Thanks C, I made the cauliflower for myself and it was a real treat, I had LF shredded cheese on hand, it was fine by itself ( without meat ) I had leftover chicken but did not want to put it in the cauliflower. How did your physical go today ???? Hope you got to take your walk ! I hate cottage cheese so I could not do the other recipe but how did it turn out ?

Mon.

am-cantelope,strawberries,grapes

lunch- salad w 1 babybel light and 1 sl. turkey breast

dinner - leftover rotis. chicken and baked cauliflower. I made italian sausage w pasta for the guys ( they are not fans of cauliflower but I am ). Im sick of this kitchen now.

snacks- plan is a famous fruiti and quaker mini cakes.

exercise - none / resting as tomorrow is my class and I don't want to mess myself up My body was tired last week so im resting so I maybe do betterI dont think they really want a 2.5 hr. class because of me

Your right about the string cheese - I tried it a couple x's but must have bought the wrong brand- anyway I love the Laughing Cow in the tiny packages and I found it alot cheaper at another store so thats a keeper.

Hope you made it to Curves D - I wish mine had better hours - Tues. and Thur. they are open on my way home and I now have the class on Tues. and this week hair on Thurs. My other option is to hang out at work for an extra hour can't stand the thought of it.

Well YH, maybe you and psycho co-worker could go out for coffee to kill some time.

Yes, I did make it to Curves. Just in time since we ran into a blinding snowstorm on the way home. We still stopped for salads and to do some shopping because by the time we made it back to this area, it was just flurries.

It's still snowing now but I hope it stops soon because I am on the go again tomorrow. Need to go make breakfast with my sorority at 6:30 am for the high school kids taking assessment tests and then I need to run to Alliance to a major grocery store since ds2 told me this morning that he needs mussels for Biology for Wed morning. Nothing like waiting till the last minute and also picking something that I don't have here at home. He said he couldn't use shrimp or scallops since someone else has those. I assume they are dissecting these creatures. So I will drive the hour there and back to get him some mussels. Dh told me not to give him the whole bag, we will cook up the rest for us.

Those recipes look good, C. I think I will make the Kugel since I don't want the carbs of the flour and I don't have any xanthan gum. (I believe that is a thickener for sauces and gravies??) I'm sure you could use ricotta cheese instead of cottage cheese, unless you don't like that either, YH. Everyone out here makes their lasagna with cottage cheese but I swear by ricotta.

I threw a roast (beef) in the oven this afternoon. It's so cold out and I thought that would be a good warm meal. The guys will have roasted potatoes and garlic breadsticks with it, but I might make that baked cauliflower for myself. Thanks C.

I have done really good with my eating today. Hopefully tonight will be good too. YH, your menu looks great as usual. How is everyone else doing today?

D

oh no

Not the nasty S*** word D.....oh please NOOO0000ooooo
It was 70 & windy here today

Doc report was pretty good. Had the exam, pap, EKG, chest xray. Have to schedule my mamg & colonoscopy.
My cholesterol #'s were too high this time so I am going to try Crestor for a month. Very pleased w/this doc & office! Have to call the hand doc too. Due to the unexpected change in my schedule I at least have time to make appt's now w/o having to take time off work.

The Cauliflower Kugel looked wonderful when it came out of the oven. In a dish baked like that it all melts so the cc might not be a problem. Course ricotta would be fine I'm sure D. Will let you know about the taste tomorrow. Yes the xg is a thickener. Have you ever tried the Ricotta Creme recipes in phase one of the SB book? There is a almond, a vanilla, a lime, & a mocha. Am curious--even though I've not really cared for ricotta in the past. They are very high in protein & I like that.

Glad the caulf bake worked out for you 2. I also made the Pizza Meat Loaf. Not sure if you would make it for a variety of reasons YH, but I think you'd like it D & would be willing to put it all together. It's one that your guys would probably like too. It's rich cause there is so much in it & I like to have some in the freezer for the days that I really need something that will stick to my ribs to keep me out of trouble. Usually steam some broccoli to go with it, but a simple green salad works well too. Tomorrow I want to get a couple chicken dishes together. Have to scout thru some recipes tonight.

I didn't get my walk by the river as I have had a slight cough & sore throat yesterday & today. Figured the damp probably wasn't a good idea. Think I picked something up with ds & all those folks in the waiting rooms. Anyway I did get 30mins done on the Gazelle. I don't have trouble fitting in the exercise when I'm not on the full work schedule.

bkft=coffee w cream, 4tbsp
s=cheese stick & 15 almonds
l=1/2c ck lentil stew
d=slice pizza meat loaf broccoli
s=sf fudgsicle

Wow C, you really had a complete physical, didn't you??!! Isn't it wonderful having that extra day off all to yourself?? Sounds like you are enjoying it, even if you did have to have a dr appt.

