Beautiful Sunday

Woooooooo Hoooooooooooo!!!! D You should be so proud of yourself!! That is fantastic!! To be in the 2's! I know that is such a boost! We are all so proud of you. Gives me so much inspiration! My husband and I were married 8 years this past Feb. We went for a great steak dinner too! It was delish. That is probably my favorite thing!

The countertops look great. My DH is even impressed! He came in last night from work and was blown away. He never gets excited about house stuff, just says "if momma ain't happy, nobody's happy"! But even he was excited. The new faucet is so cool too! I am going to see if my brother can help out today so we can get hooked back up to the water. We had to wait 24 hours for the sink to set. That way dh won't have to hook up at 8:00 tonight! It was definetly worth it!

We are about 150 miles from MX. Don't go too often. There are a lot of problems down along the border for about the last year and a half. Drug lord fighting, actually trickles in our country, kidnappings and shootings . We do go to Progresso once in a while, I have a lot of friends who go for meds and dental work. But that is about the only place they haven't had horrible things happening. They have been able to keep it fairly "safe" there.

Our grandson is due May the 30th, but I seriously don't think she will make it that long. She is already getting milk in. This is my dh 1st blood grandchild and he tries to act like it's no big deal, but I think it is just his annoyance with the whole situation. It is getting kind of exciting, I must admit!

Where do you live D? Still snowing ? That is so crazy............we are already starting to get that high humidity and hot weather!. I am so happy it even rained here, we have been so dry. No flooding or leaks or problems except a little puddling along the street where the kids park!!

I have not made it to the track yet. I may try this morning since it is still quite early here. The sun is just comming up now. I know it is a matter of just doing it! I am so lazy when it comes to exercise, but as you all are proof, it is good for you! If C can do it, so can I ! ( I am so proud of you!) Where are you C ? We are all anxious to here about your tests!

I am not going to overindulge today at the lodge. I have been getting mentally prepared for this journey. The drinks will be the tough part! I cheated and bought store stuff for the food part. They had these great looking frozen spirals (stuffed sliced tortillas) and all you have to do is defrost. How simple is that. I didn't have a kitchen sink so I figured it would be acceptable!

T- you look great for 59!! Never would have thought that by your picture! Actually you all look good for our age group! Who new 50's would look so good! That means 60 will even look better with the weight off!! Sounds like your B'day lunch with the girls was nice. We are having one next Saturday, thank goodness we aren't going for Mexican food. We're going to a place that has salads, steak, chicken and burgers. I already know I can stay on track there, lots of choices! BTW bangers was something I had never heard of them until a resturant opened here that sells Bangers and mash! Haven't been there yet, I saw the menu and had a hard time shelling out 15-17.00 for sausage! We just do then at home for that price! The gym and buffet sounds like a great place, eat and work it off or work it off then eat!

YH Glad to hear bf is comming around! Sounds like you had a great day relaxing around the house after all that exercise! Is skinny girl back yet? Love the name........... wish someone would call me that and then if they did, I would have to smack them Maybe someday...............

I am off to boil eggs for the week and make some Rev. Rolls so I can have burgers and sandwiches for lunch this week. I might even make some Taco soup. It is induction friendly and I really do like a hot lunch. I hope everyone has a wonderful relaxing day!

Happy Sunday, y'all.

K, I noticed you were in Texas. Hello from North Texas area.

T, and all, so good to be back. I have lost a total of 18 lbs, have atleast 21 to go. That is my first goal. I am short w/ small bones unfortunely, so every extra lb looks like 3-5lb. I sometimes envy those of you tall and bigger boned folks. I can't believe you are 59 either, you look great.

Since I am feeling better today, I am going to try body flex and a short callenetic's tape for abdomen/waist.

Otherwise, we are staying home today to rest, (usually church, etc) and catch up on stuff around the house let go last week when sick.

It's rainy, humid, today, but actually a bit cooler for us.

Menu: planned:
eggs, bacon, few grapes
leftover homemade chicken veggie soup
baked chicken tonight, brocoli, green salad.

Good morning ladies! It was so great to see all these enthusiastic posts!! Just what I needed this morning.

Our dinner last night was ok. Food was very pricey but good so can't complain too much. We had NY strip steaks. Dh had hash browns with his but I stuck to the salad bar, which included cottage cheese, so I made believe that was my potato. Service was terrible. Having to ask why people who were seated after us were eating before us, begging for a cup of coffee and then having to ask for cream/sweetener too, that kind of thing. Won't go there again. Got in a little spat with dh on the way home because he thought I shouldn't have left a tip. Well geez, I asked him THREE times, what do you think, and if he's going to say "I don't care" then darnit, you better not care when I leave something!! So that kind of soured the end of the evening. I'm a grudge-holder. Dh is one that forgives and forgets in 10 seconds. So he got the speech today, probably similar to YH's, and he's full of apologies and on his best behavior too.

Yesterday's menu:

B-2 string cheese, 2 pc beef jerkey, coffee
S-3 mini dill pickles
L-kielbasa, lettuce w/low-carb dressing, bran cracker w/soy p'nut butter
D-steak, salad, cottage cheese, coffee w/cream
S-4 sm pcs sugar-free candy, 1 string cheese, 1 babybel lite (stress eating when we got home!)

K, I have given up on ordering alcoholic drinks when we're out because they raise my sugar levels too much. Is it possible to bring a mixer into your lodge? It sounds like such a relaxed atmosphere so maybe they would let you. If so, check out Netrition.com's Baja Bob's mixers. Zero carbs and zero calories and they're around $5-$6 each so not too pricey. I bought a margarita mix and it's pretty good. I plan to buy a mai tai mix and bring it with me to my luau party. Most alcohols are zero carbs, and not too many calories, it's the mixers and the beer that are loaded with carbs. Just a suggestion. I hope you have fun today! What do your countertops look like? When we moved to this house 6 yrs ago (was dh's childhood home that his mom left him when she passed away), we renovated and put in all new countertops, linoleum, carpeting, enlarged the kitchen, added on a bedroom and bathroom, etc. What fun I had decorating!

