new so those beer belly relatives can eat their 's out over how good you look!!

Glad you got all your tests done but geesh, that was a long day! You must be exhausted from all that waiting around. I did laugh as I visualized you running with that coffee cup while trying to get to your cigarettes. I remember those days all too well.

Did I say congrats for the 3 lbs yet, T? If not -- way to go! You're all doing so well, I can't remember who I've congratulated or not. I think the bike ride was awesome too, C. You really have stepped up the exercise lately -- I bet those clothes are too big on you very soon! Go out and buy yourself a new outfit, T. You deserve it!! We're so used to rewarding ourselves with food -- it's time we started some new habits with healthier rewards like.....SHOPPING!!!!!

Speaking of shopping, I took your advice YH and ordered some psyllium husk powder and greens. I also ordered some choc protein powder mix so I could get it all down. Should be here by the end of week or beginning of next week. I'm sure I will let you know how it tastes!!!

My nail tech is also a hairdresser so when I was getting my nails done yesterday, I asked her to cut my hair. My bangs were getting too long and I wanted my hair a little fuller and fluffier. She "textured" it and put in much shorter layers all over. Usually I only go to her for my nails and a local gal for my cut & color. I started out with the nail tech 9 yrs ago so I hate to give her up but the local gal is also the mother of ds2's classmate and a friend, and I hate to not go to her. So I go to both but neither of them know that the other one is working on my hair. I used to be a hairdresser many yrs ago so they just think I am doing my own hair. Don't you think I got a phone call this morning from the local hairdresser wanting to know what I did to my hair because it was the best haircut she's ever seen on me!! Well now I really didn't want to tell her that someone else cut it and did a better job than her. I had to make ds2 swear not to tell anyone I got a haircut somewhere else!

Ok I better get working on sorority stuff since I have a meeting tonight. Dh is going to grill burgers for supper since I won't have time to cook anything.

Have a good night! D

I see you posted while I was still typing, C. That is so wonderful you have all those smaller clothes for incentive. I think you're right -- the pizza and treats were so not worth all the lbs we put on us. What was that saying I posted awhile ago that I saw at my Curves...."Nothing tastes so good as being in shape feels." I really think that's true and I guess we are all starting to (finally) realize it. You are going gung-ho these days with the eating on plan and exercise -- keep up the great work!!

Hi, y'all,

Well, just when I think I have the emotional eating thing whipped, it rears it's ugly head again. Due to stress with our grown son, (he is 23, but acts like he's 17), I really blew it Monday, Tuesday.

I am determined to not get so stressed about our son. He is legally grown, so there is not much dh & I can do, but give advice he doesn't want to listen to and hopefully wait for him to grow up and mature.

When I finally got it undercontrol, I tried on the pants I wore last Saturday and couldn't button them.

However, today, Wednesday, I am back on track again. I did walk on Tuesday night, so I hope that helped the "carb weight gain" somewhat.

So, I am picking myself up again and starting over. When I weigh in tomarrow, I will not be mad at myself if the scale says I am up.

Sorry to be a "negative" poster, but I felt like I needed to "come clean", then start over again.

Today, Wednesday:
2 pouched eggs, diet cranberry juice
lc yogurt
dreamfield's pasta made into mac n' cheese, homemade cole slaw, few dill pickles
chicken salad on lettuce, tomatoe slices, few tiny dill pickles, plum for desert

Here's to a good rest of the week.

Hey SC you've been reading these posts long enough to have heard each & every one of us get done in by stress eating, so you're right to just get on with it. We'll always have stress & always have food....what a combination
Hopefully we'll get to the point where we always are over doing with healthy choices like YH does, eating 2 frutti's
& some quaker rice cakes!! LOL doesn't she set a good example

Hey Ms Kathleen where are you girl?? You need to buzzing in & out saying howdy whether you are on plan or not. We like lots of noise in this group! D & I have to have new posts to read at all times to keep us on track

Made some deviled eggs after I got out of the tub. Ate 2 & had 15 almonds, which I chewed down to almond butter LOL! Am working tomorrow so I will have some of the eggs & bacon in the morning. That will hold me til I get home for a late lunch. Will take a cheese stick & 15 almonds w/me. I actually do ok thru out the daytime--then in the evenings I get into trouble. Been my pattern for many years. But I'm looking to get as good as YH w/my evening snacks!