Well I don't think you even have to hesitate about that pizza meatloaf recipe!! Sounds like something I would love so please share!

Sorry to hear you coming down with something. I am too. Scratchy throat and dry cough so far. Plus I think I have an infection because my gum is all swollen and throbbing around my upper molar.

My trip tomorrow to Alliance was cancelled because ds2 said their "project" was postponed till Thurs and one of his classmate's mother has to go to a track meet in a bigger town on Wed, so she will pick up the seafood. Whew. One less thing for me to do. The principal said he would call me at 5 am tomorrow morning to let me know if school will be cancelled or not due to the weather, since we have that breakfast to serve.

Yes C, the "S" is still coming down hard and accumulating. I am SO ready for Spring!!

I have tried those ricotta desserts -- makes it taste like a creamy pudding. Very good. I like to put ricotta and mozzarella on eggplant or zucchini and broil it. Mmmm and very low-carb. I didn't have time to make the cauliflower tonight so will save for another night as it looks real yummy!

Today's menu:

B-string cheese
L-salad w/grilled chicken in it (restaurant)
D-beef, cabbage, lettuce, bran cracker w/soy p'nut butter
S-hopefully none!!

Have a great night! D

HI, thanks for the info on the thread and the Callenetic's Evoultion.

Yum, the cauliflower baked and the other recipe sounds so good. I will have to try it. I love cauliflower.

Today was:
B- whey protein scoop in hood lc milk, fiber smart, vanilla mixed in the blender
L- chef salad w/ lc Italian dressing, few grapes, few tiny dill pickles
D- popeyes' chicken, orginal, which has very few carbs with the skin off, which is how I eat it, tossed green salad w/ veggies, lc dressing, sf popsickle.
(on Monday's , dh has to be gone untill late, our local Popeye's chick place has a cheap deal , so on Monday's we eat from there). I looked the nutrition facts up on the web site, so I felt better about having a piece.

Exercise: 45 minute walk up hills, 1.75 miles/pedometer at work today.

Have a great one, all.

Hi, Gals--

Got my laptop back--it only had a defective adapter and they kept it 4 days! I probably wouldn't have got it back tonight if I hadn't called them to find out what was going on.

Congratulations to everyone on all the great exercising and eating on track! YH, you really went at it in the pool, and SC, 45 min. uphill walk--that's awesome! Glad you made it to curves, D. And looks like you got on the gazelle, C, but sorry to hear you're under the weather. Good report from the doc so far--hope all your tests come out fine; and good for you to get all that done! Love the cauliflower recipe, too. And congrats, C, on the 2 lb. loss!

I'm a little tired tonight, but I'm going to the gym tomorrow, and I'm really going to try starting tomorrow to just go back to eating vegetables and protein--the grains they want me to eat have just driven my appetite up too much and I've gained more weight. I'm just going to get my carbs from the vegetables; I can't go on like this!

Have a great day tomorrow--TTYL. T.

Glad the new doc turned out good C, that can be a nightmare when they switch those plans and on the gazelle. I guess you will have Mondays off for awhile now, thats great, I find it hard to exercise after work too. Your menu's are lookin good. They gave me the Crestor too but never took it, my friend got off the choles. stuff and attributes it to lots of cinnamon-they have cinn. pills too. I have been putting cinnamon on my fruit.

Geez, snowing in April....I can feel the stinking hot weather arriving already-it was our 2nd hottest winter since the 1800's I believe. I would call about the tooth asap D - you may need antibiotics now and hopefully thats it. Did you have the pleasure of gum surgery yet? Ughhh. Glad the mussels run worked in your favor.

Popeye's chicken - I have not had that in ages - that chain is not real prominent here. What did you do with the pedometer at work? You did 1.75 at work?, or was that 1.75 walking up the hill, I bought one too hoping to move more at work-hopefully take out of package today. Is hood a brand of milk? What kind of work do you do ?

Your veggies and protein sounds good - hope that does not goof up all the numbers with the diabetes tho - I am not well versed on that. I think the simpler I keep things the better, hope you get to the gym today. I wrote gym 2002 a letter saying I would like a free month or 2 for my inconvenience since their stuff is always broke-can't hurt to try.