More snow last night. This snowfall stuck so we have about 1/2" on the ground this morning. I'm in the panhandle of Nebraska. Crazy temps here. Usually we go right from winter to summer and then back again to winter. Very little spring or autumn weather for us. You watch, soon it will hit over 100 degrees and I'll be complaining about how hot it is. We live in a very dry climate so the ranchers are happy when it snows because any moisture is better than none.

YH, glad you got such a great workout in the pool. You're really going gung-ho with the exercise!! I'm sure you worked off all your snacks, especially with those big hand gloves and zoomer fins. The visual is quite comical. But I'm sure it gives you quite the workout too, so good for you!

T, I live with hunters. Dh and ds1 love to go hunting -- deer, quail, dove, rabbit, etc. Ds2 doesn't like hunting but he will eat the deer steaks and jerkey dh and ds1 make. Me? I stand firm -- my food has to have a price tag on it or this lady ain't having any of it!! Your convention hotel sounds great. I actually like a buffet much better because then I can load up on the good things and skip the bad things altogether.

SC, sorry to hear you were sick but glad you are back with us! Your menu looks good. I'm tall and used to be able to hide my weight well. But let's face it, when you're 300 lbs, there's no hiding anything except for wrinkles! I think when I get down to the low 200's, that's when I'll be able to hide it a little better. But -- thinking positive here -- would be nice to get down to the 100's and not have to hide anything at all!!

K, I made some of your Taco soup awhile back. You had posted the recipe once. It was awesome!!! Dh and ds1 loved it too. Save me a trip thru back pages and post the recipe again if you have some time this week??

How exciting for dh (and you) awaiting the arrival of your new grandson. May is such a nice time of year, the weather will be perfect to go out for long walks with the baby carriage. You and dd can walk off the lbs together while enjoying that adorable little baby!

C, hope you are having a wonderful wkd with dh. Maybe another nature walk??

Well I am really rambling this morning, aren't I? Sorry 'bout that!

Have a happy Sunday gals!! D

Hi SC
Didn't mean to leave you out last post, I just started rambling on and on!

D-This is off of Linda Sue's web site, she has lot's of good thing to try. Usually when I go out I drink Vodka and Diet Pepsi so the carbs are 0 but it still does stall me. The counter tops are a beige backround with gold and dark brownish or even cranberry and black, lots of color! I think I am going with a dark backsplash to really make them pop. I haven't decided yet. Will have to make the trip with a piece to see what I like.

The taco soup recipe

Happy Sunday, Ladies--

Sounds like everyone is rarin' to go here lately!

D, glad you had a good meal, but too bad the service was so lousy! Also too bad you had a little tiff on your anniversary... but isn't that the way it often happens! Been there! so, two of our guys had to have the speech this weekend! I once read it is the job of women to civilize men, how true that is! And congrats D on just sticking to steak and salad bar! And double congrats on only eating legal snacks while feeling upset! That is superb! Hope that snow leaves soon--you need another opportunity to wear your capris, huh? I ROFL'd re your comment on your meat needing to have a price tag in order for you to eat it! I have to say, I don't like to think where it comes from either!

YH, congrats on swimming all those laps! You probably burned off any extra carbs you ate watching TV and snacking. Also, congrats on passing up the McD's--that's not an easy thing to do! I have never heard of the Moon picture--will add it to my Netflix list. Glad bf improved after he got the speech. They all need that once in a while! Nice he will go out to movies and dinner w/you, too!

K, the counters sound gorgeous! We can tell you are having a delightful time picking out the decor! Thanks for the taco soup recipe; it does sound delicious. Yes, having a new baby in May will be such a nice time of year to go strolling! Incentive to get out and walk! What were the spiral tortillas stuffed with? Have fun at the lodge tonight, and we'll see you bright and early for the start on the diet tomorrow!!!

SC, glad you are feeling much better! Congrats on losing 18 lbs. so far--that's awesome! Almost halfway there! I sympathize with the difficulties of losing weight being short; it's very tough! Not that it's easy for anyone, though...

C, we hope you had a great weekend, and are feeling good!

I did not do great yesterday and my weight was back up this morning, but I am doing good today, counting carbs again. It looks like I really have to do this on a regular basis and not eat any fruit, not even berries for now. I re-read DANDR and have gotten motivated to go back and try very hard to get going on this! And thanks to all you who complimented my picture on not looking 59--yeah, it's blurry; I naturally put it up because it makes me look younger... Y'all have a nice evening, now! T.

Sun.
am-yogurt and 1 sl. turkey breast
lunch-blackberries
dinner-prk roast and green beans
snacks-goldfish,few pretzels, fruiti, lc icecream sand.
exercise-treadmill at gym and am/pm Callanetics tape

S3 and skinny gal showed up at 600am to sleep all day so I hightailed outta here at 800 and went to the gym, walgreens, and grocery store. BF worked 4 hrs. He was home by 400 and had dinner fairly early and watched a movie " War Dance" -good.

Sorry the steakhouse stunk-don't you just hate that-pay all that money for lousy service and then the tip - glad you did good there with the food.

What is the bodyflex SC - is that your cardio-I don't hide my weight well either-I am 5'4" but I think the Callanetics is really helping with the inches, you should post a pic if you can.

Im glad dh noticed the countertops and hope you did ok at the lodge with the food. Today is the big start day for you I would get the dental done in MX too if I lived that close.

Glad you got the book out again T - so you think its the fruit. Geez-I eat so much fruit but then again I am of doing WW modified and a pc. of fruit is only 1 pt. for me - I can't eat much meat on WW. Fruit and veggies.

I keep forgetting to restock the slimfast - that really did help to curb the appetite. The case of protein drink I got does not curb as well as the slimfast-then reading a book at the gym on osteoporosis that said protein ng for bones-need to up my calcium intake - yep - all that info can make you crazy, so then I bought some calcium supplements. I am hoping to build some bone with Curves. My tests are all scheduled at the hospital on 5-7, don't know how the labs turned out - curious about the choles. since my diet changed dramatically.