Don't know how the greens will go w/the choc D.....my 1client uses the choc protein powder & it works well for her. Good luck w/the greens. Wish it came in capsule form. My brother is like YH & can swallow anything LOL!!

Well D you have supported everyone till you are in a corner Don't want to tick them off or hurt their feelings so that you go from 2 good ones to 0 good ones!!
Am curious to see your hair after all that.

Ok good nite all.

Good to hear from you SC, my s3 is a real nightmare so I sure can relate to sons. Good to hear your back on track now ! As you can see we vent about many issues here other than food and its a big help for me. Its ok to be negative as I know I often am-tell it like it is. The pants will zip next week.

Yes, K - Where have you been ??? Did you make it thru Wed. T

I don't think im the greatest example C - see how I woof the night snacks ? Ice cream every nite !I think D eats less than I do and weighs more so she is the star pupil. I dont want to see a pc. of fruit or veg. at snackie time. I also read eat all your fruit up until noon only as otherwise the sugars wont do what they are suppose to and it just ferments if eaten late then they would have to can or pickle you instead of Soylent Green food Who knows on that one ! And you can see im not dumping 5 lbs.a week or anything but that did happen in the very start way back to Nov. Dec. The greens do come in a pill form C but dont know how well they work, let me know if you need a place to get. I also think that housework, laundry, etc. does not do much for "exercise" Wherever D got that info. from its fake - then we should not have to exercise

Your safe with the hair D being you use to be a hair stylist When my hair gal was at the last shop her prices kept going up and up and I booked an appt. with a gal in the same shop and ended up next to my gal !! She pulled me aside and asked why and I told her I could not afford her and then she said come back and pay what you can !! So I did and followed her to next shop which is a pricey place but she rents her own chair and does not have to charge menu prices. Speaking of hair this new color has to go ! The dark burgundy is too harsh, too young(for me), too fakey, makes me look older, and a bad idea on white hair, a bathing cap would be a must and not doing that in this heat- my fault as it was my idea. I am thrilled you got the greens and powder too, if I cant do it straight up ill throw a scoop of vanilla whey in but im over it now. If you have to use the choc. well...it should be interesting

Predict a major blowout at work today as some idiot(witches roomie) ran my work in error all wrong and I will refuse to do over and tell them they will have to, cant even miss a day for cripes sake, someone nosing around in my stuff for no reason except spying ( saw an email from home)

Wed.

am and lunch- nothing , at hospital
dinner-burnt ground sirloin patty and frozen veggies
snack- 1 fruiti and 1/2 glass of ff milk

Good morning ladies!

Well C, we have your rain today but I imagine everyone is happy since we live in such a dry area -- rain is very rare here. The deviled eggs sound good. Maybe I will make some up this wkd.

I have a dr appt this afternoon. The scale is starting to move downward (finally!) but my feet and legs are still so painfully swollen. Must be the heat we've had this week, but I'm wondering if there's something else I can do besides the water pill because our summers get pretty darn hot and I can't imagine if I'm this swollen in 80 degree weather, what I'll be like when it goes over 100. I really thought the weight loss would improve this condition and maybe it will...once I lose more weight!

My meeting went well. Ladies loved my little flowered invitations and it was a big joke that they all got "lei-ed" last night. Our guest speaker did a program on the Therapeutic Effects of Piano Music. She was the mother of one of our members and she played the piano so beautifully -- very relaxing and entertaining.

Oh boy, you gals are making me look so foward to gulping down my new drink potion. I think I will just pretend I am eating an Easter basket. Choc-covered grass. Should prove interesting!