Wow how great is this to be up in the morning with time to myself Been so long since I worked part time I forgot what it's like. Have my ck breasts out thawing & am going to go thru my ck recipes after this. I have a bag with a few ck wings & hate to throw 'em out. Think I'll do the buffalo wings where you shake 'em in dry taco seasoning mix & then bake. Or I can boil 'em just to make up some more nice rich (defatted after of course) ck broth for the freezer.
I have a really hard time speaking up for myself YH, & yet how can something be corrected if you don't??? So I think the letter was a good idea. I take it you signed a contract you can't get out of? What if you refuse to pay til they fix?
Hottest winter since the 1880's.....omg that's my idea of he!!...hope that doesn't mean your summer is gonna be a sizzler!!! Have to live in your pool til your roots go hot pink LOL!!!
And a snow alert D???? What a crummy way to bring in spring!! Was the bkf canceled?
Glad you got your laptop back T!! When ds gave me his old one (we bought him a new one to start school last fall) I wasn't all that excited. But of course now I am spoiled w/not having to deal with dh & all his time plus changes on the computer in the den. My laptop isn't portable as the battery doesn't work anymore & the wireless card sometimes gives me trouble connecting w/ the internet. And I can't use the dvd on it either. So basically ds really needed a new one LOL! And this suits my needs just fine as I am fine to sit at the dining room table plugged into the wall. When it totally dies I will be so lost.....boy we get spoiled quick huh!
YH I used Red Rice Yeast capsules for a long time for the cholesterol & it brought the #'s back in line cause they weren't terribly high. Now I'm high enough that it's not doing it for me. I have heard of the cinnamon use also. So we'll see what happens.
Will have to get the lf ricotta now & try those cremes. Always missed the sf puddings on the lc plans. That was always such a good treat for me.
Ok off to investigate some ck recipes. And to call my mom--today is her 80th birthday--how way cool is that!!!!
She has always been the best mom! My stepdad's birthday is this month too so I always do a joint bth dinner for them the middle of the month.
Later gal's---

Glad you got your laptop back, T.

YH, I take cinnamon pills daily. T, you might think about doing that. Cinnamon helps metabolize your sugar levels. Didn't know about the cholesterol so I guess that is an added bonus. I don't have high cholesterol. Maybe this is why.

Snow is still on the ground but the roads were clear this morning. Got my 5 am wake-up call from the principal that our breakfast was still on. The kids loved the breakfast burritos, tater tots, quartered oranges and grape juice we made. Our school normally does not serve breakfast so this was a treat for those that wanted to get to school early today. Many kids had seconds so that meant it was a hit.

to your Mom, C. Wow, 80, that is excellent. Good for her!!

I'll be curious to see if the Crestor bothers your back, C. Dh was on it and had to switch to a different med because it gave him such backaches.

I'm finding that I need a night-time snack or else my sugar levels are way too low when I go to bed. I need to figure something out because all my snacks are either low-carb or zero carb. Will have to experiment tonight.

I'm getting anxious about all this snow and cold weather. The outfits I ordered for next week's events are both capris and I planned to wear sandals because I thought we'd be having nice Spring weather about now. I'll be so mad if I cannot wear these new clothes and have to search for something at the last minute.

No Curves today. Cannot do 2 days in a row or I am in too much pain. Will try for tomorrow, weather permitting.

Happy Day Everyone! D

Good Morning, Gals--

C, it is so good to hear you up in the am and feeling so chipper! You really need and deserve some time for yourself! How long do you get to work part-time now? Did dh come around? Congrats on your mom's 80th today. This is interesting because tonight I am going to a friend's 50th and also one of my stepgranddaughters has her 15th today as well! Does your mom live nearby? If the crestor doesn't work well for you, just wanted to tell you that dh and a couple friends take lipitor and it works really well for them. I know mine is high but I have fallen through the cracks on this one, and I don't want to be taking any more meds! I'm with you on this one, YH! Guess I'll be putting cinnamon on my spinach in the morning!

D, you mean you were up at 5 am this morning, went to the school and fixed breakfast for how many? kids and are back already thinking about what to fix for lunch? You are amazing! I sure hope it warms up so you can wear your sandals and capris. What color? I bet you look just darling in them!

I am too short to wear cropped pants, and it makes me so sad because they are so fashionable! Right now all my pants are tight because of the 8 lbs. I've regained due to the neurontin and just plain blowing it! But I'm going back on my original plan that was working for me and had breakfast on track this am. NO toast, not even low carb. I have got to get this weight off! PLanning to have salad and meat for lunch, and some kind of meat and veggies for dinner, don't know what yet. I think I would do better if dh wasn't at home all the time. He's always in the kitchen messing around cooking his own food, and he eats high carb, and the whole thing just throws me off. It's one reason I just have to get out of the house and eat lunch out. Then I an too tired after exercising to fix dinner, so I just eat whatever he has cooked, or go out wherever he wants to go. I know I have to change this pattern, but I don't seem to have the energy to do it. Got to get it together!!!

YH, is this your callanetics night? We want a full report! You have really been going gangbusters on the exercise--you must be getting in great shape! Good for you for trying to get something out of that gym, you might as well give it a shot. Gyms are notorious for not providing good service. When we were on vacation, our gym decided to do a big locker clean-out, and they took all my stuff out of my locker, and I had to go up and search for my clothes in the lost and found, and of course my best sweatpants and jacket and shorts were taken. And they did not offer me any kind of compensation whatsoever, just a feeble "sorry about that"... Hope you get a better result! Re the hot weather, look at it this way--maybe you'll end up sweating the lbs. off!