Hello ladies!

YH, so you escaped the drama yesterday -- lucky you! Good exercising once again. I was wondering about the Slimfast. Haven't seen it on your menus since the hot one. I'll be curious to see how your labs turned out too since you've been eating so healthy! I had blood drawn on Friday for my A1C blood sugar levels. I'm thinking it should come back really low since I've been cutting out so much of the carbs and sugars.

T, good luck starting induction today -- that seems to work best for you and I know once you put your mind to it, the lbs will come off!

K, today is your big start day too, woo-hoo! I hope you will post your menus. I am running out of ideas. Did you get your revolution rolls made? Thanks for the taco soup recipe. That's the one I made and it was so yummy! Those countertops sound gorgeous. I did a navy & white kitchen. Wanted something dramatic so I went for the dark countertops and lighter backsplash. I love interior decorating -- it's the cleaning I hate!

Our snow was gone by yesterday afternoon and it was so warm that we cooked supper on the grill. Such crazy weather.

Yesterday's menu:

B-coffee
L-2 string cheese, almonds
S-1 babybel lite, 4 sm pcs sugar-free candy
D-2 grilled pork chops, cabbage soup
S-3 sl provolone cheese, 1 flatbread, pork rinds

Off to Curves this morning. I love starting my week out with that. Always motivates me to do better and makes me feel so good!

Glad to see we're all getting geared up for the start of a brand new week. Here's to a successful one! D

Hi, Gals--

Looks like you got a great start to your week, D, going to Curves, and so did you YH getting out early and going to the gym!

Y, it amazes me how you can just eat something like blackberries for lunch, and D, how you can only have coffee for breakfast! No wonder you are losing so fast--I wake up so hungry and eat breakfast then am starving by lunch! I have not been so hungry yesterday and today tho since I started back on very low carb, and no more fruit. It's so great, Y that you eat mostly fruits and veggies; it's so healthy for you!

I bet you both will see good results from your lab tests from the change in diet. My glucose has been lower the last couple of days and I hope it goes down even more, cause I'm really hoping the neuropathy will go away if I can keep them really low.

D, glad the snow left. How fun to grill outdoors, especially with your beautiful view! Does dh do the grilling or do you? Pork chops sound yummy!

K, did you start to get back on track today?
SC, hope things are going well for you.
C, hope you are OK!

Yesterday's menu:

B - egg yolk, sausage, spinach
L - Greek salad, grilled lamb skewer, lc choc
S - lunch meat, almonds
D - strip steak, green beans, zucchini
S - string cheese, almonds
Walked 20 min., rode bike 10 min.

Nite-nite, everyone! T.

Good morning,

Glad you got back on the induction T, I think that will work for you. You cannot eat egg whites ? Yay on the exercise. How did it go at Curves D and your Monday ? Is dh better with the tooth ? Hope you are ok C ! And hello K and SC. K-how was your start day ?

I force myself to eat the fruit and have the drink potion in the am and that is around 1000am,then my lunch around 100,then off at 200 during the work week. I am not hungry in the am except when on vacation, then I love big breakfasts. Everything you read says have a breakfast and I force it in hopes of being better with the evening snacks, I would be fine just drinking coffee but eliminating the breakfast did not help me with any weight loss in the past. Felt lousy Monday and today will be another bad day - sleep again- on the Ambien CR 12.5 trial now and it is no good. I figured the controlled release would help with waking so early but a big no.
When i got home from work Monday I made myself go in the pool, did 25 laps with just fins, felt better then - decided i must buy slimfast and went to target-bought the target version " compare to optima brand ". Your right D, my slimfast vanished-maybe skinny gal drank it

Mon.
am-pineapple and cantelope - drink potion
lunch-kashi puffed cereal w blackberries and lf milk, tomato and cuke.
dinner - WW chicken frozen meal
snacks- popcorn, 2 fruities, 10 animal crackers.

I really need to get off the crap snacks at nite, the exercise to burn these is really alot for these stupid snacks. Its a big silly ritual for me with the tv.

Such frustration this morning. I had a long post all set and just as I was about to hit submit....my internet went down. Of course it is dh that is in charge of that so I called him at the office and he said they were working on it. Then I had to wait for 30 min before it came back up. Ugh. So here we go again....

Another gorgeous day here! Think we will grill out again tonight. Dh does the grilling --- gives me a break from cooking and really, things just taste so much better to me on the grill.

K, you have me thinking about tomatoes now. I love them fresh from the garden! I am looking forward to lots of tomatoes in a couple of months -- dh plants a huge garden every year. Never thought of tomatoes as something bad, though. Are they not on Atkins? Of course I had to look up their properties now that you said that. One thick ½” slice is only 6 calories and 1 carb so that doesn’t seem bad at all. Unless you are eating a whole big tomato??? You did great on your 1st day back and good that you posted so you stay on plan today.

YH, I think skinny gal must be sneaking your Slimfasts --- that’s why she is so skinny! You get off work at 2 pm? Did I read that right? That is wonderful, esp. living in Florida with all those nice temps. You can run your errands and still have time for a swim in the pool in the afternoons! Sorry the sleeping meds didn't work last night. I am having trouble with the night-time snacking too. I need the willpower to just give it up altogether. Last night dh was in tremendous tooth pain (still -- his appt isn’t till Monday) so I stayed up later than normal. Ended up snacking at 11 pm, which I definitely didn’t need!! I wasn’t hungry or craving anything -- just bored.

Yesterday’s menu:

B-coffee
L-salad with diced skinless chicken
S-sm pc sugar-free candy
D-beef roast, carrots & onions, lettuce w/low-carb dressing
S-pork rinds, 2 sm pcs sugar-free candy
Late night snack-leftover pork chop, almonds

T, I used to eat breakfast every morning -- scrambled eggs & spinach -- but if I eat breakfast, I find myself wanting a snack before lunchtime. For some reason, it just makes me hungrier. Plus, on the days I go to Curves, I meet my friend at 9:30 am so I don’t have time to cook breakfast. It hasn’t seemed to hurt my weight loss so far by skipping it, so we'll see. Your menu looks great! And all that exercise! I know that’s a struggle for you -- but I bet it helps your weight loss this week. Keep up the good work!!