SC, sorry you are having probs with your son. Believe me, I think we can all relate in some way or another. We just found out that 19 yr old (almost 20) stepson moved out of dh's sister's home in the middle of the night this week, not even telling her he was leaving or thanking her for paying off his $2,000 in debt (bad checks) to keep him out of jail or for taking him in and letting him live there rent-free the last 5 months when he had nowhere else to go. Glad you are getting back on track. I think this was the week for stress-eating for a lot of us!

I still would love to see you get your hair dyed a light brown with blonde highlights, YH. I think that would look so nice on you and wouldn't fade in the pool either.

Yesterday's menu:

B-coffee
L-salad w/diced skinless chicken
D-2 burgers, 1 lc flatbread, 2 sl tomato, lettuce
S-6 almonds, 3 pork rinds, 1 string cheese, 2 sl turkey breast

I think I was losing more weight when I was eating the darn pepperoni and olives every night!!

T, hope you had a good night. Missed reading a post from you this morning! Kathleen, hope you are just busy and not hiding from us!!

Have a great day ladies -- the week is nearly over!! D

So YH was there a big brehau at work today?? Did they do your work incorrectly just to cause trouble? How nice of your hairdresser!! Mine is very reasonably priced. The last few years she's worked from home so she could work around her daughter. Had a sink & chair & mirror installed in her basement next to the laundry room & you sit in her family room & watch tv when you have to wait your turn. Think she probably makes the same as in the salon--like the salon would charge 80 & she'd get 40 & now she just charges 40 & gets it all. Don't know how D could cut her own hair even if she use to be a hair dresser....curl & style, & even color but not cut....how would you ever cut the back??? Oh well lets hope they don't start to question too closely LOL!!

I meant that you snack on legal stuff YH, not that you don't snack or snack on carrot sticks. If every time we stress ate it was only on something legal we'd be in much better shape. I would like to get to the point that I could enjoy a lc ice cream every nite.

Today I've eaten just protein again. Thru out the day I've had my bacon & eggs, then the deviled eggs, then later on a cheese stick & my almonds. When I got home I was
hungry so I ate a pork chop. Then dh came in from dentist & I fixed us hot dogs on the grill. I laid my 2 dogs on my plate covered with everything I'd put on a bun & then just cut into pieces & ate. Don't really miss the bun. Had 3 pickles too now that I think about it, so not 100% protein. Am starting to get hungry so I'll have to decide how I am going to handle it, it's already 9pm so I really need to just have a nice big glass of pepsi one & not have anything else.

Took my MS client to the hospital clinic today to see her neurologist & she got weighed. This is the only time she can get on a scale. It weighs her in the wheelchair. So she was 122. She is very careful of her weight as she knows it's vital to the little bit of mobility that she has left. She was about 130 last year. Her dh went on lc a year ago & so she switched over too. She has her choc protein drink early a.m w/dh and then has 3 boiled eggs mid morning. Has 2oz of salmon w/ a couple tsp of mayo for lunch. Dinner is a salad & some protein her dh cooks on the grill. Or they have one of those lc dinners I told you & HB about before D that were 20$each. So that's it for the whole day, after day, after day....she is so disciplined. She said she has not choice but I know that in her shoes I could easily be way off track. She never burns a calorie either since her movements are so limited. Anyway we should all be glad the main complaints we have are sons that are having trouble growing up, & get a grip & get on with it. There--that's my rah rah speech to keep me out of the kitchen tonight LOL!!

By the way, that pretty crystal candy dish that had the m&m's before---well after those were ate up I filled it w/a variety of the sugar free hard candies. So it still is sitting there sparkling under the lamp w/o doing me any harm

Hooray for you, C! You have really gotten motivated! that was a brilliant move you made to go through your smaller size clothing! Congrats on going two days all protein--that's not easy; I tried it and couldn't manage it. But I am concerned for you doing this with the diverticulitis--are you taking a lot of fiber with this? I have two friends with it and they have to eat vegetables and fruit with the protein. Soy nuts gave one of them a bad attack.