Take care, everyone, and wish me luck today trying to pull myself up out of this addictive carb binge I've been on! Just one meal and one snack at a time! T.

I hope you get your carbs under control, T. I know how hard it is to do. You just need to focus and get determined, which it sounds like you are doing!

I read something on the bulletin board at Curves yesterday...."Nothing tastes so good as being in shape feels." That is very true.

Yes, I have been to the high school and back this morning. Remember we are a very small school so we only fed about 55 students, teachers and staff members because not all the kids came in early. I skipped breakfast because the phone was ringing when I walked in the door and has not stopped since. I had very little lunch, just a sl of turkey breast, a sl of cheese and some cottage cheese. I'm trying YH's advice of keeping it simple because that's how I did it in the beginning and I was losing more that way.

I find myself cooking 2 different meals these days, one for dh & ds2 and a different one for myself. It's a pain but it's so worth it in the long run, don't you think? I really do think you should make up some meals ahead of time and freeze them like C does. Then all you would have to do is pop them in the microwave every night.

I think protein and veggies is a good idea for you right now. You can get a good amount of carbs from the vegetables, without the weight gain, so that sounds like a good plan to me. Then maybe you won't get so frustrated, knowing that you are losing weight AND maintaining your sugar levels. I did read somewhere that simply sprinkling cinnamon on your food is not enough. The capsuled cinnamon is a stronger raw strength and can be found at most grocery and department stores for just a few dollars. Might be wise to pick some up if you get the chance. Lipitor is what they switched my dh to also.

I can't believe they took the clothes out of your locker!! Isn't that considered theft, since I'm assuming your locker was locked?? Makes me glad I am living in this no-nothing town where we all have our own key to the gym and everyone trusts everyone. Even our tanning salons give their customers the keys so they can use the place after hours.

Anyway, I have faith in you T that you will get back on track! Like you said, one meal at a time. You can do it!!

D

Oh my outfits are the same, just different colors. One outfit is a chocolate brown and the other is a teal color. Very pretty. Both are ribbed knit. The long top has a square neckline and the short sleeves come to my elbows (covers those fat arms of mine!). The matching pants are capris, which I ordered on purpose because I am tall and have the opposite problem, some pants I order are too short but capris always fit fine. I bought some really pretty jewlery to accompany each outfit to dress them up a bit. We all dress up for our sorority meetings and events and these are perfect "dressy-casual" outfits that I can wear or mix and match with other tops or pants that I own. I don't want to buy too many new things until I lose more weight but I need some outfits to get me by in the meantime.

I'm with you D--love those capri's!! Even if I was a size 2 I wouldn't wear shorts again as I have a skin condition that means no sun. It's amazing how much cooler one is with just that extra few inches of no pants in the heat too. Dread when they go out of style....This is the 3rd season on 'em so maybe one more if we're lucky. I have all my 16 & 14's vac bagged up in the basement. Don't really have anything for now so I need to get that 10-12lbs off so that my tight 18's will fit again....lordy what a game we play huh LOL!!!

Protein & veggies will do the trick T--we all know that when we stick to it... maybe some more nice walks like you were getting in. Fighting it against a medication is something I've never had to do thank heavens! But I would think that staying on track would combat even that kind of a gain. Enjoy your 50th party!
Stay away from the cake girl!!!! Hover by the veggie & cheese trays!!

The calif. kugel was good. Reheated nicely in the micro.
Served it with baked salmon. Dh really liked it. Will work nicely for bkf for me. Threw together a ck casserole today--hodge podge out of my head. It came out pretty thick so I'm thinking it will work good rolled up in a couple lettuce leaves for lunches or in a flour shell for dh. So I have several choices in my fridg & freezer now and can just steam a veggie or make a salad & be all set.

I was out of several spices & I get them at the bulk food store as I can buy just an oz or 2. Which makes spice buying much cheaper than the jars in the stores. Anyway it's about a 1/2mile from my house so I walked up. Round trip w/ 15 minutes in store took just about an hour & a half. This is why American people who are always in a huge rush are not going to start walking to save on gas....I could have driven up, shopped, & been home in 20minutes LOL!!! The whole time I was on my feet moving-
meaning there was no rest point even in the store--
& my walk was a walk not a power walk but it was a mile so no gazelle today. I don't push for speed yet cause doing any exercise with an extra 80lbs on my knees/feet is a big enough drain. Don't want to risk an injury. Can pick up speed later. My hips were tired when I got home.
They are not when I get off the gazelle. I'm amazed at the exercise that you are taking on w/ ms plus all the extra wgt on your joints D!! Has your doc approved it all?
Even with all the traffic it was pleasant to be outside. When it's cool it's easier for me to be outside. Was covered completely by clothes except for my face/neck/hands which I slathered w/my 60 sunblock.