YH, my friend stops and talks so much at Curves and is a such a slow-poke, that I find myself finishing up my 3 rotations a good 10 min or more before her. Rather than do 4 rotations, which I think would be too much for me, I do some Callanetics while I am waiting for her. Most people do stretching after their Curves rotations anyway, so it doesn’t look odd for me to be standing there doing my thing. I do the one for the neck and the one for the flab under the arms. I am going to watch the tape again today to see if there is another easy one I can do while waiting on her to finish up.

My sorority is washing the mural this afternoon since it was too cold to do it on Friday. There are 14 of us in our club but I doubt everyone will help today.

C, where are you hiding? I hope you are feeling ok and just been too busy to post. We miss you!

Well I better hit submit before I lose this post too! Happy day ladies!! D

Lab results

P.S. Got my lab results yesterday. Three months ago my A1C blood sugar levels were 6.1. Now they are 5.3. That's a good drop. The nurse was so excited that I got them that low PLUS am losing weight.

I think you are on to something D, I am not hungry until I eat the am fruit then I want lunch immediately. I am so happy those blood sugars are down for you ! Yes, I get off at 200pm but I start at 530am - its wonderful-I asked to start earlier but they said no as I would not have a babysitter long enough. I get most of my appts. done, etc. without having to use sick or vacation time. Thats funny about your friend at Curves - 4xs would be too much but glad you are doing a few Callanetics. I do the same thing after - a couple stretches and then the hip/butt and abs. Just got back from Curves and did some Callanetics too....they gave me a sample of a shake mix they are selling-Juice Plus mlm. They sell Curves clothes there too and push that also. The janitor who roams the bldg. asked me if I was ok as HE noticed my weight loss - gee- a guy noticed The wearing of baggy clothes worked for a long time Congrats on your Start Day K ! Tomatoes - they are good for alot of things - the lycopene is great - I would think you could eat mounds of tomatoes. That is so great you have a garden D !!! Not sure what im making or not for dinner - have not seen s3 since Sunday - tired of throwing out food - BF dont care. I contemplated the thought of completely eliminating the snacks too but could we actually do that, I would have to stay out of the bedroom and tv and have nowhere to go but out My Callanetics class is cancelled tonite so thats good because I would not have made it - hopefully I will sleep tonite.

How is your day going T ? I hope C is ok.

Hi, y'all,

We were so busy at work yesterday, I came home and rested. I am finally feeling better.

Y, Body flex is sort of an aerobic breathing /yoga like tape that will really get your heart rate up and tone you up. Greer Childers is the creator, she has a website, BodyFlex Official Website for Body Flex - Your Inch Loss Solution with great photos.

I will have to get my camera back from our son, then I will learn how to post a photo of myself. I have wanted to post a photo for several months.

Well, off to eat on plan for dinner.

Will check in with y'all tomarrow.

Woo-hoo YH!! The men are noticing!! Bf better watch out now. Someday you are going to post a new pic and let us see how skinny you are!

We are having such beautiful weather. We got the courthouse mural and tiles all washed. Perfect day for it, esp. since the word is that we're in for another snowstorm on Thurs & Fri. So yep, looks like May snow afterall. We'll go to Curves tomorrow just in case the weather does get worse later in the week.

I wore my jeans, which are so baggy on me now, and one of my sorority sisters pulled me aside and said she was so proud of how much I've lost so far. First person to really and truly notice without me saying anything, other than dh & my sons, so that felt good.

Dh is grilling burgers for supper and I'm reheating some cabbage soup to go along with it. Sliced tomato too since Kathleen got me in the mood for one. Every year dh makes his garden bigger and bigger. He plants lots of good things -- zucchini, butternut, acorn & summer squash, bell peppers, tomatoes, eggplant, radishes, carrots, turnips, onions, jalapeno & chili peppers, cucumbers, basil, thyme, chives & other herbs, etc. I don't have the strength to work in the garden so it's his own project -- I just get to reap the rewards.

I hope you get some rest tonight, YH. I don't know that I can do away with snacks altogether either, just know that's what I SHOULD do. I have done really good with eating today so even if I do snack tonight, as long as I snack on legal things, I should be okay.

Have a good night ladies! D

P.S. guess we were posting at the same time, SC. Yes, please get your pic up!! K, you need one too!!

No ladies I did not croak from all the tests--nor have I given up (though I have considered it)--just been really busy. Between work & all the testing & then ds came home on Sat & is here thru tomorrow nite. Had both my parents over for dinner tonight for their combined birthday dinner. Went to the dentist & had teeth cleaned today. So that's everything humanly possible I think & I can now move on to the hand doc....

Ok here's the deal. I went w/o eating from 10pm Wed nite til Fri afternoon about 2:00 & then just ate a few bites. Then had a small meal that evening. When I got on the scale on Sat morning I was up 3lbs....well that just fried my behind to put it mildly!! Thought I would be down a couple lbs. So emotionally I have really struggled with my eating the last few days. I kept hopping in & reading the days postings real quick before I buzzes off to the next whatever. It's always a delight to read all your posts & is the only thing that has kept me from just throwing in the towel! Keep thinking how right D is that I would eat myself up to 350 in no time if I quit now. But I just have no humph at this point.

Glad to hear that you are having a hard time hiding your wgt loss YH!! That is grand! Good exercise still too--course that is why you're still losing. Since you are doing so well I think it wouldn't be a good idea to drop your legal nite time snacking. You've got to have something or you will start feeling deprived & cheated and that might lead to trouble. I wouldn't try to cook for everyone w/ all their different schedules cause you do waste so much food. I quit that not long after ds graduated hs & had his own life schedule going on. Made things so much easier.