I love that you kept your pretty candy dish out where you can enjoy it, and filled it with sf candies. As D says, we need to do the things that make us feel good while we are going this process. Is this one of the things you got for your house when you went to the outlet mall?

And thanks for reminding me that I'm only on week two and I need to be grateful my weight hasn't gone back up! Right you are! I do have a very good reason to stay on lc now, to keep my blood sugar down; and I was jumping for joy this morning because it was down to 96 after several days of discipline. If I can keep this up, my legs might get better after all! And that would be even better than losing weight!

Y, hope you survived the fireworks at work. Maybe next time you'll have to lock all your stuff up in a drawer! For all that, plus what you went through at the hospital, I hope your tests come out good. So what do you have in mind for your new hair color? How long do you have to wait to change it? I think mine told me 3-4 weeks for color. But I have weak hair and the processing would damage it. You probably want to get it done before the wedding? With not eating before the tests, I bet your weight will drop some more. You cracked me up listing the burnt sirloin burger!

D, your haircut sounds wonderful. You're lucky to have hairdressers who don't mess your hair up! But since you know what's going on, you can exert some control over it. The rest of us have to close our eyes and pray! Glad you made it to Curves this week. Sorry you're having trouble with your legs and feet--what did the doctor say? I wonder if you're just on them a bit too much, and you need to get them up more? That's a sad story about your stepson. At least you don't have him in your home, but I feel sorry for his sister, and I'm sure it's a constant source of worry for you and your dh.

SC, good for you to get ahold of your emotional eating before it got totally out of hand! Your menu looks great, and you helped ameliorate any damage by walking a lot, that's got to be helpful! You've made so much progress, you don't want to get stopped now!

I'm managing to stay on the program. I have been hungry in the evening--apparently we all are, but am trying not to snack until bedtime, with one carb-controlled snack. I've just been drinking tea with cream to tide me over. Went to the gym today, and rode the bike. Don't know why my weight isn't moving down, but at least I am being consistent.

B - scrambled eggs, spinach
L - caesar salad w/striped bass filet
S - 1 pc. lunch meat, few almonds
D - chicken breast, green beans, cauliflower
S - string cheese, almonds

Hope you all are tucked away peacefully this evening having sweet dreams! T.

How was the dr. visit D, I hope the water is better-I would imagine there would be something else pill wise, yep, I think you need to send me one of those lei's It feels like 95 here now with the stinkin humidity and its early May, ughhh. Your gonna love the drink potion. My new liquid vitamins arrived and the goji-I put some goji in the potion and it tasted way better, the liquid vitamin nasty but take a shot first thing at work.

Is that a frozen meal C thats 20 that your client uses ? If so, thats alot ! But good for her being so disciplined. The work bruhaa was a fiasco when I was out Wed. as someone hit the wrong button and ran tons of my stuff in the wrong month, I told boss that work turned into the screwup's work and that was the end of that, heard banging and yelling from that office all dayWell C, I had a vision of you cutting up that hot dog so carefully and dressing it Sometimes I have real cravings for a reg. pepsi as I use to drink it all the time, I pretty much hate diet sodas but ive gotten use to the crystal lite finally-sounds like you are doing well this week C.

I could change my haircolor today T - the stuff she uses is easy on the hair but I would like to get to the point where I like something for awhile and just get roots done, I think I will go next week and then one more time before trip. I go every 3 wks. but will have to do an extra because of wedding. Maybe a brown w blonde hilites like D said. This hair is more of a shocker to me because its one color and ive had hi lites for years. Looks like your lovin the string cheese and almonds T and you are doing good .

I am very frustrated as I am not exercising this week because my back is still killing me, I went in the pool yesterday with a bathing cap thinking I could work the pain out and did 15 laps, I made it worse I think. S3 went to see pizza guy who is back from stabbing incident and brought me home a veggie sub on white. First time I ever had one. So no Curves, missed class, no callanetics,no gym this week, no good.