Ok tomorrow is my 9-7 day w/2 clients so I'm off to pack lunches & set up the mornings coffee. I'm planning on working the part time while I getting all this medical stuff done. Truthfully I think I am going to end up having hand sugery for the carpal tunnel which will not even be part time for awhile I would imagine. Still have to set that appt up. Today I got my mamogram & colonoscopy scheduled. Dh will just have to get a grip, & he will I'm sure. Just a nervous job market still here in MI. He got another job offer for Wisconsin today--in Oshgosh I think.

I took Lipitor last year for 3 weeks--was having a terrible charley horse in my calf every nite!! So I stopped. Let's hope I do better with the Crestor. When I get the wgt off & the #'s down I can maybe go off & see what happens. Most folks I know that have tried the cholestrol drugs have had problems w/side effects. I'm willing to at least give it a try.
Later gals--

I tell ya, if I don't lose weight this week.... I ate lightly today. Not a forever thing. Just need to jump-start myself to get me motivated and will go back to the normal eating in a day or two. I am trying desparately to reach a 30 lb loss and am just a few lbs away.

Today's menu:

B-coffee
L-1 sl turkey breast, 1 sl cheese, 1/4 cup cottage cheese
D-2 turkey burgers, broccoli, lettuce
S-none so far

I still need to figure out a snack to have before bedtime and it has to have a few carbs to keep my sugars regulated overnight. I'll have think on that??

C, what a great walk you had! I bet you burned lots of calories with that one plus all that fresh air. I have not tried the Callanetics since the tapes have not come in the mail yet. I don't know if it is something I can even do but I figure, why not try? If I can't do it, oh well. If I can, all the better. I only go to Curves twice a week and they are mostly all sitting down exercises. I skip the machine that I cannot do. Maybe it sounds like I am exercising a lot but sadly, it's just a couple of times a week for 45 min right now. I hope to build the strength up in my limbs to do more but haven't gotten there yet. I tried the walking, but even 10 min is too hard on my feet, legs and hips so I need to focus on exercise that does not cause too much pain. I am waiting till I lose a little more weight before I go back to my dr but he sees me around town and knows that I am trying to lose by diet and exercise.

Well I am off to watch tv with dh. Maybe that will keep me out of the kitchen!!

Have a good night ladies! D

Geez, I'm thinking the same thing, C.

YH, where ya at? I always enjoy reading your posts every morning with my coffee!! How was your Callanetics class last night?

I ended up not taking my lunchtime or suppertime insulin. Didn't need to. So my only snacks last night were a pickle and a Babybel Lite. I am happy. And my sugars this morning were great.

Halfway thru the week. How is everyone doing??

Well, I could not do my 200am post as S3 had some gal out there so I crawled back in to my room and stared at the clock for 3 hours. They must have went skinny dipping in the pool as their clothes were strewn in the patio area as I left for work. I picked up the clothes so my neighbors would not have to see this and I looked at the size of the gals jeans - they were so teeny - a sz 0 - I should have been ticked but here I am lookin at a jean size of some strangerSounds like everyone is doing good with the eats and the exercising I was so nauseous when I got home from work yesterday that I never made it to my class so that was a dissappointment, just couldn't do it.

Tues.
AM - cantelope and an apple
Lunch- kashi cereal with blackberries and FF milk
Dinner- Baked Salmon and broccoli
Snacks- Fruiti, goldfish, and quaker mini cakes ( one too many )

I am so jealous of your part time work C, but you probably will be out for awhile with the carpal surgery - I think you will end up having to do this. I hope your mom had a nice BD. What is the skin condition you have ? on your walk for the spices trip. What kind of work does dh do ? I lived in Oshkosh for one year.

Thats rough T - you got dh cooking carbs in the kitchen - I would have to leave too. Yup, I believe the gym stuff - someone took my bathing suit that was hanging on the shower door thingy while I was in the shower-thats nerve. It was the expensive one too so now I take a cheap suit with me.

Oh D, I just know its going to be good weather for you to wear your new outfits - pretty colors for you too. You are doing great with your menus. I am definately going to buy some of the cinn. pills because mine was bad. All this dr. talk has prompted me to make an appt. - its on my to do list for today. I have to get this sleep issue somehow resolved - I hear there's a new pill. Ughh.

Speaking of capris, remember the ones I finally fit into like 3-4 wks. ago, well I have to buy some hot pink boxers to match my hot pink roots as they are fallin off my ass, I am alot more fashionable than you guys

I about sprayed coffee all over my computer screen YH, reading about you checking the size on those jeans. Too funny!!!

Congrats on the baggy capris!! That is so awesome.