D your jeans must be falling off with all the lbs lost--and congrats on the getting into the 200's!! That is so great! And all your #'s just keep dropping & dropping. The main thing about your friend going is that it's support no matter how slow she is LOL!! I wouldn't have made my water class last nite if my friend hadn't been waiting at the pool for me. And I'm glad I went as I can really feel it in my stomach muscles & upper thighs today.

T you keep plugging away & I am so proud of you for not giving up Fruits & desserts....what are we gonna do?? And so bad for your sugar #'s! Made a Snickerdoodle cake for tonight. Remember snickerdoodle cookies?? Use to make 'em all the time years ago & you could never make enough as everyone just scarfed 'em down. So it's a nice lite cinnamon cake & mom wouldn't take any home with them! So now I have this half a cake sitting on the counter. Think I will put a piece in dh lunch tomorrow & put the rest in the freezer in individual servings.

Glad to hear that you are on track today K!! You were doing well before so I'm sure you will fall back into place quickly. Your kitchen sounds great. Having the veggies & a bit more fruit is the reason I got all the SB books & read them. If I stand any chance of ever succeeding I will need to be able to enjoy things like tomates & an orange.

Well I can't comment on all the post as I missed too many days...everyone have a great Wed.

I wasn't going to post again tonight but then I read your post, C, and felt I wanted to just say a quick back. I know you were only gone a few days, but it feels like much longer!

I know how frustrating it can get when that darn scale is not cooperating. But don't give up just yet. You're doing so good with the exercising -- you're bound to lose inches if nothing else. I'm always up during the first part of the week and then the numbers move down by the end of the week, maybe that is happening to you. In any event, when you don't do great one week, the following week is usually a good one, so hang in there!! The important thing is that you are back and you are facing reality -- no denying that this week has been a stressful one for you with all your tests and b'day celebrations, etc. But remember that tomorrow is another day and let's face it....that 3 lbs could turn into 3 more by the end of the week, and 3 more the following week, if you don't stay on track, so keep a positive attitude and keep coming back to us!! We all hit plateaus and struggles, every one of us, and it's important that we seek each other out for support so that we can get over those hurdles without giving up.

Excellent idea about freezing the cake in individual servings. That way you won't be tempted by seeing it everyday. (I love snickerdoodles!).

Anyway, get on your gazelle tomorrow or jump around while you're at your client's. Just keep moving and eventually those lbs will start falling off!!

D

The body flex sounds familiar SC, I have some tapes called oxycise from long ago and believe its the same concept.

Glad you did not give up C - I am surprised after the colonoscopy cocktail, I would have been nuts too ! I probably think of throwing in the towel at least 3xs a week as im so tired and the dieting-exercise feels like a non stop full time job, just hang in there and the pounds will start going-maybe you want to consider a diff. woe plan that works for you? Don't know-just an idea and not sure how successful you have been in the past with the one your on. I would think SB would be a good one. Anyway get going and dont give up-you dont want to see the 3's and keep thinking of D's speech, so glad you went to the pool class !

I am so grateful to all of you here as you guys keep me motivated and I feel this is getting so old - after my Sat. weigh in I just think im starting a new week-I know i post often but it keeps me going as I feel the very burnt out syndrome as of late. You are a major part of my success whether you are losing or not.

I figured those not so long ago tight jeans would be baggin on you D and glad your friend noticed. My office roomie yelled at me yesterday quietly to please dispose of my fat clothes-of course she has no idea what my place looks like with mounds of clothing in 10 diff. sizes and she is a sz 2-4 because she has always taken care of herself in her stress free healthy life living alone and buys 200 t shirts-I really need a time frame when BF and S3 are gone attack-I did fill one bin and just need to take to trash or donate. Someone else commented from work yesterday and asked why I am losing and I should stop-I call this the female sabatoge group which I am beginning to encounter more frequently, people who are not your friends who dont want you to weigh less than they are or the same-dont matter if they weigh 110 or 250 (Women who normally dont speak to you or you barely know) Another one - you look older in the face, you look sick,-well unfortunately this comes with weight loss and at 56 it dont bounce back like it use too, same with the stomach excess skin-has to be sliced off. I may start face building exercises soon and see if that helps as sons bled me dry for any hopes of a facelift and tummy tuck.

Tues.
am-pineapple and cantelope, drink potion
lunch-salad with cuke, tom, 1 egg, and 1 babybel
dinner-seasoned ground chuck patty and frozen veggies
snacks-fruiti and lc ice cream sandwich

Very sore today - hair appt. tonite.

Good morning gals! Hope everyone had a good day yesterday.

YH, I hate when people sabotage those of us trying to lose weight. But I know what you mean. Even dh does it to me, without realizing it. He'll constantly offer me a bite of his dessert or tell me to go ahead and have a sl of pizza if it's what I'm craving. Ugh. I finally had to tell him that he is sabotaging my diet by offering me things I am struggling not to eat. He needs to encourage my weight loss, not put obstacles in front of it! In the beginning, my sorority sisters would offer me the desserts at meetings, and tell me "Oh you can have angel food cake, can't you?" but now they know to offer once and if I say no, just move onto the next person. And no one points out that I am not eating while the rest of them are. But these are friends...and you're right...there is a difference. I think your co-workers are jealous of your success, so the heck with them, because who needs friends like that??!!

I hope you feel better. Sore from too much exercise?? At least it's a good pain then. Have fun getting your hair done tonight. That always makes me feel better.

As far as extra skin and wrinkles....my thoughts are this....in either case, fat or wrinkles, I'm not going to look model-perfect, right?? So I'd rather have the wrinkles and extra skin than the obese stomach, thighs and butt. I'm not the type to wear bikinis, no matter how tiny I ever become, so a flimsy stomach isn't going to be the end of the world for me. I can buy a pr of tight jeans and stuff that extra skin in and hide it a lot better than I can hide the obesity, that's for sure. There's so many creams and lotions out on the market these days, I'm sure I can work on those wrinkles when the time comes because I can't afford facelifts or tummy tucks either. I mean really, which is the lesser of the 2 evils...looking a little older or being fat?? I guess I've had enough of the fat ---- bring on those wrinkles!!