Thurs-real hungy

am-blackberries,apple, and pineapple, drink potion
lunch-salad with 1 egg, t.breast, babybel, cuke, tomato
dinner-8" veggie sub on dreaded white-was very good
snacks-ice cream, fruiti-2, 1 sourdough pretzel

Good morning gals!

Was a good dr visit yesterday. He was very happy to see my sugar levels down so low and now wants me back next week for a fasting blood draw to check cholesterol, thyroid, liver, etc. My blood pressure was near perfect and much better than my last visit. He was amazed at the fluid retention in my feet and legs, said I probably have a good 1-2 quarts in each leg!! He doubled the dosage strength of my Lasix. That should come in today. I was even having shortness of breath, with all the water I was retaining, so that wasn't good. He thinks it was all the traveling I have done the past 2 weeks. I really haven't put my feet up hardly at all. Dh massaged about 5 lbs of water out of them last night. No kidding. I checked the scale before he started and he really pushed hard on my feet and you could see the indentations he left, plus it made me run to the bathroom and afterwards, I was 5 lbs lighter on the scale. It has been a very discouraging week for me. I know it's only water, but I was so thrilled to get below 300 and then to have it move up again, just about killed me. So this may be another stay-the-same week, but considering that I was up all week, I will be happy just to see those 200 numbers again.

YH, I hope your back feels better soon. I know how frustrating it must be for you not to be able to exercise. Have you tried sleeping on your side with a pillow between your legs? That is supposed to alleviate pressure on your spine. I thought about you last night when I was reading my Prevention magazine. It had an article about ppl who wake up in the middle of the night and cannot get back to sleep. It suggested a herb called valerian, taken before you go to bed. Another recommendation was to take melatonin, which is a hormone that regulates the sleep-wake cycle. It said it can be taken in mild dosage form when you actually wake up in the middle of the night and will not cause you to be over-tired in the morning. Might be something you'd want to look into. I hope you go blonde -- I think as we all get older, darker hair causes our skin to look sallow and harsh. The softer tones and colors are much kinder to us!! I am so jealous of you -- that sub sounded delicious!! If it weren't for the fact that I need to keep my sugars down with low-carb eating, I think I'd like the WW plan better because you can eat more carbs and I would love to have some popcorn or a sourdough pretzel at night instead of my stupid pickles!!

Yesterday's menu:

B-cottage cheese, hb egg, coffee
L-1 burger, lettuce, 1 sl tomato, 3 strawberries
S-pork rinds, 6 almonds, 1 babybel
D-roast chicken, asparagus, salad
S-mini dill pickles, olives, 1 string cheese

T, I am so proud of you for staying on plan like this. I know it's a struggle with the meds that make you hungry and the physical problems you have, but you're overcoming all that! That scale will show your hard work and efforts sooner or later. I get so frustrated when I stay the same but then I will have a great week all of a sudden where I will see a good loss and I think that's what will happen with you too. It sounds like you are exercising more and remember, muscle weighs more than fat, so you may see the difference in the fit of your clothes before you see it on the scale. A reading of 96 is awesome!!! Keep up the good work!!

C, sounds like you are doing better without that darn scale nagging you! I think some ppl are better off without the constant weight-checks. I know I am obsessed with my scale but I couldn't live without it these days. The nurse weighed me and even with the water retention, I was down over 40 lbs since the last time I had weighed in there, so that was motivating. I can't believe you could eat only 2 grilled hotdogs. I love them too much and would have gone back for more so I have to stay away from yummy things like that. You are showing tremendous willpower these days, eating protein and good legal snacks.

Ds1 came home last night since they had put in 47 hours by yesterday afternoon. He said next week they told him it will probably be closer to a 60-hour workweek so enjoy this Friday off, it ain't gonna happen again. I am skipping out on Curves today to take ds1 out to lunch and do some shopping in Alliance. Probably better that I don't overdo it on the exercise till I get rid of the water in me anyway.

Ds2 is so sick but refused to stay home today because he didn't want to miss a day of school. Not your typical teenager, is he? He's very determined to keep his grade point average up and perfect attendance, etc. I don't know where he gets all that -- certainly doesn't take after his mother -- I was a wild child always skipping school and getting in trouble!