Sorry you weren't feeling well last night. Are you ok today? Maybe just the heat got to you?? I am not looking forward to the sweltering summer here. We get up to over 100 degrees and it really affects my MS. Causes extreme fatigue and most days I have to stay indoors in the a/c.

I can't believe someone would take your bathing suit. I mean, that is kind of ewww to want to wear someone else's bathing suit anyway. Geesh, the nerve of some people.

Haven't heard from my friend yet so I don't know about Curves today but I think we are going. I hope so anyway. I've already had 2 others call me before 7:30 am. I am not a morning person even tho I am up early everyday with dh. I need more coffee before I can talk to all these people.

I don't think I have anything to do tomorrow. Wow. A day of rest. Then the wkd will be busy with Prom and After Prom and next week I have several appts, all on different days of course. Hopefully I can squeeze a couple of visits to Curves in there somewhere.

Have a great day! D

Man, you gals all get up so early! I am zzzing until about 9 am here. C, I guess I will have to start posting at night again so you will have something to read w/ your morning coffee! Although I have to say it won't be as entertaining as YH is!

YH, Girl, you are such a crack-up! You got D and me on checking the tiny jeans, and you got me on the stolen bathing suit, too! Really though, that is a shame, the nerve of some people! I keep an old bathing suit in my locker, too--it was one of the things I got back from lost and found, nobody wanted that old thing!

And how 'bout those hot pink pants to match your pink roots! YH, I think you could make a lot of $$ doing stand-up comedy if you go broke buying clothes! You know, you could have a yard sale of your old clothes; then you'd have more room in your closet, and $$ to fill 'er back up with smaller sizes...

D, speaking of clothes, I love this year's chocolate brown; it's my favorite color to wear right now. I have 3 brown tops I keep alternating--one short sleeve, one long sleeve, and one geometric print. Leaving everything else hanging there unworn. Hmmm, CHOCOLATE brown--now I get it!

Congrats, D on getting your sugars down so low you didn't need to take your insulin! I didn't know you could do that, once you are taking it. So, is it possible that at some point you might not have to inject at all? I went back to no bread, etc. yesterday and just had salad w/shrimp, then some fruit w/wh cr for lunch, and my sugar was only 106, so it definitely works! Thanks, D for all your info and encouragement, it's been a big help to me! Hope you have fun at curves today!

C, congrats on walking to the store--that is awesome! What a great way to get in your exercise and see the world! Really, I think a break like that in our routine is positively invigorating! Must try it myself one day! Would you consider moving to WI for dh's work? How long have you lived in MI? Glad it seems to be warming up there. It's been quite chilly here lately, but I hear it's supposed to be warming up to the 80's this weekend! D, maybe it'll get warm everywhere and you'll be able to wear those capris!

My friend's 50th party was a lot of fun. She likes cats, and had a lady come and do a cat impersonation and made us all act out cat characteristics...it was a riot, all us women on the floor meowing and clawing and hissing--wait, that sounds like our usual activity... Anyway, I left after we sang Happy Birthday and ate NOTHING!

I had a good day yesterday:

B - bacon, spinach, egg
L - prawn caesar salad, mixed fruit w/ a little wh cream
D - meatballs, zucchini, w/tomatoes and carrots (few)
S - smoked gouda, 1 sl lunch meat, few almonds

Hope you all have a great day, T.

Just got back from the gym 2002, whirlpool still broke even tho I called today before I went and they said " yep, she's a runnin great ". So I btchd to the manager today...ughhh.

Yes, I missed my calling - a stand up comic - now thats a tough job - I really would be in the poor house then - the pathetic thing is that I dont make this stuff up that happens but I have to laugh and joke or I would be in the loony bin or my next life.

Chocolate brown - I love that color tooo, we will all look so divine in our chocolate outfits. Talking about tiny jeans - this gal had a wonderbra too and I looked at the size and it was a 30AA I am glad I got to pick up those clothes and check sizes at 430 am - it was like out of a wild love scene in the movies from my door to the pool, like a pc. of clothing every 5 ft. or so. The nosy neighbor would of had a field day with that one

The cat party sounds right up my alley - I bet that was a blast ! As I was reading a magazine at the gym it was saying how wonderful honey is for weight loss and used by diabetics to control the #'s. Have you tried that D ?

Geez, I didn't know it got to 100 in Nebraska, is that a dry heat or humid ? I hate the heat too. I was sick because I don't sleep well, drink coffee to stay awake at work, then get nauseated - yesterday was a bad day.

Looks like everyone is doing good with the food this week

Wow T, I am so proud of you for not eating at that b'day party!!! That is awesome.

106 is an excellent reading after eating and your menu looked great. Glad to hear you had such a good day!