One thing I thought about YH, do you think you are getting all these comments about losing "too much" weight because your clothes are so baggy? Perhaps it's not really what your body looks like, but actually the huge difference in the clothes size. Get into those bins and pull out a few smaller outfits or maybe order a couple of new outfits in smaller sizes, and I'd be curious to see if you still get those comments. I don't think you like calling attention to yourself but you are a beautiful thinner woman and you should flaunt it!!

I know I post too much on this board. I check it constantly. I confess -- it's the first thing I do in the morning and the last thing at night. And fifty million times during the day when I am home. But I find so much support and encouragement here, and I know I wouldn't be losing weight if I didn't have you guys to help me. So that's another reason you can't quit, C...I'm not done with you yet!!!

Well once again I snacked too much last night. I really need to curb it after supper. There's just no need for it, it's not like I'm starving. I think mostly I am bored in the evenings. Dh is in so much pain that if he falls asleep early, I hate to wake him, so I find this long lonely evening ahead of me and so I watch tv or sit at the computer and snack. I need to keep myself busy and find a little project to work on instead. I wish I knew how to crochet -- that would keep my hands busy while I watched tv!! Maybe I will find someone to teach me.

Yesterday's menu:

B-coffee
L-1 pork chop, 1 sm sl roast
D-2 burgers, 4 sl tomato, 1 sl onion, cabbage soup
S-pork rinds, 4 sm pc sugar-free candy, 2 string cheese, 4 sugar-free freeze pops, 10 almonds, 1/4 cup cottage cheese, 1 pc lettuce

Today is a new day and I'm determined to get that scale moving in the right direction. It's just so up and down again this week. I need to focus and remember that saying...a moment on the lips, forever on the hips!!

Going to Curves this morning so that should lift my spirits and put me in the right frame of mind. We're halfway thru the week ladies...we can do it!!!

D

Just a quick note - the female sabatoge group has surfaced only since I wore the smaller bottoms that arrived from ebay - so its not the baggy clothes as I look fatter in those.

Well then they are just jealous, plain and simple. Don't let them bring you down. You're losing weight in the right way --- healthy eating & exercise --- and that's what matters. I don't know what you look like in person, but reading your menus and exercise plans, I don't think you are overdoing it. I think you are very inspiring and hope that I can become as determined and motivated as you!!! Keep up the great work!!!

Okay, I'm off to Curves now. Have a wonderful 'fat-free' day!!

Hello Ladies,

YH -I am going to agree with the others. Everyone’s jealous!! You were looking frumpy and now your not!! They can’t stand for you to be doing so well! You have dropped some considerable weight and by not saying anything all of a sudden you are the “new girl” in town! Let them eat toast!
C- Glad your back- I know how things can be so deceiving when your doing well and then don’t loose- but remember you are exercising too. That makes a huge difference. You will probably start dropping the lbs after next week if you just stick with it!!
D-Someone really noticed!! That’s wonderful!! Time to get into a new pair-as fast as things are going , get one and then just wash often because you won’t be in that size too long!!
T-I thought about you yesterday, I was getting a few things at the store and blamed you for getting me on the almond kick!! They were out again except for the expensive ones so I’ll have to wait again!
S- Glad your felling better, I need to check into the body flex web site, is it easy??

Well ladies I have been good going on the 3rd day now!! I had London Broil last night with broccoli w/cheese and marinated cukes, tomato and onion. It was so good. I also cooked up and seasoned some ground beef to make taco salad for today. That was delish. I mixed ranch and picante sauce to make a dressing. I could eat that w/ pork rinds!!
I love steak and since I don't have a gas grill yet, I haven't been cooking any for weeks! But I may solve that after work today. I am headed to Sears to check out a grill that has the rear rotiserior on it. This way I could do 2 chickens at a time. ( I treated myself to a BBQ grill line on the gas line when we had the gas lines redone at the house!) No more running after propane!
While on this woe , one can never have too much Chicken on hand!

Todays menu
B- 2 Boiled eggs, chunk of cheddar, coffee w/cream
S-2 Slices of ham w/ cream cheese
L-Taco salad w/dressing. Diet Pepsi
S- Slice of ham w/ cream cheese
D-leftover London broil and some veggies or salad

We have been eating so late since my DH gets home at 8:00, I haven’t had time to snack at night! I don’t think it is that healthy to eat so late either……………no time to burn anything off. Glad everybody’s on track.

I will try to check in later

Boy you can't win as a woman can you---you put on wgt everyone comments you're fat---take it off & they are jealous and catty! I say dress sharp, ignore 'em, & watch them turn green with envy & have a melt down Laugh all the way to the smaller rack at the store!!

I too check this site who knows how many times a day...but the support is so good. Plus I'm always wanting to know how somebodies story is going...LOL!!

Yeah YH I was just stumped as to how I could drink that nasty colon cocktail & totally blow myself clean, plus eating nothing for about 38hrs, & then eating very lightly for the next day---get on the scale & be up 3lbs???? I just wigged out Took the scales to the basement & dropped it into a box w/ a bunch of other junk. Almost threw it out but I'm too cheap to do that...I am so done with that scale. If my clothes don't tell me anything then I'll just assume I'm still fat. Actually I can just look in the mirror after my shower & count the rolls

So I have not done good the past few days. Just keep reading the posts & trying to get over my temper trantrum---know I am only hurting myself but I am still mad!

Glad to see that you have 3 days under your belt K! Your roasted ck sounds so good!! Am happy to hear that you have been able to get some of the "extras" w/your new home! Did you loose all your kids baby pics etc?? All the other crap can be replaced but those things are the hard ones.

Dh is gone taking ds back to campus. He took him when he got in from work at 4:30; this is my late nite where I get home at 7:30 and they didn't want to wait that late. It's been nice actually as things have been crazy busy for the last week again. Use to thrive on all the activity---now I just get tired lol!!!

Think you are so right YH that this really is a full time job on top of everything else in our lives--that was a really good point. No wonder we get so tired of it every few days....especially when you are on top of your exercising.
Will have to process this all some more.