Enjoy the day ladies!! D

P.S.

YH, what the heck is goji??? Sounds like something a witch doctor would prescribe. I am really looking forward to getting my new potion, even though I'm dreading the taste. Should be in today or maybe Monday. I just need a boost -- know what I mean? I do want to thank you because you have given me lots of ideas and suggestions and I need all the help I can get!!! Dr told me yesterday that if I lose enough weight he will be able to take me off a lot of my meds or at the very least, lower all the dosages.

Unbelievable on all the water retention D ! Good thing dh helps you out. Hopefully the double lasix will help with that and on the dr's report. I did not try the valerian yet but have used melatonin right before bed, I will try the melatonin when I awake. Left work early Fri. - came home , blockbuster, dry heaves, watched tv, ate too much. Fear scale today. I am on day 3 of prozac but dont know if that has anything to do with nausea or not. Goji is the juice from a plant in the Himalayan mountains that is suppose to be good for many things. Back pain has somewhat transferred to shoulders and neck

am- strawberries and apple
lunch and dinner - 3 pk. chops and veggies
snacks - quaker cakes, 2 fruities, ice cream , and some new 100 cal. cracker pac - ughhhh - a sick binge

I am laughing about potion D ! Let us know how you mix it, not real sure about the chocolate tho, maybe you won't have to use the choc. Mine was yummy with the shot of goji maybe the goji is making me sick, or the prozac, pain pills, or im just sick. BF thinks i need to stay in bed all weekend and its all stress related because of s3 = gain weight. My plan was to be gung ho the month of May and bad week. Ill report weight shortly.

Sorry you're not feeling well YH! Maybe it is a combination of all the pills or one of the new ones--hard to figure huh? Course you could just have a bit of a bug. I know of a couple that are still flying around here & in WY where my db lives. Just rest by the pool. Leave it to dear bf to tack the blame on ds3....not like his stress of the blame game could be getting to you....
Sorry you didn't loose this week. But you are right that at least you didn't gain.

D that water retention is unbelievable!!! Never heard of that amount--sounds really dangerous for your heart!! Hope you've been peeing all nite & feel much better now! Guess it's all good incentive to keep losing the wgt! Having too much fun aye?? LOL Should have been at home w/ your feet up between your rounds of fun!! Maybe the scale will reward your water loss this a.m.

That's interesting about the sleep aides--thanks for the info D. Have the usual middle aged lady problems w/sleeping. Even though this past month I have been sleeping really well---have no idea why but it sure feels great!!!

Had another good protein day yesterday. Had 1/3c berries & 3 pickles and the rest was protein. Went to bed all 3 nites w/ no evening snacks. Hoping that speeds things along. I have a bridal shower today at noon. So I am going to have a good round of protein for bkf since I have no idea what will be served for lunch. Last shower I went to 4yrs ago they served a very light lady like lunch, if you know what I mean about the style. Was all very tasty & yet controlled.

Wow that's quite the son D!! My ds never skipped school etc but he sure flubbed his way thru his classes....use to drive me crazy. Only real problem we had w/him thru his teen years but it was a maddening problem. This time he's doing really well cause he wants to be in the school situation & is doing it w/ his own student loans. Maturity is a good thing that comes to all of us eventually. LOL!!

Well it's after 9 so I need to get off here & get my hair washed & my nails polished. Enjoy your Sat!!

YH, sorry to hear you are feeling ill. I wonder if it's a combination of the prozac and pain pills?? Hopefully your back pain will subside so you can get off those pills and your system will adjust to the prozac and things will settle down with you. (I think the stress is from both bf & s3, so remind bf of that next time he wants to put all the blame on s3.) Congrats on staying the same -- much better than gaining! I'm sure once you can get back to exercising, the lbs will start melting away again and a good workout relieves stress too so that will help. You don't have far to go before you reach goal.