YH the weather here can reach 115-120 in the summer. We don't have near the humidity that you do though, so that is helpful. But you know what, humid or not 120 is 120!!! My first year here, I b****ed so much that dh went out and got central a/c to shut me up. I cannot believe the whirlpool was still broken. What a disappointment! Yep, your neighbor would have had a field day with all the clothes strewn about. Might have even thought they were your's and bf's. Tiny jeans, tiny bra. Did you get to meet the tiny girl??

Yes, T, one of my goals is to be off insulin. I have Type II Diabetes. My weight plays a HUGE factor in my dependency on insulin so I'm hoping once I lose enough, I won't have to take it anymore. I've had Diabetes for about 6 yrs but have only been on injections for about 2-3 yrs. Since I have been dieting, I'm about cutting my insulin injections/dosages in half or better, so I am on my way to being insulin-free, I hope!

Cat party sounds like a lot of fun!! Wish I could have been a fly on that wall to see you all meowing and scratching. Sometimes we need to get silly like that and let it all out, don't we??

Went to Curves and got my 3 rounds in. Felt good to be back. Won't go again till Monday probably since my friend is busy tomorrow and Friday. But at least we got 2 visits in this week so that is good.

Have a good day! D

P.S. Honey raises my sugars so I rarely use it unless I am sick with a head cold and then I like to put honey in hot tea. Never heard of using it for Diabetes. I will have to look that one up. Thanks!

I googled about the honey and Diabetes but found nothing other than honey is better than sugar for Diabetics. But I don't ever use sugar anyway, so I don't need to substitute with the honey. Couldn't find what you were talking about. Do you remember what magazine it was?

how nice

Well it's nice to come in from work & find all the posts!! And yes T I always look for your post in the morning cause I know your time is different than ours.

Glad the party was fun--silly fun is needed sometimes--& that was what the party was about, fun not food!!! You did great by leaving.

When I ran errands for my client today she wanted me to stop at this coney by her place & get her lunch. That was ok not a problem but when I walked into this place I was at the bakery counter w/the most fabulous donuts....I am not a donut person unless they are totally fresh & well made and these were!!! OMG I just froze & stared & struggled terrible to not get a cream stick!! I wanted that stupid donut so bad! Then I turned towards the register to pay for Judy's order & there was a woman sitting at the table facing me that was just huge--she took up that side of the table. I looked at her & thought yup I could be that size in a flash if I keep eating huge portions of everything I want when I want it....so it really helped me to curb myself. But the sad thing is I pass that place twice a day & it will be a struggle many more times to not stop in and get that stupid cream stick I'm sure!!!

Some peoples nerve to take your suit while you were in the shower YH!! My dh's sister has been know to do that kind of thing....she thinks it's so funny. I use to think she did it as a juvenile trick but she's 54 now & still will do something like that. A size 0 huh....I might have had a weak bit@chy moment & tossed her clothes in the pool...lol!!!

Glad that we all seem to be on track this week!! Spring is coming & we will be so happy to have some lbs off! I over did on cheese today as I did not take enough food--- had bought some 2% cheese slices and lite babybels that were on sale while in store for client--so I figured better to over do on cheese than do something stupid like go thru a drive thru on my way home. Then as soon as I walked in the door (7:30)dh said do you want to go out to eat. He never does that so I was surprised. Almost caved again but I just knew in my gut I was gonna want the hottest crispest french fry I could get....so I said I've made plenty ahead & can re-heat something in a flash. Which I did. But I'm exhausted from having to use so much will power in one day--think I will go to bed early

Bkf=pizza meat loaf & coffee w/cream
L=ck mix in 3 lettuce leaves 2 stalks celery w/1oz lf cream cheese artichoke salad
S=2 babybels 4 sl 2% cheese 1 string cheese
D=artichoke salad cauli kugel
S=15 almonds
The lunch veggie stuff all just burned off too quick. Only a few tbsp of ck. Boy that prawn caeser salad sounds wonderful!!!

Ok dh would like to see my face for a few mintues so I must turn off the 'puter & act social....guess no game of scrabble for me tonight....pooh

Have a good nite all--& no cheats to wrap up our day!! YH leave those rice cakes alone lol!!! Keep those pants loose girl

Good for you for passing up the donuts and not going out to dinner, C. That must have been so hard especially that bakery, all those yummy smells and treats!! What willpower you had today! I get on those cheese kicks too but like you said, better than hitting the drive-thru!! Don't forget to post the pizza meatloaf recipe when you get a chance, pls.

I tried looking for that honey article YH but could not find it. I hope the size-zero skinny dipping is not going to be a regular thing at your house. I miss your middle-of-the-night posts. Although it does give you new material for your next stand-up comic routine.

How did you do with the eating today, T? I hope as well as yesterday. I bet C's travels to the bakery is making your mouth water as much as mine did when YH had the pizza!