Well need to go dig thru the kitchen for some dinner. That stupid cake is sitting on the counter calling my name! Must take 2 min's to slice & throw in the freezer.

Wow, so much goes on when you just miss a day! Anyway, Y, I agree with all the other gals that what you're dealing with here is jealousy masked as concern for your health. So I hope you get some gratification from that. On the rare occasions when I have lost weight somewhat quickly and my face looked a bit tired, I noticed that when I went into maintenance that the dark circles went away and my skin plumped up a bit. So you have that to look forward to when you stabilize, but which is minor compared to the tremendous feat you have accomplished in your weight loss! And I'm with D on the stomach--if I ever get mine down, I'm going to be happy to scrunch that loose skin inside my jeans and zip 'er up tight! You are an inspiration, Y!

And C, I hope you are feeling more motivated today. I recall the other day that you mentioned feeling happy that you weigh quite a bit less than last year this time, and that is something to be proud of and happy about! So keep hangin in here, and try not to let a few lbs. derail you! It must have been some water retention from all those tests. Glad you had a nice time celebrating your parents' birthdays! That sounds so sweet!

D, you are incredibly strong to withstand your friends and your dh offering you goodies all the time! I really got after my dh the other night for doing that--he was eating candy in front of me and when I complained, he offered me some! Is that the way to treat a diabetic!? Honestly! D, you may be snacking in front of the TV, but it's all legal! Way to go! If it stalls your weight loss, then you can make the adjustment. Do you like to drink tea or anything? I just do that, and tell myself no snack until bedtime, and don't eat anything while watching the TV. Somehow this gets me through, but crocheting is a lot of fun! I used to do it and I really enjoyed it.
BTW, congrats on getting your A1C down so low--that's awesome! Even if you hadn't lost weight, the diet would have been worth it just for that! Just curious--I was wondering what the mural you washed was a picture of?

K, your menus look really great, very low carb--I bet you'll see quite a drop this first week being back on the program! It always helps to stock up on all the low carb stuff, so you always have something to eat and no excuses to backslide! Almonds are good for you, K! (Also, I don't eat more than 10 for a snack.)

S, the Bodyflex exercise sounds interesting--thanks for the link; and congrats on staying on plan yet another day!

I have done well the last two days, exercising and eating on plan. Yesterday I got into lipolysis and turned the strips dark pink! I love it when that happens--means I'm burning fat, and I find it motivating. Also, it makes me less hungry. Yesterday's menu:

B - lox, egg yolk (don't like whites), cr ch, spinach
L - salad, w/r beef, salami, mushrooms, blue cheese
D - chicken breast w/mayo, asparagus, wax beans
S - cheddar cheese, almonds

Have a happy day on track tomorrow, everyone! T.

Wow T, you are really doing great with your eating and exercising!! That is awesome. Now what is lipolysis? I never heard of that. Our courthouse/town museum/library are all in the same old building and on the front is a mural of a....cow. Sounds funny but this is cattle country and it's a really old mural. Lime and rust got to the mural and the tiles surrounding it, so the caretaker of the museum asked our sorority if we would be interested in cleaning it for a service project. The museum paid for the cleaning products and we sorority members volunteered our time and efforts. There were 7 of us that showed up to help so we got it done in no time at all.

K, congrats on your 3rd day on plan. You sound very motivated, which is great! So did you get a new grill? We swear by our's in the nice weather and cook out as much as possible. Wish we had the gas line like you. That must be so nice!

C, I don't blame you for being mad. Must drive you crazy to know you were not eating or eating so little and then the scale moves in the wrong direction. Ugh. The visual of you tossing that scale in the basement made me laugh, only because I've felt the very same frustration many times myself! I think T may be right -- might only be water retention so give it a few days and hopefully those numbers will go down.

YH, hope your night is going well. How are your sleeping meds -- find one that works yet? I think there was one that worked better than the others, wasn't there??

I think you have a good idea about not snacking late at night, K. So rather than cut out the snacking altogether, I made a pact with myself tonight to not snack after 8 pm. Plus I made sure to fill up on soup at supper so that I wouldn't be hungry later on. So far it's working.

Today's menu:

B-coffee
L-salad w/diced skinless chicken
S-1 babybel, 1 string cheese
D-1 burger in lettuce wrap, 3 mini dill pickles, cabbage soup
S-2 bran crackers (0 carbs) with soy p'nut butter (0 carbs)

I skipped out on a baby shower I was invited to attend tonight. I was just so exhausted after Curves today -- gave myself a good workout but then was sore afterwards and didn't feel like going back out later. So I dropped off a present earlier and stayed in tonight. Ds2 went to a cookout for his last day of Bible Study tonight, so I quickly made a choc bundt cake when I came home this afternoon. I put a sugar glaze on it and it tastes just like those glaze-covered choc donuts. Wasn't happy that he brought some leftovers home but it is only 1/4 of the cake and ds1 is coming home from college tomorrow so he will help finish it off.

Well Top Chef just came on and I promised dh I would watch it with him. Not good to be watching a cooking show when I just told myself I wouldn't snack anymore tonight! Hopefully I don't get tempted!!!

Have a great night ladies! D

I will really be in big trouble at work today with comments as the hair gal did a burgandy red that is pretty dark and dramatic looking-can't say if I like it or not and my hair color changes so much from the sun and pool that it will be a diff. color in a wk. I really wish people that are not my friends would mind their own business. My office roomie will hate this color but I like to experiment and its only hair.

K - great going on day 3 ! I think the eating dinner late is better than eating earlier and snacking for another 2 hours so look at it that way, ive seen the plans where you should not eat 3 hrs. prior to nighty nite but I could never do that. A gas line grill-wow-we dont have gas here-so always a standoff to see who will fill the propane tank as I am in a 10 unit condo. I stopped filling because of my back so when its gone its gone.