I know it's sounds unbelieveable but I got almost another 5 lbs of water out of me by this morning. I had run out of water pills and didn't want to re-order till I spoke to dr, in hopes that he would up the dosage. So that water crept up on me, little by little, with each passing day, over the past 2 weeks. I was really swollen and could even feel the tightness in my face. (Never had this problem till I got in the high 200's so let that be a lesson to you gals!) Anyway, I took the higher dosage water pill yesterday and then again at midnight because I was still so swollen. Was up all night peeing but it was worth it. Am back down to 298 this morning!! No loss in the sense that it was all water but at least I can start fresh this week and hopefully with the new meds, keep the fluid retention under control. The dr is hopeful that if I lose enough weight, I won't have this problem anymore and will be able to cut out the Lasix altogether.

I stupidly took too much insulin yesterday morning, forgetting that I planned to skip breakfast. When my numbers went down to 61, I started getting shaky and needed to get some carbs in me quickly so I grabbed some of dh's leftovers from the night before. Ugh. I hate eating so heavy in the morning.

Yesterday's menu:

B-pork chop, tsp mashed potatoes
L-chicken, beef & broccoli, salad (out for Chinese with ds1)
D-shrimp, tomato & broccoli
S-1 oz. lc crackers (4 carbs), 2 string cheese

That's great that your son went back to school, C. Lots of kids don't do it if they don't go right out of high school, so I give him a lot of credit. We help ds1 with tuition but he also takes out student loans, works full-time during the summers & school breaks and part-time during the school year, and pays for all his textbooks, which can run him about $800 a yr. We try to instill a "pay your own way" theory into all 3 of our kids (with a little of our help) and only one rebelled (dh's son) so I guess 2 out of 3 ain't bad. For some reason, my parents let me run wild and didn't encourage college and then I guess they learned their lesson and put both my sister and brother thru college. I'm sitting in a little house on the prairie (literally LOL) while they are both living in mansions making over $100k a year so I've really pushed college with both my kids because I know firsthand what not going to college does (or doesn't) do for you.

Good luck at your shower today. I think you're in the zone with your eating so you won't have a problem at all. We have 4 graduation parties today but I think we're going to limit it to the one relative (dh's cousin's daughter) that is an hour away and then stop at our local graduation on the way home to drop off the other 3 gifts without actually going to their individual parties. One buffet per day is about all I can handle.

No potion yet. Hopefully (ha) will be here Monday.

I asked dh what our plans were for Mother's Day. He told me that he and the boys were going to dig out our sewer line (tree roots got into it so they need to replace the pipes). Now that's love for ya. I know they ordered me a mother's ring, which hasn't come in yet, so I will give up the "going out to eat celebration" since I think flushing the toilet is more of a priority, esp. since I have these stronger water pills now.

What is everyone else doing tomorrow? Any plans? Let me wish you special ladies a Happy Mother's Day in advance!

Well, gotta stop this rambling. Have a great day! D

Weather Update

Well, I'm debating about whether we'll go to the graduation party at all. It's SNOWING!! Coming down pretty wet and who knows if it will accumulate but it's slick driving out right now. Ds1 and friends were on their way to South Dakota for the day, a 4 hour drive. Made it halfway and just called to say they are turning around, snowing too bad to continue. May 10th, geesh.

Sounds like your doing really good C - keep it up, I hope the shower was fun.

All those parties D and snow ! I was like you, a wild child and college dropout-paying now, if we all were that age and knew what we know now things would sure be different. I like Little House on the Prarie !

Hung out with BF all day, nausea is better and did the pool - 30 laps. Now I think he is going to Macy's to get me yet another matching pc. of the luggage

I went thru ONE box and found a do-able for the wedding, its a plain long black sleeveless cotton dress with slits up side and embroidery at botton, fits and comfy. Then a fitting black beaded/seq. spaghetti strap at knee cocktail dress that I would have to get 2 inches off belly/hips I think, BF said try to sit in it, nothing popped but was rough. The cocktail dress is much more dressier but dont know if I could get a couple inches in that area off Oh yeah, I decided to do the pool after I tried on that dress.