I'm trying to wrap up this After Prom party and I have too many chiefs and not enough Indians, if you know what I mean. People who want to run the whole show and it's their way or no way, and then I have others that have been promising to help for over a month and now 3 days beforehand, they are backing out, so I was making last minute phone calls all afternoon.

I did snack tonight but kept it to low carb or no carb food. I was getting frustrated with all the calls, so I just needed to CRUNCH on something. Thank goodness for pork rinds. I buy the spicy hot kind so that I won't eat too many at once.

Today's menu:

B-1 string cheese, coffee
L-salad w/skinless grilled chicken in it
D-taco salad, 2 low-carb shells (4 carbs each)
S-pork rinds, 2 babybel lites, 2 sl cheese, 2 sl turkey breast

Hope everyone has a good night!

D

Time Zones

Speaking of time zones....YH, I know you are in Eastern and T is in Pacific. Are you Eastern too, C?? I am in Mountain, so I am 2 hours behind YH and C and 2 hours ahead of T.

We live about an hour or so away from Central time zone and that is very confusing when we drive over that line to go shopping and then have to remember we are in a different time zone.

Well, sitting here in bed reading today's posts, so it's almost goodnight for me, but I will say Good Morning to you C, if you're up getting ready for work, as well as YH who I know is up way early, and probably even D. YH you might even be awake right now, because I guess it would be about 3 am your time, but I hope you are sleeping soundly for a change! Sorry you had a bad day yesterday, YH, and that the hot pool was still busted--they sure owe you something!

C, huge congrats to you on passing up the creamstick or whatever that is, or a donut. That is majorly impressive; I'm sure I could not have done that. And to top that off, turning down a dinner out! You have superhuman powers today!

So many congratulations to hand out--D, how wonderful that you have been able to cut down your insulin! I bet you will be able to get off of it eventually! You sure are doing great on your eating; the 30 lb. goal will soon be accomplished! Hope you don't get too stressed out by the Prom party--it's such a let down when people don't come through. hope some good folks will help out!

Well, dh is already under the covers--must turn out the lights and get to bed! Talk to you tomorrow. T.

The good bakery place would have been a tough one. Good for you C ! Im always picking something up at Dunkin Donuts for the guys on the weekends but I am happy with their coffee alone. There were 5 doz. of DD's at work yesterday but I did not even open the lid and peek. Oh, my work roomie came over to my side yesterday and said she just wanted to let me know that she knows my pants are fallin off and said great on losing weight-she just whisphered which was sweet because she knows how the place is- and knows I wont discuss this at work. Then some big giant loud mouth gal in the elevator yelled " gee, you've lost alot of weight ". I may switch to some baggy pullover knit dresses - summer tent dresses. Then one day - hopefully this summer, im going to wear a stretch mini sun dress to work. I need to go to the dollar store and buy the groucho mustach and brow stick on kit and put those on everyday Don't stress out to much with all the prom stuff D, I will try and find that article but I think it was a gym magazine and not one from my bag.

Wed am - pineapple and cantelope
lunch- salad w 1 egg, 2 sl. t. breast, 1 babybel.
dinner - LC turkey and veg. frozen meal ( 150 cal )
snack - quaker cakes, fruiti, low fat ice cream bar

Hair appt. tonite. ughhh.

Ahhh yes--lots of good posts w/my coffee this a.m.
Always gives me encouragement for the day ahead!!! I am the same time zone as YH. Had forgotten you were also different from us D.
Ended up eating about 10 baby gherkins last nite....bottle says no calories but the sodium is pretty high. Just wanted to crunch on something like D said. Scale said 237 yesterday morning & 236 this morning so I'm hanging in the zone.
Am tossing a nice roast in the crock pot this morning.
Well I'm off to get ready for work
Have a great day everyone!! Hey D is your snow finally gone????

Well C, guess what we woke up to? ANOTHER round of snow!!! It really is getting depressing now, almost mid-April and we're still dealing with this winter weather. Of course, come the middle of the summer, I'll be complaining that it's too hot.

Dunkin Donuts....if I close my eyes I can remember the aroma of their coffee. Mmmm. I have not been to a Dunkin Donuts in about 6 yrs. We don't have them out here.

Dh is up between 4-5 am everyday. He takes his bath and then turns the light on at 6 am. Sometime I lay in bed for a little longer but I always get up by 6:30 to make sure ds2 is up for school. Sleeping late to us is sleeping till 7 and that rarely happens, even on wkds dh is up early.

YH, start wearing padded clothes to work and then one day you can miraculously shed all those lbs all at once in front of everyone and watch their tongues wag then! I am so opposite of the rest of you, I tell everyone and their sister that I am losing weight. For me, it motivates me even more so that I don't fall off the wagon and be embarrassed that everyone knows it. I think hearing the encouragement and compliments keeps me going. I know I'm the minority in this thinking. Always the oddball.

Enjoy the day ladies! D