T - You are doing great so hang in there-your back on track, yes, whats the lipo thing for ? Glad you and D gave dh a talk for eating the junk in front of you. Yeah, whats with these guys and the food in front of our faces-BF knows better-his deal is I need to rest and take it easy, too obssessed = lay around in bed with him, cater to, and then I snack. I have him trained that I need to leave the house to lose weight on the weekends When he goes in the pool with me he wants me to just sit there and listen to him !

C- Why dont you throw the colonoscopy scale out and if you are able buy a nice new one and start again-pick a day - maybe Monday. Maybe you want to try a diff. plan-you may need to switch things up thats all. I have done this and the new scale gave me incentive as silly as it sounds. Now you could get a pc. of clothing that you are 5 pounds away from and report on that too. You are having a bad week-thats all-happens to all of us-dont beat yourself up.

I hope the cow was winking at you D ! Don't blame you for skipping the shower-I was exhausted yesterday too - sore from Curves and Callanetics and day 3 no sleep. I am out of trial sleeping pills so I picked one but will probably take 2 weeks with the mail order. How did the snacking after 8 go ? Ok, you guys are right-they are mad-jealous I lost weight, oh the witch is really ticked-I see her peeping at me out of a corner hole when I go to the kitchen at work-doubly dirty looks-noises-what a nut job.

Thurs.
am-pineapple and cantelope
lunch-oatmeal w few strawberries, 1 babybel
dinner-light eng.muffin and scrambled eggs
snack-fruiti, rice cake, l.c ice cream sand.
exercise - none

Okay I am barely awake, sipping my first cup of coffee, and I sit here reading that not only is YH ditching the baggy fat clothes but now she is a sexpot going to work with her dramatic new "do" and slinky skinny clothes. I spit coffee all over my computer screen laughing so hard! You go girl!!!!! Those she-devils at work must have died when this dark-haired beauty sauntered into work today!!! Wish I could have been there to see the look on their faces. (We would have so much fun going after those gals if we worked together!!) I also wish you would take a darn picture and show us!!! I bet you looked gorgeous!!!

I did really good last night and the only snack I succumbed to after 8 pm was one string cheese (and that was after watching the cooking show so I think it was more of a temptation deal than a true hunger). But the scale is still not cooperating. Maybe Corrissann had the right idea afterall. I think I will try the Callanetics and meltbelt today since I am home and have nowhere to go. If ds1 comes home early from college, I will nix the Callanetics because that would give him too much ammo to make fun of me.

It was 81 degrees yesterday. I think that's what wiped me out. The heat really affects my MS and causes major fatigue and achiness, I can barely move around when I am really hot. I actually had to put the a/c on for about 30 min just to cool the house off. We were supposed to get a bad snowstorm last night but nothing so far.

Yes T, I meant to comment on your dh eating the candy in front of you. My dh keeps bags of candy in the headboard and late at night I hear, crinkle, crinkle, crinkle as he sneaks a piece. I think that's what has gotten me on the sugar-free candy kick as of late -- if you can't beat 'em, join 'em!! Probably what's stalling my loss this week so I didn't have any yesterday and will try to keep away from it for the rest of the week and see if that helps. I read on one of the other boards that Splenda stalls the weight loss for some people. Wonder if that happened with you, C??? (Still trying to figure that mystery out -- it really has me perplexed!).

Well gals, I must wipe the coffee off the computer screen and get on with my day. Thanks for bringing a smile to my face this morning, YH.

Have a great day ladies!! D

You got me crackin up with the sexpot D, maybe 25 years ago. Basically all that happenned today was I got wierd looks by a few people and 3 compliments on the hair but I think they were just being polite. I went to Curves after work and did about 75% of what I normally do -due to just being plain old tired. The mind wants to - the body don't. The dr.s office called and my cholesterol went from 261 last yr. to 198 now so no choles. meds ! I guess the diet-exercise thing really works ! Ughhh. D - the heat - sorry it affects the MS so bad - it sounds like you will have to stay inside all summer except to the car and other ac places. I hate the heat too and it makes me want to puke, I want to leave Fl. when I retire. Now what is the brand of string cheese again that tastes halfway decent-is it more than one of the babybel's filling up wise ? Not sure if im making dinner or not-s3 not around much-now he met some "old woman"-he thinks 35- who looks like Pamela Anderson and has an oceanfront condo and big bucks. He had to ask her for money for the valet at her place, geesh...then she goes to work and says he can hang out if he wants-I wish she would pay his bills and let him move in or adopt him-so s3 is a gigolo this week, he advised me skinny gal is just a "friend", ughhh.

Congrats on lowering your chol., YH. I knew you would get great results!! Must feel wonderful to cut out a med like that (or not go on one if you hadn't yet).

So now s3 is onto the Baywatch Babe?? This one sounds more promising if she has her own beachfront condo and lots of $$. I bet SHE wouldn't steal your Slimfasts.

I buy the Kraft string cheese. I think they might be a little higher in calories/fat than the babybel lites, but they take me a little longer to eat because I "peel" them into several strings to eat --- they last longer that way. I find the babybels go down too quickly, sometimes before I even move away from the refrigerator.

It's pretty cold here today, dark skies, strong winds, supposed to snow later. Big difference from the 80 degrees yesterday. I was going to grill shish kebob but not in this weather, so I made a big crockpot of beef stew with potatoes & veggies for dh and ds1, small pot of beef stew w/only potatoes for ds2 (my non-veggie eater) and another pot of cabbage soup for me. I will make some crescent rolls for them later and then maybe have a pc of low-carb pita bread for myself. Stayed away from the snacking today -- but the days aren't really my problem -- it's the nights that do me in.

Ds1 came home from college this afternoon and after talking for a few min, passed out in the recliner. I imagine he's tired from this week's finals and packing up to move home for the summer. I snuck off to my bed and got myself a 20 min nap in. Felt wonderful.

Glad you went to Curves, even if you didn't go full-speed. Anything is better than nothing. Maybe a dip in the pool will rejuvenate you?

Have a good night! D

P.S. YH, most people retire TO Florida!! Maybe you need to retire in good ole Ashby, huh???
